I'm not usually a fan of more opaque polish colors and some of these cooler toned, greyish polishes tend to give me the "dead hand" look but I have to say I really like this one! It's got enough pink in it to look pretty on my fingers. Like another reviewer mentioned, I was a bit put off after applying the first coat (streaks galore!) but then I applied the second and everything blended together really well. Oh, and I love how quickly and evenly Essie polishes seem to dry, btw!!!
Just got this and can see myself buying it again when the color finishes. You can apply this in one coat with no streaks and it's beautifully sheer, or layer it for a more translucent look. On the bottle and on me this glossy beige pink color compliments my peachy pink skin tone wonderfully. It looks great on shorter nails like mine too, which is always a plus and the main reason I stick with neutrals or paler colors. Definitely give this one a try!
I found this color to be much prettier in the bottle at the store than it does on my nails. It looked like it might have a bit of shimmer but when I put it on, no, just a glossy finish and a bit too opaque for my taste. It needed 3 coats to apply evenly and it's a bit more orangey than I would like. The peachy undertones match my skin tone which is nice but I'd recommend this shade be tried on before you buy it. The main reason I'm giving Mambo a 4 instead of 3 is because this color ROCKS underneath OPI's Black Shatter....
Misc Beauty Tools -Sephora - Sephora Collection Eyelash Curler
DoraZ 5/13/2011 8:52:00 AM
So after almost 6 years together my trusty Revlon eyelash curler finally busted and I decided to buy a new one instead of sending my old one in to get fixed. I was in Sephora and despite the price tag of $16 (I know Shiseido's is even MORE expensive, but $16?!?!) I bought the Sephora Collection Eyelash Curler in Black. It's OK and maybe I'm just too used to my Revlon curler but I just canNOT get this one to work satisfactorily enough for me even after 2 weeks. It was unwieldy at first and I kept getting the curler too close to my eye and pinching my eyelid! A a problem I NEVER had with my Revlon eyelash curler. Then when I got the hang of coming out a bit, I ended up with "bent" lashes, again, a problem I never had before. I'm finally getting the hang of it but I still have to use both hands to squeeze this closed...I don't know, maybe I'm squeezing too hard but nothing happens at all even if I squeeze it softly and leave it for a few seconds to try to "set" the curl. At this point I'm not sure WHAT I'm doing wrong with this curler but I still end up with weird bent lashes that just stick up instead of curving up even though I'm trying my best to not squeeze so tightly and curl my lashes in sections. Anyway, I'm giving this one more week and if it still doesn't work for me off to swap it goes and back to Revlon I go!!!!
This is my favorite Escada fragrance, I love the fresh, fruity scent and the floral keeps it from being too "sweet." It does dry down a bit after first applying strongly, but it doesn't disappear...my DH sniffs me at the end of every day I wear this and always comments on how good I smell, especially when I spray just a tad in my hair. Love!
I've been a die-hard fan of Maybelline's Full 'n' Soft mascara for quite a while now, but I decided to give some other Maybelline mascaras a try and I'm really glad I decided to try this one. I took off one lippy because I agree with many other reviewers on one point, the brush is scritchy scratchy so watch out how close you get this to your eyelids while applying!!!! However, I like how this mascara gives my lashes more length without getting spiky and it's not too heavy so my lashes stay curled all day. Also, since it's waterproof the staying power is amazing, my eyelashes look EXACTLY the same at 9 o'clock at night as they did at 9 o'clock this morning and no "raccoon eyes" which is a plus. I'll definitely be purchasing this mascara again!
I'm not a fan of Clinique's mascaras but I actually really like way this mascara looks on my lashes, giving them definition and length. The formula isn't wet and heavy and my lashes are still curled by the end of the day when I wear this. I was pleasantly surprised by the application as well. When I first looked at the skinny wand I thought no way will this apply well but it doesn't clump which I love. However I'm taking off one lippie for the smudging and another lippie off for the flaking. I've already got dark undereye circles, no way do I need my mascara contributing to the problem!
Blush -MAC - Sheertone Shimmer Blush - Ambering Rose

This is a beautiful blush, a tad bit dark on my NW20 skin tone during the winter months but gorgeous when I have a tan during the summer. I don't wear this often...the main reason I wanted to review this was to pass this tidbit along...it's basically the EXACT same color as Sunbasque, only a couple of shades darker. Go for Sunbasque if you're on the fairer side and you want a shade like this you can wear year round.
I spent a happy hour last month scouring the MAC wall at my local CCO and picked this color up...so glad I did! I have hazel eyes and this color made the olive green just POP! My DH even compliments me on how pretty my eyes look every time I wear this...and he almost NEVER notices my makeup! I love how sheer the color is, but you can build it up and layer it if you want a more intense look. The only thing that's annoying about this shade is it seems to crease and disappear pretty quickly, even with an eyeshadow primer or foundation on my eyelids (I do tend have oily eyelids unfortunately) so I gave this 4 lippies instead of 5. I paired this with MAC's Chocolate Brown pigment and Ola Viola! eye kohl in the inner corners of my eyes last night for an evening out look. LOVE!
I have the Viva Glam VI SE lipstick and love to pair it with this gorgeous Viva Glam VI SE Tinted Lipglass, which is a bright yet neutral pink. This lipglass almost gives me "Barbie Pink" lips but it's sheer enough that it looks fun and pretty, not over the top and garish. I also like that this has tons of shimmer but not too much sparkle and the fact that it's a bit more pigmented than some other lipglasses and can be worn on it's own is a plus as well.
This is a beautiful shade of lipstick and it compliments my NW20 skin tone perfectly. It is a bit brighter than the lip colors I normally wear, but it's more of a neutral pink so it can be used for every day wear. I also like that it's the Lustre finish that's a bit more sheer and you can layer it if you want. I love to wear it with Viva Glam VI SE Tinted Lipglass on top to punch up my lips for evening...a sexy version of the "Barbie Pink" lip that's not over the top. Love!
Lipstick -MAC - Sheen Supreme Lipstick in Impressive
DoraZ 3/18/2011 9:48:00 PM
I was super impressed by MAC's Sheen Supreme lipsticks, any lip product that's as moisturizing as these are gets two thumbs up from me, especially if you can apply them with no lip balm underneath. The staying power is pretty good too, especially if you blot and reapply. I tried all of them but my favorite was this one, Impressive. It's a beautiful rosy brown color that's almost EXACTLY like MAC's Cremesheen lipstick in Creme in Your Coffee (on my lips and swiped on my hand), just not quite as pigmented. Impressive is also almost the same as MAC's Lustre lipstick in Hug Me on my lips only not as sheer, so it's basically a color layered between these two. I'll be buying this again because both of those lippies are HG colors for me and I love the texture of these Sheen Supreme lippies. Please Note: The SA did mention to me NOT to leave these in a warmer area...they are much softer in texture than a lipstick. I can see I'll have to be careful where I store these!!!!
This isn't a bad mascara, but it's not a great one either. I do like that it gives my lashes some nice volume, no clumping or flaking and the wear is decent. I HATE the scent however, this mascara smells like a nasty ear infection or something like that. I will not be buying this again on account of the horrid smell. Dislike!
I like this color, just not quite as much as the Viva Glam Gaga 2 lipstick which I was really excited about. I'm bit disappointed in the texture, it seems thicker and more goopy than other lipglasses I've tried even the more pigmented ones. Plus, I can't wear this by itself without ending up with "concealer" lips, for a gloss, I wish the color was a bit more sheer and not quite so opaque. However, I was experimenting in my MU box and tried this over MAC's Lustre lipstick in Hug Me and ended up with a gorgeous glossy nude lip that looked fantastic, which is why I'm giving this 4 lippies instead of 3 because I found a nice way to use it!
I actually really, really liked this lip color. Obviously it's not a color that is meant to be worn on its own unless you do like that "concealer" lip look, but with a lipgloss over it this color is amazing! Finally a beige lipstick that's neutral and not too yellow or tan which is what I really like about this. It serves as an awesome base for a perfect pale nude lip...apply the lipstick, blot well and apply lipgloss on top. I tried this with several lipglass colors and they all looked wonderful, but my absolute favorite was MAC's Tinted Lipglass in Viva Glam VI which is a gorgeous sheer plummy color and WOW!!!!!!! LOVE!
