This clarifying shampoo is marketed as clean & natural, but there is nothing clean & natural about the overwhelming fragrance. I could not tolerate the perfumey fragrance, which lasted for two days until I washed my hair again. The stylists at my salon said they have been getting similar feedback from other clients and are not going to push the product on them.
Moisturizers -Olay - Regenerist DNA superstructure UV cream SPF 30
Janay 4/16/2011 2:05:00 PM
This is my first anti-aging product and was a big step for me. But I couldn't deny it any longer - the time had arrived. I bought this product based on reviews here and advice from friends. Glad I did! After using it for almost three months, my skin looks a bit smoother and glowy. I'm really happy with it. I've not had problems with using it underneath makeup. But I apply it right after washing my face in the morning and do not apply makup until close to 1/2 hour later. So that gives it time to sink in. Additionally, I use mineral makeup with a very light touch. Only things I wish for would be for a higher SPF rating and packaging that will let me get every expensive drop out of it. So it gets 4 lippies instead of 5.
My boyfriend picked out this candle - he likes cranberries, I don't so much. But it smells very good to me, like cooked, spiced cranberries. It fills up the house with the fragrance. Very good holiday candle.
I prefer sweeter candle scents for the cold weather months and really like this one. To me it has a yellow cake batter fragrance and does a good job filling up my small home with the fragrance. I would definitely repurchase this one.
I bought this product after my hair stylist used it a few times on me. My hair is very thick and heavy, and the weight tends to make it go flat at the roots. This product gives it the volume that I need and is good to use just before blowing my hair dry. I really like the fragrance - it's very fresh smelling, just like all Aquage products. Only gripe is that it's so expensive! But the cheaper products I've tried just don't work as well; they either make my hair greasy, make it crunchy or don't do much good at all. I'm kind of frugal so will keep trying a variety of similar products to see if there is something cheaper that works as well before deciding if this is my HG product.
Styling Products -Redken - 7 Velvet Gelatine Silk-Infused Gel
Janay 12/20/2010 4:35:00 PM
This gel works miracles on my hair. It makes it look like I am good at blow drying my hair, which I am not! I agree with all of the previous reviewers in that it is fairly expensive but worth the money. It provides volume and helps smooth my frizz-prone hair during blow drying. I like the soft smell as well.
Lotions/ Creams -OPI - Avojuice in Coconut Melon Juicie
Janay 12/19/2010 3:37:00 PM
I got a container of this as a free gift from my salon and am glad to have tried it. The fragrance is wonderful, and I like that the lotion sinks into my skin quickly. But it seems to sink in too quickly and just doesn't seem to moisturize enough for the winter months. Maybe it would be better for the summer, so I'll save it and try again when the weather gets warmer.
Treatments -Sally Hansen - Instant Cuticle Remover
Janay 12/19/2010 3:31:00 PM
This is the first cuticle remover I have purchased, and I did so after reading the reviews here. I took the advice of others and left it on a good 60 seconds or so and was pleased with the results. 15 seconds would not have been long enough to do the job, so I deducted one lippie for it not working as fast as the package claims. But I'll definitely repurchase.
I use this product about once per week and really notice a difference in hair texture on the day I use it - much shinier and softer, and my natural waves are more defined. My hair is colored a dark auburn brown with caramel highlights, and there is virtually no fading between touch-ups. I also use Redken Color Extend shampoo & conditioner, which probably helps.
Lip Gloss -Revlon - Super Lustrous - Shine That Pink
Janay 10/31/2010 4:26:00 PM
Great product - I've used some of the other colors in this line with success. The color in the package matches what ends up on my lips, and it lasts a long time. Can't say this particular color works with skin color, though (my skin has warm, olive undertones). I'm going to try the raisin glaze color next.
I got this top coat free at Ulta when purchasing OPI nail polish colors and am glad it was free. The other reviewers were spot on about the bubbling. No matter how I apply it, thick or thin, the bubbles are there. For this reason I'll just use it for my toes and will go back to Seche Vite for my finger nails. Maybe Seche Vite has spoiled me, but this top coat does not seem all that shiny. The one redeeming quality of this product is it lasts about 1-2 days longer than Seche Vite.
Top/Base Coats -Sally Hansen - Salon Nail Care Double Life Base & Top Coat
Janay 7/18/2010 7:59:00 AM
I think this product works well for a base coat but deducted a lippie as it does not perform well as a top coat for me (bubbling, not as shiny as Seche). I've used it about 5-6 times and have not noticed any yellowing or other problems with my nails. With this product, my home manicure can last 5-6 days, which is great for natural nails. The absence of the really nasty chemicals is a plus, too. I will repurchase.
Misc Beauty Tools -Bath and Body Works - True Blue Spa Soothing Socklets
Janay 7/18/2010 7:46:00 AM
I bought these on a whim with the Beauty Queen Wave gloves during a half-price sale and wouldn't have paid full price. Everything the previous reviewers said about not walking around in them is absolutely true - heed the warnings! I don't think the socklets themselves are moisturing but rather allow any foot cream to stay on and absorb into your feet instead of rubbing off onto your clothing, bed sheets, etc. So they work well for that purpose. But I could just as easily wear a pair of old socks to bed and save a bundle of money. I won't repurchase.

I bought these during a half-price sale and wouldn't have paid full price. I had no problem keeping the gloves on my hands as I'm about average size - for the price they should provide at least a couple of sizes though. I don't think the gloves themselves are moisturing but rather allow any hand cream to stay on and absorb into your hands instead of rubbing off onto your clothing, bed sheets, etc. So they work well for that purpose. But I could just as easily wear a pair of old mittens to bed and save a bundle of money. I won't repurchase.
Gels/Soaps -J. R. Watkins - Aloe & Green Tea Liquid Hand Soap
Janay 7/18/2010 7:24:00 AM
I received a sample of this product when buying other J.R. Watkins products. First thing I noticed was the second ingredient is sodium laureth sulfate. This is not a natural ingredient, and Watkins touts their products as natural. Additionally, SLS might cause skin irritation. I was not enamored by the fragrance either. The sample was large enough for about 10 applications, and I was glad when it was gone.
