This is a gorgeous color. It reminds me a lot of MAC coppering. It wears extremely well on my DDD complexion and looks especially beautiful paired with bronzes and golds.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Lip Lacquer in Hellfire

This is my new favorite gloss, hands down. It is such a beautiful, reddish brown color. I'm not doing justice to the color because it's just beautiful and universally flattering. I almost didn't buy it because I can't stand pot glosses anymore but this one is worth me carrying my lipbrush around in my purse again. Looks great on its own, paired with red or bronzey lipstics. I also use it with MAC Sorcery shadebender to get an even more unique reddish/bronze/slightly gold color. Would definitely repurchase.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Babe
rated 3 of 5
MightyPen 11/28/2004 9:43:00 AM

I have this and really like it. It's a perfect sheer orange/red that looks great on its own but looks even better paired with other colors. I usually wear it on top of a darker color and the combo looks amazing. I find it a little more difficult to get the product out of the tube than, say, MAC lipglasses. Otherwise, Babe is great.

Eye Shadow -NARS - Pressed Powder Eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
MightyPen 11/28/2004 9:41:00 AM

Let me say that I have been MAC exclusive for the longest and I've just "discovered" NARS and now I'm hooked! I don't understand what people are talking about when they say that NARS e/s are not pigmented and don't blend well. My experience with NARS is just the opposite -- they are far more blendable, pigmented and of higher quality than MAC (and I still *love* MAC!) The duos, singles and creme shadows that I have all wear beautifully. I especially love Night Porter from the "Night" series.

Pressed Powders -MAC - Blot Powder - Deep/Dark
rated 5 of 5
MightyPen 11/27/2004 5:47:00 PM

This is one of my HG products! I am NW45 and it's perfect for me. One thing I have noticed though is that when you do get a little shiny, it's better to blot with a tissue or blot paper first, then touch up with the product. I've found that once the puff gets a little oil on it, the oil resurfaces more quickly and the product is less effective. Otherwise, this stuff is great.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Au Contraire
rated 5 of 5
MightyPen 11/27/2004 5:37:00 PM

Oh wow, this is my new favorite purple. I almost didn't buy this because I thought it was too close to Nocturnelle but this is such a beautiful, versatile color. I wear it with almost everything and I always get compliments when I wear it. I should probably stock up on this since it is LE.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Coppering (veluxe pearl)
rated 5 of 5
MightyPen 11/27/2004 5:35:00 PM

Gorgeous color, the best of the Veluxe Pearls to me. This looks great paired with Au Contraire or with colors like Earthly Delight or Amber Lights. It's just very versatile and it goes on as smooth as silk. You almost don't even need a base with it.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Earthly Delight (lustre; Tantress)
rated 5 of 5
MightyPen 11/27/2004 5:34:00 PM

This is a beautiful and very versatile color. I wear it a lot with golds like Amber Lights and Goldmine but also with purples and with greens. Also with "reddish" colors like Cranberry. This is the standout star of the Tantress collection. I would definitely buy it again.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Orange
rated 4 of 5
MightyPen 11/27/2004 5:32:00 PM

This is really a beautiful, versatile color. It goes well with golds, bronzes and even purples. It looks great alone. And the best kept secret about Orange? It looks great as a blush. It compares to NARS Exhibit A blush. It looks great as blush on me paired with Raizin blush. I would definitely buy this again.

Blush -NARS - Exhibit A
rated 4 of 5
MightyPen 11/27/2004 5:28:00 PM

I love this blush. As others have noted, it's definitely a "less is more" type situation. I usually just use it on the apples of my cheeks as a highlight to another color. It's gorgeous. Well-pigmented and it doesn't break me out.

Liquid -NARS - Balanced Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 2 of 5
MightyPen 11/27/2004 5:18:00 PM

I have NARS balanced foundation in Tahiti and Jamaica (I mix them and I wear Jamaica, the lighter color, as concealer). I love this foundation. I literally threw out my MAC StudioFix after buying it. My skin is not acne-prone but it is oily. This foundation gives me a perfect, flawless look and it does not make me oilier. I was surprised to learn that the second ingredient is Mineral Oil because it provides such a smooth, flawless look and doesn't break me out at all. I would definitely buy this again. No more MAC foundations for me. EDIT: I am going to have to eat my words -- this foundation broke me out terribly and I don't use it anymore.

Blush -NARS - Taos

MightyPen 11/27/2004 5:14:00 PM

This color is gorgeous on me! I am a MAC NW45 and this color really compliments my skin tone. It's long lasting and it doesn't break me out like some other blushes do. I love it!

Eye Shadow -NARS - Night Porter
rated 5 of 5
MightyPen 11/27/2004 5:10:00 PM

I *love* this eyeshadow. It is the perfect green for a smokey eye, for contrast in the outer lid or for lining. I used to be pretty much MAC exclusive but NARS shadows are much more pigmented and higher quality. Night Porter looks beautiful and blends well wet or dry. I would definitely buy it again but I think this one is going to last for a good, long while.

Eye Shadow -MAC - Pink Bronze Pigment
rated 4 of 5
MightyPen 3/19/2004 4:06:00 AM

This is a beautiful color that is true to it's name. Applied wet you definitely get a "duochrome" effect. Applied dry it flashes more gold than pink. It looks lovely with bronzes and golds. I've mostly been a pigment sample girl but I liked this one so much I actually bought the whole container.

Lipstick -MAC - Viva Glam V
rated 4 of 5
MightyPen 3/19/2004 3:54:00 AM

I immediately bought the lipstick and lipglass online and I'm glad I did. I was worried initially that the lippie would be too pink and "chalky" for my NW45 complexion but it really is a perfectly lovely YLBB color. Very sheer, subtle beigey pink. Paired with Chestnut lipliner and with VGV lipglass slicked across the top, it's gorgeous. Especially for daytime or paired with a more dramatic eye look.
