Wow! I'm so glad I stumbled across this review! I'm 39, and for me also it has brought back so many memories! As some reviewers had said, Body On Tap shampoo, Members Only jackets, Jordache jeans and I have some also...Lemon-Up shampoo, Gee Your Hair Smells Terrific!, parachute pants (I don't care what anyone says, I thought they were cool!) and on and on. (I'm still a closet "stuck in the eighties" person, lol.) I have a funny story...when my husband and I were still just dating, I had used some of the baby soft body splash...when we went out that night, he said "what are you wearing? It smells so good!" I laughed so hard, since it was such a "simple" scent! I've been thinking of what I can wear as a casual fragrance to work so I don't smell over-powering and I think I'll go out and buy some more of this! I usually wear Opium which is quite strong and not the greatest for the work place. Thanks to everyone for the walk down memory lane! :)

Styling Products -Sunsilk - Anti-Flat
rated 2 of 5

I'm with Jenni on this one. When I first bought it, it seemed to really to do what it claimed - add volume. After awhile though, it just didn't seem to work as well as it did at first. I use a clarifying shampoo somewhat regularly, so I know it's not build-up. I am still using it though...I mix just a small squirt with a small squirt of "Thicken Up" serum. I will probably keep doing that, but when I run out of the Anti-flat I think I will just move on to another product.

Moisturizers -Garnier - Nutritioniste Skin Renew daily regenerating moisture lotion
rated 5 of 5
Lisa1969 9/2/2008 12:30:00 PM

This review is for the cream without SPF - I had been using the lotion in the pump for quite awhile. I liked it, however I bounce back and forth with moisturizers depending on weather, etc. Lately, my skin has become quite dry and I've been searching and searching for something that will moisturize, yet not sit on top of my skin feeling all heavy and greasy. Well, this delivered! I'm ready to throw all of my other moisturizers away and have this as my HG, one 'an only! I liked the lotion, however the cream seems to just melt into my skin leaving it looking matte yet still very soft. Also, my foundation looks fantastic over this as well. I just can't say enough about this product. I'm so glad I found it!

Liquid -Cover Girl - TruBlend
rated 5 of 5
Lisa1969 9/2/2008 12:08:00 PM

Wow! I bought this product a few months ago on a whim, (used it once or twice) however I normally use Dan Read Silver Screen series, however I have found as my skin is "maturing" it is getting quite a bit much more on the dry side. Being that the Dan Read is a hard cream that MUST be put on with a sponge, yesterday I decided to give the Tru-blend a whirl again, being that it is liquid. I have recently just changed moisturizers, which is also a huge help, but I couldn't believe how great my skin looked with just a small amount of this! I normally like a lot of coverage (People always tell me I don't need it, but that's what I got used to over the years). So to my surprise, I loved the way it made my skin look like I wasn't wearing anything, yet gave me a pretty much flawless look. It felt great too..like I wasn't wearing anything. I, like another reviewer had said, use a little bit of a finishing powder just to "set" my make-up. I was also amazed after cleaning out the inside of my car (it was very hot & humid here yesterday), when I came in the house I couldn't believe how my make-up looked! I had a "dewy" look, even after sweating - not at all "greasy" like most make-ups end up looking. Whew! So after all of that, I will definitely be buying this again, and saving a whole lot of money since my previous HG is $32.00, not including shipping! At the price, I would definately say give it a try! :)

Shampoo -SAMY - Volume Shampoo
rated 4 of 5
Lisa1969 8/1/2008 10:13:00 AM

I have been using this product off and on. In general, I really like it. It rinses out sooo easily, which I like and most of the time it gives my hair a lot of volume and managability. However, at the moment I am not liking it. I think it's because we've been having such humidity here. I seem to LOVE it when the weather is a bit cooler and much less humid. The other thing I'm not that happy about is it just doesn't seem to last very long. My hair is only medium length (right at my shoulders) but I seem to be buying a new bottle about every 2 weeks or so. Other than those 2 things, overall I do really like this shampoo (I don't really care for the conditioner). The packaging is good IMO. As far as scent, I'm not in love with it, but it doesn't bother me either. All and all, I think a good product for the money and will repurchase!

Liquid -Almay - Smart Shade Makeup SPF 15
rated 2 of 5
Lisa1969 8/1/2008 9:42:00 AM

I was very disappointed with this product. I agree with the other reviews - if you would like a primer, tinted moisturizer, etc., then it is fine. I tend to like a whole lot more coverage than this provides, so definitely not for me! I wasn't very thrilled with the "matching" as well. My skin is what I would say light to medium/light (somewhere in between!) I just remember looking in the mirror after I put it on and thinking, something just does not look right....so, I just put a different foundation over it and threw it away. I'm sure it may work for some, but I think I'll skip it!

Tools -Gillette - Fusion Razor
rated 5 of 5
Lisa1969 7/31/2008 4:50:00 PM

I have to agree with other reviews...I have been using men's razors for years. I even use fragrance free men's shaving gel! They just seem to give a better, closer shave. My husband and I received a free Fusion in the mail about a year ago. We both used it for weeks on the same blade! When I first saw the commercials, I was very skeptical, being that almost every advertisement out there is basically extremely over exaggerated and I seem to always get let down when I buy something I saw on TV - but this razor really, really works! The replacement cartridges are quite pricey, however they last so long I don't mind paying extra for the great job it does. I'm just amazed with this razor. This is mine and my husband's HG!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Colossal
rated 5 of 5
Lisa1969 7/31/2008 12:58:00 PM

I too, really love this product! It does have a strong odor at first...it smells "flowery", somewhat like "flo-nase"..however, I love it! Quite simply, even though the brush is quite large, it does a wonderful job of making lashes look nice, full and no clumping! It cleans off very easily as well. The only problem I had with the packaging is the seal at the base has come loose a couple of times giving me a mess of a blob of mascara, however putting it back in, closing and re-opening it has fixed that. Other than that, I highly recommend! :)

Mascara -L'Oreal - HIP High Drama Volumizing Mascara
rated 5 of 5
Lisa1969 7/22/2008 4:06:00 PM

Okay...I'll be straight forward. I like full out, dramatic lashes, but I don't like clumps. I really like this product. I did not have a clumping problem, however whenever I get new mascara, for the first 3-5 days, I always use a tissue to gently swipe the excess off - there is always way too much product when it's new. I rarely have HG products - I'm always trying new things, but I definitely would buy this product again! I bought this in black and found it to be dramatic enough for me without looking fake and made up. It has lasted a long time also!

Styling Products -Got 2 Be - Curl-Vacious curled-up spray
rated 3 of 5
Lisa1969 7/10/2008 5:12:00 PM

I have fine, somewhat naturally wavy hair. I first used this product a couple of years ago while in Hawaii. I bought it because of the humidity there, and I wanted something that would enhance my natural waves. I have a love/hate relationship with this product. I have to say, it definitely does help to define and bring out my waves, but the down side is that as mentioned by a few other people, it makes my hair look and feel a slight bit "crunchy" and brought out some static. (I used very little product and still had the problem. ) So, overall, it's not bad - I've been considering buying it again, but it is not one of my HG products.

Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Paul Mitchell -Extra Body Sculpting Foam
rated 5 of 5
Lisa1969 7/1/2008 4:39:00 PM

I have been using this mousse now for oh, about 20 years now, (regular & extra body) and after experimenting with some products that got rave reviews here i.e. Got2B voluptuous volume, etc....I'm going back to it and never looking back! I've realized this is definitely my HG mousse. I noticed that someone had mentioned it weighed their hair down too much and they thought it may because they used to much. I have found with fine hair, moderation is key to getting good volume. I've accidentally used to much and my hair was "blah" all day. A little goes a long way! I do wish it added just a touch more volume than it does, but combined with the right shampoo & conditioner, I find my hair looks pretty good with this mousse. Years ago, a stylist asked what kind of product I used on my hair..when I told her, she told me it has good conditioners in it, and I should always use it. I should have listened, I would have saved a lot of money! The only other downfall I have is I wish it was a bit less expensive, however 1 can lasts me a very long time, so I guess it equals out. Sorry about the "pontification"...so, in conclusion, I highly recommend! :)

Shampoo -Desert Essence - Organics Green Apple & Ginger Thickening & Volumizing Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
Lisa1969 4/30/2008 5:10:00 PM

I have been using "natural" shampoos and conditioners for a few months now, so when I bought this product my hair had already gone through it's "adjustment" period. I have to say, overall I am very pleased with both the shampoo and its matching conditioner. My hair has a lot of body, volume, etc. I am a bit on the "frugal" side, so, I think it would be great if it were a little more inexpensive, but I would definately buy this again! I only have 1 small issue with the packaging - I don't like the opening on the bottom of the tube - I like it when they are on the top, but just a matter of preference. All and all, I love this product! EDIT: About 2 months ago, I colored my hair with ion color, and it damaged the daylights out of my hair. After a pro highlight/lowlight, my hair was still extremely hard to comb out after washing it, was somewhat damaged and very, very dry. I decided to go back to this after trying everything, and my hair looks great again, after ONE use! It feels soft, is bouncy and is even shiny. I don't know why I stopped using this for awhile, but I'm definately not changing again!

Shampoo -Suave - Tropical Coconut Shampoo
rated 5 of 5
Lisa1969 3/14/2008 12:08:00 PM

This shampoo is wonderful! I have fine hair, yet a lot of it. As many others on the board, I have used all sorts of different brands from expensive to cheap and this by far is the best! I have no artificial color in my hair at the moment, so a lot of shampoos & conditioners leave my hair too soft and flat or just "blah". This wonderful shampoo just leaves it, well, perfect! I love the fact that it lathers fantastic, smells great and rinses out quickly and completely. I also use the matching conditioner, which I also love. Initially, it feels like it may not rinse out good, but all of the sudden, you can feel your hair just squeaky clean! I will probably be getting a highlight/lowlight soon, however I will still continue to use these 2 products. Since I haven't had a problem with dryness from them in the horrible winter months, I'm sure it will still moisturize well! I highly recommend this product.

Powder -Maybelline - Mineral Power Powder Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Lisa1969 2/29/2008 11:06:00 AM

I got on the mineral make-up bandwagon about 2 months ago. I have tried a couple of d/s brands that weren't too bad, yet didn't stand out either. I had also tried out Philosophy's Supernatural at Macy's and really wanted that. I have to say after finally purchasing the Supernatural, I am very surprised that Maybelline's foundation covers pretty much just as well! (IMO, it wears just as well also.) The Maybelline actually matches my skin tone better also. I have been mixing the 2 when applying. I haven't purchased a "good" brush yet, but with the d/s brand MMU I've purchased, I have to say that Maybelline's brush is by far the best. It's a little on the rough side, but I'd rather have that than too soft - then it wouldn't blend at all. I have found the packaging to be fine; easy to use, large enough to get the brush in and tap off loose powder, etc. I would purchase this again.

Gels/Soaps -Unlisted Brand - Mountain Ocean Skin Trip Coconut Lotion
rated 5 of 5
Lisa1969 2/29/2008 10:25:00 AM

This is my HG soap! I also use and have reviewed the lotion as well. The soap has a nice light coconut scent, lathers great and rinses very easily and very clean! I have a tendency to be a little sensitive in "some areas" with soaps, however no problems with this one at all. I use the soap, then the moisturizer and I'm good to go! The soap is a tiny bit on the pricey side in comparison to regular soap, but I would rather pay a bit more for this than ever use "soap" on my body again! As with the lotion, I highly, highly recommend!
