Misc Beauty Tools -Rembrandt - Advanced Whitening Strips
rated 4 of 5

I am addicted to tooth whitening products and a sucker for cute packaging. Enter Rembrandt Advanced Whitestrips....you had me at hello. I had been really looking forward to trying all the new Rembrandt products out now, as I have had some current issues with my crest whitestrips routine. I had very high hopes for these, and they really did come through. Rembrandt claims they are "gentle and less irritating," which I definitely agree with after using the whole box. These have a great minty flavor that is so much better than the taste of peroxide. Gee, who could imagine- what a great idea. You only have to wear them 10 days for a half an hour a day. I found this to be no problem. They are much thicker than the crest whitestrips and look like a athletes mouthguard. However, they stay on wonderfully, and I did notice a difference rather quickly. I bought these while they were on sale at CVS, but now that I have had the oppertunity to try them, I know I would pay full price if necessary. It even had a coupon inside for a free toothpaste from their new line, this really had me smiling. One last thing- don't even try to talk while you are wearing these, I attempted to leave a voicemail for someone, only to sound as though I had an extreme lisp in my voice, this caused my to laugh hysterically. Not good. (consider this 30 minutes your quiet time) Great product though!!!

Palettes -Too Faced - The Quickie Chronicles - The Beach Bunny
rated 4 of 5
Kristie96 5/21/2007 12:26:00 PM

I couldn't wait to try this supercute palette. The colors are great, especially the lip glosses. The bronzer is nice too, it doesn't add too much color, just a hint, with a nice shimmer. The eyeshadows kind of surprised me with this one. From pictures online, I thought the darkest of the three, the bronze shade, would be more bronzey and pigamented. It was actually light, with a reddish tone to it, as some of the other reviewers have mentioned. Even though I was initally dissapointed, I have grown to like this palette a lot. It takes me out of my realm of what I am comfortable with my usual routine (I usually wear the same dark brown/bronze shades for eyes all the time) I wear it with a black retro looking liner, or more dramatic looking mascara for something different. This is one of the things I have found I like most about these palettes in general. They force me to use new colors together that I never thought I could wear before. Thanks too faced!!

Palettes -Too Faced - Quickie Chronicles - The Summer Lover
rated 4 of 5
Kristie96 5/21/2007 11:39:00 AM

Hmmm.... I see that I am definetely in the minority by saying that I am enjoying this palette. I received this from a swapper, it was my first Too Faced Quickie Chronicle at the time. I have since become inspired to collect these cute little palettes with their saucey stories on the back. This is also called the "sun-drenched berry palette." The eyeshadows are very prettly blendable purple based shades. I especially like the darkest of the three, it is a great shade to create a smokey eye. The blush is more of a bronzer to me, a peachy brown, but I like it. And yes, the glosses aren't all the most wearable, but the pink and the purple are great, I find them moisturizing and the smell isn't oh so bad. Altogether, I like this, wish it had a mirror, and don't use the applicators included, but I really think it is worth it for what you get. Will surely be getting more too faced palettes, especially since this is the one with the worst review and I actually liked it!

Self Tanners -Clarins - Intense Bronze Self Tanning Tint
rated 5 of 5
Kristie96 5/21/2007 10:06:00 AM

I am loving this self tanner right now!! I have tried so many different self tanners for the face and this one definitely is at the top of the list. It is an odd formulation, like dark brown water, that is to be applied with a cotton pad. A little scary at first, but the results are awesome! You get a natural dark brown glow that is not smelly or greasy and has good lasting power. For me, I found more success using a makeup sponge and wearing my latex gloves when appying this. The makeup sponge seemed to absorb a lot less self tanner than the cotton pad (and no one wants to waste a $35 product) and the gloves dont allow it to accidentally get on my fingers- because seriously, this stuff is not coming off your fingertips once it's on. You better have some st. tropez self tanner remover, or some other concoction you mix up. In conclusion, I really recommend this. I can actually apply in the morning and follow with moisturizer and mu and it still looks pretty. So much better than some self tanners that you "have" to apply at night, because you can't go out looking like you smeared mud all over, and smelling terrible. Goodbye St. tropez, c- ya fake bake. Its been fun, but I found a new bf.... ha ha

Blush -Becca - Beach Tint in Watermelon
rated 4 of 5
Kristie96 5/21/2007 9:36:00 AM

Love the shade of this- looks so natural on lips and cheeks! It really does stay on nicely and has great fruity scent. However I agree with the reveiwer below that there does seem to be a packaging problem. I accidentally purchased 2 of these from sephora, and loved the shade/staying power so much, I decided to keep both anyway. After only a few days tube 1 started leaking out around rim/base of cap when I was squeezing the tube. Annoying... so I figured, its ok, I have the other one- I take it out, after a few days same problem. Wow, obviously a problem here. Such a great product though- just hope they fix this flaw.

Self Tanners -St.Tropez - Tinted Self-Tanning Lotion
rated 4 of 5
Kristie96 4/25/2007 12:11:00 AM

Great color, looks very natural. Be sure to apply with gloves, or use their self tanner remover. Unfortunately smells terrible, and is only for night use, it will make you look crazy dirty brown. I like to think that it is more expensive b/c it has better staying power, but I really dont think the staying power is that great. You really need to appy 3 nights in a row and then you will begin to see a nice, lasting color base. I think fake bake is a little better at staying power, though it is more of a pain to apply in my opinion. Oh well...

Self Tanners -Banana Boat - Sunless tanning in medium light
rated 4 of 5
Kristie96 4/25/2007 12:01:00 AM

This is a review for the summer color sunless tinted lotion in light/medium. I have used so, so many different self tanners and really was not expecting much from this. I think I saw it in a magazine article and decided to pick it up. I usually use St. Tropez, or Fake Bake self tanner, which are both so dark and give quick, realistic results. I always use gloves when applying self tanner and did the same for this one. I am actually very happy with the results of this. It is obviously not extremely dark, but it does not have a terrible smell to it, its not sticky, and doesnt take forever to dry. I like that it is slightly tinted and gives a instant bronzed appearance. I couldnt believe that I was actually comfortable enough to be able to apply this and actually feel like I look and smell good! With most, if not all self tanners I use, I wait to dry, go to bed, then wash off in the AM. I am usually embarassed about the way I look, and smell and try to hide it from my husband, ha ha. I am so happy to find something that gives my skin a nice glow, a self tanning effect with a nice color, and no terrible smell on me. Wow! and for this price I would definetly repurchase!

Other -Crest - Vivid White Toothpaste
rated 4 of 5

This is an awesome toothpaste for whitening a bit over time, or maintaining effects from the crest whitestrips. It really had obvious results, even for a coffeeholic like me.

Misc Beauty Tools -Crest - Crest Premium Plus
rated 4 of 5
Kristie96 4/19/2007 11:53:00 PM

As others have said- I cannot use these according to instructions of twice a day. Ummm yeah, I would not be able to do that because tooth sensitivity would not even allow me to drink a glass of water. Now, when I do these my way, which is every night, or every other night they still work, without as much sensitivity. I should mention that by night 3 or 4 I sometimes need a few day break... despite all this craziness, about halfway through the box I start getting compliments on how white my teeth are and people will ask if I just had them bleached. I also notice the difference. I have a small coffee obsession, so I really need something like this to maintain, I just wish the strips didnt slide on teeth (so annoying) and the sensitivity wasnt so bad. This product does work, however I am going to try another whitening option next time I purchase (new rembrandt or aquafresh kit?)- but I put I would repurchase b/c I dont know if this might be my best option. I may come back to these!

Styling Products -Paul Mitchell - Super Sculpt Styling Glaze
rated 4 of 5
Kristie96 4/19/2007 7:51:00 PM

This has been sitting around my house from a family member that moved out, and I was literally about to throw it out, because I assumed it was gel and there is no way I would want to use gel again after all of my poor experiences with it on my fine, color treated, blonde, bra strap length hair. (my hair is not curly, not wavy, not straight- if anyone knows what I mean!) I saw the reviews on here of what it really is and decided to give it a try. Let me just say that I have come to the point where I have just about given up on all "volumizing" hair products. I have tried many things and they all leave my hair feeling dirty, dry and stiff. So, after washing my hair, I applied a small pea sized amount of bed head after party as usual, then took a dime sized amount of this and smoothed then combed through my hair. I was actually in a hurry, didnt even get a chance to blow dry my hair, and let it air dry. Later my hair had more volume than usual, and I didnt even do any scrunching! I later decided to use my curling iron and flipped hair under/out and was amazed. My hair actually looks bigger and the curls held great! No crunch, or dirty feel. A little dry, but not bad- very happy! Sorry, but I think packaging could be a little better, so minus one lippie.

Fragrances -The Body Shop - Perfume Oil - Vanilla
rated 5 of 5
Kristie96 4/1/2007 11:58:00 AM

This is for the old vanilla oil from the body shop! I agree with one of the reveiwers below- it was so much better. Sorry I am messing up the reveiw stats for the new vanilla, but just had to enter my two cents on this. I had the old formulation of this oil and it was awesome. Nothing even comes close in my opinion. It was the perfect vanilla, and I loved smelling it on myself (weird, yes, but isnt this what we all long for?) So many memories when I smell it- I am so mad that they changed it. When I ever smell anything containing vanilla, I always think about this scent, it was the best! When in the mall, I still stop in the body shop and smell the vanilla, thinking... maybe they changed it back... maybe it will be like it used to. Ha ha, wishful thinking. The new vanilla is just- well regular, nothing to write home about. Ahhhh, please body shop bring back the old vanilla!!!

Crème -Cover Girl - AquaSmooth SPF15 Make-up
rated 4 of 5
Kristie96 3/30/2007 10:39:00 PM

I really like this makeup. I have tried so many different foundations and concealers (you know how it is) some expensive, some drugstore. I find this product to be awesome and keep coming back to it. I use the creamy natural shade and I have found it to work very nice. I use this as a concealer and redness reducer/foundation to cover any spots on my face. It is sheer but does a very nice job covering spots and looking natural. I am sensitive to many products, but this does not bother my skin at all. I also like the spf... nice. The only thing that I dont like is the packaging- come on covergirl, you have got to come up with something better than this. It is way too big of a compact, and is just not the cutest design, I feel this is part of the reason I keep looking for something else. Oh well, it works well other than that, so I will continue to buy this.

Skincare - Face -Ojon - tawaka tribal rejuvenating cream [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Kristie96 3/5/2007 12:52:00 AM

I recently purchased the tawaka cleanser and conditioner and was extremely impressed with them, so I ordered this shortly after. First of all, I am so happy to have something that can be used head to toe. Im 25 and I have sensitive, dry skin. When you spend this much on a product you better use it- so I used this everywhere. It is moisturizing, yet light and fast absorbing. The product insert instructs you to use this prior to makeup application as a base- I was skeptical of this. I tried it out and it was great! Non-greasy, and even after a super long stressful workday, my skin still looked good! On the downside, I feel that the scent is very similar to the ojon restorative treatment, which isnt my favorite smell. It is a little more of a chocolate scent, and it fades after awhile so I am ok with it. Overall, I am sooo happy with all of the tawaka products- my skin and hair are soft, and I dont have to use so many things to get ready in the morning- love it!!!

Styling Products -TiGi - Bed Head After Party
rated 4 of 5
Kristie96 2/27/2007 8:59:00 PM

This product really works for my dry, damaged, blonde hair. I have been trying quite a few smoothing creams and serums for my hair and this had great results. Like another reviewer said, give it some time to "set"- my hair actually looked more silky as the day went by! Maybe my imagination, but I don't think so, I am impressed.

Conditioner -Ojon - Tawaka Rejuvenating Conditioner [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
Kristie96 2/27/2007 2:06:00 AM

Wow, does it get better than this? This is a great conditioner that really adds moisture, even to my fried hair. It feels good to know that this is meant to be used not only on the hair, but also to add moisture to face and body- no worries about back breakouts because of conditioner residue. I actually applied this to my face as the directions say and left it on a few minutes (this was rather scary at first) I rinsed it off with my hair conditioner at the end of my shower. My hair and skin felt soft with absolutely no irritation. Hey, for products of this price I figured I better apply them all over my body! I really love both the shampoo and condtioner (if you want to call them that) and ordered the tawaka creme today and cant wait for it to arrive!
