Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Matte Eye colour- Ginger
VictoriaHat 6/25/2011 1:13:00 PM
Love it. I use it as a peachy all over color. A great alternative to bone or off white base colors. Gives a nice warm, fresh look to the eye area. Wears like a dream and I don't use primer.

Eye Shadow -Laura Mercier - Eye Basics - Wheat
VictoriaHat 6/25/2011 1:10:00 PM
The color is great, it did brighten my eye area and make shadows stand out...but even the tiniest amount made my eyelids feel dry and tight. This is probably a fantastic product if you have oily skin but mine is dry and this product is unecessary.

Styling Products -Sebastian - Mousse Forte
VictoriaHat 2/12/2011 12:44:00 PM
Sebastian launched this new formulation in mid-late 2010, I understand. I have been using it for a couple of months and I must say this stuff is life changing. My hair is fine, thin and curly (3a curls). It is difficult to find a product with enough hold that doesn't dry sticky and crunchy or weigh fine hair down. This stuff gives me great curl, great hold and natural movement. It also reduces annoying flyaway/frizz without making my hair droop. Paula Begoun recommends this product and she got it right. Also, I am sensitive and this mousse does not have strong fragrance or irritating ingredients. If you have fine hair, this is a real find. Update: I've been blowdrying my hair straight with this and Sebastian Potion 9 for heat protection for a few months. I still love it.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Stay Matte Night Plum
VictoriaHat 1/8/2011 12:31:00 PM
This has replaced MAC Blackberry as my No. 1 liner color. It is a bit cooler toned than Blackberry. Unlike MAC Blackberry, Night Plum is silky smooth and glides on like a dream. Plus, it stays put even in humid weather. I would have never thought to try Clinique Stay Matte until Paula Begoun recommended them. I'm so glad I tried these and I highly recommend.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Stay Matte in Sable
VictoriaHat 1/8/2011 12:24:00 PM
This has replaced MAC Embark in my e/s wardrobe. The color is described by Clinique as a yellow brown. I do not like the color as much as MAC Embark but the formula more than makes up for it. Stay Matte is super silky and so easy to apply and it stays put. I use Sable as a liner but if you're darker skinned it is probably too light for that. I wish there were more colors to choose from but I highly recommend the Stay Matte formula.

Eye Shadow -Clinique - Color Surge Stay Matte in French Vanilla
VictoriaHat 1/8/2011 12:17:00 PM
I have used mostly Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier and MAC e/s for years. On the recommendation of Paula Begoun I tried the Clinique Stay Matte and I am so glad I did. This color is your typical cream-off-white base color (think Bone by Bobbi Brown). It is not 100 percent matte but it doesn't accentuate less than perfect skin. The texture and application are actually better than Bobbi Brown (and far better than MAC). This is almost creamy in texture and very smooth. It's a dream to apply yet I have never had a problem with creasing unless I piled too much on. It is also sheerer than Bobbi Brown. And much less expensive. The Stay Mattes are a real find.

Loose Powders -Clinique - Blended Face Powder and Brush
VictoriaHat 1/8/2011 12:07:00 PM
This is probably my longest and most used m/u item. I have tried many others over the years, including Bobbi Brown, Laura Mercier, MAC and Clarins, but I always come back to this in the Transparency Neutral shade. I wear it as a powder foundation, when I'm very casual, as a setting powder and to take down shine. It always looks natural and meshes right into my skin. The texture is almost creamy. Even in super humid weather, it looks better on my skin than drier powders.

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Mascara
VictoriaHat 1/1/2011 9:35:00 AM
This is my go-to mascara. It gives me full, lengthened yet natural looking lashes with no smudging or flaking ever. It's also easy to remove. I love how the brush allows me to get at tiny lashes too. I also love the price compared to Lancome. Yes, Definicils is a better mascara but this one works well and costs much less.

Mascara -Estee Lauder - Sumptuous
VictoriaHat 1/1/2011 9:22:00 AM
I got this as a freebie at Nordstrom. Other posters are correct: this stuff is fabulous. I got full, lengthened lashes with no clumping, flaking or smudging. This also looks natural, which I prefer. This mascara is indeed sumptuous...but the performance of Clinique High Impact is close enough for me at a much better price.

Mascara -Clinique - Lash Doubling Mascara
VictoriaHat 1/1/2011 9:16:00 AM
I use this when I get a GWP. I prefer Clinique High Impact but Lash Doubling is a good mascara. It goes on well, never smudges and comes off easily. The shape of the brush is a little tricky for me though. I end up hitting my skin with it and have to clean up, which is annoying. Lash Doubling seems to clump my lashes together more than High Impact but it never looks unnatural. I love that Clinique mascaras perform so well and don't cost much compared to other HE mascaras.

Fragrances -Annick Goutal - eau d'Hadrien
VictoriaHat 12/31/2010 4:24:00 PM
Sigh...I wish it lasted longer because it smells heavenly. Nothing comes close to its lemony lovliness, IMO. I use the EDT and I do like the fact that this is an all natural scent, which is unfortunately why it is not long lasting. While it's on, it's a close, skin scent. This and Bulgari eau the vert extreme are the only two scents I wear. I'm no expert, but I would think this has to be one of the top citrus fragrances on the market...and for good reason.

Fragrances -Bulgari - Eau Parfumee au The Vert Extreme
VictoriaHat 12/31/2010 10:53:00 AM
This has been my signature scent for about 10 years now. It just seems to go perfectly with my body chemistry. It is fresh and light and smells amazing. I get compliments on this scent and my husband loves it. I can see where it might be too masculine/unisex for some but I've never found a scent I like better. It is iconic for a reason.

Makeup Brushes -Laura Mercier - Lip Colour brush - pull apart
VictoriaHat 12/31/2010 10:44:00 AM
This is my first lip brush. I bought it so I could control the intensity of stronger lip colors. I'm fair (LM Warm Ivory/NC15) with relatively full lips and I like to wear lip color. I don't like sticky glosses. This lip brush is allowing me to apply a light layer of lipstick over my Paula's Choice SPF 15 lip balm for a casual look. It is much easier than dabbing on lipstick because I have more control. Yes, it takes a bit longer but the results are worth it. Like other LM brushes, this one is top quality and I love that I can throw it in my bag and go.

Makeup Brushes -Laura Mercier - Finishing Brush aka Skunk
VictoriaHat 12/31/2010 10:09:00 AM
I have been using this brush for a couple of months now with my LM Peach Mosaic Shimmer Bloc. This brush is soft and high quality. All of my LM brushes are top quality and this brush is no exception. Also, I have experienced none of the weird smells other posters have complained of...maybe this was a short term problem that has been resolved. I highly recommend this brush.

Highlighters -Laura Mercier - Peach Mosaic Shimmer Bloc
VictoriaHat 12/31/2010 10:01:00 AM
I am late to the highlighter party, I admit. I thought this product would be way too shimmery, but when the MA put it on I was amazed. I looked noticeably "healthier" and it looked natural. I wear this over my LM Wild Bouquet blush and I wear the peach and white colors as eyeshadows. I would never be without this highlighter now! I did not have a skunk-type brush and I bought the LM Finishing brush, which works great. Thank you to all you posters who mentioned how easily this product breaks. I took mine on vacation not too long ago and made sure to put a cotton round in the compact to keep everything in place. I'm LM Warm Ivory/NC15 and Peach Mosaic is just beautiful.
