I tried this color at Sephora, and it looked pretty amazing on my green eyes with some light shimmery purple shadow. Once it dries, it lasts!
So far so good. Love the color...has goldish sparkle and an overall olive-ey shade....I like it on my green eyes though it looks more brownish to me once it is on. I find it to be GREAT with Zoom eyeshadow by Smashbox (a light green). Might try the purplish one too though. Packaging is cute...seems like a bit pricey for the amount in the pot, but who knows, maybe it'll last like the other reviewers are saying it will.
Conditioner -Alba Botanica - very emollient daily rinse conditioner

I have a lot of hair, very thick, very wavy. I used Pantene b/c it smelled nice and was cheap. My hair was very damaged. My stylist said to try this as a compromise for 1) something you can get for less then $10 a bottle, 2) available at a local non-specialty store, and 3) won't damage hair. I switched from Pantene to this and the difference is UNREAL. You can see the line in my hair where I stopped using Pantene. I get this for $8 at Whole Foods and I love it.
Gels/Soaps -Caress - Cashmere Luxury Silkening Body Wash
Marzipan 2/25/2007 10:09:00 PM
I LOVE this stuff. $3 at Walgreens, VERY silkening as it promises on the label, HEAVENLY scent. The product looks like it is liquid pearls! It leaves a lingering scent on my skin most of the day, which I was surprised about. If you like the scent it is a great buy.
I got this as a gift and it has lasted me forever. I use it everytime my collarbone is showing or sometimes I use it on my neck. It gives me a great glimmer, and it smells like candy which guys seem to like. I always use it in combo with a perfume because it can be overwhelming. If you apply lotion to your skin forst...make sure your skin dries completely before applying this poweder, otherwise it will sort of pile on and be really concentrated in spots rather than dust all over your skin. Its hard to spread around too once it is on your skin, so use it sparingly.
Moisturizers -Pro Activ - Pro Activ Spf 15 oil free moisturizer
Marzipan 10/16/2006 10:40:00 AM
I love this oil free moisturizer. It keeps my skin hydrated and protected every day. I use it even at night or when I won't even be in the sun at all all day. It is light, absorbs quickly, and keeps my skin from drying out after using all the proactiv acne fighting products. Ok, it has now been exactly 10 months since I started using ProActiv to combat acne. I am still very devoted to this brand. It is kind of pricey, especially if you buy it in the mall at one of those kiosks but - WOW - does it make my skin look and feel great. It is well worth it as far as I am concerned.
I had problem skin and tried this at the recc of many of you on MUA since it seemed to be a gentle cleanser. It did not help my skin at all and when I told my dermo about me using it he said not to use it because it has oil in it (I now know I can't use anything with oil in it). I think it might work best for those with drier skin. My dermo did say it would be a great lotion to use for shaving since it would not dry out my legs at all and would be a good shaving lubricant.
I love this scent and after one sample vial I MUST have more....and my new BF likes it too! It is kind of masculine but I love it.
Lotions/ Creams -Johnson & Johnson - Softlotion - extra care healing lotion
Marzipan 6/21/2006 1:51:00 PM
I am not reveiwing this particular lotion...but am placing the reveiw here because there is no section for Huggies brand lotions yet. My legs started itching when I moved up here to the NW from Texas...and I could not figure out why. I stopped using all the products I usually use to eliminate certain causes....I even stopped soaping and shaving my legs! I finally saw a dermo and he said it was simply dryness. He recc'd J&J lotions since they are for babies and very sensitive skin. I almost bought the J & J lotions which I have tried before and loved, but found too $$...and instead I bought the Huggies version of the same stuff. I got the frag free one and it moisturizes so well! My legs still feel moisturized even after almost 24 hours. Then itchiness is almost gone completely.
I bought this because I feel that my skin lacks moisture...even though I am very happy with the Proactiv system, and have been now for 6 months. My skin is very clear and the only thing that concerns me is that I can't use any products with oil in them on my skin or I will break out (usually). I wanted a night cream to moisturize my skin while I slept and Proactiv does not make one. They do make a great oil free spf 15 moisturizer which I love and use daily....but anyway, I bought this Olay product because it is oil free and it makes me wake up with red skin. I used it for one week and saw no promising signs so I returned it.
I have been using this product since Jan 2006...and it worked for me. I use the 3 step system and the oil free moisturizer with spf 15 on days when it is sunny. Other days I use an oil free moisturizer by Jeunique called Moisturessence. When I do use the oil free moisture with spf 15 I feel as if my skin is hydrated. I am pretty religious about following the 3-step system, but I rarely use it at night - mostly just in the morning. I can count on a breakout when I am pms-ing..but other than that this system keeps my acne at bay. My only complaint is that the active ingredient in this system bleaches everything (towels and PJ's), so be careful that you wash your hands after applying the repairing lotion!!! Otherwise you'll see bleach spots on anything you touch. Even though my skin is not flawless, this system has kept it looking nice and feeling very soft and has cured my adult acne pretty well. I am a believer in this system though I know it does not work for everyone. I tired a new system (Babor) b/c my new boyfriends mom is a facialist and she has perfect skin (at age 60). After 4 months I got tired of the cystic acne that had begun popping up. I went back to Proactive and I LOVE IT. My skin is already getting nice again after only 5 days of use. Thank god for Proactiv!
Shampoo -Alba Botanica - very emollient replenishing shampoo
Marzipan 10/26/2005 4:57:00 PM
I read the reveiws of this product on here and was worried about this line...in fact I almost decided to forgo trying it at all...but the bottom line for me is that I can't afford to spend all my $$ on Aveda products, good as they may be. So I thought this was an ok compromise and my hairdresser said this product was decent. She also told me Pantene is the worst possible thing you can put on your hair. I have been using Pantene for YEARS. SO, anyway, I got this shampoo and the daily rinse conditionaer too. My hair is left clean, silky, and has good slip.
I saw the infomercial for this product....and of course was skeptical...but I was mesmerized by the testimonials I saw on tv. So I found out that this product was available at Sephora. I went in to the store (Spehora) with no makeup on. I applied the powder concealer, both to conceal and highlight too. Then I applied the Id powder, then I finished with the Mineral Veil. WOW - this product works just as it claims to in the commercials. I am totally loyal to this product now. The powder lasts a long time (many aplpications) and makes my skin look AIRBRUSED. My skin is ok, not horrible, but not great either. This product makes me look as if I have GREAT SKIN. I also sometimes use my Shiseido concealer in place of the BE concealer powder sometimes if I have more to cover.
Lotions/ Creams -Clinique - Deep Comfort Body Butter
Marzipan 10/24/2005 3:43:00 PM
I hate spending a lot of $$ on lotions...and I usually opt for drugstore brands like Eucerin or Curel, etc....but I had a sample of this stuff and decided to give it a try on my sper dry legs this morning after my shower. WOW - it is now 3 pm and my legs feel soft and moisturized but they never felt greasy or slippery. AWESOME - I think this is my new winter moisturizer (since it is too hot to moisturize my body in the summer).
Gels/Soaps -Philosophy - Old Fashioned Eggnog 3 in 1
Marzipan 6/22/2005 11:34:00 AM
I get a real Rum smell from this product. For a shower gel..I find it to be great. It lathers very well and seems quality and smells incredible, like true egg nog. I would never use it to wash my hair...only as a shower gel or bubble bath. The only issue I have with this product is that it only comes in large bottles and I hate having to use up a whole bottle of something before moving on to another scent. I wish they would sell this item in a 4 oz size. They do sell mini's but you have to buy them in a set of 3 or more...
