Moisturizers -Sothys - Creme Reparatrice / Active Cream (Oily Skin)
rated 5 of 5

Me: 32, fair, combo/oily, acne-prone. Over the years I've gone through 3 regular tubes of this plus a pro sized tube which is 3 times the size of a regular one. This is a total HG product for me. It smells lovely, feels thick and decadent and sinks right in, making my skin supple instantly. I use it morning and night - it works equally as well under makeup once you give it a few minutes to thoroughly absorb.

I originally tried this when on Differin and my skin was extremely irritated and sore. I started with Cetaphil Cream and it burned my already abused skin (crazy, huh?) and moved on to this because I had a sample and just decided to give it a shot. Over the years I have strayed now and again because that's just what I do but I always come back to this one. It never lets me down.

Here is the blurb:

An effective program to help balance the skin, refine pores and clear up problem areas. Normalizes blemishes and rids the skin of other types of impurities. Regenerates, hydrates and soothes the skin. Works well on scarred and blemished skin.

Benefits:
* Works to regenerate, hydrate and soothe the skin.
* Helps aid in the elimination of blemishes.
* An immediate feeling of comfort is regained.
* A well-moisturized and matt skin is achieved.
* Works well for blemished or scarred skin.

I'd say it lives up to it's claims. Especially the comforting and well-moisturized ones. I do notice when I use this consistently that my skin is much nicer to look at, very few blemishes and my pores are not so open looking.
Pick this one up, for the price $36 regular (you can often get it at skinstore for 20% off), you can't go wrong.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Deluxe Shadow Box
rated 4 of 5

Very nice palette. The texture is excellent, not glittery and no fallout. Color selection is amazing. My only problem is I haven't quite figured out how to use it other than adding just a tiny pop of color with a regular eye makeup look. Anything else ends up coming off way over the top on me. I got it at the 30% off F&F sale and for that price would definitely repurchase if I ever actually used all of these up.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Liner in Gunmetal

Beautiful shimmery pewter color. I put that I would not repurchase b/c I think that Prestige's Graphite is pretty close. It applies wonderfully and wears well, as do all the other 24/7 liners I've tried.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24/7 Glide On Eye Pencil in Stash

I'd probably lean more towards a 4.5 rating on this. I do like it, it can probably be duped for cheaper with one of the Sephora Flashy liners or the like. This is a really nice browned olive green on me. It applies wonderfully and wears well, as do all the other 24/7 liners I've tried.

Eyeliner -Urban Decay - 24-7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in Covet

While I really like this, I don't think I'd repurchase because it's just not that unique of a color. Since discovering Sephora's flashy liners & Prestige's WP ones, I'm a little pickier about the 24/7 colors since I know that unless it's unique I can get it for 1/4 - 1/2 the price if I go with one of those other brands. It applies wonderfully and wears well, as do all the other 24/7 liners I've tried. Color has been described below, so I won't do it again.

Am already on my 2nd one. I use this a lot and exclusively as an inner corner highlighter. By far the best white liner there is. A pearly white. Very creamy and wears well.

I love this eyeliner. I'd say this is really similar in color to my beloved Chanel Vega. It wears well, applies like a dream. Will definitely repurchase.

Treatments -La Mer - The Radiant Infusion
rated 5 of 5
YouGotYourChocolateinMyPB 3/24/2009 3:46:00 AM

I received a 15ml sample of this to try and I'll admit to being skeptical. So far, I have been underwhelmed with most La Mer products - except the Oil Absorbing Lotion. I like the CdLM as well but feel like it is way overpriced for what it is. Anyway, so I went in to this not expecting much. I've been using it for 2 weeks now and can honestly see a big difference in my skin. My skin has been freaking out due to all the pregnancy hormones and this has helped a lot. It has cleared up the bumps that I had going on, healed (literally overnight) ones I had picked on and as a bonus has even lightened these 2 little freckle type things I had on my nose. My pores also look smaller and the overall texture of my skin is more supple. The texture is nice and light, not sticky at all, a little more runny than what I expected. The smell is wonderful and not at all overwhelming. Just smells really natural, lemon verbena I think. Definitely one worth trying, hit up a LM counter and see if you can get a sample before buying full sized. I have already bought full sized for when this one runs out.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Maple Blossom LE Spring 09

All I can say is WOW. Like a previous reviewer this reminds me of Dior's Silver Look Duo but is so much better (and I'm a die hard Dior fan). The shadow is very soft and silky and can be very subtle or built up to something more dramatic. I uploaded 2 pics of an EOTD I did with this Duo. I'm planning to buy a backup because this is one I'll use again and again.

Makeup Brushes -Philosophy - The Supernatural Brush
rated 5 of 5
YouGotYourChocolateinMyPB 3/7/2009 10:51:00 AM

I've tried many different foundation brushes and have never been able to make them work for me. I've tried the standard flat looking ones, stippling, etc. Every time I've tried my makeup comes out looking streaky and I have to follow it up with a sponge to blend it in. What's the point in that, then? This one, once I figured out how to use it works wonderfully. I use less product and it looks less masky - more like just my face. No demarcation at all - It seems no matter how good a match my fdn, I can always tell I have it on. Not so with this brush. I dab my foundation on my face then use small, swift strokes to blend it in with this brush. Then, I'll put some liquid concealer on any areas that need hiding and dab at them with this brush until they're covered but you can't tell there's any concealer there. I'd say I love this best of all for concealer application - I even use it under my eyes and it is fantastic for that. When I use this, my concealer never settles into fine lines around my eyes. So, if you have it and don't love it, persevere. I thought it was a stupid waste of money when I first received it but would pull it out every once in a while and keep trying. Now, it's something I can't do my makeup without.

I have gone through one and am on my 2nd one. This is my all time favorite blush. A plummy color with (gold) shimmer. Perfection.

Me: NC15, GA LSF #2, Diorskin Nude #010. Combo skin

This comes out really muddy on my skin every time I try it. I'm sure it's a fantastic color for most people but it just doesn't work for me. It is matte - which is nice for those that don't like the super frosty NARS shades. It was just too orange on me.

Very similar to Desire but a little more bubble gum pink than Desire (which has a hint of plum to it.) No shimmer. If you're pale, then use a light hand and a skunk brush and it can look very natural.
