Conditioner -TRESemme - Naturals Nourishing Moisture Conditioner

Back when I was dying my hair, and it was drier than the desert and more damaged than a snapped twig, I used this. I remember it actually made my hair feel soft, and supple. I used it all up, and then didn't repurchase because I had other products to try. Now, I have virgin hair again, down to above my shoulders. I bought this, and I was thinking it would be too heavy for my hair, like all the conditioners I used before were. Nope, same fantastic results. That alone makes it a great product. Add in the fact that it doesn't weigh my virgin hair down, but made my damaged hair stay down (it was damaged so badly that it frizzed horribly), it's cruelty free, smells nice, AND has no silicone at all for a 4 dollar price tag? Man, what's NOT to love!?

Conditioner -Alberto Vo5 - Kiwi and Lime Squeeze Clarifying Conditioner
rated 2 of 5

Out of all the Vo5 things I've tried, this is the worst. I don't really see a good point to it. No conditioning, no good scent, and no smoothing properties.

Hair -Alberto Vo5 - Alberto Vo5 Shampoo's & Condioners; General

Since I was a little girl, my mother bought this stuff for me. At the tender ages of 8, 9 and 10, I had not a clue what was good for hair, and bad for hair. My mom bought this stuff because it was cheap. I'd use the one that smelled the best, and had a pretty color. Back then, the bottles were clear, and I loved how they looked back then. Now, the packaging is more blah, with more opaque plastic. But I loved the super clear plastic bottles. At the ages of teenage hood, around 13 and up, I deemed Vo5 too childish for me, and went ahead with L'oreal, Garnier, and Herbal Essences. I still remember how Herbal Essences looked a few years ago. My mother used the one for color treated hair, and I thought the bottles looked soooo cool. Herbal Essences was my first venture out into beauty products. Since straying from vo5, I have had no loyalty. Tresseme, Dove, and Pantene meant nothing to me. I walked the hair aisle, and mercilessly picked out shampoos and conditioners based on price (to me, I thought the more expensive, the better) but I always ignored the little Vo5 bottles winking up at me. Even Suave got more love from me. I had my hair dyed ice blond, and I was after moisture for my dry dry hair at those days. Packaging changed on everything, and I continued bouncing around, but never settled for Vo5, I deemed it beneath me. Finally, after an awful dye job, where my hair started breaking off badly, I cut it, and started to grow out my virginal brown hair. All the products I used to love suddenly left my hair weighed down, and greasy. Along with the ultra short haircut, I felt ugly. So, I scanned the aisles and realized I had tried everything, and now, it didn't work. Turning, I saw vo5 peaking at me, and I walked over. I picked up a bottle each of Strawberries and Cream shampoo and conditioner. What did I have to lose, right? It was on sale for 89 cents. I shoved the bottles to the bottom of my hair selections and continued trying the more expensive things. Finally, running out of options, I reached for the bottle, and expected absolutely nothing. Lo and behold, soft, sleek, beautiful hair that smelled wonderful! My ringlets were bouncy and defined and I found out there was No Silicone at all! Since then, I've had a change of heart. I still know little loyalty, but Vo5 certainly has more love from me than Pantene (which I despise) and Herbal Essences (which doesn't work at all.) I adore this line, and I'd buy it for the rest of my life. I haven't tried it on dyed hair, but I will. When my hair finishes growing out, I plan on dying it back to blond, and avoiding my dying mistakes. Then we shall see. For now, this is HG status. EDIT: Oh my goodness...WHAT CAN'T THIS STUFF DO!? Even on my now dyed hair (I'm back to bright blonde, baby!) it leaves it so soft and defined. It still smells incredibly and looks even better! BUY THIS STUFF! What in the world are you WAITING for!?

Wonderful line. I can't say anything better about it. I have nothing bad to say at all! Delicious smell, cheap, good quality, and they don't even test on animals. Win. Win. Win.

I find that this is one of the best conditioners I've ever used. The smell is divine (which is always a biggie for me) and it makes my hair very smooth, and soft, but not weighed down.

I ADORE this shampoo. Really. It's wonderful. It's cheap, it cleans, it leaves my hair bouncy and gives it a clean slate. The ingredients aren't awful. I'm not a fan of the scent, but what can I say? Who cares what it smells like if it works! Absolutely in love.

Conditioner -Suave - Strawberry conditioner
rated 5 of 5
DollParts7 7/23/2011 10:01:00 AM

I find that this conditioner actually was better than the rest of the line, which is odd. I figured they were all the same with different scents, but this one was more runny, and conditioned better. I actually find that for my virgin curly hair, runny conditioners work way, way better than the thick ones.

Very meh. I find that shampoos don't particularly differ at all to me. If they clean, they're fine. I haven't met a shampoo that doesn't strip my hair. It's sweet smelling, and it doesn't strip my hair completely. That makes it a winner in my book.

Styling Products -Farouk CHI - Chi Iron Guard
rated 4 of 5

This seems very middle-of-the-spectrum in reviews to me. Personally, I can't stand the smell either. It's supposed to be 'unisex', and I understand that some men do flat iron their hair, and they appreciate not smelling like a flowery woman every time they do (Metrosexuals, woot woot) However, for me, as a fluffy, pink, powderpuff kind of girl, the scent is gross. And I'd like it to be just a little more feminine. However, the smell actually doesn't stick around that often. As for the sizzling that I keep hearing, I'm going to say this, you're doing it wrong if your hair is sizzling. That means you've put too much, and ultimately, that means that your hair will end up fried, crunchy, and/or stiff. So, as some have advised, spray it on your palms and then pat or smooth onto your hair, or do as I do. I divide my very curly hair into sections, and then spray this stuff on. Yes, directly. I comb through it, and then I wait for it to dry. That's it! Then I use my 410 flat iron (no lower or higher on my cheapie Zoe) and no sizzling. It glides, and my hair is soft and the smell is gone. By the time the entirety of my hair is done, there is hardly any damage and it's soft, smooth, and most importantly, NOT STIFF! Certainly better than nothing, but why is it that the only heat sprays I've had luck with smell absolutely terrible! Both scents go away, but they're just icky!

Deodorants -Secret - Flawless

It's odd, but I find that this is the only deodorant that I can use that works on me. I've tried everything from Dove to Certain Dri. Clinical Strength and weak organic ones. This one just works. And it smells nice. So why should I complain?

Loose Powders -Sally Hansen - Natural Beauty Inspired by Carmindy Truly Translucent Loose Powder
rated 5 of 5

The only powder I ever use anymore. I used to hate powders, because they made me look too fake. This one, however, made my foundation look twice as natural! I don't leave the house without dusting this on with my MAC stippling brush. Absolutely flawless. HG.

Scrubs -Neutrogena - Oil-Free Acne Wash pink grapefruit foaming scrub
rated 4 of 5
DollParts7 7/13/2011 1:29:00 PM

I don't understand why people don't like this. I find that it doesn't exfoliate, but it smells nice, and it cleans my skin off pretty well. I actually really like this. Mainly because I used it back when I first started getting acne, and it really helped keep most of it away.

Toners -Neutrogena - Rapid Clear 2-in-1 Fight & Fade Toner

Love it. It doesn't real fade anything, but it keeps the acne away and keeps my pores relatively clean. I'm happy with that.

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Deep Clean Relaxing Nightly Cleanser
rated 4 of 5
DollParts7 7/13/2011 1:26:00 PM

I bought this product twice. I did use it at night with no ill affects. It didn't seem to control acne, but it didn't cause it either. It really is a mediocre product, so I don't use it anymore. There is better, but this isn't BAD, just not amazing.
