Palettes -E.L.F. - ENDLESS EYES 100 EYESHADOW PALETTE
rated 4 of 5
MegamiMoon 3/19/2011 5:14:00 PM

I love the array of colors. The pigmentation is okay, nothing like MAC or Urban Decay, but more drugstore quality, which is still a steal. Some colors are more pigmented than others. The packaging isn't the best. My sister and my best friend have the same palette and within a short amount of time, the hinges broke on all of our palettes. Really fun for creating lots of different, colorful looks.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HiP Color Chrome Eyeliner Silver Lightning
rated 5 of 5
MegamiMoon 11/16/2010 2:13:00 PM

Really great quality eyeliner with very bold color and amazing texture. I use silver as a base on the inner corners of my eyes before layering with light, shimmery shadows as a highlight. This is a very highly pigmented pencil. The color goes on super-smoothly with barely a touch and has a great liquid-like quality to it. I've never used anything like it and I don't think I can go back. It's a little pricey for a drugstore eyeliner, about $8-$10 depending on where you get it. It still beats paying twice as much for something comparable at Sephora.

Eyeliner -L'Oreal - HIP Color Chrome- Black Shock
rated 5 of 5
MegamiMoon 11/16/2010 2:06:00 PM

This is a fantastic black eyeliner! Granted, the metallic shimmer is very subtle, but really, I only use black pencil liner as a base before layering eyeshadow over it. I really love how soft and pigmented it is. The product glides on very dark and bold with the slightest touch. Love it! Update: I used this liner to achieve a dark, smoky eye, as seen in my uploaded photo. Lotions/ Creams -Victoria's Secret - beauty rush body drink lotion- juiced berry
rated 5 of 5
MegamiMoon 11/16/2010 2:00:00 PM

Along with the Candy, Baby! fragrance, Juiced Berry is my absolute favorite Beauty Rush fragrance. It's scent imitates strawberry Kool-Aid pretty closely and is sweet, light, and refreshing. The lotion formula is very moisturizing, absorbs quickly, and is non-greasy. I love how Beauty Rush products are 3/$25, making it easy for me to stock up on my favorites every now and then.

Lotions/ Creams -Victoria's Secret - Beauty Rush Candy Baby - Body Drink Lotion
rated 5 of 5
MegamiMoon 9/12/2010 1:34:00 PM

I love this body lotion! It smells great and the fragrance really lasts. It absorbs well, keeping my skin soft and smooth without leaving it sticky or greasy. I like rubbing in on my hands and wrists as well as my neck before going out in place of perfume. When I walk through the office at work, my coworkers always get a whiff and sigh: "Oooh...cotton candy!".

Eye Makeup Remover -L'Oreal - Clean Artiste
rated 4 of 5
MegamiMoon 6/3/2010 2:56:00 PM

Pretty good stuff! Not *quite* as good as Lancome's version, but the price is right and it works well enough. I didn't have a problem removing my waterproof eye makeup. The push and twist cap is a little annoying, otherwise I would definitely purchase this cleanser again.

Hair Styling Tools -Conair - Infiniti Tourmaline Ceramic Ionic Dryer 217B with Folding Handle
rated 3 of 5
MegamiMoon 4/29/2010 12:41:00 PM

I purchased this dryer at a very low price from TJ Maxx because I've heard a lot of good things about tourmaline/ceramic/ionic technology. Well, it pretty much does what a hairdryer does, it dries your hair. Other than that, I wasn't really impressed. The folding handle is convenient since I live in a tiny apartment with limited storage space. However the dryer only has 1 heat setting and then two power settings, high and low. High is waaaaaay too high. My hair gets blown all over the place and gets tangled in the process. The low setting is uselessly low. Also, the labeling started rubbing off a few weeks after I started using it, so now, you can't even tell where the high and low indicators are. Not very high-quality manufacturing. I wouldn't purchase this again and wish I would have stuck with my Revlon RV544 Tourmaline Ionic Dryer which I gave away because I thought this one would be better. Wrong!

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Deep Clean Gentle Scrub
rated 5 of 5
MegamiMoon 4/29/2010 2:01:00 AM

When they discontinued my Pond's Fresh Start cleanser, I was super bummed out. I was looking for a comparable replacement when I decided to pick up a tube of Neutrogena's Deep Clean Gentle Scrub. I've been using it for nearly two weeks now and I love it! First, it smells delicious! Like an orange creamsicle. Second, it makes a rich, creamy lather with gentle, but effective scrubbing particles. It washes away clean and leaves my skin feeling super-soft afterward. I'm going to stick to this one for awhile. I hope they don't discontinue this product anytime soon.

Blush -Milani - Smooth Finish Blush - Luminous
rated 4 of 5
MegamiMoon 3/26/2010 1:22:00 PM

This blush is a warm, peachy shade with gold shimmer. I find it very pretty, but because of my more medium skin tone, it requires a little building up. I use it to blend and soften more pigmented blush colors.

Makeup Brushes -Sonia Kashuk - Concealer Brush
rated 5 of 5
MegamiMoon 3/26/2010 1:20:00 PM

I have the white-handled concealer brush from Sonia Kashuk's regular brush collection. In general, I find that it's a good concealer brush that does the job. Also good for applying eyeshadow primer. At $5.99 a piece, I would definitely purchase again.

Makeup Brushes -Unlisted Brand - Studio Tools Medium Shadow Brush
rated 5 of 5
MegamiMoon 3/25/2010 2:10:00 AM

I use this brush to apply light, shimmery shadows to enhance my brow bone and to highlight the inner corners of my eyes. It's super-soft, doesn't shed, and does the job. I purchased two. One for warm shades and one for cool. For less than $3 each from Target, you can't lose.

Makeup Brushes -Unlisted Brand - Studio Tools Crease Brush
rated 5 of 5
MegamiMoon 3/25/2010 2:07:00 AM

There aren't enough good things to say about this crease brush. It's inexpensive (less than $3 each), soft, doesn't shed, and allows me to blend and shade with great precision. I love it so much that I went out and bought 2 more after trying it out.

Makeup Brushes -Unlisted Brand - Studio Tools Smudge Brush
rated 5 of 5
MegamiMoon 3/25/2010 1:59:00 AM

I LOVE my smudge brush. For the past few years, I've been using a smudge brush that came with a makeup brush set I purchased. It's been more than 3 years and to this day it still sheds and is scratchy against my sensitive skin. In retrospect, I'm not sure why I continued to use it. Well, I finally got sick of it last week and stopped by Target on my way home from work to purchase a cheap replacement. OMG! The Studio Tools smudge brush was a tremendous change from my crappy old smudge brush. From the start, it didn't shed one bit. It's also luxuriously soft and applies my shadows like a dream. I went back the next day and bought 2 more, at less than $3 a piece, how could I not?

Misc Beauty Tools -Shu Uemura - Eyelash Curler
rated 1 of 5
MegamiMoon 3/17/2010 4:58:00 PM

Let me start by saying that I LOVE Shu Uemura's eyelash curler. I have small, almond shaped eyes, a shallow socket, and very short lashes, therefore all the Revlon, Maybelline, and L'Oreal brand curlers never worked for me. Shu Uemura's eyelash curler gives me a perfect curl every time with no fear of getting pinched. That being said, I was very put off by the fact that you can't purchase refill silicone pads for the eyelash curler. The curler comes with one silicone pad already installed and one refill. Each pad is supposed to last you no more than 3 months, which essentially means you have to purchase a new eyelash curler every 6 months. First, I think it's a waste of money because the actual curler is still in good condition and very much usable. Second, I think it's an actual waste to have to throw away a perfectly good curler just because you can't get a replacement pad. In response to this dilemma, I actually contacted Shu Uemura and told them that, while I love their product, they should at least have a program where customers can send them used curlers to recycle in order to reduce waste. I'm sure they wouldn't have that much wear and tear after only 6 months. Heck, I've had mine for almost 5 years now and it's in practically mint condition. It would also be cool if they gave us, like, 10% off the cost of our next curler as a reward for recycling. They responded to me 2 days later with a VERY unsatisfactory email. They basically told me that they weren't interested in recycling and if I wanted to recycle my eyelash curler, I had to find a way to do it myself. In addition to that, they gave me some lame excuse as to why I HAD TO purchase a new eyelash curler every 6 months. Something about how the aluminum and silicone were constructed in a way where they only work optimally for 6 months and will actually HARM your eyelashes if you don't throw them out and buy a new set. What a load of BULLSHIT! I have the letter they sent me, btw, if anyone is interested. And that is the reason why I will NEVER purchase another Shu Uemura eyelash curler again, even though I love them. I tried to sensibly appeal to them and felt dismissed. It's as if the feedback and opinions of their customers, who are responsible for sustaining their multi-million dollar empire, don't matter. That's why I'm defecting to Shiseido, who produces a perfectly comparable eyelash curler and who has the good sense to sell refill silicone pads.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Stylish Smokes in Emerald Smokes
rated 3 of 5
MegamiMoon 3/17/2010 4:34:00 PM

Three and a half lippies. I wouldn't exactly describe this color combination as "emerald". When I think of emeralds, I think of deep, vibrant shades of green. Emerald Smokes consists of more earthy greens, reminiscent of olive and moss with shimmery taupe undertones. Overall, this quad achieves a very natural smokey look. The eyelid and the brow bone shades have decent pigment and are pretty true to color. The crease and corner shades, however, require a little more work to build up and don't really get as dark as I'd like. For an intense smoke you must blend in black for a more dramatic look. (I use MAC's Carbon) Overall, not a bad product.
