Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Painted Purple

I get why many of the reviews for this product are negative, the color comes off as a lighter purple than it looks in the pan,and the color is not as buildable as most of the other color tattoos. But, I still love this color. This shade of purple looks awesome with my dark brown eyes, I like to put this on as a lid color and then line my eye with black or brown liner. It looks really good and it stays forever. I've gotten many complements on it in the few times I've worn it over the last couple weeks.

Blush -E.L.F. - Shimmering Facial Whip in Pink Lemonade

This is an amazing little product, and such a steal for 1$. My favorite thing about this is how buildable it is, you can get the faintest tint of color and sheen or you can make it darker and more shimmery easily. The color is a very natural light pink flush, exactly what I'm looking for. It's also dries very quickly, not greasy at all. I think this is going to end up replacing high beam or boots no. 7 illuminating lotion as my highlighter of choice.

Eye Shadow -Maybelline - Color Tattoo 24hr Cream Gel Shadow in Audacious Asphalt

I think this is a fabulous smokey gray eye shadow. The color is nothing new, a basic dark gray with light sparkles mixed in, but it lasts forever, and looks great all day. How many drugstore eye shadows can you say that about? Not many in my experience, getting eye makeup to stay is a huge issue for me. No eye shadow primer is needed with this, once you put it on it's there to stay. At under 6$ a pot this is well worth the money, and I don't think I'm going to need to repurchase for quite a while, as a little goes a long way. I can tell this will definitely become a staple makeup item for me. Now I want them to add more colors to this line, a basic black and a deep brown would be nice, as well as some lighter colors.

I bought a couple of these a week ago and plan on going back to Target for more colors tomorrow. They're really wonderful, I can't wait until they expand the color line a bit. These last a very long day, you can put it on heavy and opaque quickly but it can also be smudged out for a lighter look (must do this quickly as once it dries its there to stay). It lasts the full work day, minimal to no creasing, and no smudging once it dries. You can't beat the price eather, under 6$ a pot at Target, and I imagine the pot will last for a very long time. I really can't wait to get my hand on more of these, and hope they soon expand the color choices.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Hypnotic Poison Eau Sensuelle
rated 4 of 5
LizWords 9/24/2012 9:00:00 PM

I have an intense dislike of the original hypnotic poison, so when I ordered a large decant of the eau sensuelle flanker, I wasn't expecting much. Boy was I pleasantly surprised when within the second day of testing this I found myself completely in love with it. Like its namesake this perfume is built around a rich, deep vanilla. But unlike the original HP, this vanilla is not so sweet and gourmand, it is creamier, balanced nicely by sandalwood, musk and something woody. There is no licorice or root beer notes. Instead you get a medley of florals, orchid and tuberose and jasmine that deepens the complexity and sexiness of the vanilla. It's really just gorgeous.

Pressed Powders -Hard Candy - Welcome Matte Mattifying Powder
rated 5 of 5
LizWords 9/18/2012 5:44:00 PM

This product is great and affordable to boot. I wore it today for the first time, it's been raining hard all day and its so humid that even my carpets are damp, and this worked very well today. I touched up after about 4 hours (this is much improved, usually I have to deal with shine 1/2 hour after i put my makeup on) and it's still looking good 3 hours after the first touch up. I don't like skin primers, for one I can't really find one that controls shine, and worst, I feel like they break me out, so a mattifying powder is really the best way for me to set my makeup and make it stay and keep the shines away. The moon glow powder also works for this purpose but has a bit of a sheen to it, the mattifying powder does not, it is perfectly matte in every way. I will definitely be repurchasing this!

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Midnight Pomegranate All Items
rated 4 of 5
LizWords 9/17/2012 11:12:00 PM

Now that fall is in the air I've broken out my midnight pomegranate EDT. I really don't wear BBW much anymore with the exception of this edt and japanese cherry blossom edt. This scent is one of their best scents ever IMHO, it reminds me a bit of CK Euphoria but has much more pomegranate sweetness to it. I love the contrast of the sweetness with the musk and vanilla and patchouli and cinnamon. It is cool weather appropriate for me, I prefer it in the fall as it reminds me a bit of cider. The EDT has very respectable lasting power, but the body splash is gone within an hour.

Fragrances -Thierry Mugler - Angel
rated 5 of 5
LizWords 9/16/2012 11:44:00 PM

What a strange love affair I have with this perfume. I agree with many reviewers, this is a very polarizing scent, and I've been on both ends of the spectrum, having hated and loved this perfume. I purchased several samples a couple years ago when I started really getting into perfumes and initially did not like it all. While I could always appreciate the complexity and depth, I just didn't think it was me, and the inital blast of patchouli annoyed me. I have since pulled the samples out every couple of months or so and given them many additional tries. Over the last year or so I began actually liking it more and more to the point where I had used up all the samples and had to decide whether or not I liked this enough for a full size bottle. Well, I am now at the point with this perfume that I absolutely love it. I find myself craving it, especially now that the weather is cooler. I absolutely adore snuggling into bed with this scent floating all around me, it is so comforting and yummy yet deep and musky and sensuous. How much I love this perfume now is mind boggling to me, if you would have asked me a year ago if I would be wearing this scent regularly I would have said "hell no!" and made an icky face. I've recently started playing with the Angel flankers and am having a wonderful time with that as well. Some of the flankers are quite different, yet you can tell they're in the same family, but there's nothing like the original!

Masks -Unlisted Brand - Aspirin Mask
rated 5 of 5
LizWords 9/16/2012 12:42:00 PM

This is an awesome basic homemade mask that is cheap and easy yet very effective. I usually don't do just aspirin or aspirin and honey, I usually mix the aspirin with some clay and some honey and water, I find it stays better this way and I get the benefits of the clay too. I buy the BC powder aspirin with caffeine and I love it. It can be somewhat hard to find in stores but ebay has it very cheap. The added caffeine is good for collagen production and skin brightening and the fact that it's already in powder form saves me a tone of time and aggravation. Since aspirin applied to skin basically acts like salicylic acid, you do need to be careful with how often you use it and how long you leave it on. I personally only use it once or twice a month at most.

Fragrances -Coty - Black Musk for Women
rated 3 of 5
LizWords 9/16/2012 9:48:00 AM

I like many of the Coty musks but this has to be my least favorite. I'm not a huge fruity person, and this one has very strong fruit notes. I can see why some people love this musk, but it's just not for me. There is some musk, vanilla and floral in this as well, but the fruitiness is definitely the strongest and dominates over all the other notes. I really don't understand the name, it is not very "black" smelling to me, I imagined it would be a deeper darker musk but it is not.

Brows -Maybelline - Expert Eyes Twin Brow & Eye Pencils
rated 4 of 5
LizWords 9/16/2012 9:31:00 AM

I've been using these brow pencils for years. The blonde works wonderfully for me in the summer as it is not a true blonde but more of a dirty blonde or light brown with blonde undertones and it matches the blonde in my brows that the sun brings out. I also have the light brown which I use primarily in the winter when I'm not getting much sun exposure and my brows are darker. The color is buildable and very natural looking on me, I've tried gel brow liners and it comes off too dark and looks fake, so being able to control the level of pigment is key for me. I think these are very long lasting as well, I have no problems with them staying put through the work day. You get 2 for about $5 so it is extremely affordable.

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Foxy matte eyeshadow
rated 5 of 5
LizWords 9/16/2012 2:51:00 AM

I am so surprised by the negative reviews for this product. This is one of my favorite finds from buying the naked2 palette. It is the perfect brow color for me, I love the subtle matte sheen, it's gorgeous. Its kind of off white yellow sheer shade contrasts with my dark eyes nicely. I like to use Mac's painterly underneath and it makes this color intensify. I also use a pink paint pot underneath it (girl friendly) and it comes out as the light pastel pink with the gorgeous whitish sheen. I think this color is very basic, and I can see how it may be too light to show up on some people, or if they wanted more pigment, as this is quite sheer. But these are the reasons I personally love it. I will definitely be repurchasing in an individual pan once the bit in the palette runs out.

Eye Shadow -Lumiere - Golden Plum Eye Pigment
rated 5 of 5
LizWords 9/15/2012 11:29:00 PM

This is such a beautiful color, a medium plum purple with a golden sheen, GORGEOUS. I have been purchasing this eye shadow from Lumiere since back in the day when they were originally Must Have Minerals. It lasts a very long time if you prime your eye first (and it has moderate lasting power if you don't), you don't have to use very much to get a darker purple, and it is buildable so you can achieve various ranges of pigment. Best of all it is so affordable, 8$ for 2gms and $5 for 1gm. I try to pick up a new 1gm eye shadow every time I order my regular mineral foundation from Lumiere. I really love their shadows, and this shade is one of their best for me!

Fragrances -Chanel - Cuir de Russie
rated 2 of 5
LizWords 9/15/2012 10:51:00 PM

I got a large decant of this from TPC and have waited a year to review it, I've worn it maybe a dozen of times and sprayed it in the air a bit as well. I just can't bring myself to like it. I agree with many reviewers below that get a "dirty" sense from it, and unfortunately it's not a pleasant dirty to me. Cerulfox's review below points out the animalic style, I agree with that as well. I think the leather and tobacco in this might be the culprit, though I love those notes in other perfumes, I think they're either too strong or are playing off some other notes in a bad way. I will definitely not be purchasing a full size of this.

Fragrances -Bath and Body Works - Japanese Cherry Blossom EDT
rated 4 of 5
LizWords 9/15/2012 5:09:00 PM

This is one of the 3 or 4 bath and body works scents that I love. Usually lasting power is my main grip about BBW scents, but this this EDT it has decent longevity, especially if I spray it on my clothes. As for the scent, this is an interesting and complex fragrance, I smell some sweet fruit at the beginning, pear maybe? I also get a woody, sensuous base from this, cedar and sandalwood and amber. And of course the florals, cherry blossom and a bit of rose and some other florals I don't recognize. Beautiful and unique.
