Powder -Chanel - Les Beiges - Healthy Glow Sheer Powder
Hothead 4/18/2013 12:53:00 PM
Sadly I do believe Chanel is putting out inferior products and is just trying to catch up with other HE lines. this powder made me look orange. Frankly if I want to look orange, I will buy some cheapo powder and do it.. it is a useless hyped up product.

Pressed Powders -Estee Lauder - Lucidity Translucent Pressed Powder
Hothead 4/18/2013 12:51:00 PM
love love love this powder.. I use it on top of the Lucidy Foundation and it gives a gorgeous light finish with a bit of radiance to the face. I hate mask effect powders or glimmer and glitter effects. I leave that to the younger ladies. will continue buying.

Liquid -Estee Lauder - Lucidity [DISCONTINUED]
Hothead 4/18/2013 12:47:00 PM
I was able to find another bottle of this. I grabbed it and ran. I will mourn having to pay Ebay prices, but I will. It is one of the best foundations I have ever used.. and there have been many. The consistency is rich yet light - light to medium coverage with no mask effect. I have loved it and now I start my hunt for back ups. Yes, it did not get the best ratings on MUA but the individual reaction to a product is what counts. I hope that by the time I run out completely EL will have something equally good in the liquid foundation line up. I use the Lucidity powder on top and it is just perfect.

Palettes -Urban Decay - Naked Basics
Hothead 4/17/2013 4:30:00 PM
a small brush would have made this a perfect 5 lippie.. but, I take what I can get. This small palette is all I need now for my travels and to do my eyes in the neutrals which I have come to adopt and love. Shimmer, sheen do not work on me except at night -- and then only sometimes. The colours in this palette are subtle and work together well. they talk softly but carry a big stick to make me look better but not overly made up. for the number of shadows, this is relatively cheap. will buy a back up. just because.

Moisturizers -Estee Lauder - Swiss Performing Extract
Hothead 1/9/2012 4:03:00 PM
my on again off again love affair which has lasted 3 decades. it is hard to find because EL makes it so.. but it is one of the best moisturizers since it does just that, moisturize without causing break outs or using silicones. Use under makeup for day -- when I was younger I used it alone. Now I use it with an eye cream and LaMer on top. It is an incredible product but as the other reviewers state, you must ask for it as it is not widely promoted. As long as they don't discontinue it anyone who loves this product is safe. when I don't use this, my skin shows it.. when I go back on it I glow again.. and at my age .. ANYTHING that makes me glow is worth big money.

don't waste money on eye pencils which give you minimal wear and don't offer good colour matches. these pencils wear like iron even in the hot humid summer -- no lost eyebrows for me anymore. No more lost money on $ 24 eyebrow pencils which don't really work well or powders that take a lot of work to make them look even (Yes, even Anastasia's). There are many colour selections and there is surely one for your haircolour. great to fill in and define eyebrows without that pencilled in look .. even the little comb is perfect to give that very fine defined hairlike lines.. I love this product and I love the price !

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline - Midnight Blues
Hothead 9/3/2011 7:11:00 PM
of all the new shades out with the MMO collection, I picked this one up for my honey coloured eyes -- it looks stunning too. I find it has a lot of depth and gives that pop of colour which makes eyes the focus of the face. It has good coverage and as previously noted the blue is intermixed with hints of teal.. I don't think it looks like Siahi but it is similar. I wish MAC would learn from Armani and put in a small plastic disc which protects the product from exposure to air and thus stays fresher longer.. other than that, I love the colour!

Eye Shadow -Urban Decay - Naked Matte shadow
Hothead 9/1/2011 7:56:00 PM
I keep forgetting to add my moniker to this fabulous eyeshadow. it is naked.. yes, it is almost like skin but better. It works on lids, it works as a transition colour from darker contour to lighter highlite, it works over paint pots and any other cream shadow.. It is pure enjoyment to use. Hi pigmentation and easy to use colour for most skins this is a true keeper.. I have it in my Naked palette and am on my second pot.. The packaging is round and more elaborate than MAC's but the tablet is the same size. but.. there is no other colour like this.. MAC's recent MMO line with the beigey tone "Moleskin".. is close but not a contender as compared to being truly Naked. love and will continue to repurchase.

Bronzers -By Terry - Bronze Expert

while looking to contour my face a bit, and adding some shape and colour to the pastiness I ran across this product which on first glance turns me off because I am one of the OCD people who don't like brushes which can't be cleaned after each application. That said, I swatched this product in the 03 shade, which seemed very dark but upon dispersing with the attached brush gave me the golden contour which I was seeking. I absolutely love this product. The product itself is sheer and the 03 colour has NO ORANGE tones -- which is exactly what a natural contour looks like.. I use a pink cream blush or a pinky coral and my face looks sculpted, younger and somehow firmer. don't hesitate to try this product... it is one of the best bronzer's on the market == price is at nose bleed levels, but it's worth it as you only need a tiny bit of product. Actually, I was torn between this and the Chanel bronzing -- but even Chanel proved to give me the orange glow which I detest.

Foundations -Clarins - Super Restorative Foundation -Teint Lift Eclat Spf 15
Hothead 8/21/2011 10:42:00 AM
perfection in foundation.. maybe. I have spent thousands of dollars looking for a perfect foundation .. mostly HE lines. I tried this one and it just felt right.. I just finished reading all the prior reviews and have to add my two cents worth. this is expensive.. and that may be a negative. Considering what it does for my skin though, I will continue paying the high cost. I like this better than the Chanel Vitalumier A.. and I had to buy two of those because Chanel didn't have a colour to match me.. so, this was really a savings. the coverage is perfection -- I use the 03 (MAC NC15 for comp) and it covers most of my spots which are brownish sun spots and gives me a glowy complexion -- almost flawless. I have found that I will only need a touch up with powder around 9 hours later.. and that's only on some days. I wear this over my YSL Matte touch primer which so far is the best for me.. NARS oil free is good too. But a primer definitely makes this foundation last longer and look much smoother. love and repurchase always.

Lipstick -MAC - Amplified Creme - Morange
Hothead 8/21/2011 10:22:00 AM
bright elegant red orange.. this lippie makes you stand out in a crowd so if you are in the pastel/nude or die brigade, stay away from this colour. if however you like to experiment and make a statement.. do try this colour. As noted by the previous reviewer, don't wear this with a lot of eye makeup, es, or much blush.. the more understated, the better with this colour as it is a statement lipstick.

Lipstick -NARS - Pure Matte lipstick - Carthage
Hothead 8/21/2011 10:17:00 AM
a summer staple.. and possible into fall colour. It is from the new matte formulations which Nars did to compete with mattenes.. the colour is a hotcha pink -- bright but wonderfully rich and not too much blue... I have been wearing this for a good part of the summer.. and to be honest, with the heat.. only matte lippies stay on my lips for more than a few hours.. you will need a balm underneath and on top as they can feel drying.. but the impact of the colour is well worth these extra steps.

Lipstick -Victoria's Secret - Very Sexy Perfect Lipstick in Sweet Release
Hothead 8/21/2011 10:13:00 AM
in looking for a plummy browned pink -- what a mouthful! I stumbled upon this lippie which sits in an unassuming black boxy tube. The VS lippies are a box of surprises and I am surprised that the reviews give this colour a low rating.. Personally I love the colour -- it is a plummy mauve with a creamy texture which I blot a bit to get a more matte but not dry look. It works beautifully with my skin tone and a soft blush of pinky rose blush.. I love it and would repurchase but some of these colours are hard to come by since they revampled the packaging /line.. if you find one, get it.. they are inexpensive for good quality and great pigmentation.
