Polishes -Wet 'n' Wild - Fast Dry Nail Color- How I Met Your Magenta
Martigras 10/22/2011 11:51:00 PM
I have this color, also owning the 'Gray's Ananomy', 'Fushiarama', and 'Buffy the Violet Slayer'. THEIR COLORS ARE BEAUTIFUL BUT I FOUND TOO MANY CONS TO PURCHASE ANYMORE OF THESE. I find the bottle and applicator not well thought out and the polish itself, very thick and gloppy, not drying quickly at all, even when carefully trying to put on a thin coat. Will stick with the reg. Wet N Wild or the NYC in a Minute polishes for now. I also use and buy a lot of Sally Hansen.

Treatments (Eye) -Garnier - Anti dark circle roller
Martigras 10/21/2011 7:09:00 AM
I just purchased this about a month ago and absolutely love it. Not only for what it does but how great it feels on the eyes. SO REFRESHING. Mine is in the sheer tint, which is good because I have very fair skin. This has taken the place and looks much better than any under eye concealer. I highly recommend trying this stuff. I used to go for the more expensive products but am now finding a lot of the lesser priced one work the same, even usually better.

Treatments (Eye) -Nivea - Q10 Plus Wrinkle Control Eye Cream
Martigras 10/21/2011 7:03:00 AM
As I age, am buying more and more anti-aging creams and ointments. Sometimes I don't even know what to do with them. Do I wear more than one at a time under my MU? I own expensive and not so expensive creams and moisturizers and have even been purchasing Smashbox 'Green Primer' and 'Photo Finish' under MU products. I get so darned confused. I've now found that if I mix a bit of my new Aveeno sheer facial moisturizer, along with some of my Smashbox moisturizer on my face, don't need any foundation or any primers or photo finishes at all. Then take my new Garnier ball under eye roller stick, which works great instead of a concealer, my face is set to go, ready for just eyeliner, mascara, blush, and lip stick or colored gloss. I'm actually finding at the age of almost 57, less is more. With no powder, there's no creases showing under my eyes anymore. And just w/i the last month or so, started wearing my long, dyed auburn hair basically down now. And not only I feel that I look better than ever, but the hubby agrees. LOL!! Last month, my woman psychologist walked right on by me with my new look, and we've known each other for yrs. She was used to me with caked on MU and my hair always up in a french twist or bun.

Treatments -Lancome - High Resolution with Fibrelastine
Martigras 10/21/2011 6:41:00 AM
The only reason I'm using this is because I got it for free from a friend. It does feel good on the skin and smells wonderful, but do alternate using it, along with my Smashbox 'Starlight Lightening Moisterizer', which I purchase off eBay in 2.2 fl oz. I also sometimes mix in some of my Aveeno sheer tinted facial moisterizer to make the Aveeno not as thick. I love the Aveeno, being one of my most recent finds, but truly do find it almost like wearing foundation w/o thinning it.

Polishes -New York Color - In a New York Color Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish
Martigras 10/19/2011 10:12:00 PM
I recently discovered this great, very inexpensive brand of nail polish at Walmart and am scooping up all the colors I can. The hubby knowing every wk., while shopping for groceries and etc., am coming home with at least 2 new colors. A cheap, little splurge for myself. This one is #220 / Canal Street, which is a nice, deep, raisin shade. I also have the #242 / Uptown, which is a neat, bright bubble gum pink shade. I have more shades of theirs but can't find them all right now. I have a huge lunch box full of my polishes. I agree that with 2 coats and the splurge of a fast drying top coat, these are a great value and come in so many colors. With 2 carefully applied coats and 1-2 coats of Sally Hansen's 'Super Quick Drying ' top coat, my mani lasts for at least a wk., or however long I choose it to.

Treatments -Sally Hansen - VitaSurge Cuticle Gel
Martigras 10/19/2011 3:58:00 PM
This is the 1st time I've ever needed help with my cuticles, after a summer of daily gardening, even wearing gloves. I carefully researched and read the ingredients on the various items on the market, finding the majority of them to be all oils of some sort. Jojoba, Vitamin E, Olive Oil, etc. I could soak my cuticles in my own Olive Oil, or even mineral or baby oil at home for a lot less $. I finally saw this product at Walmart last wk. for only $4.97, deciding to give it a chance. AND BOY, AM I GLAD I DID!! This stuff works great. I used it on my nails 2-3x's a day for several days and my cuticles are back to being normal and soft. I highly recommend this product.

Fragrances -Unlisted Brand - Instyle Fragrance
Martigras 10/19/2011 3:10:00 PM
I too am new to these Lifestyle fragrances and thus far am very pleased with them. Got them (2) for $11.99 @ Walgreens. Purchased one Estee Lauder's Senuous, a Dolce&Gabanna 'The One', a Donna Karan's 'Cashmere Mist', and lastly a bottle of Thierry Mugler's 'Angel'. And absolutely love them all. I gave away my 2 long standing personal scents to my neighbor. My 'Opium' by Yves Saint Laurent and my 'Ciara'. I DID find however, that the InStyle version of 'Opium' not as strong and gagging as the real thing and may end up purchasing theirs in the future. Also, I've had a long time problem with falling asleep at night and with the prices offered of the Lifestyle fragrances, am able to squirt some on both wrists before crawling in bed, using them as 'aroma-therapy', happily drifting off with a wrist by my nose.LOL

Fragrances -Gres - Cabotine
Martigras 10/17/2011 1:59:00 AM
To be honest, purchased this full bottle at a thrift store, marked down to $3.99. Thought the bottle very cute and would look nice on my dresser. That night, after bathing and getting prepared to make love to my dear husband, squirted a bit on myself. HECK, SOMETHING DIFFERENT! Just one squirt was way, way too much and I ended up taking a wet towel to rid myself of the strong, vile smell. It burnt my eyes and lost my loving mood. Poor, dear husband.

Fragrances -Yves Saint Laurent - Opium
Martigras 10/16/2011 12:14:00 AM
Yaaay!! With my husband's encouragement, finally tossed what was left of this into the trash can. I stupidly thought because I'd pd. so much for it yrs. ago, should like and wear it. I always tried to not use to much, but even so, it always seemed to be too, too heavy of a scent, making my eyes water at times, cause migraines, which I have many of anyway. NOW HAVE THE HUBBY'S BLESSING TO GO TOMORROW AND FIND SOME NEW SCENTS I ACTUALLY LIKE!! I just started buying and purchasing the Lifestyle fragrances at Walgreens and found their version of 'Opium' not as strong and extremely cloying as the real thing, thus, may be purchasing theirs in the near future.

Cleansers -Aveeno - Positively Ageless Daily Cleansing Pads
Martigras 10/5/2011 1:03:00 PM
I absolutely love these. I first use make up removal pads on the face, then follow-up with one of these, loving to see how dirty my face still is. Afterward use, my face feels so soft and not dry at all.

Moisturizers -Aveeno - Positively Radiant Daily Moisturizer SPF 30
Martigras 10/5/2011 1:00:00 PM
I love this stuff, owning it in the fair to light tint. I do find, however, that it tends to be on the thick side, almost like a foundation, but add a bit of moisturizer to it to counteract this. Being almost 57, I'm finding that less seems better wearing makeup, finding that if I let this dry, don't need to use powder, thus, not having anything cake in my lines below my eyes. Then use Garnier under eye- dark circle removal serum instead of concealer. The only reason I gave it 4 lipsticks is that with my very fair skin, wish it came in even a lighter shade. I AM FINDING THAT EVERYTHING I PURCHASE FROM AVEENO TO BE GREAT AND WELL WORTH THE $.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - All-In-One Makeup Removing Cleansing Wipes
Martigras 10/5/2011 12:52:00 PM
I love these towelettes for my make up removal. They even work great taking off my water proof mascara and eyeliner, plus don't irritate the eyes or skin. Another nice thing about this product is how after buying the 1st, initial package that comes in a plastic case, you can then purchase re-fills for it, I believe at a savings of about $1.00.

Hair Color -Clairol - Herbal Essences Hair Color [DISCONTINUED]
Martigras 10/5/2011 12:40:00 PM
I tried this in the Medium Auburn after being sent a free coupon for it by Clairol. I'd used the Nice and Easy mousse, which I normally use and not only got a horrible, dark color, but also a reaction. This stuff is great, getting the color desired. I wish I could find it in a light auburn, not knowing if they make it. I like the added, extra packet of coloring included to refresh the color. It says to use it about 2 wks. after coloring, but waited close to a month, now not needing to re-color it for awhile. The only bad thing I can say about it is the cheap prs. of gloves included. THEY DO INCLUDE 2 PRS. THOUGH, for the initial coloring and the refreshing packet. They're such a thin plastic that if one has nails at all, easily puncture.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous mascara
Martigras 9/6/2011 3:19:00 AM
I like other reviewers feel that this brand is a steady stand by, having used it for literally 20 yrs. off and on. I've strayed, trying other brands. Some of those being very costly but unable to equal this formula. I tried this with the 'telescopic' applicator a few months ago, however and returned it immediately to the store. It wasn't any easier to use, having poked myself in the eye the 1st time using it, smearing all my previously neatly put on make-up, needing to start all over!!

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - 'Green Room Collection' Hybrid 2-in-1 Luminizing Primer
Martigras 9/6/2011 3:12:00 AM
I have this in the 'Bare Canvas' and like it a lot. Being older, it does add a bit of the lost luster my skin used to have. I do however, squirt it into my hand 1st and mix it up before applying it. I don't remember exactly what I pd. for it on eBay but it wasn't overly priced in my opinion. I buy all my Smashbox, among other brands and items there, finding my desired product, putting in a search for it, finding the best deal. I always use the 'Buy it Now' feature, not wanting to "dink around with bidding". WHEN I WANT IT, I WANT IT. Its just not worth waiting 5-7 days to find out that I saved a whooping $.50 on it or lost it. Just added more on this review on 11/8. I find myself using this a lot more frequently now, as a foundation. It seems to give me a wonderful glow and DH has commented on it.
