BB Cream -BRTC - Jasmine Water BB Cream SPF 30 PA++
Moonjellie14 7/16/2011 7:01:00 AM
A nice light BB cream. Didn't appreciate the scent though cuz the jasmine smells rather fake. This BB cream appears very light but blends out to match my NC20 skin tone rather well. This gives light coverage and it doesn't turn me into an oily mess, which I appreciate. But it's really just an average performer. It doesn't make my skin look as good compared to skin79 VIP gold label. A bit of a let down after reading all the hype about this BB cream.

Scrubs -Clinique - 7 Day Scrub Cream
Moonjellie14 7/16/2011 6:53:00 AM
This scrub has very fine exfoliating beads that don't make me feel like I'm sandpapering my skin. Best of all, I can see how it smoothed out my skin after the very first time I used it! Although it's supposed to be so gentle that you can use it 7 days a week (hence the name - according to the clinique sales lady), I use it about 4 times a week as the results seem to be there! It can feel greasy after you wash it off so I usually follow up with my regular cleanser and problem solved.

Moisturizers -SKII - whitening source brightener
Moonjellie14 7/16/2011 6:37:00 AM
Was suckered by the uber cool packaging. It has this really cool dispensing twist pump that dispenses product hygienically. But after I got it, I was irritated by this very same twist pump feature as it often dispenses much more product than I need and you can't see how much product you have left. That said. If the product is effective, I could overlook the packaging cons. But this does nothing to whiten nor hydrate my skin. Worse still, I think my skin is getting drier & drier because it's not getting any hydration at all. A total disappointment for such a pricey product.

Makeup Brushes -Sigma - F80 Flat Top Synthetic Kabuki (was SS197)
Moonjellie14 7/12/2011 11:28:00 AM
Love love love this brush.... I use it to buff in my LF and my BB creams... It's just fantastic how it delivers that airbrushed 2nd skin effect whatever product i use. The brush is so soft your face will love you for it. The handle though is rather fat as compared to my MAC brushes but grip feels good. One of the best brushes i've ever got and not to mention affordable too.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Moisture Surge Extended Thirst Relief
Moonjellie14 7/12/2011 11:19:00 AM
I went to the clinique counter thinking of picking this up as a moisturizer as my current one is not helping my combination dry skin very much. I was surprised when the consultant told me its NOT a moisturizer but something to put on top of my moisturizer as an added boost & as a moisture lock. This saved my skin!! I was suffering so much dryness on my cheeks & forehead, especially when in air conditioned places that my make up looks powdery on me & my skin feels like it could shatter from the tautness. Now, I always dot (a little goes a long way) moisture surge on my cheeks & forehead after my regular moisturizer and my skin stays totally hydrated throughout the day. In fact, after using it for a month together with clinique's 7 day scrub, my skin looks smoother & plumper. Wonderful products that I will recommend to anyone with dry combi skin!

Lipstick -Chanel - Rouge Allure Discrete
Moonjellie14 6/26/2011 10:16:00 AM
I got this as a gift & I absolutely love it! The lipstick is so creamy it's a dream come true for my dry lips. The colour is also very nude and natural and so easy to wear. The sleek lipstick tube which opens open with a push is also a big bonus. This has to be my favorite lipstick of all times!

Tools -Bare Escentuals - tapered blush brush
Moonjellie14 6/25/2011 8:46:00 AM
This brush doesn't blend colour so well for me, it's scratchy, it sheds, it's just not good. I've just switched to a Mac 129.

Makeup Brushes -Bare Escentuals - Double-Ended Shaping Brush
Moonjellie14 6/25/2011 8:43:00 AM
I love the larger end of this brush. I'm really bad at applying eye shadow but this brush makes it so much easier for me! The brush allows me to just color the outer edges of eye beautifully and its so easy to control. Only grouse is that this brush is double ended so I can't let it "stand" together with all my other brushes.

Treatments -Kiehls - Midnight Recovery Concentrate
Moonjellie14 5/18/2011 9:46:00 AM
2 to 3 drops of this concentrate feels very comfortable on my skin and my pores look finer and the skin more hydrated by morning. There's also a nice glow to the skin. One of my favorite skincare products.

Eyeliner -Kanebo - KATE super sharp liner
Moonjellie14 5/18/2011 9:40:00 AM
Maybe I got a defective product... There are so many rave reviews about this but it just doesn't work for me. The color will somehow bleed into the tiny grooves of the skin. Also, while this dries very quickly and is therefore almost smudge proof, it's almost impossible to wash off! I tried my oil cleanser 3 times plus my eye makeup remover, but it doesn't come off completely. There's still a light greenish tint on my skin. I will stick to my MAC PowerPoint pencil.

Blush -Bare Escentuals - Sorbet
Moonjellie14 4/30/2011 4:53:00 AM
Unlike a lot of other BE products, this colour doesn't look scary in the pot at all... But also because it's so sheer, I had to tap, swirl, buff several times to build up the colour. But the resulting blush is so pretty that this is my fav blush of all. UPDATE: I now apply this with MAC's 129 blush brush and the color goes on beautifully. I dun need to slowly build up color with BE's tapered blush brush. Conclusion - BE's brushes are really the worst. I enjoyed BE's products way better with MAC & Sigma brushes.

Palettes -Bare Escentuals - Tutorials Lesson 1 Smoky Eye
Moonjellie14 4/29/2011 8:21:00 AM
I was apprehensive about getting this set as I'm very fair. So previous attempts at smokey eyes left me looking bruised... But this kit gives a lovely smokey effect without me looking boxed! Celestine is a very flattering color and the brush is so easy to use. Love it!

Lip Gloss -Bare Escentuals - Buxom Lips- Dolly
Moonjellie14 4/28/2011 11:21:00 AM
This gloss is just fab. It gives such a lovely pout and dolly is really pretty & natural color on the lips. The minty fresh feeling is a bonus and I didn't mind that this is a little heavier thn my other glosses as it does a good job of protecting my chapped lips.

Powder -Bare Escentuals - foundation in fairly light
Moonjellie14 4/20/2011 11:23:00 AM
I hate foundations because they are so icky to put on. So I've been using a tinted moisturizer for the longest time.... Until I discovered BE's foundation. No patchiness, no stickiness and a beautifully even, dewy complexion. Although the coverage is medium at best, even with the handy buki brush, I'm sold and will continue using this product. UPDATE: After using it for a while, i find that this foundation does not last and because its powder form, my skin started to feel a little dried out. since discovering Dior Nude, that is my new go-to foundation. Nowadays I will only use my BM foundation on spots that still needs some touch-up after application of my BB cream.

Concealers -Bobbi Brown - Corrector
Moonjellie14 4/17/2011 6:07:00 AM
I'm very fair with seriously dark circles... Not a good combo. Hence I've been on a never ending search to find a great concealer. Until I found BB's corrector. I use it in bisque and BB's concealer in ivory over it. The corrector really covers over the darkness and it is very creamy & comfortable. I used to apply it with BB's concealer brush but I find that the product tends to get into my fine lines even with short feathery strokes. Now, I simply pat it on with my finger and it's perfect. No creases, no pulling.
