Polishes -OPI - Day at the Peach
rated 5 of 5

Very cute summer shade. In some lights it looks peach, in others it looks pink. Likewise, in some light you can see this rainbow shimmer to it (not glitter). I would not wear glitter nail polish, but a thirty something can pull off this fun polish!

Fragrances -Givenchy - Ysatis
rated 5 of 5

I love Ysatis. I have had it as part of my collection since I was 20 years old. I'm 33 now. It definately is not "old lady" smell. It is very complex and hard to describe -- sort of a powdery oriental. It is such a different smell from all the generic smelling "clean" fragrances out right now, that I think younger generations don't have a nose for it right now. Seems like unless something smells like a fruit smoothie, the younger girls turn their noses up to it. Give this one a shot. It is ladylike yet mysterious and warm. Dispite other reviews, it is actually not very heavy on spice. The floral notes are clearly apparent and warmed up by the spicy notes. Despite other reviews, I don't detect any hint of patchouli. I despise patchouli. I just don't smell it in Ysatis.

Lotions/ Creams -Clinique - Deep Comfort Body Butter

I got this as a free sample, and I love it! Mine came in a very convenient squeeze tube, and I agree with other reviewers that I would not like dipping it out of the tub. This hardly has any smell at all, goes on to hydrate very well without being even the slightest bit greasy. I truly think it is about perfect. The problem for me is that lots of other drugstore brands and bath and body products will give me the same soft skin so I can't justify the price of buying this product in the future.

Eye Shadow -Milani - Storm(#11)
rated 5 of 5
Heatherbell70 9/21/2003 8:50:00 AM

Everything about this shadow is 100% perfect. It is a deep rich black with silver sparkles. It looks like MAC black tied should look, except unlike black tied, the sparkles stay on your eyes when you put it on. It is extemely highly pigmented so it will last a long time, and it was dirt cheap. I love the packaging because you can see the shadow through the top and don't have to open it to see which color it is. Plus, it is flip top, so there are no worries about misplacing the top.

I hate to admit this, but I have always adored this dirt cheap fragrance. This was my first perfume, and I wore it through high school. People always loved it on me but then teased me AFTER I told them what it was. My dad found it in the bathroom and thought it was one of his colognes. He started wearing it, and I asked him what cologne he was wearing. He told me, and we shared a good laugh when I told him that was my perfume. He and I both wore it until I moved away to college. I have many, many beautiful, and expensive fragrances now. I read the reviews here and remember it so fondly. I think I will skulk off to the drugstore and buy some. Now I'll just be smart enough not to tell anyone the name when they all ask what the intoxicating perfume is that I am wearing.

Fragrances -Christian Dior - Poison

I had a roommate in college who wore this. It made our place reek of cat piss and grape Hi-C, in my opinion. She thought it was so sexy. Everyone who came over asked me, "what is that awful smell?" The answer -- Gina's Poison perfume.

Foundations -L'Oreal - Visible Lift Line Minimizing Makeup
rated 4 of 5
Heatherbell70 9/20/2003 8:26:00 PM

I don't wear drugstore foundation if I expect to be in photos, because the titanium dioxide looks so strange in photos. However, this is a great foundation for me to wear to the office, or in a pinch, etc. Great coverage, will not settle into fine lines or pores. Makes me porcelain and beautiful and lasts all day. The shade pale is just a bit too light, but I can just mix in a tad of bronzer, and it works.

Lipstick -Clinique - Color Surge Lipstick - Dreamy Pink
rated 3 of 5
Heatherbell70 9/20/2003 8:15:00 PM

This is a sheer pinky nude lipstick. The formula stays nice and moist. The color just washes me out and is completely uninteresting. I am a pale blond. I would not buy it again, but it may look better on someone with different coloring.

Lotions/ Creams -Bath and Body Works - Gardenia Lily Body Lotion
rated 5 of 5

I like the scent. I am a pale blond and love light florals. I have the body cream and rub it in my warm skin while I'm still in the shower. It is much more moisturizing than the lotion. The scent is very subtle, which I like because I can still wear my perfume.

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Youth Dew
rated 1 of 5
Heatherbell70 9/20/2003 6:57:00 PM

I love perfume. I like lots of different perfumes, even if I can recognize that they are not for me. I remember smelling youth dew for the first time in the 70's when I was about eight. It was on my grandma's bureau. She had the good taste not to wear it and finally threw it out, despite the fact that it was a gift from one of her children. I thought it was the worst thing I had ever smelled and still do! I have always hated patchouli. To me it smells like the worst kind of crotchy body odor. This smells like that crotchy body odor plus someone spraying something disgustingly sharp and sweet to cover the body odor. I once had a conversation with several friends about the best and worst fragrances ever made. Seems like everyone had a different favorite, but almost everyone agreed Youth Dew is the foulest smelling scent ever created.

Fragrances -Kenzo - Parfum d'Ete
rated 3 of 5
Heatherbell70 9/20/2003 6:45:00 PM

Okay, you might find this odd, but this has no smell on my skin. I even asked other people their opinions, and they couldn't even smell it either, even when putting their noses directly on my wrist. It is okay but unremarkable in the bottle -- sort of smells like grass, sap, just a hint of floral. It certainly doesn't grab me as being feminine, sexy or interesting. I'm tired of all the "clean" scents and will be happier when perfumes start having some more variety again. Overall this is completely unoffensive and nice, not remarkable. It is especially unremarkable on me because it doesn't even leave a trace of scent on me!

Eye Shadow -NARS - Eye Shadow in Night Flight
rated 5 of 5
Heatherbell70 9/20/2003 6:05:00 PM

Black with blue glitter. So pretty in the pan. The glitter shows when applied wet. Otherwise, is a nice versatile black smoky shadow. I love NARS rubber packaging with the cool NARS logo.

Highlighters -Clinique - Glow Crazy Powder Highlighter in Platinum Glow
rated 5 of 5
Heatherbell70 9/20/2003 5:59:00 PM

This is so PRETTY! I got this as a gift with purchase. If you put it in the pout of your lip, it looks like you have gloss over your lipstick when you dont. It is not too shimmery. Looks great dusted over bare shoulders, to highlight brow bones, to put a little glow on the apples of the cheeks. Just a gorgeous versatile product. I love the flip top container so that I dont lose the lid. However, it has this tiny little hole in the top that makes it so hard to get evenly dusted on a brush.

Blush -NARS - Orgasm Blush

Pretty peach color. In the container, it looks like it has more pink and some shimmer, but on me it looks peachy with no shimmer. It really does seem to look good on everyone.

Lip Liners -Wet 'n' Wild - #666 liner
rated 5 of 5
Heatherbell70 9/20/2003 5:19:00 PM

I dont really find this to be a nude color. To me it is a pinky brown color. Looks awesome with my chanel cashmere lipstick, clinique berry flirt gloss, and many, many other of my lipsticks. It just seems to blend with just about any of them. I dont find this pencil to be hard at all, like some other reviewers have. Mine glides right on. Plus I found it at a drug store during a two for one sale and only paid $0.50. That is the best fifty cents I have spent in a long time!
