Moisturizers -La Roche Posay - Nutritic

Not only will I never buy this again, I wish I could go back in time and slug the sales person who talked me into buying this. The only good thing I can say is it smells nice (not a good reason to buy facial cream at all). ' It felt nice and light so I figured it must be ok. I only used it on my chin and cheeks since that's where the RetinA was drying me out. With in days I started breaking out (and bad) on my chin and cheeks. I loved the smell and assumed the breakout was from the RetinA. Well after a week I decided to stop using it and tried something else. I wake up this morning and no more zits. And the RetinA started killing the ones I had so they are faded. I get the occasional zit here and there but this was 15 year old "my hormones are out of wack" juicy landmine zits. I will never so much as try anything from this company again. Oh and I used the 2.5 one, not the 5.

Hair Color -Unlisted Brand - Herbatint - Permanent Haircolour Gel

I can't believe I'm the first to write a review for this. Unfortunately I had to buy this since I can't use the hair colors at the drugstore anymore and I couldn't find Naturcolor (my fav). Like Naturcolor I had to mix the color I wanted with an N color to cover my greys. Fortunately I picked a color lighter than I wanted because I pulls a little dark (I ended up with the color I wanted). What I dislike about the end result is that it's flat. Naturcolor comes our very natural looking and not dull. I haven't washed my hair for 2 days since I want the color to last as long as possible and I found the color has already faded on my temples (just from washing my face). I will be picking up more bottles of Naturcolor when I'm in LA again. I am very very tempted to try Satin Color as well!

Lotions/ Creams -Eucerin - Eucerin PLUS Intensive Repair Hand Creme

This stuff is amazing. A friend of mine let me use this in the summer when my heels were cracked and bleeding (gross I know but very very painful). After wearing this for two nights (under socks) my feet were amazing soft. I love how its not greasy. I now use it on my hands and I can get back to work and not worry about getting lotion all over my papers. My mom let me use the cream her doctor prescribes for her (way more expensive) and I still prefer this. I got all the men in my life using this now , by bro, boyfriend. Even my dad has one in his truck. (They like that its not greasy or has any fragrance).

I too was surprised that this did not make my skin break out. When I was suffering my first burn from Retin A this helped out big time. Now that it's under control I have resorted to using glycerin but keep this close for when I need a little extra moisture. Doesn't sting the skin. Use it on my hair as well (its ok, not amazing though). I love how it just melts in my hands. EDIT: Found this really really helped with the RetinA when I was peeling. I reach for this first. It just melts on the skin and doesn't stay greasy or tacky. EDIT: Jan 27/08 I love love love this stuff. I use it to take of my make up and sunscreen. I started using some strong SS and it was making me breakout a bit. Now I wet my face, scoop a little of this onto a cotton pad and melt of all the makeup and SS, then I wash with my Olay cleanser.

Polishes -OPI - OPI Por Favor
Justina17 12/29/2007 7:15:00 PM
I usually stick to red polishes on my toes and pale/ivory/pink on my nails but this color....... It's so pretty. I had a pedicure done in the summer and used this color. I couldn't stop staring at my toes. The looked like shiny candies.

Mascara -Cover Girl - Lash Exact
Justina17 12/29/2007 7:07:00 PM
I got lucky with a BOGO free of this. I have to say I do love it. I probably have used 3 or 4 of these so far (I don't keep mascara around very long). I would go so far as to say HG but if I was completely out and on a budget - I probably would reach for this one first.

Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Retin A

I used this years ago but I had such sensitive skin back then and didn't know how to make it stop hurting. I got the .05 cream and paid less for it (without insurance) than what I was going to pay for the Avene cream (which I'm sorry, smells like old lady's perfume). It's been only a week but I'm already noticing a big difference. I did make a big mistake and used Olay Perfecting cream on my first off day. Man did my skin peel. EDIT: My skin is really getting used to this and getting better. Just a little peeling on the top of my nose (a little coconut oil and its gone). The fine lines are fading fast. Mind you just started appearing a few weeks before I started using the RetinA. I'm very pleased. I am thinking of using Taz Gel in the summer but for now I'll stick with this. I did get a pimple on my chin this morning but nothing serious. I'm not complaining!

Makeup Brushes -Essence of Beauty - General
Justina17 12/29/2007 5:05:00 PM
Most of the brushes I have gotten from Essence of Beauty are great (except for the Kabuki brush). I got lucky at CVS when they were having a BOGO sale. One of the packages had a free brush in it. I think I paid a total of $10 for 3 really good brushes.

I bought this before reading up on it. And yes, it does suck. Very scratchy. The other brushes from Essences of Beauty are very good though.

Primer/ Corrector -Dermablend - Corrective Foundation

Yes this stuff covers like crazy. I was looking for a replacement for my Guinot (they have changed the packaging as well as the product - way too pale and drying now). This stuff works very well. Blends easily. A little little little bit goes a very long way. I have been using it for almost 6 months and barely put a dent into it.

Sunscreen -Vichy - Capital Soleil SPF30 creme

I'm not sure yet if I would or wouldn't buy this one again. I've been using it for a couple of weeks and so far its ok. Hasn't made me break out. Not greasy. I can see the product separating in a while. I don't want to buy something online and pay crazy taxes and duty (at least not yet). EDIT: I am beginning to like this. It doesn't make my skin greasy or feel tacky. I don't look ghostly white and it is easy enough to wash off. I may venture and try something different but for now I'm liking it.

Eyeliner -Revlon - Colorstay Eyeliner
Justina17 12/29/2007 4:50:00 PM
I can't believe how well this blends, stays on and how long it lasts. I've had mine for over a year and use it almost daily. I have more expensive liners and fluid liners but I always reach for this one. I have the dark brown one. I'm not really interested in trying the other colors. I know that I just wouldn't use them. EDIT: Wow, I can't believe I've been using this so long. I couldn't find it yesterday and tried another "smudge free" eyeliner. By the end of the day, it was managed to smudge on the outer corner of my eyes. I will continue using this for as long as they make it.

I used this years and years ago when I used Retin A. It helped when it got dry and sore in the winter time. Amazing it did make me break out than and it still doesn't now. I find that glycerin is good for moisturizing but when I need something more, this works very well. I don't like that it's in a jar so I have to put my fingers in it. The smell is kind of strong too but it goes away quickly. EDIT: I added a drop or two of glycerin and found it works even better. I still reach for coconut oil before this but I like this on my cheeks.

Where was MUA when I tried Retin A 15 years ago. My skin would hurt so bad especially in winter time. This stuff really really helps! It seemed to cheap and easy. Who would have believed it would of worked. EDIT I found this a little difficult to use since I was just splashing it on my face. So I put water into a spray bottle and added a few drops. Like other reviewers said, less is more. Now I just spritz a little on my face when I need a little boost. EDIT: Jan 28/08 I have had to almost cut this out completely. It left my skin too tacky (even using just a few drop in water in a spray bottle). I found the coconut oil alone was what was helping my skin. I will keep a the bottle (I can always add a drop or two into my moisturizer).

I seem to buy a tube of this every year at Shopper's Drug Mart (and always for $1.99 fir 220mL). It last and last! A little greasy but good stuff. The fact that it is unscented is great for those cold winter days when your hands really hurt.
