Lip Treatments -Maybelline - Baby Lips lip balm
rated 5 of 5

This is the new lip balm range from Maybelline. They have four flavours - Energizing orange Smoothing Cherry Refreshing Menthol Antioxidant Berry I have Energizing orange and Smoothing Cherry. They are realllllly good lip balms. They are the sort of silky paste feeling balms, like blistex silk and shine, as opposed to the silky gel feeling balms like blistex daily lip conditioner. The scents are pleasant and not too strong. The orange one has a nice sherbety orange scent. The cherry one is sort of a cross between cherry and peach. It's much nicer than I thought it would be. I was anticipating the sort of fake cherry lolly type of taste. I got cherry second because I forgot to bring a lip balm with me when I went out today and I was desperate. I think I like it better than the orange one. They're really nice and moisturising. I think my other lip balms are going to be relegated to wallow in my stash. I really like how they come on cardboard backing which means that they don't need to have all the product information on the tube. So all it has is the super cute logo and the scent on the tube. No ugly barcode or anything like that. The writing is printed directly onto the tube as well which is nice. ♥

Shampoo -Batiste - Tropical Dry Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
Shamisen 1/30/2011 5:52:00 AM

This is a really good dry shampoo. I got it for free in a sample bag, and I am so glad I did because I had been wanting to try one but I'd been too stingy. And now I realise that dry shampoo is a miracle product. Haha. I have very fine hair, and my fringe/bangs get limp and stringy by the end of the day, no matter what I do. I wash my hair daily and it's just a fact of life. Which means that until now, if I was going out at night, I would have to rewash at least my fringe. NOW I just spray a couple of blasts of batiste into it and WHOA volume and freshness!! I love it. The only thing I don't love is the smell. I am really not a fan of tropical coconut smells. That's the only reason I put will not repurchase. I will probably get another one in a different scent when it runs out. I also have the Paul Mitchell dry shampoo and that one smells really nice but it's not *quite* as good as the batiste.

Eye Primer -Fyrinnae - Pixie Epoxy
rated 5 of 5
Shamisen 1/30/2011 5:49:00 AM

I got this with my first order from fyrinnae, and I have been using it daily ever since. I love it as a base for all of my eyeshadows. I just don't get creasing anymore. They say you only need a tiny bit and they are right. I just dab the wand on my finger, rub two fingers together and then smooth it onto my lids. Then I apply my eyebrow powder or my blush to let it dry a little, and then I go back and do my shadow. I've had it for months and there's finally some usage showing in the wand, a hole in the product maybe 1cm or less in height. It's going to last for AAGGEESSSSS.

Concealers -Lancome - Effacernes

This stuff is awesome. I have tried so so many concealers over the years and this one is just top notch. It just does not crease. I love it! You hardly need to use any at all. So even though it's a bit on the expensive side, it lasts forever. I got it in shade Clair II and it's perfect for me. I'm darker than NW15 but less pink than NW20. I use it on my spots too and it works great for that as well.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Suvana- Paw Paw and Honey Certified Organic Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5
Shamisen 11/23/2010 4:24:00 AM

This is nice stuff. It smells like chocolate and honey. I mostly use it as a lip balm, and not on my cuticles as well like I do with the Lucas version. No particular reason why not though... It is more expensive than the Lucas but it smells much nicer as a lip balm too :)

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lucas' Papaw Ointment

Shamisen 11/23/2010 4:22:00 AM

This stuff is fantastic. Whenever my lips get chapped, doesn't seem to matter what other lip balm I try, nothing gets them into shape again as quickly as this. I also use it on my cuticles and it's magnificently moisturising and gets them looking beautiful in no time. I keep a tube in my bag allll the time.

I've been using this on my chin for a few weeks now. I think that initially it made my congestion improve. I'm not so sure if it's continuing to improve or not though. It's not getting worse at least. EDIT I started using this again lately and I do think my skin is doing better than it used to. I'm just applying it on my chin where I get congestion and my congestion does seem to be improving.

Mascara -Avon - superSHOCK Mascara
rated 1 of 5
Shamisen 9/12/2010 8:31:00 PM

I'm just supershocked at how bad it is!!! It's one of those terribly pointless mascaras that just makes your lashes black, doesn't add length or volume. I suppose you would call it a defining mascara? I spent ages layering it up this morning to try to get some decent lashes, but it started to go clumpy after a couple of coats. It does separate nicely I suppose, but if you stop where you get decent separation, you get basically no effect. Anyone who likes full and soft might like it. I think the name is very misleading. I think it should have been called superBORING!

Bath Treatments -Jurlique - Tranquil Bubble Bath
rated 5 of 5
Shamisen 9/10/2010 2:52:00 AM

I bought this from National Pharmacies with my members card so I got it for only $16 (normally $21) I figured out after far too long that Lush is actually very expensive on a cost-per-bath basis, and that spending $20 or so on a bottle of beautiful bubble bath is actually much better value! This stuff smells really lovely. The smell is predominantly lavender but the list of extracts on the label is amusingly long and it does smell more complex than just lavender. Very nice. I had a bath with it the day I got it and my husband was jealous and ran a fresh one right after I did with the same beautiful bubbles. Good for men too! :) I found it to be non-drying and very bubbly. No more Lush for me I don't think.

Eyeliner -Prestige - Total Intensity Eyeliner-Intense Olive 05
rated 5 of 5
Shamisen 9/10/2010 2:49:00 AM

This is my favourite green eyeliner by far. The pencil is so lovely and soft, smooth and blendable, but it also seems to last a long time. I use it just in the base of my lashes and it really enhances how green my eyes appear. I find it wears just as well as the MAC pearlglide eyeliners which were the best wearing I had found til I found these. I won't be wasting my money on MAC again!

Eye Shadow -Fyrinnae - Loose Eyeshadow in Valhalla
rated 5 of 5
Shamisen 9/10/2010 2:47:00 AM

I got this as my free sample in my last order and I'm so glad I did. It's not a colour I would have ordered based on the description and swatch photo, and not a colour I would have even expected to suit me. But when I tried it out I was amazed by how GORGEOUS it is!!! It's pale purple, but it makes me look more lively and more awake. I always found purples to make me look more tired until this one. I have green eyes and it brings out the greenness so much, particularly when I wear it with olive green eyeliner. I have had so many compliments on my eyeshadow when I wear this one too - from people who don't normally notice such things. I'll definitely be ordering a full size when this sample runs out!!

Eye Shadow -Fyrinnae - kurisumasu!
rated 5 of 5
Shamisen 9/10/2010 2:44:00 AM

I got a sample of this and I can tell I'm going to run out and need the full size. It's so pretty - pinker than it appears in the website photo. It goes on to my skin even pinker again. But it makes my green eyes look so vividly green, and it's so flattering!! Easy to apply once I got the technique down of picking up a little bit and then rubbing my brush in the lid of the jar to distribute the powder into the bristles. I never really could be bothered with loose eyeshadow until I tried Fyrinnae and I am hooked now!!!

Liquid -Maybelline - SuperStay Makeup - New Version
rated 5 of 5
Shamisen 7/16/2010 2:18:00 AM

I love this stuff. Normally foundation breaks me out so I only reserve it for special occasions. This stuff does not break me out!! It's a perfect colour match for me as well. I wear sand beige, which is shade 2 (201?) and it's just right. I get matched as NW15 at mac but i am less pink than NW15. This is like a neutral NW15. It wears really well. Looks great and matte set with pressed powder, holds my blush in place all day, also works great with no powder over the top, gives me a dewy finish. It definitely lasts all day and I would call it a medium to full coverage. I don't need much concealer when I use it at all. But it also doesn't look mask-like or cakey. I have applied it with a brush, sponge and my fingers, I prefer my fingers. The only thing I don't like is that it's a stupid glass bottle with an open mouth. I bought a mineral power maybelline foundation taht is totally the wrong colour so I might ditch that, clean out the bottle and transfer this stuff into the nice squeezy bottle so I stop wasting so much when I tip it out. ♥

Hair -TiGi - Bed Head Self Absorbed
rated 4 of 5
Shamisen 6/30/2010 1:44:00 AM

I bought the huge pump packs of this shampoo and conditioner a couple of weeks ago. The smell is nice, like oranges and grapefruits, it doesn't linger in my hair which is a plus for me. It doesn't cause bacne or jawline breakouts as far as I can tell. What I *have* noticed is that I am experiencing less hair fall than I used to. I have been losing a lot of hair lately but it seems to be less with this stuff. I was surprised enough to notice that, but I also used to take the hair I lost each day and rub it between my hands to form a little ball that is easy to throw in the bin. My hair won't rub into a little ball anymore - it's too strong and silky. I am very pleasantly surprised!!

Scrubs -Clinique - 7 Day Scrub Cream Rinse Off Formula
rated 1 of 5
Shamisen 6/15/2010 1:01:00 AM

This scrub caused a bunch of large breakouts on my chin. Nasty stuff. It does rinse off pretty nice and clean. I don't seem to do well with microfine scrubs but this one seemed a bit less fine than others I have had problems with, so I thought it might be ok...... I won't be repurchasing. It should be called 7-day pimple fest cream instead.
