Treatments -Ojon - Restorative Hair Treatment
Oneirix 8/23/2007 10:39:00 PM
I have to say, this stuff just really wasn't that amazing. I personally love the smell, but it's just so greasy and heavy that I can't imagine using it as a gloss or anything. I tried it as an overnight treatment, and I didn't see or feel any difference. My hair can be pretty dry, so I was hoping that this would be a miracle worker hydration-wise, but found the lack of results very disappointing. So while I think it smells nice, that's pretty much it. Definitely not worth the money.

Makeup Brushes -Bare Escentuals - Maximum Coverage Concealer Brush
Oneirix 8/19/2007 5:50:00 AM
Excellent, excellent brush! Even though I'm extremely rough with it, its bristles haven't budged and it still performs like new! It's very soft, and is dense enough to get a lot of powder so it works perfectly as a concealer brush. It's comfy and non-irritating to use, and does its job very well. So far it's the only BE brush I've used that I would happily buy again if I lost or broke it.

Makeup Brushes -Bare Escentuals - Flawless Application Face Brush
Oneirix 8/19/2007 5:48:00 AM
I actually really like this brush! It's pretty soft, and applies the Mineral Veil and Warmth I use with ease. It has good coverage and is very easy to use. Unfortunately some of the hairs are coming out, but I think that's more because I don't take good care of it. :X I know there are better brushes out there, but it's a good value if you get it in a kit. I wouldn't suggest buying it separately though.

Makeup Brushes -Bare Escentuals - Kabuki Brush
Oneirix 8/19/2007 5:45:00 AM
I got this brush in the BE Starter Kit, and at first I loved it...until I tried other brushes that did its exact same job! I'm personally not a fan of such short handles, and even though I have small hands I find it uncomfortable to hold on to; I feel like I have to grip the tiny thing with all my might just to keep it from popping out of my grasp! The bristles feel awful to me. They're really scratchy and irritating, and I don't know if that helps with "buffing" in mineral foundation, but it certainly doesn't feel good! Furthermore, hairs keep falling out of my brush! Admittedly that's probably no fault of the brush, I'm rather rough with it, but its still a bit of a downer. I much prefer Smashbox's Face and Body Brush. It makes you smile just to use it it's so soft, and the big handle is much better for control.

Eye Shadow -Bare Escentuals - Wearable Eye Kit - Meet the Stones
Oneirix 8/19/2007 5:41:00 AM
The Meet the Stones Wearable Eye Kit consists of three grey colors, described as Wearable Stone Light (dove gray), Wearable Stone Medium (smoky slate), and Wearable Stone Dark (steel gray). I wore these colors in a smoky eye style over the Urban Decay Primer Potion for my prom, and I must say that it came out beautifully. The colors were fabulous and stayed put all night (thanks primer potion!), and I think that they are really quite glamorous and lovely. The result of the combination of the three is a sensual look without being too heavy or overly dramatic. However, I'm not a fan of the loose powder eye shadows simply because I'm not good at applying them. The jars are so small that it's hard to get the correct amount of powder into the lid to buff into the brush, and you can sometimes end up with far too much and waste it by trying to put it back. The price is extremely reasonable, and despite how frustrating the little jars can be, they are rather adorable. :P There's a lot of eye shadow in each pot, and it should last you quite a long time. All in all, I rather enjoyed Meet the Stones, and look forward to purchasing another Wearable Eye Kit.

Shampoo -LUSH - Godiva Solid 2 in 1
Oneirix 8/19/2007 5:31:00 AM
For a solid, 2-in-1 shampoo and conditioner, this stuff is not bad. It smells wonderful (which is a must for hair care products for me), but it simply doesn't have enough conditioner in it for my semi-dry hair. It does an admirable job, but I've yet to find a 2-in-1 that works as well as a single conditioner. Still, if you don't have very picky hair and want something compact and fun, go for the Godiva bar! Just don't do what I did and put it in the tin while it's wet; now it's stuck in there and I can't get it out. :/

Styling Products -Bumble & Bumble - Brilliantine
Oneirix 8/19/2007 5:29:00 AM
This I can proudly say is my HG hair styling product. I don't style my hair much if at all, and I hate to deal with sprays and mousses and god knows what else. Brilliantine texturized my layered hair exactly as I wanted it to and styled it enough so that I could keep my bangs and waves in place, while still leaving my hair soft and pliable. It also added an amazing shine for me! It's extremely light weight and not greasy at all, and smells awesome to boot. I definitely highly recommend it for definition, separation and shine, though perhaps not hold.

Shampoo -Bumble & Bumble - Creme de Coco
Oneirix 8/19/2007 5:25:00 AM
This is an amazing shampoo, in my opinion. I have never before come across a shampoo that I could plausibly use without conditioner and still be satisfied with the feel of my hair for the rest of the day. I really feel that it strengthened and quenched my parched hair. It also cleaned my hair quite thoroughly; it cleansed my thick hair almost as well as a clarifying shampoo and without the icky dryness of one! Excellent stuff, but pretty expensive. The smell is wonderful, too.

Conditioner -Bumble & Bumble - Creme de Coco conditioner
Oneirix 8/19/2007 5:23:00 AM
I'm always hunting for my HG shampoo and conditioner, and I haven't found it yet, but this comes pretty darn close. The smell is awesome, and it really conditions my poor parched hair! It even keeps those pesky flyaways at bay if I brush before I let it dry (I don't use hair dryers). My only beef is that it is so expensive! It's double what I'm used to paying for for shampoo, and that's only for the small one! D: The bright side is that it lasted me an extremely long time, and I can honestly say it's one of the best I've ever tried. Worth the money, but I personally shall continue my quest for my HG shampoo and conditioner set.

Fragrances -Philosophy - Amazing Grace Eau De Parfum
Oneirix 8/19/2007 5:20:00 AM
I absolutely adore this perfume. It's my signature spring scent. :) I bought the tiny roll-on bottle a very long time ago, and it's lasted me since then! The scent doesn't last quite as long as I would like, but it's small enough to fit in the tiniest clutch, so reapplication is not a problem. The price I felt was extremely reasonable, especially next to that of other perfumes I enjoy, so I love this stuff! I wear it whenever I want to feel a little prettier that day. :)

Lotions/ Creams -Philosophy - Soul Owner
Oneirix 8/19/2007 5:17:00 AM
AWESOME stuff! I have pretty dry heels, and after putting this cream on the dryness is gone and my feet feel so smooth, I can hardly believe I ever walked barefoot on them! However, after applying it you're supposed to wash your hands, and that process becomes rather difficult since it takes so long to dry on your feet. I've often just sat in my bathroom and stretched awkwardly to my sink to wash my hands while waiting for it to soak into my skin! So one lippie off for inconvenience.

Lotions/ Creams -Philosophy - time on your hands
Oneirix 8/19/2007 5:14:00 AM
This is really nice stuff! It really softened my hands; I go rock climbing often, so I have pretty developed calluses. I need the calluses for climbing so I was worried that using this stuff would break them down, but not so (which in retrospect may not be a plus to others)! It just made my hands touchably soft and smooth, and made me happy. :) Unfortunately also from climbing chalk I have some flaky skin at my finger tips, and it didn't help much with that. All in all a great product though, and one jar should last you a while.

Moisturizers -Philosophy - Hope in a Jar - for all skin types
Oneirix 8/19/2007 5:10:00 AM
I like this stuff pretty well. It's light and moisturizes nicely, but I think it adds to my oily T-zone, which is a definite no-no for me. Still, it works wonders for my mom, so I'm sure it's great stuff, just not for me.

Skincare - Face -Philosophy - Acne Kit
Oneirix 8/19/2007 5:07:00 AM
I hate to be such a negative voice, but this stuff simply does not work, in my opinion. I tried it for about a month, and my pimples did not budge nor fail to reemerge, and it made my face feel extremely tight and uncomfortable. The On a Clear Day Super Wash felt fine itself, but did little to nothing and dried me out terribly. The Hydrogen Peroxide Cream felt fine, but again, did nothing for my acne. The Blemish Serum for Adult Acne smelled absolutely awful and, following the product's trend, did nada (although I admit I'm not an adult, so perhaps it wasn't formulated correctly for me). The protecting lotion was greasy feeling and it didn't seem like it did anything to my face except that. Quite simply not worth its price, or really worth it at all, if you ask me. Sorry, philosophy. :(

Scrubs -Philosophy - Amazing Grace Perfumed Hot Salt Scrub
Oneirix 8/19/2007 5:01:00 AM
This scrub is alright. I love the Amazing Grace scent, and it definitely smells like it to me, but as far as the actual "scrubbing" part goes, it's pretty average. Definitely not worth the price, and the smell doesn't stay on your body once you leave the shower. :(
