SO has suffered from dandruff this winter season. We bought this shampoo and his flakes are gone! He uses it just as the directions say. 2x a week and after a week or two of using it, his hair has drastically improved. It smells a bit odd after you take a shower, but as long as you use conditioner, your hair doesn't have that smell afterwards. Also, I've noticed that his hair is much softer! Score!

Tinted Moisturizer -Stila - Sheer Color Tinted Moisturizer SPF 15

This one tube of TM has lasted me over a year! I love it because it gives a good coverage (for a TM) and keeps my skin so soft! I like to dust my MAC Mineralize powder over it for staying power. It gives my skin a nice glow without the heavy feeling of foundation! As far as I can tell, it doesn't wear off that easily either. I use this in Tone. (NC25-30ish) So, if you are hesitant because of the price, rest assured, it will last you awhile :)

Treatments -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Stress Control 3-in-1 Hydrating Acne Treatment [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
SlowRnB 3/23/2009 10:02:00 AM

I've waited a while to review this product. I've so far used 3 bottles of this and I'm ready to call it my HG. I have dry, acne prone skin. It's hard to find a product that will help prevent acne in addition to not drying it out. This stuff has the perfect balance. The scent is awesome, like cucumbers, and it's a lightweight moisturizing gel. I slap it on after I wash my face and wait for it to dry, then I put on moisturizer. I swear this product has tremendously helped improve the texture of my skin and prevented pimples. I haven't seen it lately in my drugstores though and I'm getting very scared. I really hope they haven't discontinued it.

Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous Lipgloss - Nude Lustre
rated 5 of 5
SlowRnB 3/10/2009 10:50:00 AM

I love the Super Lustrous glosses by Revlon! One of my favorite drugstore items. Only $7 and just as good as the h/e ones IMO. If you need a basic gloss, then look no further. They aren't tacky, they don't smell, they last a long time, and the colors are awesome! I have Glossy Rose and Nude Lustre. A great no frills gloss for a good price. You can buy all of them if you wish :P Nude Lustre is a neutral nude peach with fine microshimmer. Honestly, I can't see the microshimmer unless I'm in direct sunlight. In any other light, it's a light glossy wash of perfect nude.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sketch eye shadow

Sketch is awesome! In the pan it looks dark burgandy/plum. You can sheer it out to a nice purple, or pack it on the crease and have a deep plum. It's gorgeous for us brown/green/hazel gals. This is becoming my HG crease shadow. I love pairing it with browns, golds, pinks, purples, plums, you name it! Easy to blend and makes for awesome jewel toned smokey eyes. This one is sexy girls.

Lipstick -MAC - Hue
rated 3 of 5
SlowRnB 3/2/2009 3:48:00 PM

Overall, the color is pretty. A sheer, milky strawberry. However, the texture is off putting :\ This is a glaze finish and although it's glossy on it's own, it seems to have a drying effect as well. My lips flake a little with Hue. In order to wear it, I have to prep my lips with a balm, then dab it on, and put on gloss over it. The best combo I found for Hue so far is pairing it was Nymphette lipglass. Love the color, hate the formula. Subtract one lippie **UPDATE** If you have ANY sort of rough patch or flake on your lip, it will show. Also sinks into lip cracks too easily. So sad. This formula blows.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Hug Me
rated 5 of 5
SlowRnB 3/2/2009 12:02:00 PM

I have finally ventured into the world of lipsticks. I was always a lipgloss gal. Curious as to what was so great about the little tubes, I went into MAC one day deciding to buy one. I purchased Hug Me, and now I have an obsession! This is the perfect nude lip for my skintone! I have dark brown/black hair and light/medium skin. NC25-30. Hug Me is a neutral medium caramel/pink color that is like a your lip but better shade. It glides on smoothly and has a silky finish. It isn't drying like other lipsticks. I will rebuy!

Treatments -Kerastase - Oleo-Relax Serum
rated 5 of 5

Expensive, yet worth it. Smells faintly of flowers, is light, very liquidy, and does not weigh hair down. I have long hair past my shoulders and I use two pumps to cover my whole head. I straightened my hair and oh my lord. My hair was the shiniest I have ever seen it, not to mention silky and frizz free. I love this stuff. I've tried dozens of serum's. This one is top o' the line.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Chihuahua
rated 4 of 5
SlowRnB 2/23/2009 9:41:00 AM

NARS glosses IMO generally have a weird odor to them (rubber) hence, the subtraction of one lippie for Chihuahua. However, I love the texture and color of this gloss! It's sleek and slippery on my lips, yet lasts longer than my Chanel Glossimers. Chihuahua is a neutral medium pink. It sheers out to a cute light strawberry color on my lips. It brightens my light olive complexion and looks great with gold tones. This gloss reminds me of summer :)

Eye Shadow -MAC - Twinks
rated 5 of 5
SlowRnB 2/23/2009 9:39:00 AM

Upon first glance, this eyeshadow just looks like a regular brown. When I compared it to my other browns, (Bronze, Tempting, etc) you can see that Twinks has a hint of plum to it. I have hazel eyes, so plum is the perfect color to enhance them. This is practically HG status. It brings out my hazel eyes in the best way. I pair it with Sketch (a dark burgandy/purple) in the crease and Shroom (light ivory)to highlight and it's plummy perfection :) Meep.

Hair Styling Tools -GHD - Original GHD Hairstyling Iron with Ceramic Technology
rated 5 of 5
SlowRnB 1/21/2009 8:22:00 AM

So...I admit I've always been curious about the ghd and how it got the reputation it has as the best straightener. I always bought my straighteners from Sallys Beauty supply, and they did the job for the price, but they burned my hair pretty bad and always died within 9 months or so. I figured I spent $170 on straighteners every year anyway, and this is how I justified getting a GHD. I bought my MK4 styler from Overstock.com for $175! This is why I love it. 1. It does not snag and break my hair AT ALL. 2. It straightens with just one pass through hair as opposed to 3-4 with my old ones so it only takes me 15 minutes to get perfect hair! 3.The outside doesn't get too hot and it doesn't get too hot on my hair. 4. It leaves a nice little shine :) 5. My straight hair has wayy more volume so it looks natural! I love this thing. Worth every penny.

Liquid -Lancome - Photogenic Lumessence Light Mastering & Line-Smoothing Makeup
rated 5 of 5
SlowRnB 12/24/2008 9:31:00 PM

I do not find many foundations that work for my dry skin. I *love* this foundation. It's everything I want. It gives me light/medium coverage, doesn't dry me out, looks like my natural skin (it melts right in) and it gives my skin a slight glow. There is no shimmer or glitter in this foundation. It makes my skin appear flawless. A few dots is all I need of this foundation.

Blush -Lancome - blush subtil miel glace
rated 5 of 5
SlowRnB 12/22/2008 9:13:00 AM

Maybe I'm darker than I thought but this blush is very very sheer and light on my NC30 skin. The other reviews are saying it's a rosey nude, but all I get on my skin is a dewy nude that just slighty emphasizes my natural flush. Nothing wrong with that, it's exactly what I wanted. This is my most natural blush and I love it. The shimmer in it is so finely milled that it glides on. I love the Lancome rose smell. I think this blush is great for a natural look. Will repurchase. It's so hard to find a blush that doesn't turn orange on me.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Miss Dior Cherie
rated 5 of 5
SlowRnB 12/16/2008 8:23:00 AM

A classier gourmet scent. With one spray, it gives me instant glamour. There is a sweetness to this perfume, but not sickeningly so. It's appropriate for 20+ year old ladies who are still a kid at heart. I smell strawberries with a slight salty caramel glaze and a rich musk. As the scent fades, the strawberry goes away. I love this perfume. My fave is Coco Mademoiselle, but this is a close 2nd.

Eyeliner -Unlisted Brand - Hashmi - Kajal Stick - Black

Nothing gets better than this. $3. Dirt cheap. Found it at my local Middle Eastern grocery store. Comes in blue or red tubes. Cheap enough to buy spares. Gives the most intense, sultry, black color. Stays all day. Love this stuff.
