Eye Shadow -MAC - Sumptuous Olive (Veluxe pearl)

This is my favorite eyeshadow, it's a chrome green/brown, it looks like a very browned green, and is a very wearable green that brings out my brown eyes, and will definitely bring out anyones green eyes as the colours green and brown definitely compliment eachother. The quality of the eyeshadow itself is great, as it's very pigmented and smooth with little to no fallout I definitely reccommend this to anyone it's perfect alone, with a matte brown in the crease or with a black winged eyeliner.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Natureluxe mousse mascara
rated 2 of 5
MakeupMary3 8/13/2011 9:46:00 PM

I was hoping for a bit more out of this mascara, it has the plastic spikey wand, and the packaging is the same cute green combo as is seen on the foundation and gloss balms. Unlike a few mascaras this one doesn't have some funky scent. The packaging is very sleek, and the stopper is pretty good as you can hear the definite "pop" when you open up the tube. I guess since this is from the "natural" natureluxe line i should've expected this from the mascara, but never the less I am dissapointed. This mascara didn't even give me the soft, feathery, enhanced look of last blast fusion, which had its dramatic days and it's natural days. It just added a bit of lift seperation, and a tad bit of length, volumizing was minimal. It just didn't do it for me, however if you are on the market for a very natural mascara this is for you. First time makeup buyers should pick this up as it is easy to use, and to be honest with you the 1st coat looks better than the 2nd. For once a mascara that is only good for one coat, a second seems to weigh down the lashes and eliminate most curl. Unless you want only the tiniest bit of "oomph" from a mascara, I don't reccommend this.

Eye Shadow -NYX - Jumbo Eye Shadow Pencil - Yogurt
rated 3 of 5

The colour is super gorgeous, it's really creamy and is a great eyeshadow base. However it creases, pretty badly on it's own, even with a shadow base and a loose powder put on top, however you can't see the bad creasing unless you close your eyes, while they're open you can't really tell. So they're pretty alright, I just wish I could find a way to get them to stop creasing so bad : / Cause yogourt is THE perfect champagne colour.

Eye Makeup Remover -Sephora - Express Waterproof Eye Make-up Remover w/ vitamin E
rated 4 of 5
MakeupMary3 5/23/2011 11:49:00 PM

I love this makeup remover! (I'm not talking about the pads, but the one that comes in the plastic bottle.) Unlike the Lancome Bi-Facils Dual layer makeup remover, it's not as oily, and my eyes used to get very cloudy after using the product. This makeup remover requires a shake, and smoothly wipes away my waterproof makeup remover like a dream. I really like the packaging, it doesn't leak, I like the twist cap, and the bottle is made out of a great unbreakable matieral. The small holle at the top of the bottle gives for good control with the liquid.

Concealers -Maybelline - Super Stay 24 Hour Concealer
rated 4 of 5
MakeupMary3 5/23/2011 11:16:00 PM

It's unfortunate that there's only 4 shades to this concealer, however I found a shade that does a pretty good job at matching me; Medium Beige. The coverage for this concealer is medium to heavy, based on how much you build, it dries quickly, and a little goes a long way so I recommend doing a dot at a time for the undereye area, and blending quickly a makeup sponge for maximum coverage. Application is smooth with the doefoot applicator, even though it appears as if you're not getting a very large tube of product, it's only 10 bucks (Canadian currency), and just one pull of the doefoot has enough product on it to conceal both undereye circles (mine are pretty bad) and a bit left over to cover some major blemishes. However it is a bit drying, so I suggest putting some sort of makeup base on first, I simply use a dab of foundation under both eyes. This will prevent it from overdrying and settling into fine lines. Even if it does, it's not that too noticable, and it's a very long lasting concealer. I've repurchased this product 3 times it's THAT good :). However it's unfortunate that overdoing this concealer is easy, be careful or you may get a cakey look.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Million Lashes
rated 3 of 5
MakeupMary3 5/23/2011 10:59:00 PM

My expectations for this product were pretty high, I've heard numerous positive reviews from youtube gurus, and even people that I've met. I however, was nothing short of dissapointed. First of all the packing is pretty nice, you get quite a bit of product for an alright price, it's about a buck more than I'd like to spend, however L'Oreal mascara's do tend to run a little more expensive. It's pretty packaging, I love how it clicks shut when you close it, so you know that you close it all the way, and the mascara is airtight. It's never difficult to open, unlike the lashblast fusion. However fingerprints can be seen easily on the golden packaging. The smell may bother some people, it's somewhat floral, however I can't even smell it once I've raised the wand to my eye. The formula is very wet, and although the wand is made out of those plastic wands, those are usually very seperating, however probably because of the formula my lashes would clump together instantly, with no volume, well there was some if you count clumping lashes as volume. There was some length, it's a very tricky mascara and if I'm lucky I'll get few clumps, and some seperation. However the mascara is crap at holding a curl, it makes my lashes droop. Bottom line, it delivers no volume, clumpy formula, little to no seperation, and some length. Unless you have sparse lashes this will clump them.

Lipstick -Clinique - Different Lipstick - Raspberry Glace
rated 5 of 5
MakeupMary3 5/1/2011 12:01:00 AM

I LOVE this lipstick, my faves are this one, and my Lancome Color Design lipstick in Ooh lala! It's a gorgeous berry colored lipstick, that's moisturizing, pretty long lasting, and I think it will compliment most skintones. Contrary to some reviewers I don't think it's too bright at all, perfect for both day and night :)

Lip Gloss -Clinique - Long Last Glosswear SPF 15 in Bonfire
rated 4 of 5
MakeupMary3 4/30/2011 11:53:00 PM

Pretty nice packaging, it looks very clean cut and the stopper is pretty good, not messy, although there is a bit of extra residue at the tip of the doe foot applicator that you may wish to watch out for. The colour is gorgous, a sultry pinkish, red with some shimmer. Although the product itself it is a bit sticky, it's VERY long lasting and moisturizing, will definitely repurchase..

Polishes -OPI - Black Shatter
rated 4 of 5
MakeupMary3 3/26/2011 5:07:00 PM

I <3 Black Shatter, It dries nice and quickly and I really enjoy the super shattered effect you get with a thin coat, I don't really like the way it looks when peole apply a really thick coat, it just looks trashy. It can add spice to any dull nail colour that looks boring just by itself. It looks REALLY nice with OPI's Don't Mess With OPI from their Texas collection.

Polishes -OPI - Don't Mess With OPI
rated 4 of 5
MakeupMary3 3/26/2011 5:02:00 PM

I was slightly dissapointed with this product, although I really liked the colour, something about the formula wasn't right. The application was as smooth as it should've been, I needed more than a couple coats on some of my nails. Even then there's areas on my nails that're still so light that i can still see my nail through it, although that wouldn't regularily be a problem if were a really light or nude colour, Don't Mess With OPI is a forest green. However besides the slight problem with the opaqueness, I really like it, and am currently wearing it with the Black Shatter polish from the Katy Perry collection.

Eye Shadow -Bloom - Whisper
rated 2 of 5
MakeupMary3 3/17/2011 9:54:00 PM

I saw this beautiful champagne colour in the store, I fell in love, it was the exactly colour that I'd been looking for. However the pigmentation is just PATHETIC for the price. I rubbed a bit of it on my fingers and there was little to no pigmentation. It was really powdery and cheap. For the price 24$ (either american or CAD I'm not sure, but that's what it says on the website.) it's just terrible, I tried this other eyeshadow on my fingers that cost around 5-7$ (CAD) in the store and it had much more pigmentation plus it was much smoother than the Bloom eyeshadow. Which has a very dry consistency. The packaging is, although cute, but imagine having alot of these (which would be a total waste of money) the packaging is this although cute, really inconvienient, the silver little compact that it comes with is nice, and the mirror is handy, however you cannot see the colour from the packaging and it will just take a bit longer to find out with one is which. Overall: I would never buy these shadows, I tried on another one on my fingers called:Taupe, and the pigmentation and consistency was the same as that of Whisper.

Lip Gloss -Rimmel - Shock Gloss - 3D Magnifying Lipgloss with Spatula Applicator
rated 3 of 5
MakeupMary3 3/15/2011 10:28:00 PM

I'm very torn on this product, I'm not exactly sure as to my overral opinion of it is, so I'll just tell you all the specs. Price: Super cheap, it's Rimmel around 5$ (CAD) However I was able to snatch it on sale for 2.99$ (CAD) Packaging: I Honestly think that the packaging is what bugs me the most. From the outside the bottom half is ok, some people might find the sliver writing tacky, but I'm fine with it. However the band right below the lid is a bit much. The lid, HOLY $H!T the lid, is just the cheapest looking peice of crap ever. The plastic hot pink with the rimmel insigna engraved on top makes it look like a part of a Barbie set. I know that Rimmel has that little crown that they put on the top of all their lip products, but it just looks really tacky on this one. (It looks nice on the lipsticks though.) Now opening the product is a messy task, the stopper in there is really bad, you get lots of excess product near the top of the wand, and WAAAY too much on the applicator, you have to wipe most of it off or you'll get a pound of product on your lips. Now that aside, the applicator is AWESOME! I love the cool, and bendy Spatula applicator, it makes for great smooth application. Plus it's the only reason why I have the packaging a 2 instead of a 1. Lip Gloss itself: Is very long lasting for lipgloss, and is suprisingly barely sticky. The pigmintation is good. (I got the shade: Amp'ed a very wearable berry colour pinkish and reddish.) I would probably re-purchase though, since it's cheap, and the product itself and applicator is pretty nice.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm
rated 5 of 5
MakeupMary3 3/7/2011 12:42:00 AM

It gives a nice minty, tingling sensation on the lips, you can practically feel it working. It's really moisturizing I could feel it working on my lips. I noticed a visible difference in my semi-dry/chapped lips within a few hours. The only downside to the product is that it's a bit pricey, however you pay for quality.

Loose Powders -Marcelle - Face Powder in Translucent
rated 5 of 5
MakeupMary3 2/22/2011 11:02:00 PM

This is a great powder! Since it's translucent it works for all skin tones. I've seen a noticeable difference in the wear of my foundation if I set it with this powder. It comes in a HUGE tub (2.4 oz), and it cost around 15$, which is really good considering other brands like L'Oreal ran for 11$ however it had MUCH less product. I put some foundation to cover my dark circles and I've noticed that the powder lightens up that area even more. My Covergirl Natureluxe liquid silk foundation lasts a while, however now it's unstoppable with this amazing loose powder. A little goes a long way! This tub will definitely last you a long time. My blush used to sort of vanish about halfway through the day, however with the powder it lasts the entire day!
