Misc Beauty Tools -Unlisted Brand - Schick Intuition razor

I don't understand the negative reviews if this at all. It's been my go-to razor for years now. It is a little more expensive than some, but you don't need any shave cam or foam. I've never had a problem getting a close shave, and I don't press hard or anything. I just run it lightly up my legs against the hair growth. GOOD: Close shave, easy, super convienent, fits well in my hand, has never irritated my skin BAD: Slightly pricey, if you don't store it right the bar around the razor will go gross and kinda fall apart.

Cleansers -Clean & Clear - Self Foaming Facial Wash
rated 5 of 5

I don't know why this has such bad reviews, I'm a massive fan. This is my go to cheap drugstore cleanser. You do have to moisturise after, but that's standard. The GOOD: Dirt cheap! I think it is like $6 here, and it lasts ages. I love how it is self foaming. It doesn't feel harsh at all on my sensitive skin, but i feel like it gets rid of the oil. You don't have to scrub or rub, I just use 2 pumps and glide my hands over my face then splash it off with water. The packaging is excellent The BAD: Not that great at taking of makeup. If I'm wearing a lot I have to either double cleanse or take of the makeup then cleanse. I love this and buy it all the time

Powder -Estee Lauder - Double Wear Stay-in-Place Powder Makeup
rated 3 of 5

I've been using this for a few weeks, and like it quite a lot. The GOOD: This has a nice texture, and the colour is an excellent match for my skin. It works well applied with the sponge for midday touch ups and wears really well - I don't get super greasy, it just seems to kinda melt into my skin in a good way. The BAD: Super expensive. The packaging is way too big for how much product there is, as wells being flimsy, mine broke after two weeks and I had to return it. It's not as full coverage as I was expecting. Doesn't really work as a foundation on its own. I put yes for rebuy because I probably will - but only on sale or at gift time!

Mascara -Maybelline - Great Lash Mascara
rated 2 of 5
LadyxBec 5/17/2012 10:22:00 PM

This is just kind of average for me? Not terrible, but nothing to write home about either. I have it in brownish-black The Good: Dirt cheap! I got this in Australia for $12 which is an amazing deal for mascara. It doesn't irritate my eyes or anything like that. My lashes are long and curly naturally, so I only need something to darken and thicken them. This does a nice job of coating them. I do like the smallish brush. The Bad: This tends to clump on me, not terribly, but enough that it's annoying. It doesn't do a very good job of thickening, and no matter what I do I always make a mess trying to apply it - which makes no sense as that never happens with other mascaras which have similar brushes. While the formula doesn't smuge or flake on me, it is harder to remove than I would like. I got this because I wanted a cheap brown mascara for more casual looks, but brownish-black is darker than I was looking for, and even though it is dirt cheap I wouldn't rebuy due to the cluming etc. - I will probably just end up going for my HG (chanel inimitable intense) in brown for the weekend instead. It's not terrible, but it's in no way good either. I keep it in my bag for touch-ups, but would not rebuy when it runs out.

Mascara -Chanel - Inimitable Mascara Multi-Dimensionnel
rated 5 of 5
LadyxBec 5/17/2012 10:11:00 PM

I like this a lot. The GOOD: This can be worn so many ways - one coat is more natural and gives me lovely soft lashes, but it is very build-able, without being clumpy and can give me stunning false-looking lashed with 3-4 coats. It stays all day (regular version, not waterproof) and comes off with no problems at night. I also really like the brush, it give great seperation and coverage. The formula is a really nice, and goes on really well. I like the brush, it's small enough to get into the corners of my eyes, and gives really good seperation. The BAD: I'm not gonna lie, this is expensive. But for me it's worth it :) I prefer Inimitable intense, because I find the colour a little richer and nicer, but this is still lovely. I would re-buy if I couldn't get intense, but they are so similar I wouldn't have both at once.

Mascara -Chanel - Mascara Exceptionnel
rated 4 of 5
LadyxBec 5/17/2012 10:09:00 PM

Before Inimitable this was my go-to mascara. The GOOD: As with all Chanel mascaras the formula is lovely, not too thin, not goopy and a nice rich black. My lashes are long and curly naturally, but blonde and this does a good job of coating every one. The brush is interesting - I don't mind it, but I prefer the Inimitable one. I do like how it is small - I hate bigh brushes as I always find them really messy. It comes off easily, but does not flake or smudge on my eyes. The BAD: This is expensive, and I find the brush wears out faster then most - especially if I use a tissue to wipe of excess. Overall, I would buy again, but not as my regular mascara.

Mascara -Chanel - Inimitable Intense Mascara
rated 5 of 5
LadyxBec 5/17/2012 10:05:00 PM

I LOVE this. It is by fare the best mascara I've used, and enough to make me give up the others. I also really like the brush, it give great seperation and coverage, and is small enough for my lower lashes and the corners of my eyes. The formula is a really nice, deep black, not too glossy but not dull and matte either. I find that a tube lasts a long time - I replace about every 3 months because I am worried about bacteria, but it's never unuseable or empty at that point. I think it could last longer, maybe 5-6 months. The BAD: I'm not gonna lie, this is expensive. But for me it's worth it :) I would re-buy!

Lips -Revlon - Just Bitten Lipstain + Balm
rated 4 of 5
LadyxBec 5/17/2012 9:48:00 PM

I have this in passion (there is a review under the colour listing as well)There were things I liked about this, but not enough to make up for the negatives. I had an older version of just bitten, maybe 4-5 years ago which I liked a LOT more, the tube contained a lot more product and there was no waste of space balm. The Good: This lasts really well, and I love the colour. On me, it's a fairly bright pink, which can be layered to be really really bright, or with one coat it's a slightly more natural, but still bright colour. It lasts really well - I easily get 4 hours out of it, even with eating and drinking. The packaging is a good idea, but the execution is terrible. It's not overdrying. The balm is fine. You can use other balms and gosses over the top without effecting the staying power which is good. The Bad: This is so overpriced! In Australia Revlon is way to expensive. I'm not sure how much product you get, but going by the size of the tube it is not enough. The tube is not very secure - it doesn't close tightly enough for me, and the balm just sticks out at the end, which meant mine broke after two days and I had to try and stick it back together. I wish they sold the balm seperately, because it's just meh for me. *EDIT* I have re-rated this at 4 stars, as it has a lot more product than I thought from the tube, making it way better value for money than I thought. I will re-buy when mine runds out, although I am still not a fan of the design.

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant
rated 2 of 5
LadyxBec 5/17/2012 9:40:00 PM

I got a sample of this along with the other PC BHA products The Good: It did work as advertised, my skin was softer, smoother and had less blemishes. The Bad: It is so messy! The liquid is hard to work with, similar to toner in consistancy, but I found I had to use a lot for all over coverage. I also needed to use a cotten pad with it, which wastes product and pads. I think it is too expensive, and not good value because of how much I had to use. I would not rebuy, because I much prefer the lotion version, or failing that the gel.

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Lotion Exfoliant
rated 5 of 5
LadyxBec 5/17/2012 9:37:00 PM

I got a sample of this, along with the other formulas of PC BHA. This was by far the best for me, and is a new HG product :D The Good: I like that this is a moisuturiser and BHA, because it saves me having to use both and try and layer them. While my skin is oily, it is dry and sensitive underneath the oil (if that makes sense). I also liked how this was gentle but very effective - I had no redness of peeling, but my skin was noticeably smoother and softer. I also think I had less breakouts while I was using this, and those I did have went away faster. I also like how easy this is to use compared to the gel and liquid versions The Bad: It is a little pricy, but you only need a little bit. It does have a strange texture, and it took a little work to rub in and absorb. Overall, I would buy this again, it's a HG for me.

Treatments -Paula's Choice - Skin Perfecting 2% BHA Gel Exfoliant
rated 3 of 5
LadyxBec 5/17/2012 9:31:00 PM

I got a sample of this, along with all of the other PC BHA products to trial. The Good: This worked well - it made my skin feel a lot smoother, and got rid of blackheads. I also think I had less breakouts using it, and it didn't irritate or cause redness. The Bad: Sticky! I found this product really sticky, it took forever to dry, and it was really hard to moisturise over. Plus my hair kept sticking to it, which was very annoying. It's a little pricey, but not too bad. Overall I would not rebuy, because I much prefered the lotion formula. If they discountinued that, I might try this one again.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - Fruity Shine
rated 5 of 5
LadyxBec 12/21/2011 7:40:00 PM

I wrote a seperate review for the pink guava flavour, this one is for the strawberry. This is my ultimate everyday lip gloss, I'm on about my 10th tube - LOVE IT. The GOOD: lovely colour, smells good, nice shine and shimmer without being glittery or sparkly, smooths and softens. Plus it's super cheap and lasts ages. The BAD: none, although if you are looking for something to really moisturise this is probably not for you. But for day to day shine and a little moisture this is perfect.

Lip Treatments -Nivea - Nivea Fruity Shine in Pink Guava
rated 5 of 5
LadyxBec 12/21/2011 7:36:00 PM

I LOVE this! The GOOD: pleasingly shiny and shimmery without being to OOT, sparkly or glitter, light flush of colour, nice scent, cheap, sturdy wind-up, smooths and softens lips. The BAD: not as pink looking as the outside of the tube looks, not suitable for super-dry lips (but also not designed for that).

Primer/ Corrector -Smashbox - Photo Finish Light
rated 4 of 5
LadyxBec 12/18/2011 6:25:00 PM

I quite like this - I have tried maybe 3-4 other primers, and this is by far my favourite so far. I did find at first that it did nothing for me, however a little trial and error and I worked out how to apply it correctly and we get along much better :) The GOOD: leaves my skin feeling lovely and matt, doesn't break me out, the packaging is great, lasts a long time. It does prolong the life of my foundation, and make it go on more smoothly and easily. The BAD: difficult to find & super expensive in Australia :(. Doesn't control oil as well as I'd like - by lunchtime my T-zone is oily and shiny. Overall I would re-buy, as it's the best I've tried so far, but I am also looking around for something that better controls oil thoughout the day.
