This l/g totally rocks!! It's a pretty warm caramel and I don't usually put a lot of makeup on aside from l/g so caramels usually wash me out. But this is just super creamy and gorgeous. Get it while you still can!
An MA tried this color on my lips bc I was curious and crazily thought just maybe I can pull off such a wild color...umm, let's just say it didn't work out the way I wanted. I looked like a super freak! My hat goes off to anybody that can pull this baby off.
Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Minted Rose Lip Balm
IllumiGem 8/20/2007 8:27:00 PM
I like this so much better than the strawberry one...this texture is so much more smooth and moisturizing. I can actually feel my finger sink into the balm a little whereas the strawberry one remains hard as a rock! The mint flavor and added tint are nice. The tin container looks adorable but highly unpractical...aside from being unhygenic, the lid is sometimes hard to get off. I said I wouldn't repurchase...
Lip Treatments -Smith's Rosebud Salve - Smith's Strawberry Lip Balm

I totally echo exactly what the reviewer said before me. The tin container is great...but that's the only pro. The texture is not moisturizing and the flavor/smell gets really cloying after a while. I wanted to like this so bad and have been using this on and off for a few weeks now and am finally willing to admit this is just not that great....not worth the hype.
Lip Gloss -MAC - Lustreglass - Palatial [DISCONTINUED]
IllumiGem 8/16/2007 3:05:00 AM
I bought this online without even testing first because many reviewers have stated this is different from anything else they've tried from MAC. I totally agree...on my lips it's a pretty raspberry with awesome green shimmer. Who knew green shimmer could look so good on lips?? :)
Highlighters -MAC - Mineralize Skinfinish in Global Glow
IllumiGem 7/22/2007 1:09:00 AM
I agree that Global Glow is the best msf out of the Flashtronic line. In honesty, from the descriptions on the website I was totally set to either purchase Northern Light or Gold Spill. Unfortunately, not only were neither impressive, but the big chunks of glitter completely turned me off! I wore this over a little bit of Cherche blush on my cheeks today and it looks gorgeous!
I'm not the best at describing color but this truly is the PERFECT PINK on my lips. The website describes it as a "creamy mid-tone pink". Great basic, neutral pink. For referrence I'm a NC25-30 depending on season.
This is a fantastic sunscreen!! Just always remember to apply plenty of moisturizer before hand and it'll work like a charm. It was rather expensive buying this and having it shipped to me from Hong Kong. But it was defnitely worth it...I can't even imagine how I survived without it before!
Yuck! Tastes so terrible!! The color is a flattering pinky/orange on my lips...really fresh and perfect for summer. But alas, I could not get over the taste so I threw it away. It's always such a shame when pretty lipglosses tastes awful...I'm really picky about that.
Lip Gloss -Sally Hansen - Line Smoothing Mineral Lip Treatment

Picked up "Pink Saphire" & "Tourmaline" while they were on sale at my local drugstore...and wow! I'm loving these lgs and this is coming from a total lg junkie. Pink Saphire is very light pink w/ shimmers that show up basically clear w/ shimmers on my pigmented lips (looks great alone or over lipliner). Tourmaline is definitely MLBB w/ very flaterring shimmer. The texture really does smooth out my lips...while most other brands of lipgloss require a lipbalm underneath, these looked beautiful straight out of the tube and applied to my bare lips. However, I took one lippie off for the staying power...it's basically non-existant. Also the color is very sheer, so don't expect the pigments to be like your MAC lgs.
I have to say both Orgasm and Laguna are just very average products for me. In all fairness...I usually use (and love) cream blushes...but I figured I had to atleast try this due to all the hype. Today I ran out of the house in a hurry and had to apply full makeup with limited produts. So I used this pink/coral lipstick, that I always carry for emergencies, as blush and my MAC Cherche blushcreme as a bronzer. The effect turned out just like and even better than my NARS duo...and might I say much cheaper too! Will definitely not be repurchasing.
Scrubs -Bath and Body Works - Pure Simplicity Cocoa Scrub
IllumiGem 3/20/2007 4:06:00 AM
I too love this scrub! It's the best thing I've ever bought from B&BW. The scent in itself just gets me excited about using this product. The granules are perfectl in texture...not to rough, not too gentle and my skin feels super smooth after using this. If available I will definitely be stocking up on this stuff!
I have no problem with the scent...in fact, I love it! After I use the Cocoa Restorative scrub I apply this all over my body and the scent just soothes me when I go to bed. However, I have to agree with other reviewers that say it's not as moisturizing as it could be. It just feels like it's not properly sinking into my skin and leaves a semi-sticky film on top. I love the scrub but this is just ok.
Lip Gloss -E.L.F. - Super Glossy Lip Shine SPF 15 - Candlelight
IllumiGem 2/23/2007 4:08:00 AM
After discovering the E.L.F line I can truly appreciate good quality products in cost efficient ways. I definitely don't think everything in this line is good. Some of their brushes, the foundation stick, ect. really suck...but their Super Gloss Lip Shines are the best! The colors are amazing, the taste is inoffensive, they last relatively well and are all $1. The fact that it contains an SPF just tips the scale for me. I have this in Watermelon, Angel, Pink Kiss and Candlelight(my fave). I haven't purchased a single Super Gloss that I'm unhappy with.
The taste is SO nasty!! Was on vacation in Florida and just picked this up bc it was on sale and the color looked really pretty (light, beigy, shiny pink). I didn't end up trying this until I flew all the way back home to Canada and man oh man...I almost puked instantly from the disgusting strong soapy flower flavour of the gloss! I guess it was a pretty color on my lips but I was too grossed out to appreciate anything but the repugnant taste and smell. Urgh!
