Skincare - Body -Unlisted Brand - Mr. Pumice - Pumi Bar

Excellent product. Much better than any other pumice I've ever used. Removes dry, flakey, rough, peely skin like no other & it does it quite quickly. I do this at the end of my shower after my feet have had the chance to soak. I apply a little shower gel to the underside of my feet, then use the coarse (darker) side first then the other (lighter) side to finish off - this removes all traces of dry & built up skin. I also find the lighter side is good for smoothing any dry skin around my toes. Then I finish off Eulactol Heel Balm (or any rich moisturiser) & put on cotton socks - perfect feet afterwards! My feet tend to dry out as we have all hard flooring here and living in a warm climate I wear thongs and open shoes most of the year. This product is cost effective, has minimal packaging & it works - can't get better than this. 10/10! I live in Australia & have not seen it in any shop here so I purchase online.

I had this in Black Shimmer. It was just awful for me. Irritated my eyes immediately with chunks of it free-floating around on my eyeballs. Within minutes my eyes were streaming and it was everywhere BUT on my waterline. To remove was sheer hell as it smudged everywhere & took several pads soaked with Clarins Eye Makeup Remover Lotion to get it off. Going back to Lancome Le Stylo Waterproof eyeliner!

Blush -Avon - True Color Powder Blush in Earthen Rose
Discod 7/31/2011 5:59:00 AM
Very natural colour. Neutral. 'Earthen Peach Bronzer' would have been a better name for this beige/tan/peachy colour. It's a very natural colour on me and makes an excellent bronzer & blusher, all year round. Less packaging & more product would be better, but it's cheap enough. I give it 5/5 for the product alone. It's as good as my old favorite Elizabeth Arden bronzer Shade 1 in my opinion, and almost a dupe in colour.

Never been into the Purple range of e/s and this was gift that had sat in my collection for ages before I used it. I am so surprised - I used this in the crease & outer lid over a paler matte taupe from the Coastal Scents Neutral palette and it looks very nice. A nice 'day look'. Also used the same on a friend who is paler than I, who has brown eyes - looks fabulous on her - really opened up her eyes. Not too dark (looks darker in pan), slight shimmer (Satin?) & it's buildable. Has less pigment than many of my MAC shadows though, and one of the few in my collection that I like that has actual shimmer. It certainly does not accentuate lines anyway :) Not that I am overly lined, just I am 47 now and steer clear of too much 'sparkle'. 4/5 because the pigment could be better IMO, so you do need to blend it in to get true depth of colour.

Lip Treatments -Unlisted Brand - Lucas' Papaw Ointment

It's an Australian 'Vaseline' type product - take that as you will. It's nothing really outstanding, does the same jobs as Vaseline, I use it on my lips when they are dry and it's rather economical and available in most Pharmacies here in Australia. I'm seeking a more natural product for dry lips now as this product has Petrolatum in it and I don't like the idea of consuming that much as Doctors say this ingredient can build up in the body over time. :( I don't see the full ingredients listed here so here they are :- Active ingredients- Carica Papaya, Glycerine Full ingredients- Fermented Fresh PawPaw Fruit, Rhus Succedanea Wax, Glycerine, Petrolatum, Canola Oil, Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Beeswax, Corn Starch, Potassium Sorbate (0.1 mg/g).

Eye Makeup Remover -Clarins - Gentle Eye Makeup Remover Lotion
Discod 6/14/2011 11:39:00 AM
I find this effective - it does the job in removing my eye makeup without upsetting my eyes. However, I do not wear alot of thick makeup as I once did. I wear a light foundation, little powder, concealer, some shadow, liner & a little mascara. Occasionally I will wear an eye base as well and this product removes most traces of it all, and it does it gently. I have tried other eye makeup removers (Pharmacy & supermarket lines) but keep returning to this product.

Self Tanners -Clarins - Liquid Bronze
Discod 6/14/2011 11:17:00 AM
Perfect face tanner & I have trialed many of them over the years with this one coming out tops every time. Can't ask for more: it tans up quite nicely (looks natural to me), does not irritate nor sting my sensitive skin and moisturises my dry face all at the same time. I don't really even need to add extra moisturiser during the day (and that's saying something with my very dry skin). The only place I don't apply it is near my eyes, there I apply a Day/Night or Eye cream, always. When I also apply makeup ontop of it, the foundation goes on smoothly with no pilling. :). Has a mild tanning-product scent and a full sized 125ml bottle lasts and lasts. Only need to use a little every few days in Winter, and perhaps once a day in Summer. Product weight is like a lotion, but not too runny, it's easy to apply. It actually saves me on Day moisturiser when I use it. I've used this both day & night after cleansing with no problems. When I use it at night, I wait a while after application to allow it to settle in and then apply a Night cream over the top. No streaking on my skin either but I exfoliate once a week. Not oily or greasy - like I said: perfect! 5/5

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Nivea Creme
Discod 6/13/2011 1:05:00 PM
I'm not crazy about this cream/creme, however, I always have a small tin on hand (75ml tin Made in Germany version). My Mother uses this on her face & hands, and has done so since her teens. She has fabulous skin, hardly a line (she's 69yo, looks much younger) it works for her. However, it's just not my "cup of tea". I use it on my face only if it gets very irritated by the elements or flares up because of another product. Nivea cream seems to calm it down very fast even if I have peeled - it's very effective in doing this for me. It almost neutralises my skin whilst protecting it with a watery seal. Very strange cream and behaves like no other product I've tried. Sometimes (rarely) I will use it over another cream to kind of seal it in. But that's it for me. I don't feel it moisturises particularly well, not on any deep level, nor does it feel nice on my very dry skin. I always think of this cream as the 'great pretender' lol Anyway, it feels kind of wet and uncomfortable. Having said that though, I will always have a tin and continue buying it for years to come as there is nothing like it for what I use it for. Packaging of huge tubs & dinky little flat tins kind of suck, but I suppose this type of texture may be difficult in a pump.

Treatments -Clinique - Repairwear Lift Firming Day Cream SPF 15--Dry to Very Dry Skin
Discod 6/13/2011 12:32:00 PM
I don't mind the formula, although I'm certainly not crazy about it either. It sort of sits on my skin, is very slippery and did not really moisturise it either. Just left it super shiny and not much else. I did not think it penetrated the skin at all. It's not creamy, it's what I would term greasy. But my main gripe about this cream is that it STUNG my eyes like crazy - had to remove it. For the 2nd application I kept it well away from my eyes, but it still affected them :( ... it may very well be the SPF in it as I am senstive to that, but still, this cream basically unusable for me. How can one use a face cream and keep it completely away from the eyes all day? Impossible and therefore useless for me. I have not had the chance to apply makeup over this as yet, so can't honestly comment on it, but I imagine it would slip & slide right off it. I'm quite disappointed in Clinique creams recently, as this is the 2nd cream of theirs of late that has been a great waste of money for me. These 2 duds have surprised me because their DDML for Very Dry to Dry skin is a great product.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Repairwear Lift Firming Night Cream
Discod 6/13/2011 12:05:00 PM
I have this in the "Very Dry to Dry". The scent and the packaging are all just fine, but the cream is awful. Leaves a sticky & uncomfortable residue soon after application (almost tight and feels mask-like) on my skin. Then, after a few short minutes it just turns into little gel-like balls and pills off my skin. For a "Dry to Very Dry" formula it fails to hydrate and moisturise. Very disappointed with this considering the price. I expected more from Clinique as I adore their DDML for Very Dry to Dry skin.

Lip Treatments -Avon - Beyond Colour Plumping Lip Conditioner with Retinol SPF 15
Discod 6/12/2011 11:18:00 AM
I don't know about actual "Lip Plumpling" but it certainly does condition. I use it overnight as part of my night routine or at home during the day when my lips are dry and in need a bit of conditioning. It remoistens my lips moreso than a just gloss or ordinary lipstick would do anyway. If I use it on chapped lips overnight, the next day my lips are great and back to being smooth and "normal" again. What I don't like about this product is that it tends to whiten my lips, so I would not wear it out alone for this reason as I look a bit ghoulish. It's better than Vaseline though as it's not as messy nor as tacky, so I would probably buy again. Really nice silver and gold lipstick casing. 1 lippy off because it has the unnatural whitish colour in it, this would be better clear in my opinion. Edited to add: I have found a fantastic use for this. I use it as a base for nude lip or under a light coloured lipstick where I want the colour to show more. The white in it cancels out most of the pigmentation in my lips as well as being a good moist base for the lip colour. :) I am upgrading from 4/5 to 5/5 for this product now.

Lip Gloss -L'Oreal - Bare Naturale Gentle Lip Conditioner
Discod 6/12/2011 10:59:00 AM
I love this funny little lip gloss. I have it in Soft Blush and I find myself reaching for it more often than not to put on bare lips and also to go over Nude lipsticks. It does not change the colour or texture of my lipsticks either, just adds a nice sheen to them. It's neither brown, pink nor peach, a real nothing colour actually. Funny little tube - I twist it 2 or 3 times and that gives me enough to cover my lips. Smooth in texture and no obvious sparkles. Not much staying power, but not many glosses do really. 4/5 because of the small size & funky packaging - I'd give it 5/5 if it was larger & was in better packaging. That said I will repurchase because it's cheap, the colour is perfect & it does the job better than many glosses do! :)

Treatments -Avon - ANEW Ultimate Age Repair Cream Night
Discod 6/12/2011 10:47:00 AM
I had the same reaction & experience as another on here with this product - it smells just awful, off, but not only that it stung and burnt my skin. As this was the only product I'd changed in my routine that day I can safely say that this is what did it. I washed it off immediately, but even so my chin skin actually peeled off the next day. :( Not for sensitive skins and the only actual "repairing" that happened was what I had to do AFTER this cream had done it's damage! It has a caustic ingredient/s in it I think. *bin*

Moisturizers -Shiseido - Benefiance Revitalizing Cream
Discod 6/12/2011 9:03:00 AM
Oh goodness this product smells so strong, and I feel bad even writing this, but it smells like STONG cat pee ... yes, I am serious. Eewww ... even so, I put it on my face *winces* OK so this is probably the most slippery/greasy moisturising cream I have ever used, BUT, even for my very dry skin it was serious overkill. I DO love a rich cream and I really wanted to love this cream, but it is so darn over-the-top. It's like a combination of oil, Nivea cream and Vaseline all rolled up together multiplied by 2! Left my face so slippery and shiny. The texture felt uncomfortable on my skin and to be honest it did not hydrate that well I don't think. Bottom line is it's far too greasy. I want a cream to leave my skin moist and hydrated, even some oil residue is OK, but not this greasy feeling. I used it as a Night cream (can't imagine using this for Day nor under Makeup). I get more value from pure organic oils. And that Eau-d'-cat-pee pong it never really goes away! I have used it 2 nights, I will give it a 3rd night, just to give it a fair go, but honestly don't think my opinion of this product will change. I will also try it after a facial as it may be good for that. If my rating or opinion changes I will revise this review. So for now it's 2/5.

Moisturizers -Unlisted Brand - John Plunkett Super Wrinkle Cream - Intensive Night Nourishing Cream
Discod 6/12/2011 7:10:00 AM
This is marketed for "Dry and Mature Skin" types - and I think this is correct. It is part of John Plunkett's "Essential" Range of skin care. My skin is dry (to very dry) and somewhat sensitive to many products & the elements also. I am currently on the search for a very moisturising Night cream and thought I'd give this a try after testing it at a Priceline store. I am currently trialling a number of creams as my HG Day & Night creams were reformulated grrrr . Anyway, I will review them on here as I go. The packaging of this product is fairly ordinary - 50g white plastic jar, with blue screw top lid. The cream itself is what I would call a medium weight with a nice perfume, it's a pleasent cosmetic scent and certainly did not bother me nor over-power. The cream itself is whitish/creamish, very smooth, creamy, easily absorbed by the skin, but not totally absorbed immediately - this is important to me as I need some product left on the skin overnight so I don't dry out by morning. Although having said this, it's not quite my HG of Night creams (as the Old Formula Olay Provital Night once was) as I don't feel it's quite rich/moist enough to last the entire night through. I had high hopes for it as it's everthing I look for in a night product, but it's not ~quite~ enough. I think it could be better if made thicker myself. However, over Vitamin E oil or similar oil it is just "good enough", and that's more than I can say for most - especially considering it's now Winter in Australia and my skin literally drinks most moisturisers like they are little more than just water. It did not irritae my skin, did not sting and my skin felt comfortably moist after application. It is resonably priced - about AU$23.00 and I will use it all (and probably repurchase unless I find something better). I'd say it will perform better as a Summer night cream though and perhaps could be a good Day cream for my skin in Winter. I have not tried it under makeup as yet, when I do I will come back and Edit my Review. :) I could not find the complete ingredients list, but here is what I pulled off the JP Website: - INNOVATIVE ACTIVE INGREDIENTS: •Unisteron Y-50: Natural phytosteroids from extracts of soya and wild yam are able to mimic the positive effects on the skin as Estrogen and Progesterone which decrease as you age. Provides a dramatic improvement in the feel and look of dry or mature skin. Shown to: increase elasticity by 29%, increase hydration levels by 23%, decrease roughness by 24%, smooth wrinkles by 30% and increase surface lipid content 22 times. •Argireline, Palmitoyl oligopeptide, Palmitoyl tetrapeptide-3: Peptides promote your skin’s production of collagen to firm and support the skin. •Hyaluramine-100: Able to bind 1800 times its own weight in water to increase hydration. •Vitamin C + Vitamin E: Antioxidant vitamins neutralise environmental stress. •Elastin CLR, Collagen CLR: Solubilised dermoproteins which help restore firmness and elastisity to skin. ====================================== 4/5 from me. :)
