Cleansers -Basis - Sensitive Skin Bar
TerracottaSun 2/1/2011 10:15:00 PM
Softer than Dove & as creamy as Clinique's "Extra" Mild Facial Bar Soap, but 90% cheaper. My skin looked clean, refreshed & did not dry me out. The soap is fragrance free & unlike Dove last a long time. Great investment for $1.89 @ Walmart.

Cleansers -Boots - Botanics Moisturising Deep Clean Foam
TerracottaSun 1/28/2011 9:41:00 PM
Love it! Smells wonderful, gentle enough to be a good winter cleanser, skin is clean & feels great, the price is reasonable, reminds me more of a cleansing "balm" vs a foaming cleanser though it does provide a lightweight foam. Excellent product for those who have dry skin or in need of milder cleanser that doesn't strip. I would not recommend this to remove makeup, I don't think it contains enough detergents, use a makeup remover 1st then follow with this cleanser.

Cleansers -Purpose - Gentle Cleansing Bar
TerracottaSun 1/28/2011 9:30:00 PM
Based on the reviews here I was foolish enough to order 5 bars w/o trying just one 1st from drugstore.com since I couldn't recall seeing this product in my local drugstores or Walmart. For the price I was pleased with the 6 oz size bar. My 1st & only experience with this was in the shower, it burnt the crap out of my eyes (of course my eyes were closed but the soap got into them anyway or clung to my eye lashes), & it burnt my private area. What's ironic is the soap is very velvety & silky, it didn't dry out my face or body. So the remaining 4 bars I gave away with a warning about my personal experience. Btw, did I mention it has a odd smell? It doesn't stink, it's not offensive, just has a peculiar scent.

Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Hydrationist
TerracottaSun 1/7/2011 5:13:00 PM
EL is a terrible liar. Hydration? Yeah, ok if it's 60 degrees or warmer, but not nearly sufficent enough for harsh winters, & this is the dry skin formula. I don't have dry skin but everyone's skin is prone to be drier during the winter, this moisturizer is lacking, I had to apply two layers to get the proper moisturization I was looking for. So back on the shelf it goes, I'll retrieve it in the spring when it's more aptly suited. "Nivea Soft" beats this 10 to 1 in hydrating the skin & cost under $7.00 USD & is twice the size. EL ought to be ashamed of themselves with their deceptive products, they're always "perpetuating a fraud".

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Soft Moisturizing Creme
TerracottaSun 12/29/2010 11:32:00 PM
Well I'll be damned, I've spent hundreds of dollars over the years on high end moisturizers only to discover that I can buy a .99 USD .84 oz tub in the drugstore of this cream that does it all. It has the perfect consistancy for moisturizing w/o leaving a oil slick on my face, leaves my skin looking healthy, moisturized, no irritations, with a nice glow. No over exaggerated promises from Nivea, just great healthy looking skin. What else can you ask for? I find the mini tub to be sufficient to last for 2 months since a little goes a long way. Others may use it on their bodies but for me it's the perfect facial moisturizer, even under the eyes. This is a keeper.

I adore this scent but I've got one problem with this & it's a big one, the scent does not last! Yet it's suppose to be a EDP. You get one hour max then you must spray & spray again. And considering the cost of this parfum shame on D&G!

Gels/Soaps -Dove - Beauty Bar
TerracottaSun 2/11/2010 10:44:00 AM
It's a all time favorite for most. Pros: lathers well, very creamy, good for dry skin & winter weather. Cons: melts away really fast, probably due to the cold cream ingrediant, costly since you go thru it easily.

Gels/Soaps -Bath and Body Works - True Blue Spa Like Butter Soap Body Bar
TerracottaSun 2/11/2010 10:14:00 AM
For women in my age category w/dry skin this is a wonderful soap. Can be used for both face & body, & unlike Dove it doesn't melt away, it's long lasting. When Christmas comes I'm going to give this soap along with their body cream to some middleaged women I know who've complained of soaps that suck them dry. You can't beat the price of $6.50 for a 7 oz bar. It's very lightly fragrant (almost no scent), lathers extremely well, & is oh so soft. Some say it has a scent of coconut but I don't detect it cause if I did I would be repulsed by it (I hate coco butter or any coconut scents). A great soap for the winter season, econominal too since you don't need 1 cleanser for face & 1 for body. You can't lose with this 1, it's definately a keeper.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion
TerracottaSun 2/2/2010 10:04:00 PM
You MUST change your skincare products according to the season. If you're truly prone to dry skin or if it's the dead of winter, this lotion is not for you, but you can supplement it with Cliniques' Moisture Surge Face Spray 1st, allow to dry then apply this lotion, that'll do it, but you'd really be better off buying Cliniques' Moisture on Line (no supplement needed). If it's 80 plus degrees outside or if you have oily skin, this lotion is not for you, you're better off with the DDL Gel. In the spring/fall with normal-combo skin you'll be ok with this. It all depends on the season & knowing your skintype.

Moisturizers -Neutrogena - Healthy Defense Daily Moisturizer SPF 30
TerracottaSun 1/30/2010 4:39:00 PM
Bought this yrs ago, tried it once & my face was outshining the sun. Way too oily for me, so I kept it in my desk drawer at work, why I don't know, but hey it did come in handy 1 brutally cold Feb. morning when 2 of my outside techs came in their faces were bone dry & red as tomatoes. I made them both put this cream on to protect them from the harshness of the wind, boy were they greasy faced but this was 1 time when you needed that oiliness to protect you from frostbite. It worked well for them so at least it helped someone.

Treatments (Eye) -Perricone - Alpha Lipoc Acid Eye Area Therapy with NTP Complex
TerracottaSun 1/9/2010 4:57:00 PM
This is by far the biggest rip off within the past decade! An outrageous price for a do nothing product. Thankfully I didn't have skin irritations as other posters have noted, the biggest irritation I had was the hole it left in my wallet. I was so annoyed at the excessive price I paid for a worthless serum that I vowed never to buy any products from Perricone ever again & I never have. I bought this product 10 yrs ago & based upon the reviews I see the company is still scamming women, don't let it happen to you.

Treatments (Eye) -Estee Lauder - Resilience Lift Eye Cream
TerracottaSun 1/8/2010 2:54:00 PM
If you have bags/puffiness under your eyes then this cream is bad news for you since it doesn't camouflage the problem, instead it highlights it. The pink iridescent in it screams look at my pink puffy bags! So glad this was a gwp item so I didn't feel bad discarding it. I got much better results using Dior's "Capture Sculpt 10 Focus Firming Eyelids". Lauder skincare products as a whole aren't the quality they use to be, just living off their world renown name that's all. The only thing "extreme" about this cream is the price.

Moisturizers -Christian Dior - Hydraction Creme Riche
TerracottaSun 12/25/2009 2:54:00 PM
There's nothing "rich" about this creme aside from the price tag. It's thin & very greasy, not moisturizing at all so I returned it to Macys. Now their HydrAction "Sorbet" creme-gel is great, truly hydrating w/o leaving a oil slick on your face, yet even this creme is not dense/heavy enough to use during harsh winter months but excellent for the spring/fall seasons.

Now I know why I fell in love with this scent, I couldn't put my finger on it before but since purchasing this perfume & wearing it, it doesn't smell a little like Calvin Kleins' Escape, it smells exactly like it. So if you like Escape here is the new version of it in different packaging.
