Candles -Unlisted Brand - Better Homes and Gardens Wax Tart (6 pc) Butterscotch Maple Cream
rated 5 of 5
Dragun 1/18/2012 10:00:00 PM

Second in this line of reviews for this product line. This tart has a warm, sweet scent that is elusive. I don't smell one scent or the other more, but the blend puts me in mind of butterscotch at times and maple at others. It's a really nice tart and I've purchased this scent several times. Worth repurchase.

Candles -Unlisted Brand - Better Homes and Gardens Wax Tart (6 pc) Ginger Spice Cake
rated 4 of 5
Dragun 1/18/2012 9:58:00 PM

The first of my reviews on this product line. Before I moved, my local Wal-Mart didn't carry these, so I bought them down the road at a boutique for $4.95 each. The BH &G versions are generally nicely made, and they all have a good throw, albeit only for one tealight worth. The Ginger Spice Cake starts out with a sweet ginger, then begins to give off hints of sweet cake. Really nice.

Lipstick -Tarte - True Blood LipSurgence Lip Stain
rated 5 of 5
Dragun 1/6/2012 7:27:00 PM

Yes, this is pricey, but I adore it. I only found out it existed a few months ago. I searched Tarte's site, and Sephora, all out of stock. :( So, I checked HBO's shop, and lo and behold, it was in my hot little paws within the week. I love that the plastic box it came in says "Glamour Me." I love the minty sweet scent. It's smooth and creamy to put on, and I get even coverage on my slightly pigmented lips. I'm pale, so this gives me a very "Jessica" look, which is exactly what I was hoping. I like to apply and blot two or three times to get the best "stain" effect. I think due to the consistency and the form, it will last me a long time. But, I would repurchase, even though it makes my hub squawk about the $$..

Lotions/ Creams -Queen Helene - Cocoa Butter Hand and Body Lotion
rated 5 of 5
Dragun 9/19/2011 9:28:00 PM

I'd heard of Queen Helene products, but had never used them. I moved from Illinois (relatively humid) to Colorado (relatively dry) this year and had noticed that my skin was much drier. I was in Wal - Mart and saw a small tube for $.97 and threw it in the cart, thinking I'd keep it in my purse. I tried it on my hands and liked it, the scent makes me think of sunbathing at the beach. Then, reading the tube, it says it's suitable for the face. I have oily, breakout prone, wrinkling, sun - damage showing skin, and the dry Colorado air had really started to make my crows feet pop. :/ I put a small dab of this lotion in my hand, rub it into to my hands pretty well, then gently pat a tiny bit of the lotion on my clean face, where the crows like to walk. It doesn't break me out, doesn't get greasy, and my fine lines are more in balance. I would recommend this product to anyone for hands, elbows, knees, etc. I wouldn't recommend it for every face, but I'm thrilled to have found a new, inexpensive, effective product! Will repurchase, probably for a long time.

Foundations -Wet 'n' Wild - Natural Wear Mineral Foundation
rated 4 of 5
Dragun 6/3/2011 9:40:00 AM

I'm probably in the minority here, but I love this product! It comes with an adorable baby buki that isn't as soft as my others, but very portable. I have used several mineral foundations and while this does take a bit more to build coverage than other brands, I don't have any issues with the shade matching my skin (745 Fair). I found this in my local CVS at 75% off so it was a steal. I love that the package holds both the product and the cute lil buki. It's great for travel. Would repurchase.

Lipstick -MAC - Sheen Supreme Lipstick - Behave Yourself
rated 5 of 5
Dragun 6/3/2011 9:35:00 AM

I went hunting for St. Germain l/s and was told by my closest M.A.C. counter MA that it was only available at freestanding stores and that it was back - ordered everywhere. The lovely MA then suggested that I try Behave Yourself. I. am. in. love. This lipstick is creamy and easy to wear like a balm. The shade is probably not exactly St. Germain but wow what a gorgeous pop of pink!! There's very little blue in it, because my teeth look instantly whiter with it on. Its soft and easy to apply. I adore the way my large, pigmented lips look with it on. It makes me feel girly and sexy at the same time. Would absolutely repurchase!!

Lotions/ Creams -Beyond Belief - Hand and Body Lotion
rated 4 of 5
Dragun 11/18/2010 3:44:00 PM

I purchased my first tube of this in Sally Beauty last year. It was Chocolate Fudge scent in a 2.25 oz. tube. Loved it. It lasted until a few weeks ago, and never lost it's scent or changed texture. This year, when I went back to get more, the Chocolate was sadly not available. Instead I got Vanilla Brulee and GingerSnap. Both are nice, with the same level of moisture and scent the Chocolate had. For around $3 USD each, they're worth it. Great for stashing in your purse or as a small Holiday gift. Would repurchase!

Mascara -Maybelline - Volum' Express The Falsies
rated 4 of 5
Dragun 11/18/2010 3:38:00 PM

Needed a new mascara and found this in my local Wal - Mart for $5.00 USD. Got it in Black Drama. It is a dramatically lengthening mascara. I have naturally long, but pale and thin lashes. While this brings out the the length, yes, almost to the point of falsies, there is almost zero thickening power. The curved 'spoon' brush is nothing new, there are others like it, but it's easy to use generally and I have no complaints about it. Overall, a decent lengthening mascara, skip it if you're looking for fullness too. May purchase again.

Lip Gloss -Philosophy - Red Velvet Cake
rated 5 of 5
Dragun 11/18/2010 3:33:00 PM

Love philosophy's Red Velvet Scent. Not a huge fan of the fingertip application and the slight stickiness. Would repurchase for the yummy scent and sweet flavor, as well as the rosy shine it adds to my lips.

Lotions/ Creams -Unlisted Brand - EXTRA VIRGIN Coconut Oil (All brands)
rated 5 of 5
Dragun 6/6/2010 2:28:00 AM

I had read the reviews on this product and was intrigued, but living in the rural midwest does not make this product easy to find without paying some outrageous shipping. Then, about a month ago I had an opportunity to go to Monah's International (80 miles away) and found a huge squeeze bottle for three bucks and some change. It's the kind you can cook with, so it's solid, but in a handy squeeze bottle that makes getting it out easier. I decanted some into a 5 gram pot and have used it on my lips (heavenly), on freshly shaved legs (like buttah), on a new tattoo (soothing), on a small cut (again, soothing), and carefully on my cobweb-fine hair (nicely soft). This melts on contact, tastes faintly of and smells like it should. Comparing the price to the wide range of uses (and I'm not even counting cooking), this stuff is fantastically deserving of ten stars. One caveat - if you're breakout prone avoid using this on your face. Will gleefully repurchase.

Moisturizers -Yves Rocher - Inositol Skin Optimizer
rated 5 of 5
Dragun 7/9/2009 1:48:00 PM

I got a sample of this product in my last order. I tried it out, believing it to be a moisturizer/primer. It felt really great on my aging, but acne prone skin. I decided to order the full size (only 1.35 fl. oz.) and got it on sale. When I got it I realized that it's actually a gradual self-tanner! So, I've been using it daily in place of my moisturizer and really like the way it sinks in nicely, leaving my skin soft and slowly, ever so slowly, developing a nice, natural looking glow. I would repurchase and highly recommend this to light skinned people who want a subtle face tanner in a great light moisturizer. Yves Rocher is terrific for their credit program, customer service and the fantastic sales you get.

Polishes -Unlisted Brand - NYC - In a New York Color Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish - Park Avenue 246B
rated 5 of 5
Dragun 7/9/2009 1:43:00 PM

I picked this up on a whim in Wal-Mart. It was only $1.17USD. The bottle looks like a frosted lilac. It goes on very sheer and dries quickly, although longer is always better with drying paint. It's a very forgiving shade, meaning that nicks or chips aren't screamingly visible. I started with two coats and got a lovely pinky/lilac shade that's very nearly the shade of my skin with shimmer. It's not a nude though, definitely a ballet pink/pale lilac tone. I would absolutely re-purchase, and will likely try more shades.

Moisturizers -Yves Rocher - Inositol Vegetal Optimal Day Care 1st Wrinkle
rated 5 of 5
Dragun 6/6/2009 6:03:00 PM

This is a nice every day moisturizer. The company says that after 14 days skin will be smoother, less lined and glowing. I would give it high marks on those claims. I noticed a definite improvement in certain areas, and even slight improvement in other areas. The scent is nice and not overpowering. The cream absorbs quickly, leaving my skin soft and not greasy. The cute little green pod container is refillable, saving waste. (How great is that?) If you catch it on sale, it's better than at full price, but I'd still say worth the full price. I generally love Yves products and this is no exception. Will repurchase as long as they sell it.

Lip Treatments -Yves Rocher - Les Plaisirs Nature Nourishing Balm - Vanille Coco
rated 3 of 5
Dragun 6/6/2009 5:59:00 PM

I got this in a mailer sale and was hoping it would be great. Sadly, I have to dissent from previous reviews. While it feels great on, smells lovely, was inexpensive and is easy to use I have two complaints. First, I noticed an odd yellow cast on my lips. Then, about 30 minutes after application, my lips felt more dried out than before I used the balm. Not my usual experience with Yves products, I've been a member for years now. This must just be an glitch. I'll stick with Labello and Lavanilla. Would not repurchase.

Eyeliner -Avon - Dramatic Focus Kohl Eye Liner
rated 3 of 5
Dragun 6/6/2009 5:54:00 PM

I got this in a twofer sale in Charcoal. I love the shade, a perfect slightly shimmery gray. I don't use pencils on my waterline, so the wear there isn't an issue for me. I use it on the outside lines, and if I smudge it with my The Body Shop smudger, the wear is pretty decent for the price. The biggest reason I would not repurchase is the packaging. While the bullet shape is cute, there's no way to lock the liner into place at different heights. Further, it's absolutely impossible to sharpen with losing much of the liner itself. Nice kohl, poor design, no repurchase for me.
