Liquid -Estee Lauder - Double Wear
Whiteday 4/24/2012 6:20:00 AM
This is one of the better liquid foundations that I've attempted to use. My skin tends to get oily faster when I'm wearing my moisturiser with spf as a base so I want something that can resist that and last me a whole day at university without touch-up required. This didn't stay matte for very long at all but on the bright-side, it didn't get too oily very quickly. It did it slowly, except for my nose which got oily only a little less faster than its usual, uncooperative speed. 14 hours later, foundation is still on my face, looking largely intact. My cheeks have a natural dewy look, while my nose looks a tad oily after I blotted twice during the day. The cover is excellent, even making my freckles look inconspicuous, but I find that this makeup is very temperamental when it goes on. Sometimes it slides across my skin very easily. Other times I'm poking at places trying to get it even and blended. Maybe it's because my skin is worse at some times than others, but this IS more difficult to apply than, say, the shiseido perfect refining, which goes on like silk. I suspect that when Winter comes and my skin is dryer, it will be even more difficult to apply. An interluding story and a warning: I am currently using my sample of desert beige and it looks fine to me. It was recommended to me by 2 SAs from 2 different Myer stores. But SAs in another Myer store have also reccommended Ecru and Bone. When one lady put desert beige on my jawline when she was showing me a comparison of the three, for some reason it looked much more orange on my skin than my sample does. Which reminded me of and brings me to a story. In the past I bought a bottle of Bone ELDW after having had it put on me in-store. The box definitely said Bone. When I went home and tried it, it came out very dark and orange. Lo and behold, it was pale almond, and the bottom of the jar confirmed this. I have the sneaking suspicion that the colours are mixed up in more than a few ways. I will swear that the desert beige i have as a sample is not orange at all...but yes. SA showed otherwise. Slight differences in colours despite being labelled the same? Maybe. Check your colours and make sure ladies, you don't want to waste almost $70 AUD like I did.

Liquid -Shiseido - Perfect Refining Foundation
Whiteday 4/23/2012 7:38:00 AM
I really, really want to be able to use this makeup and maintain the appearance that it has when it first goes on. It's so blendable, has great coverage, a nice range of colours from which I found a perfect match, it does not clog my pores, and it has a very natural finish. Ultimate downside: My skin is too oily to allow that to last. This product got very oily, very quickly. The good thing is, once it reaches a certain stage of oiliness, it kind of stays in an EXTREMELY dewy status instead of degrading into pure slick. Unfortunately, if I touch my face while it's like this, the cover comes away onto my fingers together with oil. Like I said, I'd love to continue using this. I tried using compact powder in the morning and that helped a bit, but not enough.

Moisturizers -L'Occitane - Angelica Hydration Cream
Whiteday 4/21/2012 7:48:00 PM
This cream is amazing in terms of delivering good hydration and improving skin condition. I swear that this product made my pores smaller and skin smoother overall. It also seemed to work wonders on the few pimples that I had. I have oily skin that sometimes reacts to other products, but this soothed all that without sacrificing oil control. Smell, texture, both very appealing. I take on lippy off because it's in a jar without a pump and because sometimes the smell is distracting (in a nice, I don't want to think about what I'm doing, kind of way).

Liquid -TheFACEShop - Phytogenic Infinite Foundation SPF20 PA++
Whiteday 4/20/2012 9:33:00 PM
This is created by a Korean cosmetics chain and I expected it to suit my asian skin well (I got the lightest shade No.21). Unfortunately, it was amazingly too yellow/orange for me and their shade of No.21 is significantly more darker than No.21 by Missha. The makeup itself gives sheer to medium coverage...once you get it settled. This foundation slides all over the skin as you try to apply it! I use fingers and it has this foundation goes on rather uniquely in my opinion. I can kind of push it around my skin but it doesn't leave behind as much colour as other foundations do. It's like I'm wiping away foundation if I go over an area with small streaks left behind. Nonetheless, I managed to get it on finally but the cover wasn't great. I then went to classes. This got oily VERY quickly (it actually looked oily when I put it on). Now that I've listed all the con's, I'll list the few pro's which stop me from throwing this out: - Despite being a tad too yellow for me, it still isn't as obvious and some other foundations that I can get from Western brands. - Coverage is easily buildable and I suppose the fact you can push it around easily makes it easy to blend in. - Less worrying ingredients than Missha. - Zero break outs, redness, problems with pores, etc. It actually is a very good foundation in the sense of not irritating my sensitive skin. Didn't clog pores at all too. Maybe someone else can find more love in this product if its a closer match to their skin and if they've mastered how to get makeup cleanly on with a brush without streaking. Probably would work very well for less oily skin too.

Moisturizers -Biotherm - Aquasource Skin Perfection

This was terrible for my skin! I advise you to stay away if your skin is sensitive/oily/combination. It made me break out and I haven't broken out in months (one week before using this I'd been trying a new exfoliator and my skin was actually better than ever as a result). The price is also ridicuous for something that doesn't deliver and I'm glad I only used the sample. In terms of the feel of the product, I tried it twice and it gave me mixed results. First time I thought I felt the hydrating effects as my skin felt soft and plump. It probably went for 2 hours before it all started looking shiny and oily. Second time it went on very matte and my skin didn't feel hydrated at all. It did feel slightly irritating however and I went to wash it off not long after. The smell itself also isn't very appealing to me. It's quite strong and I think some people would like it, but I went for biotherm because it's supposedly natural. There's too much fragrance for me to think it's natural. Finally, like I mentioned before, my skin had recently improved: my pores were barely visible, skin tone was better than it'd been for ages. This reversed all of that. Pinkish splotches in places and my pores are once again back to their previous size. I guess I am kind of relieved I won't be buying this since it IS so expensive, but I know that it does work well for some people. My friend has very smooth skin and she uses this product but it's not for me.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Cure - Natural Aqua Gel
Whiteday 4/17/2012 10:41:00 PM
I was shocked at how well this product got off all my dead skin cells and it hit me just how bad of a job my other cleansers/exfoliators were doing. It also didn't irritate my skin at all and felt very gentle. Massaging very lightly was enough to get the dead skin off (my cheeks didn't even turn pink or look like they'd been rubbed). I won't give it a full score because it does what it says it does very well, but I'm not sure if this is enough to totally improve skin condition since it doesn't penetrate deep enough to get out whiteheads/blackheads, etc. within pores. It's more of a surface thing. Nonetheless, it's definitely a good product to use.

Treatments -MISSHA - Super Aqua Oxygen Micro Essence Peeling
Whiteday 4/10/2012 6:02:00 AM
This product is a kind of gel exfoliator that you have to let bubble before massaging to get all the dead skin cells off. My skin feels very smooth afterwards and I've noticed that tone appears more even (I've used it twice in that past week). But beware of using this product if you have sensitive skin together with acne/pimples! I had a few tiny raised spots that were barely noticeable, but it seems that this product inflamed them a bit.

Blush -Australis - Blush - Baby Doll

Cheap and great colour. Don't have to slowly build up colour, which can be good and bad since I'm so pale that if I accidentally put on too much it's extremely obvious. I wish the strip would be a bit larger so that I can get at it better with a large brush.

Pressed Powders -Revlon - ColorStay Stay Natural Powder
Whiteday 4/6/2012 2:31:00 AM
Ignoring the fact that every now and again my cheeks turns a bit red after using this, it's good on top of my oil based foundations so that my skin doesn't look too shiny. Unfortunately, I'm using what I think is the lightest colour and it's still rather obvious on me, both colour -wise and texture wise.

Lips -TheFACEShop - Lovely ME:EX Happy Chu Lip

This product is moisturising and soothing and with colour as well. I wish it didn't have a scent/taste but some people might like it. The range of colours isn't that big but nonetheless, it's excellent for daily, casual use.

Liquid -MISSHA - M Signature Radiance Foundation
Whiteday 4/5/2012 11:33:00 PM
I use the second lightest colour, No.21, and it's one of the only foundations I've used on my pale skin that doesn't leave faint, orange streaks that are obvious under bright light. This is quite a thick, heavy foundation and a little bit does a lot. I've had one bottle for over half a year (and a pretty bottle it is). Coverage is even better than some BB creams/concealers I've tried. No irritation at all, lasts all day, and surprisingly doesn't let my skin get oily. EDIT: I discovered that this contains an ingredient which can discolour the skin and is banned in the EU. I've used it for over half a year and don't think this effect has taken hold of me yet, although it might be hard to notice since I am so pale. Nonetheless, I've stopped using it.

Concealers -TheFACEShop - Phytogenic Infinite Concealer Duo

I love this concealer. It comes with a matte liquid side and a cream stick side, with the liquid being more heavy on coverage. It's very convenient and blends very well with my skin. The little, sleek bottle/stick itself is also quite pretty!

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Forever and Ever

I find this smells rather strong and distinct. Not subtle at all so I wouldn't wear it daily, but I suppose it's nice once you get past the blast. Not overly sweet like how others described it, just strong and with what, I have no idea. Maybe one day for some special event.

Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - DayWear Plus - Multi Protection Anti-Oxidant Creme SPF 15 for Dry Skin
Whiteday 4/1/2012 10:15:00 PM
Expensive! I used almost a tub of this before my skin started getting slightly irritated and I think it may have been because it was too hydrating in the warmer months (when my skin gets more oily and bad in general). I'll be trying it again, though. It feels very nice and the smell is pleasant. I'd like to use it as a gentle moisturiser when I'm around the house, not for going out because I didn't like it as a makeup base.

Treatments -Estee Lauder - Idealist Pore Minimizing Skin Refinisher
Whiteday 4/1/2012 10:08:00 PM
I thought it did something in the beginning but it was probably me being hopeful. Didn't do anything bad to my skin either, though. However, since it was so expensive and it didn't minimise pores as was its purpose, I will definitely not be buying again. If anything changes by the time I finish the bottle then I'll edit this.
