Treatments -SKII - Facial Treatment Essence
rated 2 of 5

I started using the SKII exclusively about a week ago and I am happy to say that it actually helped control my oily acne prone skin. I was skeptical to say the least. I tried alot of products and nothing would control the oil slicks throughout the day. I would use around 4 - 6 oil blotting paper a day. I use the cleansing oil, then the clear difference treatment toner on a cotton pad for toner, after that I put some of the essence on two fingers and quickly start applying to my face. Since it is a liquid, it is hard to apply without using a cotton pad, however the SA informed me that I would waste more product putting it on a pad and would not reap all the benefits of the essense by wiping it across my face. You can also put some in the palms of your hand and apply, however this technique works best for me. It absorbs very quickly into the skin. I especially like that there are no artifical fragrance or colorings in there products. I am quite sure that I am having good results because I am using the regimen instead of just one or two products but I must say, I am kinda in awe that my skin is looking clearer, brighter and I am not self concious of having an oily complection like I was. I can't say if there are exclusive anti aging benefits specifically for this product but every SA will tell you that it is the heart of the line. So far so good. UPDATE: Well I guess I spoke to soon, all of sudden in the last two days I began to get little bright red bumps on my forhead. I noticed and increase in little whiteheads alongside my nose too. I guess it is from this line because when I try a new brand, I try it exclusively to make sure I can use it before I strart mix and matching. I was so hopefull. I thought this stuff was going to be my oily skin godsent. Back to the drawing board.

Skincare - Face -Ojon - tawaka tribal rejuvenating cream [DISCONTINUED]

This is suppose to be a multi purpose product. You are suppose to be able to use this as a deep conditoner (had to use a ton of it), moisturizer for the face (I have oily skin and this made it much worse) for the body (works good but less expensive lotions I have tried work just as well). The best thing I found to do with this stuff is take a very little bit and rub in hands and then rub it thru the bottome of my hair when it is dry to smooth out any fly aways and protect it from getting frizzy later in the day.

Recieved a sample from Sephora, nothing but sticky grease for me. It was thick and oily. Time consuming mess that did nothing but leave my hair flat.

Excellent conditoner for dry colored treated hair. I get my comb thru with hardly a snag. It is a great product. Leaves hair silky without being greasy or flat. I have that problem with Fekkia but this shampoo and conditoner is wonderful. Pricey but worth it if you need a good thirst quencher for your hair. Much better that the treatment in this line. The SA at Sephora gave me some to try as a treatment conditioner and the product did nothing.

Shampoo -Ojon - Tawaka Rejuvenating Shampoo [DISCONTINUED]

This stuff is great for dry/color treated hair. It is kind of thin and runny so to speak. When you squeeze it out, make sure you have your hand coupled so that you don't waste it because it sure is pricey. It is sulfate free and cleans very well and if you use the conditioner with it, your have is tangle and frizz free. I do not use it everyday. I always use 2 sets of shampoo & conditioner. This set is my "heavy duty" moisture set and then I use a set that is not so heavy. This is the only shampoo & conditioner from this company I like. The other ones do nothing but make my hair one big knot. I only tried this because the girl at Sephora was recommending it and said I could return it if it did not meet my expectations.

Skincare - Face -Estee Lauder - Advanced Night Repair - Protective Recovery Complex
rated 4 of 5

This concentrate is such an improvement over the original. I did not notice any change in my skin with the regular Advanced Night, except for maybe moisture. When I tried this version, I was quite impressed. It did soothe, refresh and hydrate, without beinging sticky. In just a few nights my skin did appear more even toned and soft. Only problem was that I did start to get a few whiteheads here and there. I do have oily/acne prone skin but loved the "freshness" this product gave to my face. I began experimenting and found that the best way for me to incorporate this into my regimen was to use this serum only on nights after I did an exfoiliating scrub or peel. It soothes on contact and my skin just drinks it up. I then lightly put my nightcream on over that. The next day my face looks polished and refreshed. When I first bought this product, the seasons were changing and my skin was flacking and irritated. This did wonders. I can never last the full two weeks without some pimples. So I am glad I found a way to use this because it is a godsent for irritation.

Mascara -Givenchy - Eye Fly

I am obsessed with mascara. I absolutely love this mascara for everyday. It gives you length without clumps. You can even reapply later in the day without it looking to thick or fake. If you like long dark lashes that look soft, try this and you will not be disappointed. This product also does not flake off. It wears extremely well. UPDATE: I am very disappointed that this tube is all dried up already! I used it everyday for like 2 weeks?! Major rip off in my book. Going to try Blackout by Dior or there is always the faithfull Supernova by Fresh. The mascara is a bit thicker but the tube lasted a little over 2 months.

Brows -Givenchy - Brow Prisme
rated 5 of 5

When I first opened this product I was disappointed. I was not impressed with the colors nor the tiny little tools. I will try anything once. When I began mixing the colors a little and I applied it I was blown away. I am a brunette (at the moment) but my eyebrows are very light, almost blonde. I have an assortment of eyebrow pencils, brow gels, waxes, powders, and everything I tried I could tell that I artificially colored them in. This to me, looks very natural. I don't know what it is about these powders, but the softly pigment the brows without looking powdery, chalky or drawn in. Although the tools are difficult to work with, the brushes are the perfect size to fill in the brows exactly where you want the product and without applying too thick. Although it is quite pricey at $51, it will last and last. With any shade of hair color you have, you can mix up the powders to match. I adore the compact, it is very chic.

Skincare - Face -Elemis - All

If you have sensitive skin or any allergies to certain ingredients, please beware of the skin care line. I tried the Tri-Enzyme Resurficing Program along with the Apricot Soothing Toner (smelled horrible by the way, like candy that has been in Grandma's purse way too long), skinbuff exfoiliator, Pro Collagen Eye Cream, Skincream, and Bright Eyes Eye Serum. Where do I begin with this nightmare. At first I was in bliss when I first went out on this splurge of luxurious products. I spent $625 even with a 15% off discount and did not care. In my mind I thought I was going to be the cats meow. Yeah right. First the skin around my eyes became tight and felt sensitive, next day it hurt to look around the skin became bright red and burned as if someone rubbed salt all around my eyes. I even strarted to get blisters. My face started off OK the serum and night cream are suppose to GENTLY resurface the skin to address wrinkles, large pores, acne scarring, all that good stuff. I felt dry and tight yet my skin was like an oil slick. Greasy is an under statement. My face felt wet yet irritated. I looked red and began to get a rash of little bumps along my hairline and started to feel these humungo pimples begining to surface. The extra large cystic kind. I was told by some SA that whenever you change skin care lines you could experience some kind of breakout or irritation, but only for a very short period until your skin gets use to the new products. Not in my case. I kept on using them expecting to be like the ugly duckling that will wake up the next morning as a beautiful swan. I really wanted this line work. I was under the impression that they were elegant, elite products that had proven results. I gave up after the 2nd week. I had 5 huge cystic pimples and I could no longer stand the oil, the redness and unbelievable tightness my face never felt so painful. I did not have any pimples and was in good shape before I tried this line and left me in tears. I contact the company that I purchased the products from and they said send them back. I boxed them all up and when I was reading my invoice, discovered that there is a 15% restocking fee on all returns. Restocking fee???? It is not posted on their website anywhere. It says they want you to be happy with your purchase and they accept returns within 30 days. Even when I called and expressed how much I wanted to love this stuff and I how horrible my face now looked and felted they never even told me. If I did not happen to notice on the back of my invoice in the fine print, I would not have known. If you order from time to spa, be aware.

Moisturizers -Elemis - Elemis Pro Collagen Marine Cream
rated 3 of 5
ChrisRobb 10/18/2007 12:50:00 PM

This product is a good moisturizer for very dry skin. I have oily/combination and this clogged my pores. I just had a very bad experience with the Elemis product line. If you are acne prone and are having a dry spell due to changes in the weather etc.. try another cream. This one gave me large cystic pimples and I do not usually get them. The cream is better for someone who does not have the occasional breakout. It felt like it did not sink in to me skin. I felt greasy all day. I did not use it long enough to notice any anti-aging benefits.

Treatments (Eye) -Chanel - Sublimage Eye
rated 5 of 5
ChrisRobb 8/23/2007 11:35:00 AM

I am do love this eye cream. I am already more than half way thru my 2nd jar. It does a remarkable job of keeping the eye feeling moisturized all day long. My concealer goes on very smooth. It also has light reflecting properties to slightly alleviate darkness. It firms without that feeling of tightness. I can honestly say that it has improved the little fine lines as well. I have been obsessed with eye creams since I was a teenager, and this one is a goody. Especially if you are looking for moisture. I was disappointed with the face cream due to the fact that I have a constant battle with acne and after I had been using the cream for a few weeks it did cause me to get some blemishes. They do not sell Sublimage in any malls that are close to me and I ordered it straight from Chanel. They include samples, accept returns and do not charge tax in most states.
