Blush -Unlisted Brand - Nvey Eco Organic Blush
PetiteBrunnette 10/18/2006 7:52:00 AM
I bought this blush in color 953 which is slightly pink and brown. It's a very neutral color. I have a light skin tone (neutral Irish complexion). It comes in a small round compact with a clear snap top lid. A great organic blush and one of the first lines to expand outside pure mineral mineral cosmetics. It glides onto the skin and lasts. At night when I go to wash my face my cheeks are still rosy. I never have to reapply. I do wish it were a little less expensive but it's safe and gentle so the extra cost is worth it. I have had my compact for a while now and it hardly looks used so it will last a long time. -- If you are interested, it has a 0.3 (LOW RISK) EWG/Skin Deep report number. http://www.ewg.org/reports/skindeep2/search.php?main_cat=COLOR+COSMETICS. It's not listed, but you have can put in the ingredients and get a report, which is what I did. 4 means high risk so this product is probably the safest blush on the market and it is sold from a company in Ohio. Although, it is made in Australia. The ingredients are: ECO Organic Powder Blush -- Corn silk, zinc stearate, jojoba oil, caprylic capric triglyceride, natural vitamin E, vitamin C, vitamin A, chamomile extract. May contain: titanium dioxide, iron oxides.

Foundations -Gerda Spillman - Bio-Fond Cream-Make Up
PetiteBrunnette 10/17/2006 11:55:00 AM
I went to Gerda Spillman's website and bought a sample. Well, the sample is free but they charge $6.00 shipping. No complaints because at least they offer samples. I bought Bio-Fond in Weekend (good for fair and light skin tones) and the Bio-Blush in Crimson. By the way, the blush comes in one neutral yet beautiful color. The foundation is great. It is highly pigmented so you don't need very much at all and it covers everything. I have a red birthmark on my forehead (lighter than port wine stain) and it completely covers it. It banishes under eye circles with the opaque formula with ease. Because it is a cream, I apply it with my fingers since I only use it under my eyes, forehead and a little on the cheeks. It does not clog pores which surprises me since it was a creme. It does wear all day. I know you've heard this a million times before but this time it is true. It also has a skin softener which means it helps soften fine lines and wrinkles (if you have any) without making you look greasy or shiny. She has a celebrity cult following and after you try it you'll see why. The only downside is the cost....$57.75. But, it will last you a very long time (6 months or longer) so it you average it out that is about $10.00 per month. Oh, it also comes in a laundry list of colors. Says it "works for all skin types, complete sun protection, waterproof, breathable and great coverage." The ingredients are: Isopropyl Myristate, Mineral Oil, Carnauba Wax, Octoxynol-5, Squalane, Montan Acid Wax, Polyethylene, Cetearyl Ethylhexanoate, Lanolin Oil, Lecithin, Vitamin E (Tocopherol), Methylparaben, Propylparaben, Fragrance, Titanium Dioxide, Iron Oxides. The same ingredients are in the blush.

Concealers -Unlisted Brand - Nvey Eco Erase Corrective Make-up
PetiteBrunnette 9/22/2006 7:33:00 PM
I, like most women, have a few products that I like in every category. I am especially hard to please with concealers because they either don't cover enough, crease, make the "cover-up" look more noticable or simply won't wear for more than an hour. I also have a red birth mark on my forehead that requires covering or at least toning down. I should also mention that I'm 28, fair skin, brown hair, blue eyes. Okay, I received this concealer as a sample from Holistic Beauty (www.holisticbeauty.net) for $2.50. I purchased it purely because it was organic and was skeptical because it comes in one color only, "neutral." I would categorize this concealer as a neutralizer versus a concealer which is what we all want anyway. This concealer glides onto the skin and is anything but cake-like. It has a smooth texture that makes it thick enough to not be runny yet it spreads beautifully. It truly erases under eye circles and the birthmark on my forehead with very little product. A godsend since it costs $28.00. I think this product does what the Bare Escentuals Bisque promises. I have sensitive skin and this product is extremely gentle especially to under the eyes. The little tiny bumps that have ever present under my eyes since I started wearing makeup have disappeared since I started using this as my concealer as proof to how gentle it really is to the skin. I can't say enough good things, only that you should try it. The downside is the cost and also that it comes in one color only. If you have darker skin that it would highlight as well as conceal. I think it would be fine as long as you a foundation that matches your skin tone. This doesn't change colors at all. So, you could even apply it under the foundation. I don't wear much foundation so I usually apply this first, dust with powder and then move on to color. A recommended product! Visit them at www.econveybeauty.com. I have also tried the moisturizing foundation too... it's great! Since discovering Nvey Eco, I have discarded all my other makeup Clinique, Paint Cosmetiques and only kept my beloved Aubrey Organics translucent base powder.

Makeup Brushes -Aloette - 7 pc. brush set
PetiteBrunnette 9/11/2006 4:47:00 PM
I appreceiate everyone here at MUA who recommended these brushes and those who mentioned that they are identical (or very close) to Bobbi Brown's (BB) brushes. I was prepared to make the leap on spending a sizable amount to buy the BB brushes until I had the great luck of reading the reviews here. I bought these on Ebay for $20.50 plus shipping. The best purchase ever and I'm glad that I didn't spend all my hard earned money on the BB brushes. I found a great foundation brush and concealer brush at BellaBrush.com. So now I have a complete set of high quality brushes! Everything mentioned here is true! Highly recommended!

Concealers -Maybelline - EverFresh Concealer
PetiteBrunnette 8/11/2006 8:00:00 AM
I have this in "Fair" and it matches quite well with my light Irish skin tone. The price is excellent and the coverage is great for the first 4 hours of wear and then it needs to be touched up. I use this with Aubrey's translucent base powder on top. The only reason I probably won't rebuy is the ingredients. I prefer gentle organic makeup like Aubrey. I'm looking for a good non-titanium based concealer. But, in the meantime, this will do for under-eye circles and covering a red birthmark on my forehead. It almost completely covers both without caking, creasing or being shiny. My second favorite is Gabriel Cosmetics in Light.

Lip Liners -Yves Rocher - Luminelle Crayon Contour Levres
PetiteBrunnette 8/4/2006 9:29:00 AM
I bought this in Germany at the mall in two colors: #84547 Cuivre and #84792 Cassis. Cuivre is a brown burgundy ad Cassis is neutral brown. Both colors are beautiful for me... I am 28, pale/light skin, brown hair and blue eyes. They glide on the skin without hardly any pressure which is great but my less than steady hand makes it hard to put on properly without mistakes. I also find that it "chips" instead of stayig a solid line of color. Maybe it's just my dry skin type but thought it was worth mentioning. Otherwise, the colors are beautiful and options are always good.

Moisturizers -Aubrey Organics - Rosa Mosqueta Night Creme with ALA
PetiteBrunnette 7/5/2006 10:21:00 AM
I am 28 years old with dry, fair Irish skin and have had uneven skin tone problems for most of my life. My eye area has been the greatest struggle and is the worst offender to smooth skin texture. I have used the night crème for three days and I'm happy to report that my entire eye is visibly firmer than it has been in at least 3 years. I can’t believe how quickly it made a difference not just on my eyes but my entire face. The smooth texture it has created around my eyes is excellent and unbelievable because I never thought my skin would look so pretty. I am no longer self-conscious about how “aged” my eyes will look when I smile. I have not experienced any irritation which is very nice. The texture is quite light compared to how hard it works on repairing the skin. It is not heavy, greasy or oily. The packaging is a nice glass jar with a pump which dispenses a pea sized amount which is perfect. I use the Rose Mosqueta moisturizing cream and Lumessence during the day and only this night crème in the evenings. I am happy that this product has worked so well and it is affordable for me. Lancome Absolue replenishing cream costs $100 per 1.7 ounce. So, in addition to getting a phenomenal product, you are saving alot of $$$ if you are currently using Lancome! Also, this product is natural. IMO, Rose Mosqueta night crème is the finest organic night crème on the market. Recommended!

Skincare - Face -Bindi - Powder Cleanser
PetiteBrunnette 6/12/2006 7:31:00 PM
I use this as exfoliant scrub rather than a daily cleanser. The reason? It (the basic cleanser) has a gritty texture that "scrubs" your skin rather than purely cleansing it like regular cleansers. I am also afraid to use it under my eyes due to the texture. As an exfoilant it really works well and makes my skin very smooth and beautiful. But, since I have dry skin, I don't need a deep, gritt cleanser. It would be a good daily cleanser for those who have trouble with blackheads, pimples, etc. They would love how clean their face will feel. I do recommend this cleanser but you may not be able to use it as a daily cleanser depending on your skin type.

Foundations -Paint Cosmetiques - Liquid Foundation
PetiteBrunnette 6/11/2006 7:17:00 PM
Armani who? This is what you will be saying after trying this incredible foundation. It is water-based and highly pigmented so you need very little. So, the result is an impeccable foundation that isn't heavy. It glides on like a dream... or more specifically... like silk. It is a light whipped silk consistency which I love. It honestly is the easiest foundation I have ever worn. It also finishes beautifully... no uneven coverage, no catching on dry spots, or irritation even for my sensitive skin. It also contains Vitamin A and E and comes complete with SPF 8. It gives you a beautiful "Armani" runway glow without the high pricetag. The price at www.paintcosmetiques.com is $34. I use the color "pretty" and it works well with my fair/light Irish skin tone. I also have to say that Naeem is so helpful and every email I sent regarding color selection was answersed quickly and politely. The entire Paint Cosmetiques line is getting rave reviews from magazines around the country. A quick stroll of his website showcases the rave reviews complete with images! The site is very user friendly and the products are all amazing. Be sure to check out the blushes, eye shadow, lips colors, etc. They are all excellent products and I couldn't recommend this line any more highly! A must try! Update: After getting the full version, I saw the ingredients contained talc. So, I opted to shelve it. A shame since it is such a nice product. I am using Nvey Eco products (100% organic) right now and like them better.

Concealers -Cover Girl - fresh complexion concealer
PetiteBrunnette 6/10/2006 3:57:00 PM
I picked this up as a temporary fix while my new Gabriel concealer was on its way. I like this concealer the most because it completely deflates my under eye bags that my nighttime eye cream doesn't get rid of. I bought this in "fair" and it really does cover any darkness I have and gives uniform color for under my eyes. I have inherited under eye darkness (not excessive) and puffiness from the women in my family so the fact that it is able to wipe that away is amazing. But, I will not purchase this again, despite how cheap it is, because I don't like the laundry list of ingredients it contains. I bought Gabriel Cosmetics under eye concealer which I hope works as well with under eye puffiness and coverage. If not, on very puffy eye days I might still be tempted to use it. I haven't had any problems with the packaging but then again I don't travel with it. Bottom line: If the shades match your skin tone then you'll like and the price is right.

Powder -Aubrey Organics - Natural Translucent Base
PetiteBrunnette 5/24/2006 12:49:00 PM
This natural foundation base is very similar to mineral foundation without the high pricetag. I paid $14.55 for .60 ounces at Sweetwater Market.com. The ingredients are: Silk Powder, Cinnamon Powder, Aloe Vera, Henna, and Natural Flower Oil. It gives your skin a silky perfection without highlighting wrinkles, pores, etc. I enjoy the fact that it perfects my skin without changing its color. After one week of use I have had a pleasant thing happen to my skin... it is more elastic. How do I know? My under eye skin is tight.. like then I was 18. So, needless to say... I haven't had a puffy eye since! I read online that silk powder has many, many benefits! Ladies, you NEED this! Even if you wear foundation under it. Okay, back to the review, If you need to apply concealer, do it first, and then apply this. It glides on skin, doesn't dry it out and looks GEORGOUS! I have dry, sensitive skin and although I loved the concept of mineral makeup it just seemed to dry my skin out after a few days. I also read that micronized particles can be dangerous... so be safe. I think the majority of women will appreceiate this base and find it a breath of fresh air for perfecting their skin before color application. It also works great as a eye makeup base. I also use Aubrey blushes. I really recommend trying these out. Aubrey's website doesn't offer samples but www.holisticbeauty.net does for $1 each. If you like mineral makeup (or had trouble with it drying your skin)... try this out. Buy online at www.sweetwatermarket.com or www.aubrey-organics.com.

Blush -Aubrey Organics - Silken Earth Powder - Rose Tone
PetiteBrunnette 5/24/2006 12:38:00 PM
This is a very pretty, all natural blush by Aubrey Organics. I paid $6.05 and feel like I have won the lottery. This is a universal blush that would work with a variety of skin tones. I have pale Irish skin and it looks great lightly applied. A heavier application would work with light and medium skin tones. It wears all day, doesn't change colors and isn't drying to my skin. It also applies very easy. I love it! It's nice to get such a wonderful makeup product that doesn't clean out the checking account. I just wish that it came with a sifter lid but I can cheaply pick that up anywhere. Why pay Bare Esscentuals $25 for what you can get for $6? Recommended! Buy online at www.sweetwatermarket.com or www.aubrey-organics.com

Blush -Aubrey Organics - Silken Earth Powder- Medium Tone
PetiteBrunnette 5/24/2006 12:32:00 PM
This is a beautiful shade to use as a bronzer. It looks similar to "warmth" mineral makeup by Bare Escentuals but completely, natural with a soft, warm glow. I really love how it gently warms up my fair Irish complexion. It's simply beautiful, easy to blend and it's affordable! I bought it for $6.05! I highly recommened this in lieu of the mass marketed mineral makeups out there. They also make a foundation base and two other contour powders (light and rose). The foundation base is also very nice and only $18. I highly recommend all of Aubrey's makeup products. The ingredients are safe and the makeup pretty! I am still out on whether micro particle minerals are safe for my skin and health. The only downside is limited color selection. Buy online at www.sweetwatermarket.com or www.aubrey-organics.com

Lotions/ Creams -Aubrey Organics - Natures Balance Unscented SPF 15 Hand and Body Lotion
PetiteBrunnette 5/20/2006 4:36:00 PM
This is another great find from Aubrey Organics. I have very dry skin on my entire body: hands, face, legs. But, I have very sensitive skin that reacts to most everything. I actually received this as a free gift for spending $30 on Aubrey's website. This lotion is truly unscented and wonderful. How often will you find a body lotion that is unscented, SPF 15, absorbs quickly, contains healthy ingredients and leaves no residue behind? Did I mention that it is less than $10? Amazing! I love this stuff so much and lucky for me this can be shipped to a overseas military address. The biggest reason I love it is how well it moisturizes my skin. My dry skin doesn't "glow" very often but with summer around the corner it is important that my legs be moisturized and presentable. My skin is moisturized, healthy looking and I love it. This is also great for my entire family since it contains no fragrance. Even my husband likes it. A highly recommended product! Buy online at www.sweetwatermarket.com or www.aubrey-organics.com

Toners -Aubrey Organics - Rosa Mosqueta and English Lavender Facial Toner
PetiteBrunnette 5/20/2006 4:30:00 PM
At 28, I have proven to be highly anti-toner because my skin could not tolerate it. I really bought this expecting to shelve it with all my other unusable cosmetics. I was amazed how soothing this was for my skin! It really helps hydrate and soothe my dry skin. I put it on twice just because I love it so much. I highly recommend this product for dry sensitive skin. It's wonderful in the evening because it has a calming lavender scent.
