Foundations -Almay - Smart Shade Whipped
Tashina 1/13/2013 9:53:00 PM
I have only swatched this product so I can't give an in depth review but there a couple things I can point out. First, I have the shade light and it is not light at all. The smart shade aspect of this foundation is a crock. It came out exactly the color it shows on the jar. There is no adjusting. I swatched a small amount on my wrist to see if tbere was any way this would adjust to my shade and it did not. It was a dark orange. Maybe if I lived in Willy Wonka's chocolate factory. Secondly the jar is deceiving, kind of. It says it is smart shade but the jar shows a solid color. When you open it the product is white with little color beads and you see that the color you see from the outside of the jar is the plastic pot that the product is actually in. In the case of the light shade it matched exactly the color that it was blended on my arm. It just doesn't adjust. Did I mention that already :) Third the texture is actually nice. Much like the Revlon whipped. It feels good when you are blending it. The coverage starts at medium and I would say it could be buildable. It felt silky to me. So if you match the shade of this and want a little more coverage I would say try it. But then I never had it on my face so I am limited on this one.

Lips -Neutrogena - MoistureSmooth Color Stick in Juicy Peach
Tashina 1/11/2013 4:42:00 PM
I really like this product. I have been so disapointed by the revlon pencil balm and the covergirl even the tarte pencil. The colors don't ever work for me and they are more drying than anything. This is exactly the opposite. I found it very moisturising. Most tinted balm like products are not moisturizing. This made my lips feel soft and smooth. The color is beautiful. It is a very natural sheer peachy color. Really pretty. I didn't find it frosty or too shimmery. There is a little shimmer and a little shine. I don't know how I feel about paying $8 for it but I will decide that when I have used up the tube or if in a week or 2 I still use it at all. I am usually pretty fly by night with my lip products. There is always something else. So if I find something I like enough to repurchase even once or to wear once a week or every other week that is saying something. I think this couod be a regular. We'll see I guess.

Foundations -Revlon - Nearly Naked Foundation
Tashina 12/29/2012 3:31:00 PM
I have been using the UD Naked Skin foundation for a month now and LOVE it. When I saw this, it is an obvious dupe for the UD I was excited to try it. I actually received mine for free in 2 colors, Ivory and Vanilla. First off neither of these colors was a great match for me. The Ivory shade is so pink. It is the "lightest" shade and Vanilla is second. Ivory is extremely pink and actually a little darker than Vanilla. I find it unwearable. I do not think anyone really has skin that color. Even blended the color is so weird looking. Vanilla I had high hopes for. In the Photoready Vanilla is almost a perfect match. In the Nearly Naked (NN) it is a little darker. Not a ton darker but I am very fair and it was just dark enough that it is noticable. It looked good at first but dries a little darker and does oxidize a little through the day so after about 3 hours on it is a bit more obvious. When I first put this on and for the first 2-3 hours this is just beautiful and pretty much dead on the same as the UD. But if you have oily skin this is where it will end for you. There is no oil control. It got very shiny and I had to blot and powder and it had oxidized. After about 5-6 hours it was oxidized a little more and I was shiny again and it was starting to break down. Blotting and powdering at this point were useless. It didn't look terrible though if that makes sense. This isn't a terrible product. In fact if you have dry skin or combo to dry or even normal skin this would probably we a wonderful foundation for you. I would definitely tell someone with that type of skin to give it a try. I have normal cheeks and a very oily tzone so this just wasn't a great fit for me. As far as coverage I would give this a less than medium more than light coverage. Perfect for me but if you need full I wouldnt consider this buildable enough for you. I gave the packaging a low score because I HATE bulky glass bottles woth no pump. I am om with even a squeeze bottle although it's not my fave but glass with no pump I usually don't even mess with unless it's amazing. I won't repurchase but I don't think that should stop somekne from trying it.

Pressed Powders -Rimmel - Stay Matte Pressed Powder (ALL)
Tashina 12/6/2012 12:39:00 AM
I wasn't really impressed with this. The color starts out good but oxidizes and turns my makeup dark. Not extremely dark but I love my paleness and hate oxidized makeup. It is very matte finish. I was on a matte makeup kick for a while and the finjsh was great for me then but now I gravitate to a more natural finish. I didn't take points off for that though because that is not the powder's fault. I just didn't find anything great here as far as the product goes. I did score lower because I HATE the packaging!! Seriously WTF? I had it open in my bag a couple of times and got lucky the first couple times but 3rd times a charm. It scraped and cracked on all my stuff and made a huge mess. Now I use the Cover Girl Trueblend mineral pressed powder. It's an amazing dupe for the Mac Mineralized Skin Finish.

Liquid -Urban Decay - Naked Skin
Tashina 11/29/2012 1:14:00 AM
This is the most expensive foundation I have ever owned, but I think it is worth every penny!! I will keep repurchasing as long as they keep making it. This goes on like a dream. Blends easily, sets on it's own, feels light and looks light and natural. You do not need a powder for this foundation. I have a very oily tzone and I do not use powder with this when I first put it on. It looks amazing and is not quite matte, but it isn't dewy.It just looks like skin. I use one pump and that is perfect for a layer of light/medium coverage which is all I need, but it is buildable. 2 pumps gives a full coverage but keeps the natural finish. It is a bit more matte with 2 layers but it is not heavy at all. I was using Mary Kay matte foundation before this and liked it, but after a couple of hours the oils on my forehead were eating my makeup like acid. With this one, I don't get oily nearly as fast, it takes about 5 hours for the oil to show up as apposed to about 2 hours with my MK. When my face does get oily, I can feel it, but you can't really tell by looking at my face. It holds the shine down. That is the point when I will add a little powder and I am good as new. I put this on at 6:40a yesterday morning and at 4:45p when I got home from work my makeup still looked nice. Not brand new and as fresh anymore, but still good. This is my first HG foundation ever! I have never had a foundation that I loved so much I stopped having any interest in trying anything else, or even used for more than a couple of days straight, but this is it. I heart Urban Decay Naked Skin Foundation.

Primer/ Corrector -Boots - Mattifying Make-up Base
Tashina 11/20/2012 5:55:00 PM
I have only been using his for one day so I may have to update it later. I just had to say that I have very oily skin. 2-3 hours into my day and my skins is eating my makeup like acid. I put this stuff on and did my makeup at 6:45 am. At 1 pm I came back from lunch, looked at my face in the restroom expecting to have to do major touch up. I'd did not. I was barely showing any signs of oilies. I just dusted a little powder and went on my way. That is amazing.

Mascara -Hard Candy - Ginormous Lash Volumizing Mascara
Tashina 11/11/2012 9:37:00 PM
I have just used this for the first time today. So far I really like it. Most volumizing mascaras don't give the best length to my lashes and this is very much the exception. It goes on very smoothly and not clumpy. It adds a little length and also volumizes well. It's not the most volumizing mascara I had ever used but every other volumizing mascara has left me dissatisfied in every other department. A bonus is that it holds my curl from the lash curler. Not a lot of mascaras will hold the curl for very long. The formula is nice and dark black and stays dark. My lashes are long and when they are curled they touch my brow bone. A lot of mascaras will eventually leave light black streaks or stripes on my brow bone where my lashes touched. This doesn't. I like it and I will repurchase.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - EyeStudio Color Explosion Eyeshadow in Caffeine Rush
Tashina 11/10/2012 7:45:00 PM
These are such fantastic eyeshadows. They are velvety soft. They blend so well. The colors in this palette are so pretty and wearable. There is no fall out from these. The price is excellent. I paid $9 for these but they are such good quality I would gladly pay it again. These and the color plush shadows are so amazing. My only problem with these is the color that makes the v shape in the middle. The color is gorgeous but its the crafty clever way it's packaged. It makes it difficult to get to that color with most brushes. Otherwise I love love these.

Eye Shadow -L'Oreal - Infallible in Blinged & Brilliant
Tashina 11/10/2012 6:59:00 PM
I love the infallible eyeshadows. I don't care for the little insert in the pan that you have to keep in there but that's not a big deal. I have several colors and my biggest problem has only been with a couple of colors. Iced Latte and this one, Blinged and Brilliant. It's the consistency. The other colors that I have are more of a semi pressed/loose powder but not totally powdery. It's hard to explain. Blinged and Brilliant are more moist than the rest and are almost like a paste to powder kind of consistency but I have a hard time blending them. They don't like any of my brushes. They don't dust on. You have to lay them on kind of thickly and I really dot like that. I'm not sure why the lighter colors have this difference in texture but it seems to be a trend. I wish they were easier to work with because those 2 colors work really well with my pale complexion. I won't be purchasing any other light shades from this line. I'll stick to the dark ones.

Blush -L'Oreal - Project Runway - The Mystic's Blush - 626
Tashina 11/8/2012 10:04:00 PM
I love this blush. It is very pretty pink/peach. It is very subtle. It is not glittery or shimmery and it looks matte in the packaging, but when you put it on it is a glow. You cannot tell at first. In certain lights you can see it, when you turn your head. It is such a natural glow you almost can't tell it is coming from the blush. It's not really blendable. I am pale so this works well for me, but if you have much of a tan, I don't think it will show. But, being that I am not tan, I can't say for sure. I think I paid $7.50 for this and I am good with that price since you get a really big blush. I love the packaging. One other thing is that it has a slight scent. Like a fruity but not overly sweet scent. It is a very subtle scent. You almost don't even notice it. I like it. I will be purchasing another one of this shade so I have an extra when they discontinue and possibly another shade in the line.

Mascara -Maybelline - Define A Lash Waterproof
Tashina 11/7/2012 10:22:00 PM
I think that I am officially a fan of Maybelline mascaras. I was looking through my drawer and realized that 4 out of the 5 mascaras that I currently own are Maybelline. I just recently purchased this one because I have been using the original Define a Lash and love it, but I have heard a couple of youtube gurus say that waterproof holds curl better. This is very true. This really separates my lashes nicely and really shows the length. I have long not so thick but not so thin lashes. This doesn't do much for volume but it adds a little. I usually can't find a mascara that goes all the way to the end of my lashes. This really does. my lashes are beyond long with this mascara. Also it holds the curl from my lash curler so well that 12 hours after putting this on my lashes still look great. I love both formulas but this one is really fantastic for holding my lashes up. It is tricky to get off though. I use neutrogena's eye makeup remover lotion in the teal bottle. That works great. I will repurchase.

Concealers -Hard Candy - Lite Bright Whipped Brightening Concealer
Tashina 11/7/2012 10:13:00 PM
First off, I am pale. One step up from ginger pale. I always need the lightest shade in every concealer and foundation. This was the craziest experience in color I have ever experienced. I have the shade fair 504. In the tube it looks like a good color match, slightly on the lighter side but I like that for my under eye and eye lid. This goes on almost white!! I have never seen a concealer this light before. I think even someone with a ginger complexion would NOT be able to wear this. That is my first complaint. That is a very unwearable shade. Secondly, this is like glue going on. It is smooth and light for a couple of seconds but then it gets so tacky and thick and starts to dry so fast it is impossible to blend. A little bit goes a VERY VERY VERY long way. I used a smaller amount that I would with a regular concealer because I had learned my lesson with glamoflauge and this was worse!! It was everywhere. Lastly, the packaging sucks. I am not extremely fond of the clicky pen in the first place and this one was horrible. I had to click this for a very long time before anything came out. Then all the sudden it was oozing out. I clicked a couple of times and waited a few seconds to watch because I have found these kinds of tubes can take a few seconds for the product to show up on the brush when it is coming out of the tube. I did this over and over and over and over and when I finally saw the product start to come out, it wouldn't stop! After the defective packaging and the terrible color and texture, I washed this off and threw it right in the trash. NEVER AGAIN!!

Eye Shadow -Hard Candy - Single & Loving It
Tashina 11/7/2012 9:57:00 PM
I have this in 8 colors. I really like these little shadows. Unattached, Magnetic, Soiree, Flirty, Infatuation, Attraction, Solo & Night Out. They blend pretty easily. The colors are great and I love the pigmentation. They start out with a good amount of color but not full on so you can build them up. My favorite so far is Infatuation. It is a pale cream/nude color with a little iridescent sheen. It is a perfect natural color for my pale skin to look natural like I'm not wearing makeup but I just glow. Love it. The wear time is decent. i get about 6 hours of good wear before it fades. I do wear concealer on my lids everyday so the shadow really grabs on. My sister friend complains that the wear time is not great without a primer or concealer on the lids, so that is something to consider. The only thing I don't like is that they are a little on the soft side so when I JUST dropped one if them when I went to look at the names for this review and it completely shattered. That bothers me, but for $3, I will absolutely go grab another one to replace it. Hard Candy tends to be hit or miss for me. They have products that I love and products that I hate and none in between. This is a product that I love!!

Lips -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Balm
Tashina 11/7/2012 9:37:00 PM
I think I don't like this. I am not 100% sure so I didn't give a low low score. What I like about it is the colors that this comes in are really pretty and they have a nice range of color. They are all wearable and natural. I am fair so they all show up nicely on me. The packaging is nice. A little more sophistication for a tinted balm. They are pretty reasonably priced. You don't break the bank to have a couple of colors in your collection. What I don't like is that they do not moisturize. They leave my lips feeling worse than when I started. It never really soaks in and softens the lips like chapstick or carmex or something a long those lines would. I have never found a tinted balm that did. I don't like the smell. I am not a vanilla lover. I don't particularly like vanilla scented or flavored products on my lips. It would have to be a great product for me to look the other way on that. This is not that product. Also, this does not last either. It is quite slick and it wears off fast. Even when I don't drink or eat or rub my lips together a lot, it disappears quickly. I will definitely not repurchase this.

Cleansers -Simple - Exfoliating Facial Wipes
Tashina 11/5/2012 7:52:00 PM
I gave this a total 4 because while they are not really dry, I feel like these could be moister. They exfoliate well. Rub gently! They take makeup off pretty easily but if they were more moist they would be much better on mascara. i love cleansing wipes I don't have to rinse after using because I HATE bending over the sink to wash my face and I shower in the morning. These do not leave a residue on my skin. I can use my moisturizer directly after. Another thing that i love about these is there is no perfume. I took 1 point off the price because for $6 and really looking at what they are, you should get more IMO. The up & up brand wipes from Target work great as well and you get the same amount for $3.99. I also took 2 points off of the packaging. I hate the packages that use that sticky tab to reclose. They don't stay sticky and they don't close well. I use a ziplock bag to keep them from drying out. I love packages that have the little plastic clicky top. Like baby wipes. I will repurchase.
