Well, I broke down and ordered the system about a month ago and never recieved it...am I still allowed to review it? I'm going to, since they charged my card and sent me a confirmation number. The confirmation number is about all I got, though, and it was not worth the price. I can't get in touch with anyone. I'm automatically forwarded to a voice mail box which is full and won't let me leave a message. No one will respond to my emails. So, screw the Alexis Vogel system it's not worth gambling $120 or however much it cost because you may or may not recieve it. You definitely won't be able to contact customer service if there is any sort of problem. I hope my bank will be able to refund the money somehow.
My cousin uses this every day and she has the most beautiful skin! I only use it two or three times a week, and I love it. It makes my skin look and feel so smooth. It kinda hurts if I use it on my forehead and cheeks, so I mostly use it as a scrub for the sides of my nose, where I need exfoliation the most. Minus one lippy for the pain. I keep straying to other scrubs but keep coming back to this, because it seems the most effective. Others tend to be too gentle and I can hardly notice the difference compared to st. ives. I want to try the one for sensitive skin next, maybe it won't hurt my cheeks and forehead as much.
I love this lipliner! It goes on smoothly and has relatively good staying power. It matches so many of my lipsticks and glosses that it really is a useful product, and it's a good safe color that I can be confident wearing anywhere. Plus, it's pretty cheap for a liner that doesn't tug or smear too easily. Seems comparable to a high-end liner. I will buy again and again and again!
I didn't like this at first because I thought it was too bright pink. The trick is to apply a very thin layer, for only a hint of pink. I guess that's why the product is so runny. So now just a smidgeon of this stuff under my light pink lip gloss gives me the perfect rosy shade. I will buy again, since I like that it gives me a nice base shade for my tinted gloss and leaves color even after lipsticks/glosses wear off.
Bronzers -Physicians Formula - Bronzer in Moonlight
alalia86 3/10/2006 11:54:00 AM
I bought this product a while back when I was more tan. I didn't find that it showed up on me and was overall unimpressed by the product. I'm a lot more pale now than I was then because I've been avoiding the sun entirely, and have recently rediscovered this bronzer. It works great on me now. I use it as a highlighter, like some of the other reviewers, and it's fabulous! I don't notice any glitter, just some subtle shine that looks glowing. It doesn't look fake, just a natural sexy glow that is just what I need to liven up my oh-so-pale skin. I will buy again one day, if I ever run out. Oh, and I love the moon design, too!
This stuff is okay, it doesn't break me out or make me greasy. It's very lightweight and hydrating. I have the sample size so I'm not sure what the price is, but I'm sure it's expensive. Since I don't find that this product does anything that special, I will not be buying a full size.
This is my favorite eye pencil. It goes on smoothly, has that spongy thing on the end that I have to have, and has a rich color. The only down side is that it tends to smudge unwantedly and gets all over my eyes (minus one lippy), but I have yet to find a pencil that doesn't do that.
Conditioner -Victoria's Secret - So Sexy Nourishing Conditioner
alalia86 3/1/2006 5:22:00 PM
I absolutely adore this conditioner. It makes my hair smell so good, and the smell actually lasts. I use a lot of conditioner on my hair, so I don't like that sometimes it's hard to get out of the bottle, but if I could just remember to leave it upside down that problem would be solved. I can't wait to go get some more of this stuff...I have recently strayed because the drug store was more convenient than the mall.
There's nothing I can say about this product that hasn't been said already. It smells beautiful and leaves my hair silky. My husband used to love the way the bathroom smelled on days that I would use this. I have strayed from this product just because I get bored and have to have variety, but I can't wait to be done with my current shampoo so I can go get some more of this!
I like this conditioner. For one, it smells lovely. For another thing, I don't have to use gobs and gobs of it like I do some conditioners. It's harder to rinse it all out of my hair than other conditioners, but I just take that to mean it's really conditioning my hair. I can't use it on the roots of my hair, though, because my hair will get all weighed down and lifeless. But I have super fine hair, so others may not have that problem. Yeah, I'll buy this again just because I love the smell. I never stick with one conditioner for more than one bottle because I get bored with it (that's a lie, I did stick with Victoria Secret's conditioner for several bottles), but it's definitely one I'll come back to later.
Moisturizers -L'Oreal - Visible Results Daily Skin Perfecting Moisturizer
alalia86 3/1/2006 4:47:00 PM
Visible results? Yeah right. I've been using this for a while, but only because I don't want to waste it and throw it away. However, I think the end is near for this moisturizer and I'll just call it a loss. It's done absolutely nothing for my face except make it shine (not in a good way). I want to venture and say that it may be the cause of my blackheads and other newly acquired skin problems, but I'm 5 months pregnant so that may not be fair. But I do know that this product is crap and not worth the money or even the trip to the store.
Styling Products -Garnier - Fructis Long and Strong Leave-In Conditioner
alalia86 3/1/2006 4:39:00 PM
Love, Love, Love this product. It's an absolute life saver for me. I have fine hair that breaks and tangles easily, and this stuff lets me comb through my hair after a shower without damaging it. Also, it doesn't weigh down my hair or make it greasy the way some conditioners will do to fine hair. The pump is frustrating because I have a third of the bottle left and sometimes none will come out, and also because even though you can close it, it always comes undone when I travel and gets my bag messy. But what are you going to do? I will be buying this again and again.
Eyeliner -Maybelline - Lineworks Waterproof Liquid EyeLiner in Black
alalia86 3/1/2006 4:31:00 PM
This is my liquid eyeliner of choice, I've been wearing it for years. It's goes on jet black, unlike some eyeliners that go on kinda watery-black looking. It stays on all day...no flaking off or running (unless you get in the shower or go swimming, it's not that waterproof, but then again, I want my eyeliner to come off in the shower!). When I ran out of this I tried experimenting with other brands, to see if maybe a different tip would help me apply my liner straighter, but Maybeline is the best. My crooked uneven lines are due to my own shaky hands. Since my experimentation, I've slipped into a no eyeliner phase, but once that's over, I will definitely repurchase.
Eyeliner -Estee Lauder - Eye Defining Pencil in #15 Softsmudge Brown
alalia86 3/1/2006 4:22:00 PM
If I want a standard eye pencil that's going to smudge all over the place, I'll just buy one for cheap from the drug store, thank you. This pencil goes on nicely, but won't stay where you put it at all. Too expensive for being even more messy than my cover girl pencils. I like how soft it is, and that there's a smudgy thing on the end, but I still can't use it because it gets all over my eyes within an hour. Useless.
Mascara -Maybelline - XXL volume+length microfiber mascara
alalia86 3/1/2006 4:15:00 PM
This is my favorite mascara yet. I don't use the white stuff, because I feel like I'm asking for clumps if I put all that gunk on my lashes, but even just using the mascara side makes my lashes longer than any other mascara I can remember trying. I can only use this on my top lashes though, because my bottom lashes are rather long and if I put this stuff on them, they reach all the way down to my skin and leave little dots where the ends of my lashes touch. The packaging gets on my nerves, because I always end up pulling out the wrong wand, and when I have the right wand out, it's backwards (you probably have to have used the product to know what I'm talking about). But I don't guess there's any other way to package both primer and mascara into one tube. I will buy this again, since I've never been so pleased with a mascara except for that time I tried Clinique's mascara, which is way more expensive.
