Blush -Physicians Formula - Happy Booster™ Glow & Mood Boosting Blush in rose
Peri 1/16/2012 5:29:00 PM
I really like this cool-toned pink blush. It adds that coveted "winter flush" to my skin, although I wish it was a bit more pigmented or more deeply colored. It's super-sheer so I have to build up on my light-medium skin. I think for paler women, it would be a dream. It stays on, which I like, though. I'm so over PF's packaging — take a cue from MAC or NARS (or even L'Oreal!) and streamline the whole operation and get rid of the horrid brushes! Nobody uses them anyway. Plus, that would make their compacts more purse-appropriate, which means I'd use them more, which means I'd probably run out sooner and have to buy again. How's that for logic?!

Treatments -La Mer - Regenerating Serum

I have a travel-sized sized bottle of the serum and I really love it. I didn't expect much, but I've been waking up to glowing, clear, hydrated skin every morning. I love that it's not oily once it's applied, and I'm loving the fact that I don't really need to wear foundation anymore if I don't want to, because it's evened up my skin tone. I've noticed that it also has faded some light acne scarring I have. Good product. Too bad it's so obscenely $$$.

Crème -Laura Mercier - Crème Smooth Foundation

Obsessed with this foundation! I recently switched to this after being loyal to Chanel and MAC and I'm so happy I did. I really expected it to be too cakey but it's just the opposite — it makes my skin look dewy, even and hydrated. In fact, you can barely tell I'm wearing any foundation at all. I apply it with a damp sponge and blend it really well, and the result is flawless. I use Sunny Beige, which looks darker than my skin in the jar, but actually is a perfect match. No lines! My mom, who is in her 50s, uses this as well and her skin has never looked better. Recommended for all! It's a tad pricey, at $50 USD, but a little really goes a long, long way.

Lips -NARS - Bougainville

LOVE LOVE LOVE this gloss. I forgot I had it and recently started wearing it and I get tons of compliments! It's a perfect winter berry shade, ideal for this time of year. It has a nice amount of shine but not too much, which I love. I'm also surprised how long it stays on. It also brightens up my face in a way other lip colors can't. Tres chic and highly recommended!

Moisturizers -MAC - Strobe Cream

I have a travel size version and I LOVE it. It achieves exactly what you see on runway models — dewy, highlighted-without-glitter skin. After I apply foundation (Chanel Vitalumiere Aqua in B20 mixed with a dab of MAC Select SPF 15 in NC30) I press a pea size amount onto my cheekbones, chin, sides of my nose and the outer corners of my eyes and it looks flawless. I've found, for me, it works better to literally press it into my skin as opposed to rubbing it in. I'm getting married in 11 days and I was planning to do my own makeup and this will definitely be featured!

Lipstick -MAC - Crazee
Peri 6/26/2011 3:52:00 PM
My favorite MAC lipstick is Eager, and this is a near-replica except for the fact that it's a frost formula (but doesn't look frost-like on, actually). The color is a mix of bright reddish-coral and really stands out. I find it's a tad drying, but it does have decent staying powder, so I don't mind that much. Looks super-chic in both the summer and winter!

Cleansers -MAC - Cleanse Off Oil
Peri 6/26/2011 3:48:00 PM
This is a fantastic cleansing oil! I've been using it for a few weeks and my skin looks clear and hydrated. I typically use it with my Clarisonic skin brush, but even when it's used on its own, the result is awesome. It definitely removes all traces of makeup.

Shampoo -Clairol - Shimmer Lights
Peri 6/26/2011 3:44:00 PM
I used this for the first time yesterday, after noticing that the blonde in my ombre hair was getting brassy. I left it on for about a minute and was pleasantly surprised with the result. It definitely cuts down the reddish tones blonde can sometimes get. I know people say it makes hair dry, so I doubled up on the conditioner and my hair looked great after blow-drying — barely brassy!

Liquid -Chanel - Vitalumiere Aqua
Peri 6/6/2011 11:19:00 AM
I can't say enough good things about this! Last spring, I bought Chanel's Teint Miracle on a whim and absolutely fell in love. It made my skin look like no other foundation had: even, dewy and natural. When I found out they discontinued it, I sort of dallied when it came to going back to the Chanel counter, and instead used a variety of other foundations such as MAC, Lancome, L'Oreal, etc. While most were OK, I just didn't like the way my skin was looking. The other day, I went into a department store and asked the SA to suggest a makeup similar to the one that was discontinued. She RAVED about this and told me it's what she wears (her skin was flawless) so I tried it. I apply it with my fingers, which is new to me because I've been using a BeautyBlender for years, and my skin has never looked better. It literally sinks right into my skin and looks so natural and glowy. Some reviewers say it oxidized over time, but I haven't seen that. It's totally foolproof — I don't even need a mirror to apply it. It's pricey, yes, but for me it's an expense that's highly worth it. I got it in B20: Beige, and it matches my skin perfectly. When I get a tan, the SA suggested going a shade darker, which I definitely will. LOVE!

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Tata Harper Rejuvenating Serum
Peri 6/6/2011 11:05:00 AM
Thanks to the Clarisonic, my skin had been looking great for the past year or so, before suddenly becoming slightly dull and acne-prone. I suppose my skin adapted to the Clarisonic and needed something new to shake it up. I didn't have especially high hopes for the serum, as my skin often responds better to mass-market products like Noxema and plain old vitamin E oil than high-end things. However, I've been using this for about 4 nights, and I'm absolutely impressed. Not only have all the small pimples and imperfections vanished, but my skin looks plumped up, smooth and totally glowing. It's so hydrating, as well, that I've been using it alone without moisturizer. I wish it weren't so pricey, but apart from that, I adore it. Highly recommend for gals with dull, dry and slightly problematic skin. Can't wait to see how it holds up throughout the summer!

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre - Eager

LOVE LOVE LOVE Eager! It's a perfect orange-red shade that looks super chic. It reminds me of the color that all the models on j.crew.com are wearing these days. LOVE. The staying power is OK, not fantastic, but it's still awesome.

Polishes -Sally Hansen - Insta-Dri in Lightening

I REALLY wanted to love this! And while I totally adore the color, the packaging and formula are simply dreadful. The flat brush is horrid — it's impossible to get the corners of your nails. What the hell is the point of it?? I'm really confused. Also, the formula is thick and bubbly and even after two coats, my nails looked like a serious MESS. Removed it promptly. =

Liquid -Lancome - Teint Miracle
Peri 4/18/2011 11:19:00 AM
I'm a beauty editor and received this (in Buff 2 W) the other day in a package, having never tried it before. I've been using MAC's Select SPF foundation, which I didn't mind but I found to be a tad thick and the shade was a bit too dark. While the Lancome shade I received is too light for me to use on it's own, I've been mixing it into my MAC and the result is amazing — dewy, even skin that doesn't look to cakey. Obviously, if the result is so great after just using a few drops, I'm going to buy one in my shade to try it on its own. I always apply my makeup with a damp beautyblender sponge, and this works really well with it!

Lipstick -MAC - Pro Longwear Lipcreme in Prolong
Peri 3/16/2011 11:39:00 AM
LOVE this lipstick — both the color and the formula. I really can't say enough about its staying power — it even lasted through a shower. The color is a perfect red, both deep and bright, that looks great with my NC30 skin and green eyes and brown-blond ombre hair. LOVE!

Cleansers -Skyn Iceland - Glacial Cleansing Cloths
Peri 3/2/2011 5:07:00 PM
It's funny that I found these cloths to be so terribly drying on my skin, considering I love all of the brand's other products. I found that they didn't remove makeup well and made my skin red and extremely dry the next day. Instead, I've been using the brand;s pure cloud cleanser along with my Clarisonic, which works much better for me.
