Polishes -Essie - Cute As A Button
rated 5 of 5
Tartlette 9/19/2012 2:23:00 PM

Cute As A Button is one of my all time favourite Essie shades! The colour is unique - it's a pink/orange/red and looks like a different shade depending on what kind of lighting I am under. It is very bright and perfect for summer. Formula is great (sometimes Essie is hit or miss in terms of formula but this is a definite HIT) and I get perfect coverage in 2 coats. I start to get some small chips after about 4 days of wear. Absolutely love this polish I always get complements when I wear it. I'd 100% repurchase again.

Nails -Essie - Lilacism
rated 3 of 5
Tartlette 9/19/2012 2:17:00 PM

This is a very pretty, creamy light lilac colour. Sometimes I think it's a little too light for my pale skin, but I can't help but continue to wear it because it's so pretty. The formula is awful - very runny and streaky. I try to get it on with 2 coats, but sometimes I have to use 3. Lasting power is decent, I get about 3 days of wear.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Brule
rated 4 of 5
Tartlette 9/19/2012 2:12:00 PM

Mac Brule is a staple in my collection. It is a light, creamy neutral colour which matches my very light skin perfectly. I use this as an all over lid colour to even out my skin tone and it covers up the pigmentation in my skin quite nicely. I do have to layer twice though, ideally I'd like to do just one quick sweep. Wet N Wild Brulee is a good dupe for this if you're trying to save money, but after my experience it's worth it to me to spend a little bit extra and buy Mac. I use this shadow daily and will definitely repurchase when I'm finished.

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Single in Brulee
rated 3 of 5
Tartlette 9/19/2012 2:06:00 PM

I bought this shadow after reading that it was a dupe for Mac Brule. I would agree that it is a good dupe and a much cheaper alternative. It is a light neutral shade, and for some lighter skin tones it might match you perfectly. I was using it as an all over eye lid base to even out my skin tone and it was perfect for my pale skin. The texture is very smooth and the finish is matte. The product itself is very nice, however as far as the packaging goes I find it very difficult to open. The thing I disliked most about this product is that it completely broke on me. I didn't drop it, nor was I rough with it in any way. I took it out of my makeup bag one day and the eye shadow was completely shattered and broken apart. I tried to keep using it but it was just too messy so I just threw it away. This was very shocking to me because of all the reviews I read it didn't seem like anyone else had this problem, so maybe it was just me? The eye shadow is very lovely and is a great product and you really can't beat it for the money. But I personally will just keep using my Mac Brule because I don't want to keep buying WNW shadows after they break. For this reason I would not repurchase.

Polishes -Revlon - Naughty
rated 5 of 5
Tartlette 9/19/2012 1:48:00 PM

I originally bought this polish because I heard it was a dupe for Chanel Paradoxal. I don't own Paradoxal but judging from online swatches they look very similar! It is a dark grey-ish purple perfect for fall. I love that it is a nice darker shade, however it's not too dark or harsh and it looks great against my pale skin. It took me 2 coats to get perfect coverage and I only started to get small chips after 4 days and was very easy to remove. This is a unique polish in my collection & I would definitely repurchase!

Polishes -Revlon - Smoldering
rated 4 of 5

Revlon Smoldering is a very unique polish and I have nothing like it in my collection. It is a metallic silver polish that flashes green and/or purple in certain lighting. You can also see fine shimmers in the light as well. I used 2 coats and got the perfect coverage. Removal time was decent and I got about 4 days of wear with this polish. Very pretty colour!

Polishes -Revlon - Stunning
rated 4 of 5
Tartlette 9/19/2012 1:31:00 PM

Revlon Stunning is one of my favourite glitter polishes to use layered over other polishes. This polish appears to be a silver that contains large and small glitters. The base is pretty much clear which is why I say this polish is best to layer over others. The real magic is when the light hits it and then the glitters look multi coloured! I can see blues, yellows, organges, purples depending on how the light hits it. This makes it an above average glitter in my eyes. It looks very pretty layered over other polishes, and because the light reflects different colours the possibilities are endless! I also love using this polish as my accent nail colour if that's the look I'm going for. The polish dries pretty quickly and I can usually get about 4 days of wear before I see chipping. Removal is frustrating as most glitters are. I usually do one light layer and this is enough to add some nice sparkle, while making it a bit easier on me to remove. This polish is truly "stunning" and I would definitely re-purchase!

Polishes -Revlon - Facets of Fuchsia
rated 3 of 5
Tartlette 9/19/2012 1:23:00 PM

I purchased this polish as "Scandalous", which contains large and small fuchsia glitters with a black base. This is one that you can wear on its own because the base colour is so pigmented. For me I was good with 2 coats. It looked mostly black to me, however depending on how I look at my nails the fuchsia glitter really comes through. This is a polish I like wearing in the colder months. On the 4th day I started to get chipping, so lasting power was pretty standard for me. Removal was frustrating and took longer than usual due to the glitters, but it's the price we pay for glitter-iness :)

Polishes -Revlon - Sparkling
rated 3 of 5
Tartlette 9/19/2012 1:17:00 PM

Revlon Sparkling is a very pretty pink glitter, it looks almost rose-goldish to me. The glitters are a mixture of large and small. This polish can be worn on its own and layered for a super glittery look, or layered over other polishes. Lasting power was normal for me, about 4 days it started to chip. Drying time was standard for Revlon polishes. The base colour of this polish is rather light so you will have to layer it if you want to wear it on its own. Removal of this polish was a little frustrating because I had layered the glitter so much, and for me glitter is a pain to remove. Nice polish overall though.

Polishes -Revlon - Popular
rated 4 of 5
Tartlette 9/19/2012 1:10:00 PM

Revlon Popular is a beautiful polish! It is a light pink shade with large and small silver glitters that can be worn either on its own, or layered over other polish. It is a pink shade, however I do see some lilac tones as well depending on the lighting. The glitter is so subtle and adds a nice pop - nothing too over the top or tacky looking. The light colour looks nice with my very pale skin. Sometimes with my pale skin light pinks can make me look very washed out, but this one works very well for me! I had great coverage with only 2 coats. Drying time was good and lasting power was about 4 days and then I started getting some chipping. It was also fairly easy to remove this polish, even with the glitters. I would buy this polish again if I ran out - 2 thumbs up!

Polishes -Revlon - Whimsical
rated 2 of 5
Tartlette 9/19/2012 1:05:00 PM

I liked this polish, but I didn't love this polish. Whimsical is a sheer light blue polish with small & large pink & blue glitters. Admittedly I bought this polish because of all the hype surrounding it. If you are purchasing this to use as a top coat, I think you will like it. If you are purchasing this to use on its own, I think you will be disappointed. The first time I wore it I applied it on its own. 3 coats and it was still sheer, and my nails just looked - off. I looked sick or something. I tried it a second time using as a top coat and I liked it much better. As a top coat it adds a nice little pop of glitter. Lasting power was better as a top coat, terrible on its own for me. It chipped pretty quickly. Love the finish it gives though, almost gel-like. The glitters were also not terrible to remove like some are. This polish is also a good dupe for Deborah Lippman Glitter In The Air.

Polishes -Essie - Lady Like
rated 5 of 5
Tartlette 9/25/2011 10:34:00 AM

Would I repurchase? YES YES YES! I absolutely LOVE Essie's Lady Like! Currently I'm trying to limit the number of nail polishes I buy, but this I could not resist. The colour seems to change depending on the lighting, sometimes looking like a dusty pink, sometimes looking more dusty taupe-y purple-y cream. This colour looks very sophisticated on the nails. Application is great, goes on smooth and only takes 2 coats to perfection and is not streaky at all. Staying power is excellent - I wore for several days before getting small chips. I would definitely repurchase, and I have a feeling Lady Like is going to end up being one of my favourites.

Polishes -Essie - Show Me The Ring
rated 5 of 5
Tartlette 9/25/2011 10:27:00 AM

I absolutely adore this colour. Luckily I picked it up on sale, but I think it would be worth the full price. There is not another colour in my collection that is anything like Show Me The Ring. It is a very pearly, and depending on the light you're in the colour looks different. Some lights it looks light shimmery gold, some lights it leans more to the silver side. It is very flattering on my pale skin tone and makes my nails look clean but with a little bit of oomph. I am considering using this as my wedding colour for my destination next year but am still very unsure (any other suggestions are welcome please!). Application was great and only took 2 coats to get the look I wanted and was not streaky at all. I actually quite enjoy Essie's smaller brush. I would definitely repurchase.

Cleansers -L'Oreal - Go 360 Clean Deep Facial Cleanser for Sensitive Skin
rated 4 of 5
Tartlette 9/25/2011 10:19:00 AM

I really like this cleanser! My skin is combination, leaning more towards the oily side and VERY sensitive. I absolutely love the scrubber that comes with it! Neither the scrubber or the actual product irriates my skin or caused me any breakouts. I only need a very small drop and use the scrubber to work the product in my skin. After using the product, my face feels very clean, and never tight. My skin feels soft and I have no flakey patches on my face. I use this cleanser at night, and still use my Bliss Fabulous Foaming cleanser in the morning - absolutely love the combination between the two. I'm almost done my first bottle and will be repurchasing.

Polishes -Revlon - Gold Coin
rated 4 of 5
Tartlette 9/25/2011 10:11:00 AM

I really loved wearing this colour in the summer. It is a metallic, lighter NOT orange gold colour and looks perfect on my pale skin. In fact, most golds do not work on me, I'm so glad to find one that actually does! Application is fabulous, it looks good even after 1 coat (although I still put on 2). Gold Coin lasted several days before chipping, even just a little bit. One thing I will say though, is I found it very difficult to remove. Not sure if I'm the only one, but it was a pain to take off. Love it though, it's a unique colour and I don't own anything like it. Also can't beat the price for the quality. I would purchase again if I ever ran out.
