Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Lip Gloss--all shades
PrettyDeath 9/17/2012 9:46:00 PM
These are seriously my favorite glosses of all time. I love the packaging, I love the applicator, I love the formula and the color selections, I love everything. I have 4 of these glosses. I have Soft Brown, Soft Coral, Rich Pink, and Rich Nude. Soft Brown is a shimmery champagne gold gloss. It's very light and sparkly. It has gold and silver shimmer. On lips it looks amazing. It's not overly glittery or frosty. Just shiny and shimmery. Soft Coral is a pinky coral with gold shimmer and glitter. It's very sheer but makes lips look rosy, shiny and shimmery. Rich Pink is a muted brown pink that's a creamy opaque color with no frost, shimmer or glitter. It's very smooth and makes lips a nice natural pink. Riche Nude is my favorite, but it's a really hard color to describe. It's not quite sheer, but not quite opaque either. It's a red toned brown with hot pink and red shimmer in it. On the lips it looks like a sheer brown toned berry with shimmer. The packaging is really nice. It's small and cute. Very travel friendly. The applicator is slanted and works well. The gloss doesn't have a smell or taste. It's very slick and moisturizing. It lasts long. Not super long, but long enough to last through some drinks. I would recommend these to anyone. They're the perfect gloss, and they go well alone, or over lipstick!

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Le Gloss
PrettyDeath 9/17/2012 8:21:00 PM
I love these glosses. I currently only own 2, but I use them quite often. I have "Nude Illusion" and "Golden Splash". Nude Illusion is a very light, shimmery and glittery (but fine glitter, not big chunks) golden beige. Golden Splash, my favorite, is a bright peachy coral with gold shimmer. They both smell and taste of sweet vanilla, but it's not over-powering. Both are smooth and non sticky. They last for quite some time, I would say around 3-4 hours.

Lips -L'Oreal - Colour Riche Balm
PrettyDeath 9/17/2012 8:18:00 PM
I quite like these little balms. I put them on par with Revlon's Lip Butters. I can't really compare them, considering they both have their pro's and con's and have major differences. In terms of moisture, I would have to give the edge to L'Oreal's. In terms of color, Revlon's takes the cake. But both smell nice, like subtle vanilla, (with L'Oreal's being stronger and also having the faint smell of sunscreen.) Revlon's Lip Butters offer a far better selection of colors. Revlon's are much more pigmented as well, but that's why I sometimes reach for L'Oreal's more. I often want a nice subtle color. I purchased the Colour Riche Balms in colors "Nourishing Nude" and "Plush Plum", Nourishing Nude is very MLBB, sort of being a more moisturizing verion of "Fairest Nude". Don't let the 'nude' make you wary. I have very pigmented lips (very dark pink) and this was definitely noticeable on my lips. However, since a natural color, it may not be enough bang for some people. Nourishing Nude is a cream with no frost, shimmer, or sparkle. It's close to opaque. Plush Plum isn't as plum as you would think. It leans towards a berry red and is quite pigmented, but not very opaque. It's very sheer. Sort of like Clinique's "Black Honey". Plush Plum has very fine gold shimmer. It's probably my favorite as far as color, but I still reach for Nourishing Nude the most because it goes with everything. All in all a good product, I would recommend it to anyone wishing the Lip Butters were more buttery and moist. :)

BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream
PrettyDeath 9/17/2012 4:47:00 PM
I will admit, I haven't tried an actual Asian BB cream. I definitely plan to, but haven't yet for the simple fact that I'm impatient and haven't wanted to wait for the shipping time. Anyway, before this I had tried L'Oreal's BB cream which was a complete fail for me. So I went out and purchased Maybelline's BB cream in light to medium. I was really impressed with the color, as it matched my skintone perfectly. (I'm a light to medium yellow toned gal.) The coverage is medium, it covers my pimples and scars and almost completely reduces any redness while brightening and evening everything out. It didn't make me more oily at all, even though I have oily skin. In fact, it really helped to control my oil and even help clear up my acne because the moisture was causing my skin to produce less oil. It made my skin appear dewy and fresh, and never look oily. Towards the middle of wear time I did apply a powder just to freshen up, and it looked good. This product had no offensive odors, and the consistency was a bit runny but blended easy and absorbed into skin well. The SPF was a very good touch as well. Over all I love this product and recommend it to anyone, even those who want a matte look because with a small amount of finishing powder, you easily change dewy to matte. I am already on my second tube and almost through that. I feel this will be great in the fall and winter to add a little moisture and glow to your skin. :)

BB Cream -L'Oreal - Magic Skin Beautifier BB Cream
PrettyDeath 9/17/2012 4:23:00 PM
Terrible. This is the first product I've had where I could not find any redeeming qualities. I wanted to like this product because I LOVE L'Oreal and love everything I have tried by them previously, however this BB cream was a fail. First off, there is no SPF. I thought I could overlook that just this once. I am light to medium and yellow toned, and I purchase this product in light. The first time I tried it, I used a sponge applicator and it seemed to apply fine, even a tad too light, because the sponge was probably absorbing most of the color. I tried it the next day by applying it with my fingers, and no kidding, it was oompa loompa orange and way too dark. It looked like spray tan gone wrong all over my face. So, if you want to go through the trouble and waste some of the product, you could get by using this with a sponge and probably be fine. But I recommend opting for Maybelline's Dream Fresh BB, because the color selection is much better and accurate, and it has much better coverage.

Concealers -Rimmel - Hide the Blemish
PrettyDeath 8/5/2012 9:16:00 PM
I must have purchased the newer formula or release of this product, because mine looks nothing like in the pictures on here, as it has a beige colored tube with a clear cap. I purchased this in 103 Soft Honey, which is the medium color of the three offered, and I was really pleased with it as it matches my skin color perfectly, which is rare for me as I usually have a hard time finding a color of concealer that matches me well. They usually end up too light or too pink. This one is exactly the color of my skin once on. I think it hides my blemishes well. I usually apply concealer above my primer, however by mistake one I applied it under my primer, and it actually concealed much better! Although I'm not sure if anyone would want to try that, since one of the main reasons for a primer is to protect your skin from all the gunk you put atop it, haha. But either above or below the primer, I think this concealer is one of the best I have used, drugstore wise. It blends easily, but doesn't blend completely off like CoverGirl's or Maybelline's, dries completely without becoming greasy or staying moist, and most importantly, doesn't break me out. I will definitely be purchasing again.

Bronzers -Wet 'n' Wild - Ticket to Brazil
PrettyDeath 8/5/2012 9:05:00 PM
Of all the bronzers I have tried, which is many many many, this is by far the best one. It beats out Neutrogena, NYC, Hard Candy, Milani, Urban Decay, and Benefit. It's shimmery, which some don't like, and when you see the product in the pan it definitely looks scary because it appears to have mega glitter. However, once applied, it doesn't look glittery at all, it looks like a natural, shimmery glow. Like you're out in the sun on a hot day. I have looked at myself out in the natural light with a mirror and saw no glitter. This bronzer is dark, and a little goes a long way, but as long as you use a light hand and blend, it will look natural. I have light/medium yellow toned skin, and it works well on me. It's not orange in the least, especially compared to the other bronzers I have tried. It's super blendable and although shimmery, still works well for contouring because it's dark. I would recommend to anyone who wants a darker, natural looking tan and/or contour.

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Mega Plush
PrettyDeath 8/5/2012 8:57:00 PM
I try to buy different mascaras for different reasons, for example, I usually buy 1 or 2 black, dramatic mascaras for when I'm feeling glam or going out, and 1 or 2 brownish black mascaras for a natural everyday look. I still have my Urban Decay Lush Lash mascara, and Maybelline's Falsies, but my Covergirl professional mascara in brown black was almost gone, so I was looking for something different. After researching many mascaras for one that was good and kept lashes soft, I decided on Maybellines Mega Plush. I purchased it in brownish black and it works like a charm. It volumizes, lengthens, and is smooth, a tad on the wet side (but not runny, just not thick) and never clumps. You can apply 3 coats easy without any clumps. It does take a minute longer to dry than most thicker formula mascaras, but nothing too majorly long. The bending brush hasn't given my a problem at all, in fact it actually helps application for me. The huge brush was what made me hesitant to purchase this mascara, but after trying it I'm glad I took the risk because the big brush doesn't get in the way at all. It helps to separate your lashes, and does so quite nicely. This mascara doesn't hold a curl well if you curl only before application, but if you curl before and after, it holds all day. I will definitely be repurchasing this mascara. It makes my lashes more defined, thicker and longer all while keeping them soft and natural looking.

Highlighters -Hard Candy - Moon Glow Luminizing Powder
PrettyDeath 7/23/2012 6:05:00 PM
This is a great product I stumbled upon by looking at swatches of Hard Candy glosses on google images. liked the swatch I saw, so I bought it and was so glad I did. I was pleasantly surprised by every aspect of this product. It wasn't too shimmery, too frosty, too pigmented or too sheer. It's a subtle wash of shimmer with small, finely milled gold glitter. The glitter isn't overwhelming at all, it's hardly noticeable, to me anyway, even in the sun. You can see bits of shimmer here and there, but not big chunks or anything remotely glitterbomb. Just shimmer with small specks of gold. I don't know how it would look on someone with very dark skin, as the powder looks white in the pan. I have light/medium olive skin with yellow undertones, and this worked well for me. The packaging is a sturdy shimmery white compact, with a clear lid, and once opened, if you continue opening it a mirror is revealed under the product and a cute little pink heart shaped sponge that says Hard Candy. The mirror says "get ready....get set...glow". I adore it. I like to use this under my brows, on my cheek bones, down my nose, on my cupids bow and on collar bones. I highly recommend this to anyone who wants nice, subtle shimmer and isn't afraid of a smidgen of glitter. ;) Edited for a few spelling errors. Sorry about that!

Lips -Hard Candy - World Balmination Glossy Tinted Lip Balm
PrettyDeath 7/23/2012 5:57:00 PM
I have these in "Good Girl" and "Starfish". Good Girl is a peachy pink nude with a hint of shimmer, and Starfish is a coral that is completely matte and glossy. I love both, however Good Girl has better color payoff. They both moisturize really well and smell and taste divine, like lemon sugar! It's faint, and not overpowering. The packaging is really cute, and each balm has a different image on the tube. My only issue is the fact that the balm doesn't roll all the way down, so you have to be careful opening and closing the cap. Other than that, these are one of my favorite drugstore balms. I hope to try Bridal Blush and Lovestruck soon.

Blush -Hard Candy - Fox in a Box (all colors)
PrettyDeath 7/23/2012 5:44:00 PM
I purchased this product in "Smooth Talker" Which is a very good dupe for Benefit's Sugarbomb blush. The only difference is Smooth Talker is a bit more peachy pink, whereas Sugarbomb is more pink. There are four squares in the blush, one being a golden peach, a lavender toned mauve, a light pink, and a darker pink. This blush does have some light golden shimmer, but it's not overwhelming at all, and much better (in my opinion) than their baked blushes because it's more shimmer specks than straight up frosty, which looks really bad if you have any acne scars or wrinkles (I have acne scars). Overall, I like this blush a lot, I haven't had a problem with the packaging it comes in, and I've never attempted to use the brush it comes with, which although cute, looks totally useless. I hope to try "Spicy and Sweet" sometime soon. I recommend this product to anyone who can't afford Sugarbomb, or just wants a cute, peachy pink blush that's natural and glam at the same time.

Bronzers -New York Color - Sun 2 Sun Bronzing Powder
PrettyDeath 7/6/2012 6:57:00 PM
I purchased this product in the shade Bronze Gold. One side is a deep terracotta color with very fine shimmer. The second color is a bright gold with shimmer. The deep color is great for contouring, while the gold is great for highlighting. The gold is also great as a quick and easy eyeshadow. I am light/medium, yellow warm toned, and this does not appear orange on me. Apply with a light hand on both colors though, because they are very pigmented. Be sure to apply after your base thoroughly dries, otherwise you will be streaky. Lastly, the packaging is a little chinsy, as the lid just sets on, but for me it sits on securely and tight, and I haven't had an issue with it. That's not to say others won't or haven't. All in all, I highly recommend this product.

Bronzers -New York Color - Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny 720
PrettyDeath 7/6/2012 6:30:00 PM
I am light-medium yellow warm skinned, and this didn't turn orange on me at all. However, I applied very lightly using the 3 sweep and then used the Sun 2 Sun in Bronze Gold over it. I think Sunny is a warm matte tan that's very natural. I do recommend that you let your base dry completely before applying, otherwise you will have streaks. I highly recommend this product to anyone who wants a matte bronzer that's light and natural. It's great for contouring.

Lips -New York Color - Smooch Proof Lip Stain
PrettyDeath 7/4/2012 9:54:00 PM
These lipstains are amazing. They beat the heck out of the Revlon ones, in my honest opinion. The tip is thinner and more pointed for better lining, and the color lasts all day. I went to McDee's with my boyfriend, had nuggets, some fries and a drink (mind you greasy food) and the lipstain was completely in tact afterwards. I purchased in Persistent Pink (very natural and neutral pink), Forever Freesia (purple toned pink), Never Ending Nude (a slightly pinkish nude), Champagne Stain (a bold red toned pink), and Berry Long Time (a deep purple berry). I was happy with all colors. They are also very moisturizing. Highly recommend.

Lipstick -Revlon - Just Bitten Kissable Balm Stain - Honey
PrettyDeath 7/4/2012 9:48:00 PM
Honey is a very natural color, although it doesn't look that way based on the packaging and the inside product. In the tube and swatched, it seems to be a sort of pinky brown with mauve undertones. It's very MLBB. I adore it. It has a slight golden sheen. Product is moisturizing, and twists up for no sharpening. I highly recommend.
