Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes
anastacy 4/25/2013 1:16:00 PM
I just don't get the hype with this mascara. It is very mediocre and just not special IMO. The formula is very wet and does not build volume on my short lashes. It does not lenthen them either. What must be commended is the ability to kep the lashes separate. I've never had cumping even after 3 coats. But I cannot justify purchasing this again. I think that Maybelline Falsies is better mascara by miles.

Skincare - Body -Bio Oil - All Products

I started using this on my face after viewing vids on youtube where pple swore that this worked. I must admit that it does. I was surprised that an oil was capable of absorbing into the skin without being greasy. I use it under my makeup everyday and I do not notice any additional oiliness. I did notice the lightening of acne scars which was the purpose of the purchase. I have also noticed a reduction in breakouts as well. I never had an acne problem but there was the ocassional breakout...but I honestly cannot recall that last time I had a pimple. This may not work for some but it has for me.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Deluxe Shadow Box
anastacy 4/24/2013 2:36:00 PM
I bought this on sale this year (after this has been out for so many years). I always wanted it but found that it was not a practical purchase because of the lack of neutral and matte shades. I love the bright shades in this palette and I'd recommend it to anyone new to UD. With an expansive UD collection, this palette may seem pointless but it isnt. Shades such as Peace and Honey are classics and I cant think of any comparables shades by UD or any other brand in my collection. Many of the shades in the palette are going to be discontinued according to my knowledge so this is a definite must have for a UD junkie like myself. As expected the formula is highly pigmented, shimmery and buttery. As mentioned before, this palette cant stand on its own as there are no matte or transition shades for blending. I'm glad I got this on sale because I really had a problem with paying full price for it, not that its not worth it but its a kind of special occassion / glam night type of palette.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorburst Lip Butter in Fig Jam
anastacy 4/24/2013 2:04:00 PM
This is a really gorgeous reddish brown plum shade. I was really skeptical about purchasing it, but after reading all the rave reviews I had to try it. I must say that it is a purchase that I do not regret. I love that this buildable. It looks scary and intimidating in the tube but it applies sheer. I like to use it with a nude lip liner for neutral finish or with a plum l/l for a stronger / vampy look. This appears to be flattering on a variety of skin tones and the price is excellent.

Polishes -China Glaze - Avant Garden Collection 2013 - "Passion For Petals"
anastacy 4/24/2013 1:55:00 PM
This shade looks like a fushia and coral shade had a baby. I love this shade. It is bright but not gaudy. This is excellent for busy professionals like myself who may not be able to go to town with the make up everyday but can still pull off a polished look. I love that this is a creme shade and it is very opaque. And boy does this last. This takes a while before chipping occurs and this is without a top coat. A really excellent nail polish from this line.

Lipstick -Revlon - ColorBurst Lip Butter in Tutti Frutti
anastacy 4/24/2013 1:46:00 PM
Love this orange. This is a dead sexy coral shade that is buildable and works for all skin tones. It has enough shine and applies evenly. I like that it is creamy and not shimmery. It is also very hydrating. It is great for a pop of color on the lips and pairs nicely with turquoise e/s or accessories.

Lipstick -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipstick- Teak Rose
anastacy 4/24/2013 12:19:00 PM
This is a really beautiful shade. It is a dusty rose/mauve/nude shade that works on all skin tones. I love the that this is a creme finish with no glitter or sparkle. This is a very sophistcated looking shade. I like that it borders on being nude without erasing the lips. It is versitile and could work with neutral or bold eyes and cheeks. It is not very long wearing on its own but if paired with Too Faced lip primer, the lasting power is excellent without drying out the lips.

Powder -Milani - Minerals Compact Makeup
anastacy 3/1/2013 3:03:00 PM
When I initially bought this, it fell and the powder shattered. I was so upset I almost threw it out. I then decided to remove the contents and place them in an old useless mineral eyeshadow container (which had a sifter). I started to use this to set my foundation on mornings as I found this powder not travel friendly in its present location. But let me say that this is a wonderful setting powder with a high level of covage. It can get powdery (as I have it in a loose form) so my face must be set by a setting spray. It absorbs oil for at least 4-5 hours and does not easly set into fine lines on the face. It is very cheap and works really well. I just wished Milani would work on its packaging for their powders.

Primer/ Corrector -Too Faced - Primed & Poreless Skin Smoothing Face Primer
anastacy 3/1/2013 2:51:00 PM
This is a really good primer. It makes my face so smooth, its unbelievable. I mix this with my foundation of choice (Revlon Colorstay in Rich Ginger) and the application is soooo effortless with just my fingers. It helps the foundation to blend into nothingness with no visible streaks or outline or anything. It feels luxurious without feeling slick or greasy. This is a definite must have/repurchase :)

Eyeliner -Stila - Smudge Stick Waterproof Eye Liner in Purple Tang
anastacy 2/26/2013 9:07:00 PM
I really like this eyeliner. The shade is a blackened purple with bright purple shimmers. It can be used to line the upper or lower lash line to give your everyday neutral eye look a subtle pop. The glitter is not obvious or obnoxious. It is not of a chunky and gritty texture that would irritate the eyes. I like that its is retractable so that there is less wastage and no sharpening because this pencil is expensive. It also has good staying power as well. I received this as part of a free gift with purchase gift bag. I may consider buying this in a set in the future. It is worth looking into.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Eyeshadow
anastacy 2/11/2013 10:34:00 AM
I bought my 1st urban decay palette about 3 years ago, and let me say, I'm obsessed. I have accumalated at least 120 shades through palettes, pigments and single shadows. Let me say that their shadows are phenomenal. They are buttery smooth. The shades are richly pigmented. The metallics pack a punch. The mattes are soft and blendable. The duo chromes are insane. The glittery ones dismissed the need to buy glitter separately (although I find that their new glitter formulas have more fall out and are less pigmented than the previous formula). Where I live UD is available in limited quantity so I've bought all online. The shades dont disappoint. If you think the shades look amazing online, wait till you get them in person...breathtakingly gorgeous. My palette of choice is the orginal Naked palette. Other outstanding bright shades are flash, flipside, radium, height, junkie, loaded, unhinged, vert, fishnet to name a few. If you haven't tried UD and are curious, just go for it. Go for an older palette that is on sale. You wouldn't be disappointed and may become a die hard UD fan like myself.

Lipstick -Revlon - Colorstay- Ripened Red
anastacy 2/10/2013 2:24:00 PM
I usually stay away from bright lip colours especially reds but this is a beautiful shade that looks gorgeous on all skin tones. Its is vibrant red that has a youthful glow to it and its matte so its is not intimidating and showy. This is great for someone like me who is willing to experiment with reds but is too scared. This shade is a definitely is great start.

Lip Treatments -Avon - Lip Balms (any flavor)

What can I say that hasn't been said already. This keeps you lips soft for lipstick or lipgloss application. The flavours are true to word (personal faves are bubble bum and strawberry). And the price is stellar! It never fails!

Makeup Brushes -Real Techniques by Samantha Chapman - Brush Collection Core Collection
anastacy 2/10/2013 12:36:00 PM
I really love this brush set. I dont purchase high end brushes because I just prefer having large collection of brushes rather than a few expensive ones. Plus, there are really great cheap brushes that perform seemingly as good as expensive ones. I got this set on BOGO 50% off on drugstore.com. These brushes are a great investment and the quality far surpasses the price tag. They have a really good weight to them, sturdy and super soft bristles. Ecotools are known to have the softest brushes in the drugstore...but they just got beaten by Real Techniques. The expert and contour brushes are dense but super soft and flexible. The foundation brush and detailer brush are also small and fits and flexes to the contours of your face. I also like the carrier and how it can doubles as a brush stand. This is totally worth the money. I was so suprised how great this set was but I shouldn't have been, knowing that the wonderful and talented Samantha Chapman 1/2 of the Pixiwoo duo, wouldnt attach her name to any product that was anything short of spectacular!

Palettes -Urban Decay - Vice Palette
anastacy 2/10/2013 12:48:00 AM
Again, a not so satisfying palette from UD. It is definitely a step up from the 15th Anniversary palette but there are so many disappointing shades/formulas in this palette. Freebird (sparkley peach) and Provocateur (sparkley plum shade) were not pigmented at all and laden with chunky glitter that does not adhere to the skin well. Fall out Mayhem! There are a lot of shades that do not seen too innovative to me like (nevermind and echo beach - nude shades that resemble each other and the exist.ng shade suspect). Vice - the shade that the palette is named after is a mediocre deep tone - nothing special. I didnt care too much for the cool toned brown shades such as desparation and armor (taupes) but they are usable. I did appreciate the mattes shades (anonymous - a cream shade with a slight satin finish and laced (a light nude pink matte shade) I also appreciated the return of the bright jewel toned shades like junkie - a golden mid green and unhinged - a stunning teal shade. I also liked blitz which I though I would hate but its a nice gold shade with the slightest tough of green in it. I couldnt wrap my head around the shade chaos - a matte deep blue which seemed chalky and hard to work with. I also had some love for jagged, muse and occupy which a lot of people had issues with. Overall, this is pretty average palette form UD. I love this new packaging, it seemed more adult, compact, sturdy and high end. And although UD really brought an outstanding teal and green to the party like BOS III and IV, they do not justify the palette itself. I have way too many UD palettes from previous years and this one pales in comparsion with regards to the excitement of the shade selection. I am happy with this palette but if I lost it of broke it I just wouldnt bother to get another one.
