Lip Treatments -C.O. Bigelow - My Favorite Night Balm
SugarCelebi 12/10/2011 1:06:00 AM
Let me start by saying that I am an absolute lip balm addict; if I don't have lip balm on, my dry lips distract me from everything. However, despite my religious moisturizing, I would still get occasional peeling. Not bad, but enough to be noticeable. After a couple weeks of nightly use of this stuff, no more peeling! It has a pleasant vanilla-esque scent and taste, and the feel is very thick but not quite sticky, similar to Vaseline, which I suppose would be attributed to the petroleum jelly in it. Definitely buying again when I run out!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous False Fiber Lashes
SugarCelebi 12/6/2011 3:23:00 PM
Not a fan of this at all. I don't ask for much in a mascara, just that it isn't clumpy and that it doesn't smudge under my eyes, but this does both. I only ever put on one coat of mascara and still, clump city. It did lengthen though, just with clumps too. Usually I use a mascara till it's gone, even mediocre ones, but I can't use this.

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Guardian Angel Heat Protect N' Blow Out Lotion and Gloss Finish
SugarCelebi 10/24/2011 11:25:00 AM
I have to say, I'm very happy with this. I got this on sale at Shoppers for about $5 so it's win-win! I personally like the smell. I got this one because I blow dry every day and only really use a flat iron on my bangs, as my hair is naturally pretty straight. It's nice and lightweight and sprays in an even spritz. But what really made me notice the difference was how it works with my straightener. I lost my beloved Chi straightener in an unfortunate fuse-blow accident and bought a cheap replacement from Winners. It does its job, but I always felt like the plates were pulling at my hair, despite being ceramic! Not so with this stuff. Now it runs through without tugging and the shine is lovely. Definitely buying this again.

Polishes -China Glaze - Pink Voltage
SugarCelebi 4/3/2011 9:17:00 PM
Such a gorgeous hot pink! I've been on the lookout for the perfect one and this is it. I had one I bought while I was in Korea a while back, I don't know the brand, but I love this one way more. The blue flash really adds depth to the colour. The formula was typical for neon, three coats being perfect and flowing decently onto the nail. Those of you complaining that it dries matte, sorry to break it to you, but that's how neon colours are. Something about neon pigment causes it to dry as such. You're not going to find a neon pink or neon anything for that matter that dries shiny, so suck it up and use a top coat...we should all be using them anyway ;)

Mascara -Revlon - Revlon Grow Luscious Mascara
SugarCelebi 2/2/2011 10:59:00 AM
So far, this is probably my HG mascara. I haven't had a ton of luck with mascara but I love this! I don't know if it actually helps your lashes grow but it really does make them look longer and fuller, with no clumps. Then again, I only put one coat of mascara on, I hate when mascara looks unnatural. For my purposes though, this stuff works great! So why the 4-lippy rating? It does, unfortunately, smudge a bit on me. And it is hard to take off, even though I have the non-waterproof formula. But no matter.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Replenishing Lip Balm with Pomegranate Oil
SugarCelebi 1/5/2011 10:59:00 PM
My HG lip balm! I am a lip balm fiend so I have tried many, including lots of others in the Burt's Bees family. This one is for sure my favourite for a number of reasons. It moisturizes very well and I don't need to reapply for a long time. I personally like the smell a lot, and that's what initially made me try it. And I love that it has a bit of a tint! Very subtle, but that's all I need since I look like a clown if my lips are too dark. Love, love, love.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
SugarCelebi 1/5/2011 10:54:00 PM
I've tried 5 of the Burt's Bees lip balm (this, Honey, Pomegranate, Mango, and Acai) and this one is definitely my least favourite. I didn't know this one was so popular and frankly I don't know why it is. I find it very waxy and not moisturizing at all; I actually get peeling lips from this and I rarely have that issue. I gave it 2 lippies just because I do like the tingle. Besides that one good point though, it sucks. The fruity ones are by far the best.

Eyeliner -MAC - Liquidlast Liner - Point Black
SugarCelebi 12/12/2010 10:39:00 PM
Finally, the eyeliner to answer my prayers. This is the be-all and end-all of all liquid liners. Seriously, my HG, and I've never had one of those before. Since I have Asian eyes, eyeliner NEVER stays on for me. It always smudges or flakes and it is extremely annoying, even with primer and everything. But this stuff stays like no other. I don't wear liner very often because it doesn't stay, but with this I can wear eyeliner till the cows come home. The only thing is, it's kind of hard to get off, but it's a small price to pay for stuff that it basically indestructible.

Top/Base Coats -Essie - Good to Go! The Fastest Drying Top Coat
SugarCelebi 10/3/2010 10:50:00 PM
I really need to get a new bottle of this! I must say, colour me impressed. This top coat dries super fast and is nice and shiny, and it's a good consistency. It does drag if you're not careful but I've developed a technique! And it does chip, but I think that's my fault...my polish always chips like no tomorrow no matter my top coat. The reason I like it better than Seche Vite is that it doesn't shrink! Yay!

Top/Base Coats -OPI - RapiDry Top Coat
SugarCelebi 10/3/2010 10:45:00 PM
So far I've tried Seche Vite, Essie Good To Go, and this little bugger in the world of quick-dry top coats. This is definitely the worst one I've tried. Why? Here are my reasons: 1. Not nearly as quick-drying as the other two...SV and the Essie both completely dry within 5-10 minutes no problem, no matter what polish I have underneath. I used the OPI over 3 coats of China Glaze Liquid Leather, which, to be fair, does have a slow dry time, but even so I was still getting dents and sheet marks after waiting for 2 hours. Ridiculous. 2. It bubbles! Ew. 3. Not good for nail art at all, it drags like crazy. 4. Bad wear. Nails chip within a day. 5. Not worth the price at all. SV and Essie are both less expensive and work way better. Overall, throroughly disappointed. $14 wasted. I've used it a few times so I did give it a fair chance, but I still hate it. I'm going back to my Essie (SV shrinks way too much for my likings).

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Complete Salon Manicure in Hidden Treasure
SugarCelebi 9/12/2010 2:02:00 PM
As soon as I saw swatches of this, I knew I had to have it. After a 2-month long search, I finally found a lone bottle at Shoppers and squealed with excitement and bought it immediately. Of course now I have it I see it everywhere...But anyways. It makes every polish in the world look awesome. Seriously. It looks like glowing embers over black, makes green look like some sort of ancient Asian jade artwork, and just...I can't describe the amazing. Just buy it.

Top/Base Coats -Seche Vite - Dry Fast Top Coat
SugarCelebi 6/20/2010 11:17:00 PM
I love this topcoat, it's so conveniet! It dries super fast, which is something I had a problem with with other topcoats. I'd be sitting there for 2 hours doing nothing and still ruin my nails, but with Seche I can wait 5 minutes and go do light work without a problem. I don't find the thickness to be an issue, and I never get bubbles. Nice shine too! But my reason for the 4-lippy rating is the shrinking issue...my tips are left uncovered after I use this stuff. It's not a deal breaker though, as I will defs repurchase!

Moisturizers -Biotherm - Aquasource for Combination Skin
SugarCelebi 5/19/2010 2:37:00 AM
I've been using this moisturizer for almost 3 years and I couldn't imagine life without it. While it is a bit on the expensive side, nothing else I've tried is as good. As a person who's always running late, the gel is extremely convenient and absorbs in minutes so my face is ready for makeup. It's just the right amount of moisture and doesn't clog my pores. In fact, I've found that when I've tried to switch to other moisturizers my skin breaks out and gets blotchy. I also love the faint but fresh scent it has. My only issue is with the jar, because firstly, jars contaminate easily and secondly, it's glass, which is just not a good idea for a clumsy person like me. I've broken it before and wasted half a jar of moisturizer. But aside from that, this stuff is 100% worth the price!

Fragrances -Coty - Harajuku Lovers by Gwen Stefani - G
SugarCelebi 5/19/2010 2:30:00 AM
I've been wearing this perfume for over a year, and I still love it. Coconutty and tropical and sweet. It completely feels like my signature, all my scarves smell like it, and my friends describe it as how I smell. The only thing I will note is that it smells different in the summer...like I almost felt sick when I wore it. As soon as it started to cool down again it was fine. Strange. No matter, though, I will definitely continue to buy and wear!

Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - DUO eyelash adhesive
SugarCelebi 4/25/2010 1:21:00 PM
I have a burning hatred for this eyelash glue. As a dancer, I have to wear false eyelashes for the stage, and I often need them to last for around 12 hours. I was in need of some new glue, so I purchased this since it was the only one I could find at the store. BIG MISTAKE. It's weird and goopy coming out of the tube. Initially it seemed to stick well, but after about an hour my lash started to come off. I had to reapply multipule times throughout the day, which I've never had to do with my previous glue. I ended up tossing it and I found that the store also carried Lise Watier glue, which works fabulously. Maybe my bad experience was due to the heat and sweat, but it certainly didn't work for my purpose.
