Makeup Brushes -MAC - # 239 Eye Shader Brush
OolilredoO 1/19/2008 2:02:00 PM
This brush is a must have for everyone! This is a great brush for packing on eyeshadows to achieve great pigmentation. This brush gives precise application for my very small asian lids. To deepen the look of my swallon-looking eyes, i always use 239 to pack on a little MAC carbon eyeshadow near the lashline of my out lids and blend it up a little. This instantly makes my eyes look much bigger and awake. I own a lot of brushes, and this is the only brush that can get this done super fast and easy. I will buy this again and again and again. But I doubt if this will happen anytime soon because my 239 never shed once and keeps its shape super well.

Liquid -Christian Dior - Diorskin Pure Light [DISCONTINUED]
OolilredoO 1/2/2008 11:25:00 AM
Color Matches: 100(lightest) for this foundation/#10 Limpid for Chanel TI/NC15-20 for MAC/#4 for GA LSF/#200 for Shiseido Powdery Foundation I would have given this 4.5 lippies if i had the choice, due to the only down side of this foundation for me which it is a bit more illuminating and shimmery than i would have liked. Other than that, I like everything else, i meant EVERYTHING else about it. I was using chanel teint innocence compact and GA LSF before this. However,as i was gonna settle for LSF, i got massive break outs on my forhead, and this was in addition to my mild acne problem. I decided to try Proactive solution, and the instruction said that I need to use oil-free makeup when i'm using Proactive. I did a bit of browsing, and chose this because of the light coverage, since i dont wanna look so fake and fully made up at such a young age. My first try with this had really had me surprised. The coverage is obviously not heavy, but definitely buildable. It glides on like a dream, since it's 50% water based, unlike other oil-free foundations. What was more amazing was that I didn't have to touch-up for a whole school day without my forhead and the sides of my nose being oily. I deteceted a tiny bit of oxidation but it's usually not noticeable. As i said in the beginning, this foundation is a bit more shimmery than i would have liked, but with a layer of matte powder on top, this problem was solved. As for packaging, I like how it's put into a nice square bottle with a pump, and the blue cap is so elegant. Dior products are usually beautiful anyway. And for color match, I think there are only 4 shades, which is very little compared to other foundations. However, I think most people would be okay with this since the coverage is so light that it doesn't significantly change the color of your face. Overall, a great great made foundation, kept oil at bay for me much better than many of the others i've tried. I've only had it for 2 weeks, and it never failed me. Potential HG material. =D

Eyeliner -Guerlain - Divinora Liquid Eyeliner
OolilredoO 12/8/2007 7:47:00 PM
I'm in love with this! The tip of this liquid liner is thin, and soft at the very tip. However, it's still firm enough to get easy control. It's also very easy to control how much product you are using since you just dip the wand into the little bottle. This thing dries fast too. I can apply layers of this before or after its dry and it would not flake one bit.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - 224 Tapered Blending (Windshield Wiper) Brush
OolilredoO 12/6/2007 7:52:00 PM
I just recently got this for a cheap price at a CCO. I absolutely love it! This is such a miracle brush, with this, eyeshadow application is super easy. I couldn't even do a proper crease prior to having this brush. It's fabulous for blending as well. I'm so in love!

Blush -BeneFit Cosmetics - 10
OolilredoO 11/21/2007 8:08:00 PM
I was very excited by the idea that I could highlight and contour in just 1 swipe of this blush. However, when I spent about 40 CAD to get it, this disapointed me. The brush it came with is very scratchy and doesn't pick up pigments too well. In addtion, the brush is too narrow to contour my cheeks. I really tried to make this work, and everytime i either look like a complete mess or a weirdo wearing strikey blush of different colors. The packaging is not travel friendly as well, just like other blushes from Benefit such as Dandelion and Georgia because the lid comes off easily. The bronzer part is very shimmery and I don't understand how that's gonna contour your face, because matte bronzers work way better. The only reason I gave this 2 lippies is because I can use the highlighter and bronzer as 2 different blushes and that seem to work okay. I tried convincing myself that getting a highlighter and bronzer for 20 CAD each is not that bad. However, i still ended up swapping it away.

Mascara -Lancome - Definicils Mascara
OolilredoO 11/21/2007 7:59:00 PM
This mascara could have been my HG if it didn't make my sensitive eyes water, and that's about the only thing that i didn't like. Other than that, everything about definicils is great. It's especially good for my extremely short bottom lashes since the brush is small. This is the only mascara that can make my nearly visible bottom lashes look long, curled, and defined. For my top lashes, this works well too. However, when i apply too much of it, it weights down the curl. With the help of a mascara primer like the shiseido one or the clarin's mascara coat, this mascara works fantastically. Usually mascaras get a little clumpy when used with a primer. This one doesn't. It still defines with more length, volume, and color. No matter how many coats I put on, the primer will hold the curl. One thing to remember is that let dry between coats to get more dramatic lashes.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Mineralize Eyeshadow in Engaging
OolilredoO 10/23/2007 9:15:00 PM
This is the only thing that I got from MAC holiday. I tend to wear light and shimmery colors because they are much more forgiving as my eyeshadow blending skills are not great. These are the perfect everyday kind of shades for me. They were easy to blend, but pigmentation was mediorcre. Previous reviewers had said that the shimmers were chuncky and caused fall outs. Mine actually didn't have these problems. If you are lucky, you might get one like i have. I really think MAC should standardlize their MSFs and Mineral eyeshadows. If you like light and high-shimmer kinds of eyeshadows, you should for sure give this duo a try. They are universal colors that everyone is able to pull off.

Crème -Chanel - Teint Innocence Cream to Powder Compact Foundation
OolilredoO 10/6/2007 12:50:00 AM
This is my first try at this foundation. Just like all other chanel products, love the packaging, hate the price. However, this foundation is just perfection. I simply used the sponge that came with the compact and applied all over. It only took 2 minutes to achieve the coverage i want. From what i see in the mirror, the finish is quite matte. It also provides medium coverage. I couldn't really tell that i was wearing any foundation but my face looked flawless. I'm going to update later when i experiment with it more. =D Update- I've been using this this month, and its great! But i took off 1 lippie because even though i'm in love with the finish, it oxidizes on my after 4-5 hours. But then again, I haven't found any foundation that won't oxidize other than GA LSF...

Blush -NARS - Sertao [DISCONTINUED]
OolilredoO 10/4/2007 10:20:00 PM
Sertao is my HG blush/bronzer! I own 7 NARS blushes, and i found that some of them are very well pressed and some are a bit more loose. I tend to like the loose ones like sertao because my MAC 187 picks up more pigment. Whenever i use this blush, i look so healthy. The color is truly a tawny gold on hand, and showed up more orange/brown on my cheeks. This blush has shimmers in it, but they are very fine shimmers, however not so subtle, so it might emphasize pores. So overall, I would recommend this blush to fair girls with warm undertones. Be sure to try it before buying because this is not a blush that would work on everyone. You will love it if your coloring is right.

Eye Shadow -Smashbox - Eye shadow Quad Celebrita LE
OolilredoO 9/28/2007 6:37:00 PM
I received this lovely quad in a swap, but it was BN. When i took out this little gem, i just went like...WOW! The packaging is so cute and gorgeous with tokidoki stuff on it. In side, there are four sheer and shimmery colors. A lavender, a pink, a steel, and a white highlighting color. I agree with the other reviews that this quad is definitely not made for people who favours pigmented e/s. The colors are not unique and not exceptionally beautiful. But for me, this is a perfect quad. There is probaly a gazillion bronze, neutrals, and taupes in my stash. I can't pull off any other colors. However, this quad contains colors that i've never tried before, and is sheer, which make the colors wearable for me. I gave this 4 lippies instead of 5 because this would be too mediocre.

Crème -BeneFit Cosmetics - Some Kind-A Gorgeous
OolilredoO 8/29/2007 2:34:00 PM
I was seriously lemming this and swapped for a mini size to try. The product needed for a one full application is quite a lot. I can my mini one been gone in 3 applications. This product is easy to blend. At first, it does seem to adjust to my skintone. I'm a NW20 BTW. However, after 5 min, my face turned orange, indicating that this is too dark for my skintone. The product itself claims that it will suit most skintones, and i don't think that's true at all! The coverage is not very good either. Would never buy it, and I would recommand trying it before you buy. This product also killed all of my lemmings and hopes for BeneFit. I'll stick to my guerlain and chanel.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline-Rich Ground
OolilredoO 8/27/2007 3:37:00 PM
I love the texture of MAC fluidlines. These are the only eyeliner i can use w/o creasing or smudging. I have narrow and hazel eyes. Black e/l looks just too harsh. So my staple is blitz & glitz which is a bit softer. I thought i'd give a try at brown e/l and this is what i got from a swap. This is a deep brassy and metallic color. It sort of looked as if it had a red undertone when applied on my eyes. The texture is smooth and rich. I've only had it for 2 days but i can see myself using it just as much as blitz&glitz. I also have WnW liquid e/l in brown and it's sort of a dupe for this one except it's slightly darker and doesn't have the red tone to it. I'm very glad that i swapped for this.

Mascara -Clinique - High Impact Mascara
OolilredoO 8/27/2007 3:28:00 PM
This is my HG mascara at the moment. I received this as a GWP. I really love the fat brush and it's not so spiky like most of the ds mascaras that they occasionally poke my eyes. As well as that the bristles on the brush are short and very neatly arranged and cut. It even feels good on the hand to apply it. On it's own, the performance of the mascara is good for its price. There is rarely any clumpiness no matter how many coats you put on, wet or dry. And it lengthens and volumnizes greatly. I have this in black and i have to say that it really dramatically adds color to my lashes. The main thing i love about this mascara is that it pairs very well with a primer underneath. Many other mascaras i've used clumps or doesn't show any difference with a primer. The only downside is that it weights down my lashes and is not waterproof/smudge proof. HOWEVER, i've found a solution for both of these problems by applying clarins mascara fix underneath as a primer, and putting another layer of the mascara fix as a sealer after mascara application. FYI I'm an asian with those typical short + sparse lashes and oily eyelids. Countless people have complimented on my lashes and asked me if i had put on falsies. I'm still experimenting other mascaras, but i have found no other yet, that could be compared to this.

Blush -Chanel - Narcisse [DISCONTINUED]
OolilredoO 8/24/2007 3:27:00 PM
I swapped away my benefit dandelion and started looking for another *perfectly pink* blush. I bought this due to the recent raves on the board. I love it b/c it's got very subtle shimmers and easily blendable. During my first try at this, the classic rosy smell was very overpowering, and the powder was more loose than i expected. But when the top layer was used up, it's more tightly pressed and smelled more pleasant. The color is perfect to wake up a pale or tired face. For people more tanned, you can easily layer the blush. I use it nearly everyday now and i'm planning on getting more chanel JC blushes!

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Waterproof
OolilredoO 8/24/2007 3:14:00 PM
This is my HG ds mascara. I has straight, medium length and sparse asian lashes. This mascara lengthens, adds so much volumn, and holds a curl very well. During the first week since opening, the formula is a little wet, therefore dries slower. The later weeks, it becomes dry and clumps my lashes once in a while especially when i reapply when the previous coat has dried. I found that this problem can be solved by putting the tube into luke warm water. It warms up the stuff inside and makes it less clumpy. This mascara is superior considering the price. I think that if you have sparse and short lashes, this is great for you. But if you already have great lashes, then this is only gonna clump and tangle your lashes together.
