Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Emjoi Facial Hair Remover
Veritas709 10/18/2008 2:08:00 AM
This is a review for Emjoi, EpiSlim. I got this at Target for $17.99. This works on the fine hair above the lips. It uses 2AA battery. It's a little scary initially because it's a little loud and it spins kind of fast. I felt like it would rip out my skin. Nevertheless, I tried and was very glad that it worked. I was skeptical because I had a similar epilator from a different company and it didn't work at all.

Fragrances -Kenzo - l'eau par Kenzo
Veritas709 10/8/2008 3:05:00 AM
I've only been wearing this perfume for about 3 days. So far I love it and I'm very finicky with perfume. Like most reviewers said, it's very light, clean and fresh. It does dry down slightly sweet but nothing nauseating or anything. I thought it smells a bit like Bvlgari's Eau The Blanc or Elizabeth Arden's Green Tea, but it's much softer and more feminine. The only thing I don't like about it is that it doesn't last at all on me. I think I would have to hug someone for them to smell me.

Lip Gloss -Vincent Longo - Fioresh
Veritas709 10/6/2008 1:26:00 AM
I love this color and texture. It works well with the MAC Subculture lipliner. It makes my lips well defined with a nice pretty baby pink color. The only thing I do not like about it is it tends to leak a little if left in a purse in a horizontal position.

Shampoo -TRESemme - Vitamin E Moisture Rich Shampoo
Veritas709 10/5/2008 11:12:00 PM
I don't know what "moisture" this product is referring to. Although it's very inexpensive, it's not worth putting your hair through. I have dry, over processed hair and this product just makes my hair more dry and brittle. There is absolutely no way one could use this shampoo without a good conditioner. You would not be able to comb through your hair. I have to dump the 32oz bottle that's half used because I detest it so much.

Liquid -MAC - Select SPF 15 Foundation
Veritas709 3/20/2008 12:12:00 AM
I used this a while back and was ok with it. Recently I revisited it and was amazed how flawless my face look. Like some reviewers, I use the 187 brush and just go in a circular motion. You have to blend it it quickly, it seems to dry pretty fast. Despite its light formula, it seems to last longer than the Studio Fix or the Studio Tech. I highly recommend getting the pump for it. Ref: NC37, combo skin.

Shampoo -Aussie - Moist Shampoo
Veritas709 12/5/2007 1:00:00 AM
This shampoo is a good shampoo, but nothing over the top. It works well. I honestly can't tell the difference from drug store brand shampoo and high ends, unless it's obviously really bad. I use this shampoo with the 3 Minutes Deeep Moist conditioner. This leaves my hair noticeably soft. For reference, my hair is long and dry from lots of coloring.

Fragrances -Giorgio Armani - Acqua di Gio (for women)
Veritas709 3/11/2007 6:08:00 AM
I wore this on and off for years. It has a very unique scent, one can identify it right away. To me, it's a little strong when I first put it on, sometimes it makes me sneeze. That's the only thing I'm unsure about wearing this sometimes. I don't know if it's too strong for other people around. However, after it settles, it's very lovely. Sometimes I would catch a whiff of it while showering. I get bored with perfume quickly so I'm always out buying something new but I have came back to this 3 times already.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - All-In-One Makeup Removing Cleansing Wipes
Veritas709 2/18/2007 4:14:00 PM
These wipes are great! The cloths are soft, removes eye makeup very well and are incredibly inexpensive compared to MAC wipes, which aren't that soft and don't remove makeup as well. They do leave a film behind but so do other brands. I just rinse my face with water after I use any types of wipes to get rid of some oiliness. Highly recommended for a quick and effective makeup remover.

Self Tanners -Aveeno - Continuous Radiance Moisturizing Lotion
Veritas709 1/25/2007 11:21:00 PM
Price: around $7. I love this lotion. I was skeptical at first whether it would deliver what it promises. I find that it does! It seems to work on me right away . It gives me a nice tan look and also keep my skin decently moisturized. Honestly, I chose this over the other ones b/c it doesn't smell too bad. I would prefer no fragrance, but that might too much to ask. I would definitely keep repurchasing. For reference, I'm Asian so I got the the one for medium skin tone.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
Veritas709 7/20/2006 11:38:00 PM
When I first got this brush, I had no idea what's why all the rave. Now I know why! I tried using it with Select SPF15 and Studio Tech and I didn't feel like it got buffed into my skin. I feel like you need to using a dense brush like the 190 to buff the foundation in, so I didn't like how the 187 was so fluffy when using with foundation. And, I didn't like using blush with it b/c it doesn't create any contour and I have no cheekbones whatsoever! I finally went to MAC and ask them. The MUA told me to dip lightly into the foundation, just on get them on the white part of the brush and lightly apply lightly in a circular motion to get that airbrush effect. I went home and tried it and voila! OMG my skin looks flawless. It's so much better than the 190 brush! It makes my foundation (tried with both Select SPF15 and Studio Tech cream) seem to melt into my skin. The 190 sometimes create streaks, but this one just blends in foundation so nicely. I guess you just have to use it correctly to appreciate the great thing it can do for you.

Lip Gloss -MAC - Glamoursun Lipglass
Veritas709 7/20/2006 11:23:00 PM
This shade looks just absolutely gorgeous in the tube. I just bought on impulse (which I always do at the MAC store). On me, Asian, NC35-40, pigmented lips, it looks very pretty, sheer and natural, much better than Dreamy, VivaGlam V or Lust. The texture isn't as bad anymore, less sticky than the old formula I guess. As always Liglasses stay better than other lipglosses out there IMO.

Fragrances -Calvin Klein - Truth Lush
Veritas709 5/6/2006 3:44:00 AM
To me, Calvin Klein Truth Lush makes me feel so fresh a few minutes after I put it on. It's not fresh with the citrusy kind of smell, which is good for me because citrus smell is so overdone IMO and it' not overly flowery or sweet. It seems unique for a fresh smell. After it settles, it takes on a warmer more sensual note but it's very subtle. I'm very picky with perfume, I love fresh scent but I also like sensual fragrance. With this I seem to get both. I like this for now, hopefully I won't get bored like I did with all the perfumes that I own.

Highlighters -MAC - Fawntastic cream colour base
Veritas709 4/20/2006 4:38:00 AM
I only got this when the MU artist at the Mac stored used it on my eyes as a base. At first I thought she's only trying to sell a primer so I didn't pay attention to what it was. She said she loves using it as an eye base since it makes the shadows more vibrant and helps them stay longer. I went home happy with all the shadows I got and when I checked my eye makeover in the mirror I saw how it the shadows "stick" to my lids. They just look so smooth on my eyelids. I immediately call the MU artist and asked her what color she used, since I wasn't trying to buy a primer I didn't pay attention to what she was using on me. She told me it's called "Fawntastic" so I went to the MAC website looking for Fawntastic under eye primer. Of course it wasn't there, I thought the MU artist was confused or something. I went to MUA to look up the name and read all the good reviews on it. Anyway I went and got it the next day and thanks to all the reviewers I tried it as a cheek highlighter and I love how it looks! If I want a little more sparkle I layer Honour blush on top. It looks so subtle but beautiful! I wouldn't use it on the lips since the package insert says not to use it on the lips!

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
Veritas709 4/20/2006 4:13:00 AM
I fell in love with Fluidline the first time I tried it. After reading about all the good reviews and seeing really nice pix of people, I still waited for a long time to get it. I thought Powerpoints were decent so I got 3 colors, but they still smudge on my oily skin. I didn't want to get Fluidline b/c I don't like harsh lines of liquid liners. I just went and bought it on a whim one day and when I first tried it I was so impress on how smooth it goes on and it doesn't look harsh. To my delight, this stuff lasts and lasts even when you wash your face! I will never buy another eye pencil again! I love how you can make the lines really thin or thick. Blacktrack is a must if you're wearing falselashes since it won't budge! You won't get that weird gap between your natural lash and the false lashes. The only downside is it takes time to take it off, but I'll take that for a whole day without the raccoon eyes.

Lip Liners -MAC - Subculture
Veritas709 4/10/2006 11:43:00 PM
I got this today to go with my new B2M Hue lipstick. It's the only color I feel matches Hue closely. It's a very nice nudish pink color with not alot or no brown in it. I wanted a baby pink nude lips and this seems to define my lips so that I don't look so washed out. So far I'm liking it.
