Bronzers -Laura Geller - Bronze-N-Brighten
PISALISA 1/25/2013 6:26:00 PM
This is now my HG bronzer. I was using Two Faced Chocolate Soleil until I stumbled upon the reviews for Bronze n Brighten. I bought it in a trial size in the regular shade. All I can say is WOW! What a difference! This bronzer gives such a realistic warmth to my skin. In the pan, it appears shimmery...but it is not visibly shimmery on my face. It is slightly darker than Chocolate Soleil but it blends out way better. Also, even though Bronze and Brighten is a baked powder, it does not look like a powder on my face. Chocolate Soleil is guilty of being powdery and caking up a bit throughout the day. I honestly cannot imagine there being a better bronzer on the market. I will be crushed if this is ever discontinued!

Liquid -Clinique - Superbalanced Foundation
PISALISA 1/22/2013 5:50:00 AM
This is a mediocre foundation. I like that it seems to melt into my skin without leaving a heavy or caked look. It blends like a dream and covers most imperfections. It does, however, become an oil-slick by mid-day. Also, as the day wears on, this foundation starts to settle into my skin and make my pores look huge. The finish is satiny and never tacky feeling. I will not be repurchasing this foundation because I feel like it's drug-store quality at a higher price. Not worth the money. ***Beware...you will want to definitely purchase a pump to go with this foundation. The hole at the top of the bottle is ridiculously small and it's near impossible to pour out.

Foundations -Revlon - Nearly Naked Foundation
PISALISA 1/8/2013 8:42:00 PM
This is a great everyday foundation. It is much lighter feeling than Colorstay but still provides great coverage. Applying it is a little work because the foundation is so thin...so you really have to blend it in until the streaks are gone. The finish (for me) is satiny. It is by no means shiny but it's not as matte as say...Colorstay. I still need to use concealer under my eyes but this product does a pretty good job at covering redness and small blemishes. I do get oily by mid-day, but it's not as oily as most satin-finished foundations make me. I have noticed that Nearly Naked does slightly accentuate my pores. Also, it stays tacky to the touch all day. My HG foundation has always been Colorstay, mostly because it doesn't feel icky on my face. Overall, I will continue to use this foundation on those "less is more" makeup days. When I want to look flawless...I'll stick with Colorstay.

Bronzers -New York Color - Smooth Skin Bronzing Face Powder in Sunny 720
PISALISA 1/8/2013 11:16:00 AM
This bronzer shows up quite orange and ruddy on me. It may be because of my cool-toned skin so that can't be blamed on the product itself. I have heard it works well for many people. My main complaint with the product is how splotchy it becomes throughout the day. Also, it is very powdery and tends to look cakey once the mid-day oil sets in. I use and love TF Chocolate Soleil so I will not repurchase. There are better drug store options for bronzers.

BB Cream -Maybelline - Dream Fresh 8-in-1 BB Cream
PISALISA 1/5/2013 6:43:00 PM
Ugh. This product is horrible. I knew it wasn't a "real" BB cream so that part doesn't bother me. This stuff literally just sat on top of my skin like some kind of oily mask. It accentuated every pore and slid off of my face within 2 hours. The only reason I gave 2 lippies is because it does give some coverage. Unfortunately, when you add shine to the coverage, it's like putting a neon sign on my forehead that points at every flaw.

Styling Products -Suave - Professionals Captivating Curls Whipped Cream Mousse
PISALISA 12/27/2012 11:16:00 AM
I cannot believe how much time this "mousse" has saved my styling routine! I have naturally very thick and curly hair. My curls are "S" shaped and very frizzy and unruly. Until this product, I have resorted to blow drying and flat ironing every day for the last 17 years. Now, all I do is hop out of the shower, detangle with argan oil and apply 2 golf-ball sized globs of Captivating Curls mousse. I let it air dry into the most beautiful and frizz-free curls I have ever had. Normally, air-drying is out of the question because my thick hair gets way too fluffy and frizzy...even with gel or other products. The best part is that my hair is still soft (not stiff!) and my curls are uniformly defined. Great stuff, Suave!

Candles -Bath and Body Works - Marshmallow Fireside
PISALISA 11/24/2012 1:09:00 PM
I never get sick of this candle. It really smells like burning marshmallows. Marshmallow Fireside is not a sickening or thick scent whatsoever. It's more like a toned-down vanilla with a very slight hint of wood smoke. This scent reminds me of bonfires, cozy sweaters and cuddling up under a warm blanket on a cold day. I hope BBW continues to offer this unique candle every year!

Eye Shadow -Wet 'n' Wild - Color Icon Trio - Silent Treatment
PISALISA 11/16/2012 7:25:00 PM
I really like this trio. The peach color has so many uses. I use it by itself on my lids when going for a natural look. Also, it works so well as a natural looking highlighter for the brow and cheek bones. The taupe shade is AMAZING! I use this color for contouring my lids since it is too dark for an all over color. The darkest color is complete crap IMO. It is impossible to blend and far too dark for most people to contour with. Hey, two great shades out of three isn't that bad. I probably will not repurchase because I don't use this pallette enough to ever hit pan. Also, the peach and taupe colors are great but don't suit my skintone as well as the WnW Sweet as Candy trio.

Treatments -Garnier - Sleek and Shine Moroccan Sleek Oil Treatment
PISALISA 11/14/2012 7:36:00 PM
I must have died and gone to drug store heaven! This oil is better than 95% of the high end styling oils that I've tried. I use a small amount before blow drying and a wee bit after. This is the only oil that doesn't get greasy when I use it on dry hair. I have also noticed that this oil controls fly aways better than any product I have ever used. Hey... for $4.99, this is a hell of a good alternative to expensive Salon oils.

Styling Products -Kerastase - Elixir Ultime
PISALISA 11/14/2012 6:08:00 AM
Ladies...do not waste your hard earned money on Elixer Ultime. It works but there are so many cheaper products that work better. I use this oil/serum after my shower and before blow drying. It smooths my hair out and makes it dry super fast. Styling afterwards in a pain in the butt. This product made my hair overly flat, dried out and life-less. The fly-aways and static were unbearable. Also, it made my thick hair feel super thin and fragile. I learned my lesson...just because a product costs an arm and a leg, it doesn't mean it's good.

Treatments -Organix - Repairing Awapuhi Ginger Instant Recovery Mask
PISALISA 11/14/2012 4:43:00 AM
I'm not usually a fan of Organix products and this conditioning mask is no different. First, let me say that I do like the Organix Moroccan Oil line. This product, however, did not leave my hair in any better condition than say...White Rain conditioner. Seriously, this is supposed to be a moisturizing mask. My hair felt super dry and tangled after leaving this mask on for 10 minutes. My hair doesn't feel or look repaired whatsoever. I used up the whole product just because of principal but I will not repurchase. Two products from Organix that are absolute gold are the Moroccan Oil Condiyioner and the styling oil. All of their other products are drying and damaging in my opinion.

Blush -Tarte - Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush in Dollface
PISALISA 11/1/2012 11:27:00 AM
Dollface is the perfect pink blush. I think my favorite thing about Tarte blushes are that they do not look powdery or enhance large pores. The bubble gum pink color does not turn ruddy or fade throughout the day. Also, a huge plus is there's no sparkle! I love this blush. It is so natural looking and mistake-proof. Dollface reminds me of a baby's little pink cheeks. Will repurchase again and again.

Concealers -Bare Escentuals - Bisque
PISALISA 10/19/2012 6:49:00 PM
This is a miracle product sent from heaven! I have been searching for a concealer that would improve the appearance of my hollowed and darkened undereye area. I literally have tried EVERY concealer under the sun. Most of the thicker ones that covered the dark areas left my undereyes creased and shiny. This only made the hollowness more prevalent. I saw Emily Noel (You Tube) use Bare Minerals over top of a mediocre cream concealer and WOW! I had to buy it straight away. I applied it for the first time in my car which was parked in front of the post office. The difference was astounding! This stuff covers, brightens and mattifies like no other product on the market! Hollowness...GONE! Dark circles...POOF! No caking, no creasing and no mid-day touch ups required. Just PERFECTLY FLAWLESS EYES! This is quite possibly my favorite product ever.

Shampoo -Paul Mitchell - Super Skinny Daily Shampoo
PISALISA 10/11/2012 7:10:00 PM
Hey, look! I just conditioned my hair with an Elmer's glue stick! Yes, this conditioner is THAT bad. As a matter of fact, it is the worst product that I have ever used on my poor hair. I've followed the simple directions of apply and rinse. Gave it 3 tries. It left my hair impossible to manage, sticky, and a lot like gummy hay. The frizz was worse and it was not fixable. What in the blue hell was Paul Mitchell thinking when they let a "conditioner" on the market like this one? It also claims to reduce drying time. Uh, no. Do not buy this conditioner! Read the reviews and see just how bad this crap is.

Liquid -Rimmel - Lasting Finish 25 Hour Foundation
PISALISA 10/8/2012 11:51:00 AM
I read the reviews that ranted and raved about Rimmel 25 hours foundation and thought I'd give it a try. I usually use Colorstay Foundation in "Nude" and I found an almost match in Rimmel's "True ivory 103". I say an almost match because it is slightly lighter than my Colorstay but matches tone-wise with my skin. This foundation is a lot like rubbing paint onto my face. It takes a while to blend it out because it's quite streaky on application. It will cover just about anything but it looks like a heavy foundation. There is no natural look that will come from using this foundation. It's very thick, accentuates large pores and makes the tiny little blonde hairs on my cheeks stand straight up. Colorstay gives a much more natural and smooth finish for longer. This foundation also oxidized on me by lunch time. This is something that Colorstay has never done. I'll stick with Revlon from now on.
