Shampoo -Jonathan - Antiaging restorative shampoo

Saw the reviews on here and decided to try it out, and I'm not too fond of it- I don't like the smell, I hate the orange sherbert smell and it's just a plain shampoo- My hair kind of feels gunky when I use this, which I don't need-I think it's just an overpriced product with this guys name on it-My hair isn't moisturized when using this shampoo and the conditioner sucks as well- I use it on my dog now-

Shampoo -Kerastase - Bain Apres Soleil
rated 3 of 5
WindyCityGirl 2/9/2009 11:54:00 AM

I used to use this product all the time, it became my favorite shampoo and conditioner...until they reformulated it last year- The shampoo used to be a milky white color, then they did something to it and it's clear and that made a difference-Now it leaves some weird film on my hair- With this film my roots/hair feel heavy, which never happened with the old formula-I was so mad b/c I called Kerataste and asked if the formula changed before I bought it- So I no longer use this-

Eye Shadow -Chanel - Quadra - 14 Mystic Eyes
rated 5 of 5
WindyCityGirl 1/30/2009 8:25:00 PM

This is by far my favorite Chanel quad, it was meant for my eyes and my skin tone-Every color is so rich, smooth and just perfect on me- Thanks to Karla's blog I knew I had to have it, when I tried the colors on to the back of my hand I said "I'll take it!" There are so many ways to wear this quad, from very sheer to a nice rich smokey eye, and doing a smokey eye doesn't mean using the darkest color either- Overall this is A+++, I wish this wasn't a LE item, actually I don't even know if it is, I hope not b/c this will be the 1st quad ever that I hit pan on and will buy again-

Treatments -Lancome - High Resolution with Fibrelastine

I love this product-I have sensitive skin, the smallest things thinngs can irratate my skin, but this works- It was given to me as a sample from a family member, I remember when I tried it my skin felt like velvet and I had no irratation, that was back in 2004- I'm still using it-They reformulated the product/package but luckily it still works the same-It goes on smooth, not greasy, no problems on my skin, so for me this is a staple that I've bought over and over again-

Lips -Giorgio Armani - Lip Wax
rated 2 of 5
WindyCityGirl 9/18/2008 10:24:00 PM

I was intrigued by the craziness on the make-up board about these "lip wax" things, so I started reading the posts and looking at the pictures that were provided- I decided I'd probably like #1 or #2, so I went to Nordstrom's yesterday and put on #1, and instantly I took it off b/c I looked dead, so I put on #2-They go on so smooth and feel good on the lips- Well as I was walking around my lips looked so bright-I have naturally pigmented lips anyway so the #2 ended up a brick red on me...no lie- I had to take it off in Sephora, it was that bright-So I went back to the Armani counter and tried #1 again, this time I let it sit in and I decided I really like it, perfect on my lips since they are naturally rosey- I like the cute little mirror actually and how it's so compact and doesn't take room in my pocket or wristlet- ***UPDATE*** I do not like this-It is drying and orange-I had no idea it was orange on me until I got sent a picture and my lips looked so orange and ugly-I thought back "what did I wear on my lips that night" and I realized it was the Lip Wax-Not cool, so I'm going to try my hardest to return it Friday-

Conditioner -Molton Brown - Moisture-drench rosella haircondition
rated 3 of 5
WindyCityGirl 7/15/2008 12:26:00 PM

So this was the conditioner I tried with the matching shampoo- The conditioner texture is thick, not too bad-Once it went on it felt like it gave a nice slip, and my hair felt to be less tangled-But again the smell is a little too much-Maybe it's the black pepper that's in it, but smells like mens products, not for me- Ingredients: wild rosella panthenol sugar beet extract vitamin E acetate glycerin sweet almond oil rose coriander black pepper After I got out of the shower I had the hardest time brushing my hair-I had used the matching shampoo plus the detangler from the line and it was a pain in the butt- My hair was soft the next day after it dried but it had this limpness to it-The shampoo seemed to dry it out, the conditioner coated it way too much and the detangler made me smell like I showered in mens cologne and left a sticky feeling to my hair- As I said before, good for men, not that good for women-

Shampoo -Molton Brown - Moisture-drench rosella hairwash
rated 2 of 5

The shampoo is a little runny and it has a very strong scent, it smells good to sniff at the store (CO Bigelow) but once I got it home the scent was a little overwhelming in my hair- It made it feel clean though but I think a little too clean- I think this is a good line for men, not women-

Conditioner -Molton Brown - Shining Starbloom Haircondition & Detangle
rated 1 of 5
WindyCityGirl 7/15/2008 12:18:00 PM

I got this at CO Bigelow, saw it last month at a store party, was interested in it since I was looking for a detangler/leave in- Well it's not for me at all-It smells like a mens cologne was dumped all over my head-It's that strong- And I don't think it does that great of job detangling either-I have long hair, close to waist length and it didn't do that great of job, actually the Kerastase Oleo Serum does a far better job as a detangler than this did-And when I tried it on my dry hair just to see again it made it so sticky and that smell again, just horrid- It was $32, and not worth it-I'm taking it back Thursday and maybe getting the new Kerastase leave in instead, since that is the line I use for my hair- So if you like the strong scent of mens cologne all over you you'll like this, if not stay far away-

Mascara -Make Up For Ever - Lengthening
rated 4 of 5
WindyCityGirl 6/27/2008 3:29:00 PM

I love this mascara and it's tiny little brush head-I am so sick of these giant mascara brushes, are we giants and must use ginormous tools for our lashes now? This is so easy to control, never has an excess of product on it (yet I still blot it just in case) like most other mascaras there is no way you can pull out the wand and use instantly, yet with this you can- The brush is awesome, it's small, tiny actually but it's so nice to be able to control where the product goes and I don't know about you but my eyelashes aren't thick like horse hair, they are thin and so this brush does an awesome job of coating eash individual lash-Layers nicely and has done fine on me- There is a waterproof one but I see no need in getting on since I live in Chicago and never ever are near water-Now when I go back home to Florida I'll buy the WP one b/c I am sure it's works just as well as the regular one- But for $19 this beats out the mascaras I have: Chanel, Dior, Clinique, YSL and Lancome-

Concealers -MAC - Select Moisturecover
rated 4 of 5
WindyCityGirl 6/27/2008 3:25:00 PM

I never bought from MAC before but a friend was up and she used the concealor in the pot and it really looked good on her, so I decided to try it as well-It blended so perfectly- So I went to buy some and decided I didn't need a heavy coverage like my friend and decided upon the Moisturecover, which is lighter and thinner- It's so nice-It glides right on, never ever is flaky and doesn't cake up on me-It's the first time I've used something under my eyes that looks right-It blends perfectly with my skin tone and does the job- And it's super cheap, I really like it and will continue to buy this product-

Liquid -Make Up For Ever - Mat Velvet PLUS Matifying Foundation
rated 5 of 5
WindyCityGirl 6/27/2008 10:36:00 AM

I don't use foundation, usually just some pressed powder and some concealor-I know this summer/fall the trend is to be matte, no sheen/dewy look so I wanted something to really make me matte and this does the job- I don't have to use a lot at all, the smallest amount is needed-I think you have to have good skin first off to use this b/c it dries instantly and if you had any flaws it wouldn't look right- But with this I have the matte look I was looking for, no irratation on my face (where I use it) and I have super sensitve and finicky skin and normally *everything* bothers my face, and this doesn't which is great- It does dry quick so you must apply fast-I use a Armani face brush but feel fingers are fine- So if you want a matte look this will work-

Liquid -Giorgio Armani - Luminous Silk Foundation
rated 2 of 5
WindyCityGirl 4/3/2008 4:03:00 PM

I bought this the 1st time back in 2003-We moved from Florida and I felt I needed some "color" and moisture, so I bought it-I noticed my skin looked great with it but I had some reactions at times-Then I got it again, a smaller size the travel size and I really think my skin doesn't like it- I don't wear it all over, I only use it under my eyes-So yesterday I decided to see how it looked all over, it was very pretty but then this morning I noticed little bumps that popped up that were not there yesterday afternoon- There is something in this that my skin doesn't like-I like this b/c the color matches my skin, but not the reaction I get from it-

Lipstick -Christian Dior - Dior Addict Ultra-Shine Sheer Lipcolor in 142- Shiniest Meringue
rated 2 of 5
WindyCityGirl 3/20/2008 5:15:00 PM

I wasn't expecting it to be so pale-When I tried it on in Sephora it seemed ok, but when I got home it was like a 60's kind of pale pink- I have very pigmented lips so maybe a pale pink looks odd over them, but I think it would look beautiful once I'm out in the sun again- Very milky pink with sublt pink and silves glitter tones-

Conditioner -Shu Uemura - Full Shimmer Illuminating Conditioner
rated 1 of 5
WindyCityGirl 11/27/2007 10:46:00 AM

So far this has been good with my hair-I have thin hair strands, but tons of them that are wavy/frizzy- So I need moisture but nothing that will weigh my hair down-This was used on my hair at the salon and I love the scent, Rose Musk Oil, smells great-- This is just enough moisture for my hair, I always want my hair to feel like silk when I rinse out conditioner but when that happens my hair is usually limp or gunky feeling, but with this it's not heavy and makes hair very shiny-It's in a pump, which is nice b/c with the Kerastase products I was using I was sick of dipping my hand in a tub-Now they have a deep conditioning treatment with each of the lines, but I haven't bought/tried that one yet and it's in a tub- Also with the new Shu line are Deep Sea Water, which includes a Smoothing, Moisturizing and Protecting spray that you put on after the shower, which I want to try out but honestly I didn't want to be broke, so I'll try the Smoothing or Moisturizing spray later- In all it's been good, used it 2x, there are 2 other lines; Moisture Velvet (dry hair) and Silk Bloom (damaged hair), I was told the other 2 may be a little heavy for my hair, so I stuck with the Sheer line- UPDATE********************* Ok, I've been using this since mid-November, I have to say my hair doesn't love it-It's ok but for the money not worth it-Maybe I need Asian hair, but this conditioner is very light, it doesn't go well with the shampoo b/c the shampoo makes my hair tangle instantly- So I'll probably stick with Kerastase or other lines-

Shampoo -Shu Uemura - Full Shimmer Illuminating Shampoo
rated 1 of 5
WindyCityGirl 11/27/2007 10:39:00 AM

I've used this two times so far, it's watery in consistency, not thick like the Kerastase shampoo's I've used- It smells amazing, lathers normal-It doesn't make my hair feel as smooth as the Kerastase product I was using but I also have highlights which change the texture or hair, and I have long hair that tangles, so no shampoo will make my hair feel like silk- But it seems to clean well and my hair is very shiny afterwards but that may be from the conditioner-This line is like a gloss for hair, I wanted to give it a try and so far it's ok-Now I must warn you...this line is very expensive- Shampoo was $40, conditioner was $50 and styling products are $30- UPDATE******************* I dont' like this shampoo, it instantly tangles up my hair-I've been using this since mid-November and at first I thought I just had a lot of knots going on, but when I went and used my Kerastase shampoo I didn't have that problem-Also I think it's too heavy, the Rose Oil b/c my hair feels heavier than usual and I have been shedding like a freak! Ever since I started using the line I shed like crazy- So don't waste the money on this, this line Shimmer is the lightest formula the other 2 are much heavier, I couldn't imagine how they would be in my hair-The scent is nice but it fades quickly- UPDATE part 2*********************** I've realized that this makes my hair feel yucky-When I use my old Kerastase stuff I can go a whole week without washing my hair-This stuff makes my hair feel gross on day 2! I have super long hair so that sucks b/c I usually never need to wash it that often-I don't use the conditioner on my scalp area at all so it's the shampoo that makes my hair feel gummy- Also I get headaches bad since I started using the line :(
