Fragrances -Vera Wang - Lovestruck
rated 4 of 5

OMG I havent been a big Vera Wang fan perfume wise but I am loving the newest addition! Lovestruck is really fresh & fruity. If you ilke musky fragrances It wouldnt be for you but I love the freshness of it. It's just beautiful. I havent purchasd yet being very broke - i just go and spray on when Im in the shops! The only thing I dont like is the packaging - i think it looks tacky and cheap, a little like a teen section perfume at Boots(UK)! and it's definately not cheap as it's nearly £50 for the small bottle. ****UPDATE i HAVE NOW BOUGHT THIS AND AM REMOVING A LIPPIE PURELY BECASUE IT DOESNT LAST AS LONG AS SOME OTHER PERFUMES - ALOT OF RE APPLYING IS NEEDED :( ***

Treatments -Bumble & Bumble - Quenching Masque

I don't quite understand the favourable reviews! I like the packaging - The tube is clean and fresh – a white tube with a nautical blue stripe & looks smart on my shower ledge. I thought it looked quite beachy. It comes in a squeezy tube which is super because I find tubs and bottles can get messy. There’s also no silly box or unnecessary packaging making it relatively green! Sadly, praise for this product comes to rather an abrupt end here. I have now used the mask 4 times and I’m feeling rather crestfallen by it. It’s a moisture mask, not a reconstruct or so I just wanted to feel like my hair had had a drink. It feels quit nice and luxurious on my hair (I left it on for 15 minutes) but after I washed it out I really couldn’t see a difference in my hair. Not deterred I soldiered on with it, but I can honestly say I see no real difference in my hair & if anything, I think it misses it’s protein masks and is looking even drier. Oh woe! It could just be a hair type – my sister who has healthy uncoloured hair tried this and liked it, but for my bleached blonde damaged hair it just didn’t penetrate it and fill it up with moisture. So I wouldn’t say don’t buy this – if like my sister you haven’t abused your hair like me, you may like. Anyway, It wasn’t a patch on my Holy Grail Kerastase Masqtinquese, and I feel paying nearly £30 to discover this is a high price! I’d also like to say that as a rule I’m a bumble and Bumble fan having been impressed by Crème de Coco & being a huge fan of Brilliantine.

Conditioner -The Body Shop - Rainforest Moisture Hair Butter
rated 1 of 5
amystewart 6/12/2011 12:28:00 PM

AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL. I really wish i had come on here before purchasing. I have very dry and damaged hair from highlighting and straightening. I use Joico, Bed Head and Kerastase repair masks but didnt want to overload on protein so thought I;d buy a moisturising hair mask - this one looked natural and smelled quite nice. i put it in my hair for 4 hours one afternoon I was off work. I shampooed throughly with the Rainforest Shampoo and put a little regular conditioner in it. My hair was even drier and even more broken looking. It looked like a hay bale. This product is just terrible - waste of money - it not that expensive but in my opinion is not good value for money. If you have hair thats already in good condition this might work but its not for damaged hair.

Cleansers -BeneFit Cosmetics - B. Right Foamingly Clean Facial Wash
rated 4 of 5

I'm a big Benefit fan but can find some of their products disapointing and gimmicky. Anyway, I bought this cleanser in the mini pack with not alot of expectations as Benefit aren't primarily a skincare brand. Firstly the smell is just lovely - it reminds me of one of ther perfumes and is simply scrummy. It lathers up really well and left my skin feeling clean but not dry. If you like a nice clean feeling after cleansing this woud be a great cleanser for you - those who prefer a little bit of moisture left perhaps not. I used the moisturiser after it and loved the combination. Only prob is the price - I think its overpriced as with all benefit cosmetics. I will repuchase if its on offer. Very smart packaging.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Serge Normant Meta Morphosis Hair Repair Treatment
rated 3 of 5
amystewart 3/13/2011 11:26:00 AM

This product is ridiculously expensive for a hair mask but I think thats my only problem with it. I have only used it once so will update my review when Ive used it more. It cost me over £50 which is the price of a hair cut and blow dry but my hair is extremely brittle bleached blonde and damaged so it needed miracle! I used it a few days ago - they say you only need a little amount but I had to put on quite alot for my hair to feel covered in it. It didnt feel as silky as some treatments in my hair so I was worried I'd wasted a pile of money. However when i dried my hair it immediately looked stronger and better, after only one use so Im really really pleased with the result. I left it on for 10 mins but the package said I think 10-20 so next time I might leave it on a really long time and see if it gets even better. The smell is ok - not unpleasant but not yummy either - it looks like a very heavy cream and kind of looks like its got little vanilla pods through it. I hope it lasts a long time - it says use once a week but as my hair is in such bad nick I might use x2 a week. Im going to keep using and update on the results! **UPDATE - I'm not as impressed as I was at the strat - yes its good, it would need to be for over £50. Its NOT special though - a Kerastase mask is just as good. My hair isnt' really imporving any more than it was after the first application. Disapointing.**

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Palette
rated 4 of 5
amystewart 10/11/2010 10:09:00 AM

I'm not great when it comes to picking out colour combinations for eyeshadows but since buying this fantastic pallette, it doesnt' matter. All the colours go beautifully together and really suit my complexion. I have blonde hair and blue eyes but I think any colouring could wear this pallette. It's really easy to create pretty day looks with matte colours like naked and buck and a bit of Sidecar or Toasted to liven it up and then has fantasically dramatic yet wearable colours like Darkhouise and Gunmetal for smokey evening looks. It comes with thye eyeshadow primer which I could take or leave - a bit of foundation works better for me. Overall great palette, colours and although pricey its still full of wearable pigmented colours (I got it 20% off in Debenhams and had £10 worth of beauty points so it worked out around £15 but full price its not cheap). I took 1 lipstick off becasue if you dont like shimmer and glitter this (and all UD products) isnt for you, plus its expensive.

Loose Powders -Urban Decay - Razor Sharp Ultra Definition Finishing Powder
rated 2 of 5
amystewart 6/17/2010 7:45:00 AM

This is overpriced and ineffective. It leaves a light dusty residue on my skin and doesn't really do anything that it says on the tin. The puff is crap and its very easy to spill.Very disapointing.

Powder -BeneFit Cosmetics - Hello Flawless!
rated 2 of 5
amystewart 3/11/2010 12:15:00 PM

I really dislike this product. When the sales guy tried it on me in the shop, he put lots of dr feelgood on underneath and then carefull layered it up and my skin looked great. Fast forward to me getting home and putting it on - to be fair I can't judge this product acurrately as he gave me powder which is 2 shades too dark for my skin and looks ridiculous - he matched it to my bronzer, not to my actual skintone. It looks heavy and horrible. What a waste of money.

Mascara -Estee Lauder - Sumptuous
rated 4 of 5
amystewart 3/11/2010 12:11:00 PM

I love this mascara - it is a very good 'all rounder', curling and lenghtening. It doesnt clump and generally is a high quality product. I'm quite picky when it comes to mascaras but was pleasantly surprised with this one as i've never really bought from estee Lauder before.

Conditioner -KMS California - Moistrepair leave-in conditioner
rated 5 of 5
amystewart 3/11/2010 12:07:00 PM

I am using the KMS Silksheen conditioner at the moment and I have to say I love it. I was using the schwarkzopf (not sure I spelled that correctly) leave in conditioner for coloured hair but it didnt seem to do my overprocessed, dry highlighted hair any good. KMS silksheen leave in conditioner is AMAZING - my hair feels very soft. The smell is also very delicate and the whole product just sprays in lightly and left my hair feeling delicious and healthy. I used this in conjunction with L'oreal REapir shampoo and conditioner and this wroked a treat after. I have been disapointed in the KMS shampoo and condition Moist Repair but really love this leave in spray conditioner.

Conditioner -KMS California - Moist Repair conditioner
rated 2 of 5
amystewart 2/27/2010 11:07:00 AM

I was a bit disapointed in this product. I think it just isn't right for my hair. I have extremely over processed, thin blonde hair which frizzes up if it doesnt get enough moisture. I bought Moist REpair because I thought it would help rebuild my disastrous hair. It wasnt the worst product in the world and I can definately say my hair looks ok but considering the price it isn't the best either :- My hair still frizzed up and I found myself having to follow each condition with a dose of Freddirck Fekkai Protein mask which I dont like using all the time. For someone whose hair is only slightly damaged this might work better. I prefer L'oreal Professional's Repair range.

Moisturizers -Elemis - Maximum Moisture Day Cream
rated 3 of 5
amystewart 2/27/2010 11:02:00 AM

I recently got both the Day and Night Cream both for £35 after having an Elemis Power Booster Facial which is a bargain considering they normally cost that each. I think if I had to pay full price I would think again. I really like the day cream - it gives may skin a nice hydrated feeling without being too greasy. I have dry skin which still gets break outs but this doesnt seem to have aggravated it. Downside is it doesnt have an spf and I like to have one in my day moisturiser as I use a foundation which doesnt have one tooo.. Overall a good, does what it says on the tin moisturiser which is, however, a bit overpriced.

Shampoo -L'Oreal - Professionnel Absolut Repair shampoo
rated 5 of 5
amystewart 9/21/2009 10:02:00 AM

I have finally found a shampoo that works for my hair! I have really badly damaged hair - I'm a natural brunnette and have highlights done every 6 weeks. I also blowdry and straighten my hair every other day so it was in really bad condition - so dry, splitting and impossible to get shiny. I just started using this with the conditioner becasue it was recommended to me by my stylist and I dont know whether it's the conditioner or the shampoo but it it has already made such a big difference to my hair - it's soft and doesnt look half as frazzled as it did. I;ve also stopped straighteing my hair which has probably made a difference but if your hair is chemically damaged this shampoo and the conditioner really are fab. Only down point is smell - its not fruity like the Loreal colour one but is pretty non descript.

Scrubs -Elemis - Gentle Rose Exfoliator
rated 4 of 5
amystewart 3/6/2009 9:38:00 AM

This is my favourite scrub - it doesn't feel like it's doing much but it really gently exfoliates and is so much better for your skin than gritty exfoliators. The smell is beautiful and the condition of my skin has improved since I started using it.
