Eyeliner -Rimmel - AllOver Pencil - Strength 012
TrixieVixen 2/18/2006 4:55:00 PM
I love this super-fat pencil for a daytime smoky eye look; I've found that it stays put all day long and doesn't migrate into my eyelid creases like some "cream" shadows tend to do. I'm knocking off one lippie and rating the price a 2 instead of 1 because Rimmel doesn't offer a sharpener and I have yet to find another brand sharpener big enough to sharpen it, so one might be forced to just buy another whenever the point rubs all the way down--not the most economical choice, but the color and staying power definitely make this a worthwhile purchase!

Tinted Moisturizer -Neutrogena - Healthy Skin Enhancer SPF 20
TrixieVixen 11/30/2005 1:13:00 PM
I had my doubts about this product after trying Neutrogena Clean Tint with disastrous results (itching, flaking, breakouts, etc.), but I couldn't resist when I found this at a closeout sale for 2.00 and I am truly glad I made the purchase. This is definitely my grail TM--it enhances my skin without covering like a mask, the color is wonderful (Neutral to Tan for my NC 30 skin), it doesn't add grease to my already oily skin, and it hasn't caused any breakouts after 2 months of daily use--in fact, my skin has noticeably improved since I started using HSE--much clearer, smoother and even-toned. I will definitely continue to repurchase!

Eyeliner -MAC - Teddy eye kohl
TrixieVixen 9/9/2005 1:32:00 AM
I usually don't get too excited about eyeliners--it seems that most of them are pretty much the same and I usually can't justify spending more than 3 or 4 dollars for one--but Teddy is my exception. It's a beautiful warm brown with just a little shimmer that really makes the most of my golden-brown eyes. I just wish I could find a more reasonably priced duplicate, but until I do, I'll continue to repurchase, as I have many times before :)

Lip Liners -MAC - Lip Liner-Stripdown
TrixieVixen 9/9/2005 1:28:00 AM
I ADORE this lipliner--I recently bought it when I wasn't able to repurchase my usual HG lipliner (Prestige Mochaccino) and it works wonderfully. It's a great neutral beige shade that isn't too orange (like MAC Spice) and has the staying power of cement--though fortunately, not the same texture :) Holds up beautifully under all but the oiliest glosses and lasts much longer than most lipliners. Will definitely continue to repurchase as long as MAC continues to carry it!

Lipstick -Almay - Truly Lasting Color
TrixieVixen 8/15/2005 8:34:00 PM
My HG long-wearing lip color has been Max Factor Lipfinity #190 ever since they started making the stuff---much to my dismay, it's been increasingly difficult to find this particular shade (discontinued? not sure) so I went back to the drawing board to try to find another LWLC that would perform as well as my beloved #190 (super long-lasting, wonderful pinky-brown YLBB shade, great texture, not too thick or slippery, etc.) I have definitely found a new grail in Almay TLC "Truly Latte"--it's a gorgeous YLBB, slightly shimmery without being frosty, the texture is SUBLIME (not the least bit thick or sticky and much easier to apply than Lipfinity) and the best part: this stuff lasts FOREVER!! I knocked off one lippie for packaging--the gloss wand end came unglued after a couple of weeks, but I can deal with one negative aspect when there are sooooooooo many positives! Wonderful product :)

Mascara -Maybelline - Unstoppable Mascara [DISCONTINUED]
TrixieVixen 1/23/2005 7:56:00 PM
This is a fabulous daytime mascara for long, thick, defined but still natural-looking lashes. I usually have a big problem with mascara smudging, but I wear contacts, so conventional waterproof mascaras don't work for me. Unstoppable is the perfect compromise--it truly doesn't smudge or smear and it washes off easily. Great stuff!

Treatments -Biosilk - Silk Therapy
TrixieVixen 8/17/2004 7:02:00 PM
I ADORE Silk Therapy--fairly expensive, but a little goes a LOOOOOOOOOONG way! A few drops of this makes my hair always look salon-perfect and insanely shiny and healthy. I would say it is my #1 hair secret, but I can't shut up about it :) Great stuff!!

Fragrances -Philosophy - PURE Grace Solid Perfume
TrixieVixen 8/17/2004 6:59:00 PM
I hope this isn't a limited edition because I truly enjoy using this perfume--Pure Grace is just a clean, fresh smell that isn't the least bit perfumey or old-fashioned and the solid seems to have better staying power than the spray. I get lots of compliments when I wear this layered with the spray. I know it's a common complaint with Philosophy, but I truly wish they could find a way to make their lovely fragrances last longer.

Liquid -Sonia Kashuk - Hydro-Tint SPF 15 [DISCONTINUED]
TrixieVixen 8/17/2004 6:55:00 PM
I usually love Sonia Kashuk products (especially the brushes and tools!), but this one left me cold. I got the medium shade, which was a great color match for my NC 30 complexion, and it went on smoothly and gave a great dewy finish--however, it became unbelievably oily very quickly and left my face feeling tight and itchy as the day wore on. The next day, my face broke out (which is not typical--my skin is neither acne-prone nor the least bit sensitive.) I loved the packaging and it wasn't extremely expensive for the amount of product present, but sadly, it just didn't work for me :(

Blush -Almay - Nearly Naked Touch-Pad Liquid Blush in Peach Au Natural
TrixieVixen 7/22/2004 6:55:00 PM
This very user-friendly liquid blush in a touchpad container gives me the same effect as Nars Orgasm (which I love, but seems to make me break out in tiny rash-like bumps :( ) It's pretty expensive for a drugstore brand (I paid 10.00 for mine at Walgreens), but it's must easier to blend than other creams and liquids I've used and it gives a glowy/creamy effect. Now I'm itching to add the berry and nude shades to my already bulging makeup bag!

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Sheer Lipglide - Melon
TrixieVixen 7/22/2004 6:50:00 PM
I LOOOOOOOOOOVE this lipgloss! It's the perfect sheer watermelon gloss and has such great staying power. It's not too sugary pink and instantly makes you look prettier--I didn't give it a 5 because there is so little product--it runs dry shockingly quickly! I'll still continue to repurchase until I can find a more economical alternative. Great stuff!

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Juice -Caramel Creme
TrixieVixen 6/30/2004 7:27:00 PM
I admit--I have a serious gloss addiction, but I can't stop myself! I can't walk past a nude/beige/peach shimmer gloss, I have to purchase, and Caramel Creme was no exception. It's pricey for drugstore, but it will last a long time and the color--a lovely pinkish brown/nude shade is great for wearing over lipliner.

Lotions/ Creams -Palmers - cocoa butter body gloss
TrixieVixen 8/17/2003 8:27:00 PM
After being pretty let down by Nivea Silky Shimmer (hard to blend, strange color, funky smell, etc.) I decided to give this a try--I was extremely happy with the results this gave me: healthy-looking glowing skin, no glitter in sight, and a divine cocoa-buttery smell. Love it so much I wore it on my wedding day! The icing on the cake is that it's also very affordable. Great, great product!!

Mascara -Jane - Hi-Fiber Mascara
TrixieVixen 7/14/2003 4:42:00 PM
I love almost everything about "Hi-Fiber"--it makes my curled lashes look naturally long and feathery, it doesn't weigh my lashes down, and it has great staying power. The only thing that keeps this from getting a perfect score is the shade of black, just not rich or dark enough, but I'm still hoping!

Mascara -Physicians Formula - Lash in a Tube Cream Mascara
TrixieVixen 4/14/2003 8:10:00 PM
I was attracted to the cute retro "tube" packaging, but the product inside wasn't all that special. I got excited when I saw how deep black and glossy it appeared in the tube, but it didn't really thicken or lengthen all that well; plus it smeared and flaked by the end of my workday.
