Tinted Moisturizer -Paula's Choice - Barely There Sheer Matte Tint SPF 20

I'm finding this TM excellent! I'm reviewing the new spf 30, can't comment on spf 20 as never used it.This has good coverage for a TM.Better than I expected. It's quite thick when it comes out the tube, but glides on effortlessly. I wouldn't describe it as "barely there" It's good coverage.I do use powder and concealer with this and also use a sunscreen underneath ,but it's better than some foundations I've used. Looks very natural on. Never cakey and does not settle into lines around eyes.Excellent sun protection, physical only sunscreen which is a godsend for me as I can't tolerate chemical sunscreen around eyes.No alcohol or fragrance.Feels light on, as if I'm not wearing anything. I ordered samples of light/medium and medium, and could use either on my nw 15-20 complexion.I was looking for a lighter make up for summer and this is everything I was looking for. This will be my summer make up for as long as it's available.I was going to try a BB cream and now we have CC creams. But really, they are just tinted moisturisers. So happy to have found this.

Pressed Powders -Clinique - Stay-Matte Sheer Pressed Powder
rated 4 of 5
Walko 4/29/2013 2:03:00 PM

This is a good powder, but I've had just as good results with drugstore products, Revlon colorstay for one. I have it in invisible matte and its a good match for my nw 15-20 skin.I have an oily t-zone and this is quite good at controlling the oilies. But I won't repurchase as I find the Mac blot powder better than this and as they're roughly the same price I'd repurchaes Mac.

Liquid -MAC - Studio Sculpt SPF 15 Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Walko 4/29/2013 5:27:00 AM

Been using this since christmas and I do like it but it's not my favourite.I think the secret here is not to use too much, or it will settle into pores and look messy. The gel texture is heavier than a liquid which makes it more moisturising , so I would say this is good for dry skin or for those who want a bit more moisture in winter time I'm combinatin skin, but I wouldn't recommend this for oilies, it would be too heavy..It's not for a natural look, you can tell it's there. It's fragrance free , but there is a smell to it, not a perfumey smell, probably just raw ingredients which I prefer over fragrance anyway Perfuming the face be it in make up or moisturisers is madness too me.Another plus with this foundation , being a bit heavier it's the only foundation I can actually use without an under eye concealer. Just add a bit more under eyes if you need to after you've finished your make up and you've got a concealer with built in spf. I also use this as a concealer with other foundations. .Good spf, contains both titanium diooxide and znc oxide so good UVA protection in this one. Although I wouldn't rely on this or any foundation for spf alone, you'd need to use too much. I wear sunscreen underneath. I'll say goodbye to this for just now as it's spring here in UK, but I would purchase this again next winter..

Cleansers -Paula's Choice - Skin Recovery Cleanser
rated 5 of 5
Walko 4/26/2013 3:00:00 PM

I love this cleanser. I usually use cheaper drugstore cleansers(there are plenty good ones) but decided to try this. Unfortunately I'm hooked. I only use this mornings and my usual simple gel at night. It's a milky , creamy cleanser which is not drying at all. It dosen't foam at first but if you add a little extra water before you rinse it off it does foam up.No perfumes or artificial dyes.. I think perfuming the face be it in cleansers or moisturisers is madness.I read an article by a dermatologist recently saying that fragrance in skin care causes more allergic reactions than anything else, and I beleive it.That' s what I love about this no irritants. Will I repurchase. Definitely !!

Eyeliner -Rimmel - Soft Kohl Kajal Eye Pencil in Sable Brown
rated 5 of 5
Walko 4/26/2013 12:10:00 PM

This is a lovely deep brown that I've repurchased several times. This has great lasting power on top and bottom lids. Yes, I touch up under my eyes during the day, but tell me a pencil that you don't need to do this with. It's a real nice colour , not an orangey brown which I don't like.Glides on well no tugging or pulling necessary.Exellent value for money. I paid £2.99 for mine. As smudgeproof as any other kohl pencil.Just as good as some high end brands. I've been using Clinique kohl shaper in black coffee for a while now and still use it. But honestly , some days I forget which one I'm using as they are very similar .This sure is worth a try for the price, if you don't like it , it's no great loss but it might surprise you.

Lipstick -MAC - Cremesheen - Creme d'Nude
rated 4 of 5
Walko 4/24/2013 7:16:00 AM

This is a true nude lipstick. So many lipsticks are classed as nude these days when they're nothing of the sort. This is a concealer coloured nude, but that's what a nude is to me.This goes on great to start , it's creemsheen so it has a lovely gloss, if only it lasted. The gloss fades quickly and would need to be reapplied often .This is not the lipstick to wear if your lips are a bit dry as we all get from time to time.It will cling to dry patches and show up every crack. It's not as drying as myth though.I'm nw15 -20 and to be honest I don't think this is the most flattering lipstick on me , but I just happen to really like it and would repurchase unless I find much about the same with more staying power.I also feel when you reapply this lipstick you're better rubbing off what was already there or it can look patchy.Wasteful but it looks better.Hope this helps.

Powder -Physicians Formula - Healthy Wear SPF 50 Powder Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Walko 4/20/2013 3:08:00 PM

This is a powder foundation that I bought for the high spf. It's a lovely product, glides onto skin and dosen't look patchy or cakey.Dosen't look powdery either, looks like a liquid foundation once applied. It can be layered without going cakey But BEWARE the colours run very dark , and I mean DARK. I got this in translucent medium. When I opened it up it acually looked quite pale in the compact. But as soon as I saw in on the puff I knew. When applied I looked like I had a suntan. It didn't look that bad, I could pull this off in summer as a bronzing powder , but the fact is it isn't.If I wanted to use this as intended I would have to go much lighter. I've actually started to use this as a blush as it's hard to get blushes with spf, so at least i'm getting some use out of it.The medium really is for dark skin tones which is hardly medium..But it is a lovely product, love the orange compact and the way the puff is stored seperately.Just be very careful of the colours.

Lipstick -Revlon - Matte lipstick in Mauve It Over
rated 5 of 5
Walko 4/14/2013 10:05:00 AM

This is a lovely lipstick, but where Revlon gets "mauve" from is anybody's guess. It's more of a pink with a slight brown tinge to it. I didn't even realise it was called mauve until I looked at the name when I came home as the tester looked pink. It's matte but not drying, It has a very slight gloss to it which makes it glide on easily.I also have this in pink pout which reminds me of my Mac creme cup lipstick. The mac one is more glossy as it is a cremesheen. Lovely lipsticks , great price ,as good as the high end ones.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
rated 4 of 5
Walko 4/14/2013 5:14:00 AM

I am puzzled at the amount of people who buy this not knowing what it is,what it does, or if it is right for their skin. This is NOT a moisturiser. It is a hydrating treatment to be used when skin is is need of an extra boost.Use it under a moisturiser as a serum or over if you prefer. If your skin is oily you might get away with this a your primary moisturiser, but it will be no use on it's own for the drier skin types.I use this under my night cream, then sometimes before I actually get into bed I apply more of this around eyes , mouth and any other areas that might be dry It dosen't need to be used everyday either, 3 or 4 times a week and you should still see the benefits.Clinique say you can use this over make up, but personally I would skip that one.It will dissolve your spf and surely your make up. I haven't used it that way and don't intend to.Used properly this is an excellent product. So many products get bad reviews as they are not being used for their intended purposes and this sure is one of them. This is expensive but as it's not something I use everyday it works out not too bad. I take one lippy off as I don't like the jar, would prefer a tube, but unless I find something similar in a tube ,will repurchase.

Shampoo -Batiste - Dry shampoo - Brunette
rated 5 of 5
Walko 4/12/2013 1:57:00 PM

Absolutely love this product.I'm not keen on dry shampoos as a rule, but sometimes if I'm late home and have an early start I really don't have time to wash my hair. This not only freshens up my hair it does a pretty good job at hiding greys , something I didn't expect.I just wanted away from the original white dry shampoo. Ok , it won't do much for grey when it's badly needing dyed, but when the roots appear at first it's great. It does look white when it sprays on but as you rub it in it is brown, youcan see it on hands.Sometimes I use it at roots even when I've just washed my hair.I'm a very dark brunette. Will keep on using this.

Powder -Clinique - Almost Powder Makeup SPF 15
rated 5 of 5
Walko 4/11/2013 10:03:00 AM

This is an excellent powder foundation with broad spectrum sun protection. It has 13% titanium dioxide. I use this mostly in summer over an spf moisturiser and I'm ready to go.It can look a bit powdery on application but soon blends in and looks like skin.Good staying power and easy to touch up. This would suit most skin types except maybe the very dry types. An excellent cheaper alternative is the Max Factor facefinity powder foundation which also has spf 15.I love both.

Hair Color -Clairol - Nice 'n Easy - Root Touch Up
rated 5 of 5
Walko 4/8/2013 2:29:00 PM

I've used this about 6 times. the first time I left in on the recommended 10 minutes and it did, well...... nothing! After that I left it 20 minutes and it works just fine. I'm a natural very dark brunette and I use the dark brown.I don't think 10 mins would work in most cases. not for stubborn greys anyway. My hair is quite long but it's very fine so I don't like to dye it all over too often.Another trick I use a lot of the time is get a powder puff and a cheap brown eyeshadow. I use the Maybelline chocolate chic eyeshadow and just sweep this over my roots.Works a treat. I've even had people ask what colour I've used on my hair.Ok it's only temporary but I can get away with this for about 3 or 4 weeks.Worth a try brunettes!

Cleansers -Clinique - Facial Soap Extra Mild
rated 1 of 5
Walko 4/6/2013 2:57:00 PM

I use a lot of clinique products and find them excellent But what high end company these days recommends clients wash their face with soap.Dress it up any way you like ,mild , extra mild ,gentle ,beauty bar, for sensitive skin, this is soap, and should not be used on the face.My skin was so dry when I used this and around my eyes were especially dry Your skin should not feel tight after using ANY cleanser regardless of skin type.I just put it down to getting older.I'm 56.Even if you think it's not drying it IS stripping the skin of it's natuarl oils .I came to my senses and stopped using this. my skin is so much better. Soaps are alkaline and rob the skin of it's protective layer. The formulation which keeps it in bar form causes problems.I would never use this again. If you insist on using soap , get a bar of Dove , far cheaper. But I wouldn't recommend it, even to youngsters with oily skin. This is one product I wish I'd never touched.

Concealers -Origins - Quick, Hide! Easy blend concealer
rated 5 of 5
Walko 4/4/2013 7:14:00 AM

This is a really good concealer .Dosen't cake or look heavy, very natural on.I'm 56 , so I can't use anything that's going to settle into lines under eyes and this dosen't.There are loads of concealers that will cover darkness, but getting concealers for under eyed mature skin can be tricky. This one actually does the trick. I don't see a problem with the colours as others have mentioned..I have it in light/medium as recommended to me by the SA.I'm nw 15/20 in mac.The light /medium is more pink toned than the light (more yellow)But the light/medium or no 2 looks very natural and skin like on .I don't like the sponge applicator, would far prefer a tube, but I like the end result so much I would buy again. At £12, it's not too exspensive. This is one of the best for mature skin in my opinion. I've tried dior sculpt, EL doublewear, Lancome Maqicomplet, to name a few and the origins is the best of the bunch for my mature skin.

Moisturizers -Paula's Choice - Earth Sourced Antioxidant-Enriched Natural Moisturizer
rated 5 of 5
Walko 3/26/2013 3:51:00 PM

I have repurchased this several times simply because it's got to be one of the best moisturisers I've used.Fragrance free, alcohol free, full of antioxidants and other skin beneficial ingredients. No artificial colours or dyes.Non greasy yet super moisturising .Don't be fooled by the fact it's light , this WILL moisturise.. Packed so ingredients remain stable..I use this as a night cream as it has no spf, but you could use it under sunscreen during the day.My skin feels silky soft when I wash this off in the morning. This cream is a breath of fresh air compared to some products that are full of perfume and alcohol and god knows what other irritants, and these are often from high end companies.I hope this is never discontinued.Love love love it !!
