Blush -MAC - Sheertone Shimmer blush in Peachykeen
LizzieLiz 4/22/2010 10:23:00 AM
This is a beautiful peach blush! I think I like it a little better than my Coralista since it has a slightly deeper tone which means I need less product to get the look I want. I am wearing it today with golden eyes and Apricot lipgloss and it just completes the whole look. It is quite pigmented, especially for what is called a SheerTone. I usually go for these blushes since I am so heavy-handed with all makeup and especially blush, and I usually achieve the look I am going for but then layer on so much more than I need! I think Pink Swoon is a SheerTone blush as well, and I love it because it is hard to over-apply. The only blush I own where I don't have this problem is Well Dressed, and that's because it barely shows up on me it's so light (I'm NW 20 but it still doesn't show up that easily on me...). Anyway, it is far more pigmented than my NARS Orgasm, which I think it really compares to. It is slightly peachier than Orgasm, but on my face they pretty much look the same. And I get more product for the price and less shimmer. A staple in my makeup kit and I will continue to replace it as I run out.

Makeup Brushes -MAC - #187 Duo Fiber Face Brush (Stippling, Skunk Brush)
LizzieLiz 4/19/2010 10:46:00 PM
I love this brush. I use it for liquid foundation and really for any consistency of foundation it works! I use it with my NARS Sheer Glow and at the same time with my Estee Lauder Double Wear-which are pretty much completely opposite in their consistencies. It works amazingly with both. Only needs a small amount of product to get the job done and the finish is fantastic. I will continue to re-purchase, however I must say that MAC brushes are such high quality that I have yet to repurchase one. It takes a long time for them to wear out!

Fragrances -Elizabeth Arden - With Love by Hilary Duff
LizzieLiz 4/19/2010 10:30:00 PM
I really like this perfume. It has a lovely scent. It is very memorable...once you smell it you will always recognize it. Plus, it lasts long on skin, clothing and in hair. I used to wear this two or three years ago, always got compliments on it. Graduated to Juicy Couture but I think i will go back and repurchase a bottle of it since it really is a great scent for a decent price.

Lipstick -Rimmel - Moisture Renew Lipstick
LizzieLiz 4/17/2010 3:21:00 PM
I plan on buying more of these, as I only have one so far. I LOVE this formula! I think it is pretty comparable to MAC Lustre formula, but at about a third of the price (I have Precious Brown and it cost me $6 here in Canada). Doesn't dry out the lips and the frost isn't bad for a drugstore lipstick. The colour range is very good as well. I am very impressed!

Eyeliner -Estee Lauder - Estée Lauder 'Double Wear' Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil
LizzieLiz 4/17/2010 3:18:00 PM
This is a super eyeliner! I have it in bronze and am planning on buying all of the other colours. It lasts a long time, even in the waterline, and goes on so smoothly. You can use the little sponge-smudger at the end of the eyeliner or you can smudge with a brush, whichever you prefer. I use a brush but the smudger is pretty good. I love bronze, I can't tell you how beautiful it is. It really makes my brown eyes pop. I think it would look absolutely stunning on blue or green eyes as well.

Bronzers -Rimmel - Natural Bronzer- 21 Sun Light
LizzieLiz 4/16/2010 5:42:00 PM
Great matte bronzer. I usually use MAC Golden Refined but was looking for something a little more matte that could be used everywhere, like a powder. This does the trick fabulously! It is a very nice shade and isn't too orange like other drugstore bronzers I have tried. The packaging is super cheap, as I often find with Rimmel products. I don't think I could travel with this stuff. But there is a lot of product for $5.99 and sometimes I feel like half the price of the more expensive stuff is in the packaging! So I'm willing to sacrifice portability for price!

Lipstick -Rimmel - Moisture Renew - Precious Brown
LizzieLiz 4/16/2010 5:37:00 PM
This is a fabulous brownish nude with a slight shimmer. It feels very moisturizing and is very natural looking on my lips. Works well with warm light to medium skin tones. I am a HUGE fan of MAC Viva Glam V and Hug Me (both Lustre) and I feel like this is a very good in-between, combining the lustre/shimmer of Viva Glam V and the colour of Hug Me. Absolutely love this lipstick, and I paid 6$ for it (here in Canada)-can't go wrong with that price! Another great thing about it is there is no scent and the packaging is cute!

Lip Gloss -Milani - Glitzy Glamour Gloss Puttin on the glitz
LizzieLiz 4/15/2010 11:26:00 PM
I really like this colour! I honestly can't rave enough about it. It is a beautiful nude and very shiny, plus it lasts quite well and I think the packaging is great. I honestly think this will be a go-to summer lipgloss for me, I like to look very golden/glowy in the summer and this will work very well, especially with a tan. Neutral lips work with everything!

Liquid -NARS - Sheer Glow Foundation
LizzieLiz 4/14/2010 2:32:00 PM
I really like this foundation. It feels lovely on the skin, leaves a very nice glowy appearance. I am a fan of it mostly because it does not look like you are wearing a matte face mask, as I have found with Double Wear and Revlon ColorStay, another two of my foundations. Most people have commented that my face looks soft and natural when I wear this. I'm not 100% sure I have the right colour match, but it doesn't bother me (I am NW 20 and I wear Deauville in this foundation). I apply it with a brush or fingers, although I feel that application with my fingers does give a better result. The only complaint I have is that it seems to settle into my pores on my cheeks (I have sort of noticeable pores on my cheeks on either side of my nose, they are very minimally visible without makeup but seem to be much more noticeable with this foundation). A little extra primer there seems to help. The bottle is pretty irritating and there definitely should be a pump. It is also VERY expensive (here in Canada I'm pretty sure I paid $55 plus tax). However, I would re-purchase for sure. UPDATE: I went back to my Double Wear for a while but realized that every day I was getting one or two very small red spots or pimples. And then I realized that NARS Sheer Glow doesn't break me out in the slightest! My skin actually looks better after using this for a week straight. And I'm at that time of the month (sorry for TMI) when I normally have skin issues. Using a 187 brush also really gives a perfect application. I am in love with this foundation!

Lotions/ Creams -The Body Shop - Vitamin E Body Butter
LizzieLiz 4/13/2010 10:27:00 PM
I LOVE this body butter, it is absolutely amazing! The most hydrating body product I have ever used, without resorting to Vaseline (which is way too greasy to use all over). I have very dry skin on my body especially during the harsh Canadian winters (thank the sweet Lord this one is pretty much over) and I use this every night before I go to sleep. I apply it on hands, feet, arms, legs, elbows, anywhere I feel needs a bit of extra moisture, even lips! It is a little oily, but I use it only at night and sometimes for cuticles. The scent is my favourite as it is simple and not over the top. This is a wonderful product which I will continue to purchase it over and over.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in High Tea
LizzieLiz 4/12/2010 3:38:00 PM
This is a great neutral shade for anyone! I used to wear this every day in the summer, especially at work. It was perfect especially because I tend not to wear any foundation in the summer, just a light amount of bronzer and blush. This was a good addition since it didn't look like I was wearing heavy lipstick. I would always have people commenting on how my lips looked shimmery. It is a lustre formula so not very pigmented, but I would say that if you like something that lasts a little longer than a lipgloss but is still slightly shiny/moisturising, this is it. I originally got this in a Back 2 MAC and then re-purchased it after that. I will probably get a new one for this summer as well!

Lipstick -MAC - Amplified Creme - Chatterbox
LizzieLiz 4/12/2010 2:30:00 PM
I absolutely love this colour, it is TO DIE for! I usually don't wear it during the day but I have worn it at night out to clubs and I get tons of compliments on it. I do rock a red lip quite often, but this is a nice change. I especially like it with an all-black outfit and cat eyes or at least very neutral eyes. I wore it out to a "hipster" bar the other day and definitely felt like it fit in with that atmostphere. Anyway, I would say that all skin tones should try this colour, it is gorgeous! The formula is also extremely creamy and moisturizing. I would repurchase this for sure, I have used mine so much since I bought it.

Makeup Brushes -Coastal Scents - Italian Badger 119 Deluxe Crease Brush
LizzieLiz 4/12/2010 2:02:00 PM
I love this crease brush! It is the perfect medium between stiff and flexible, and I use it every day. The quality is exceptional for the price, and I have washed it over 10 times. No shedding at all, no bleeding of dyes, and I think it looks very high-quality. I really like the wooden handle. I highly recommend this brush. I find myself reaching for it over my MAC and Sigma brushes daily.

Blush -Coastal Scents - Contour & Blush Palette
LizzieLiz 4/12/2010 1:59:00 PM
This is a good product for the price. I thought I was going to get away with only spending a very small amount on these items, so I wouldn't mind that the quality was not amazing. But I was wrong! Despite the price being so reasonable, I feel that for this particular product it is almost too much. The consistency of all the powders/blushes were way too chalky and powdery for my taste and the contouring shade is just ridiculously dark for me (even if I applied with a VERY light hand, it just looked dirty). I'll stick to my MAC Harmony for contouring and the hundreds of other blushes I have! ha ha

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Blast
LizzieLiz 4/12/2010 9:41:00 AM
I really like this mascara. I think it's a good product for the price. I'm generally not that picky about mascara, but I have found this one the easiest to work with compared with others I've tried, especially in a rush (which I ALWAYS am haha). The only reason I gave this 4 stars and not 5 is that personally, I'm not crazy about the packaging. First of all, it's ugly (bright orange and a weird shape) and second of all, the shape actually makes it hard to get a good seal, which I think leads to the product drying out faster.
