Mascara -Christian Dior - Diorshow Mascara
rated 4 of 5

I bought this based on the reviews here. The big brush is very nice, I was used to it by the 2nd use. I did not like this the VERY FIRST time I used it, but from then out, I really did. I think after the air hit it, it changed. It was way too wimpy the first time. I like a heavier mascara, almost clumpy. I have length, I need volume. This lengthens, thickens, and what I really notice : it separates. It must be that brush. I did not notice any smudging / flaking at all. Its not sticky / not clumpy. And the biggest plus is its so easy to remove. There is a little stiffness on the lashes ( which I like ) but I think that depends on how much you put on. I like to wear A LOT !! I have only used this about 5 times now, still testing to see how long the tube lasts, and how I like it over all. I would buy it again, I do like it now..with all the mascara choices out there, its so hard to decide these days.

Blush -Tarte - Cheek Stain in Sunkissed
rated 4 of 5
Minzi 8/15/2004 10:29:00 AM

This is my first Tarte cheek stain, I have looked at them for years. Its hard to decide what color. I had not seen this one before, I got it at Sephora in Vegas ( in the Aladdin ). This is a nice bronze / brown color, which I love with a tan. I could see how this would not work for everyone, and probably not in the winter, on lighter skin, I will have to see. I like it. I like the consistency, it has good 'play time', and it is long lasting. I really like it as a lip color. I had some Rosebud lip salve on, I put this on over it, it showed up as a sheer stain, I then put some on my cheeks with a bit of the rosebud still on my finger, and WOW ! It went on so smooth, and with just a little sheen, It was really nice. I will be doing that again. I need to figure out what other colors I want now.

Bronzers -Wet 'n' Wild - Bronzer
rated 5 of 5
Minzi 8/7/2004 9:12:00 PM

I think its called BRONZZER, but it doesn't matter. I have light/medium. I have had the same one for a few years. I like it a lot. No glitter/ no shimmer. Its totally MATTE. I use this in the summer to 'custom blend' my powder. Depending on how tan I am, I can change my regular Ivory compact powder. I use a fluffy powder brush, I run the brush across the bronzer, then the powder. This keeps me from having to buy a new face powder in the summer, that doesn't get used up, summer only lasts so long. My 'custom blending' formula is unbeatable, I have been doing it for years.

Hair -Aveda - Sap Moss shampoo & conditioner
rated 5 of 5
Minzi 8/1/2004 1:52:00 PM

I love the sap moss shampoo/conditioner. I have purchased this twice now. I have not seen seperation in the shampoo as a previous reviewer mentioned, it does look like 'pig poo' as someone else mentioned in an earlier review. All that aside, This does what it says, and I like the 'earthy' fragrance. It moisturizes, detangles and has put my dry/fried hair back in order. Most moisturizing shampoo/conditioners are too much for my fine hair, this stuff does the job with no residue. I followed other reviewers instructions of leaving the shampoo in for a few minutes,, its amazing how this stuff works with out leaving ANY residue. I am not loyal at all to any shampoo / conditioning product,,but to buy this twice is pretty good for me. My ends were always fried, most likely from heat damage, but I needed the straightening iron to smooth the ends, so it was like a catch 22, this stuff has kept my ends in shape, I am not a slave to the iron anymore. Its amazing, nothing has done that for me. Highly recommend this.

Treatments -Aveda - Sap Moss Nourishing Concentrate [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
Minzi 8/1/2004 1:46:00 PM

I use this in conjunction with the sap moss shampoo/conditioner. I like it. I gave 4 lippies as I don't know if its THE BEST. But I would re purchase. The sap moss line has really saved my hair. I have fine color treated / damaged ( from the color and heat styling ) hair with 'crispy / frizzy' ends. Those days are gone, and I went through a lot of products to find something that actually could do something for me.

Hair Styling Tools -Solano - Supersolano
rated 5 of 5
Minzi 7/12/2004 4:23:00 PM

It seems unfair not to run an ad in every major paper in the country and not let EVERYONE know that this is the best blow dryer created. Period. End of story. I can not believe the power/quality of this dryer. I blow dry my hair straight, and had always used dyers that get over heated, turn off, stop working or whatever...I always put off buying the Solano because I felt all blow dryers were created equal, this one just cost 4 times as much. ALL BLOW DRYERS ARE NOT CREATED EQUAL. If I took the cost of all the crappy dryers I have purchased, I could have bought one of these by now. I always try to buy the highest wattage, 1875 (thinking it would dry the fastest ), this Solano has 1800 and I was reluctant, but its 2000 times more effective than anything I have used. This cut my drying time in half, makes a beautiful, volume packed blow out. I can't even believe it, I don't know why the others suck so bad. I will NEVER NEVER use another dryer, will never be with out this. Never. It used to take me almost 30 minutes to dry my hair straight, the first time I did this, it was just under 15, I think I almost passed out. Its very powerful,, be careful,,the nozzle gets hot..but to save time and get a beautiful blow out, the $90 was more than worth it. Using this dryer is a joy, and I actually do not dread drying my hair anymore. If you have ever even THOUGHT about getting this, do it. It's absolutely amazing.

Treatments -Alberto Vo5 - Hot Oil Treatment
rated 4 of 5
Minzi 7/12/2004 4:16:00 PM

I come back to this product over and over. I try all kinds of intensive conditioning treatments, Aveda, Joico whatever...and they are ok, but for their price, nothing really is that great. This is great for the price. I think I would actually pay what I paid for the others for this product as I feel it really works. I use it once a week. I have long, color treated, wavy , VERY fine hair. This does not weigh it down, I feel it 'lasts' a week. I can feel a difference in my hair immediately. I only wash 3 time a week so I feel that contributes to what I perceive as a 'lasting' effect. For the price, of $2 ( actually less ) for 3 tubes, its amazing. I use one tube for a treatment. I look for other deep conditioners to do what this does, but I think I need to stop wasting money, and be glad this works for me. I think for anyone who needs a deep conditioning treatment and/or likes to torture their hair straight by blow drying and/or straightening irons..this helps a lot.

Conditioner -Suave - 2-Minute Deep Conditioning Treatment
rated 2 of 5
Minzi 6/20/2004 3:01:00 PM

I was expectingmore afer reading the reviews on MUA. This is just average. I would say its stronger than an average drug store conditioner,,but even at about $1, I don't know if I would buy it again. It didn't do much to condition or detangle. I have long, color treated fine hair that tangles up something awful...this was just blah.

Skincare - Body -Origins - Spring Fever Body Souffle
rated 5 of 5
Minzi 4/25/2004 7:18:00 PM

LOVE THIS ! the consistency is like pudding. It is very moisturizing, long lasting. Its highly fragranced, you don't even need to layer the fragrance spray with this, and is very representative of the spray. Sometimes the lotion and the actual fragrance do not smell the same, this does.

Fragrances -Origins - Spring Fever
rated 5 of 5
Minzi 4/25/2004 7:16:00 PM

I have been wearing this every spring for many years now, ( more than 5 at least ) This literally smells like the name, SPRING. Other women smell this and ALWAYS ask what it is. This is best described as very fresh, and to me, citrusy. Very grape-fruity. Not like the GAP's 'so pink' but a deeper grapefruit. I have the souffle too, the consistency is like pudding. It is lovely. I encourage ALL women to at least go to the Origins counter for a 'sniff'. This stuff is great.

Blush -Stila - Gladiola Convertible Color
rated 4 of 5
Minzi 4/24/2004 2:47:00 PM

I have been wanting this for THREE YEARS !! Stila changed the price, and it looks like the packaging ( $20 down from $28 ) and I love it. Why did I wait so long ? I love peachy / orange blush. This is very 'gel' like, but on me it lasts all day, its easy to blend, the color looks like you 'glow' from within, its great. I would buy again, and I should not have waited so long to purchase. I will buy others, Magnolia is next on my list.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Lip Lacquer in Cabiria
rated 2 of 5
Minzi 4/24/2004 2:42:00 PM

I normally don't like glosses in a pot. This has an odd smell. The color is boring, I think you can find the same thing for less. Its shiny, it lasts a decent amount of time, but I am not impressed. I would probably not try another lip laquer, this was just to boring / sheer / an average color for the price. I did sample it on my hand in sephora, and I thought I liked it, but its just average, it doesn't stand out in any way.

Lip Gloss -LORAC - Lip Polish in Amuse
rated 4 of 5
Minzi 4/24/2004 2:39:00 PM

After loving 'celebrate' I tried 'amuse', it looks flourescent pink in the bottle, but is a nice sheer pink on your lips. These are long lasting, easy to apply, and have a faint mint taste. Reminds of the glue on postal stamps, but is not offensive. I wear MAC strip down and put this over, but even over bare lips, this is fabulous. There is enough color for this to be seen, is sheer, but very nice. I will be going back and trying one of the pearlescent more opaque lip polishes in the near future. These are awesome !!

Lip Liners -Maybelline - Moisture Whip lipliner in Toast
rated 4 of 5
Minzi 4/24/2004 2:27:00 PM

This is a nice brownish/neutral lip liner. I think what I like most about the moisture whip lip liners ( besides the price ) is their texture. Very creamy, long lasting, very easily used as a lip stick, especially over a light layer of lip balm. I love these, you can't beat the colors offered, and the price. Would buy again, I have another in espresso that is darker/deeper, it is just as good.

Eyeliner -Elizabeth Arden - Eye Pencil in Umber
rated 5 of 5
Minzi 4/24/2004 2:20:00 PM

I got this with a GWP years ago, I have been using it daily for the last month. I LOVE the color, its not your standard brown. Its a little different, the color is long lasting, I find it does not fade or smudge, but is easy to blend/smudge for a smokyier eye if you like. I use the BB eyeliner brush to smudge this a bit. When this is gone, I will buy it again, I love it.
