New hand cream from the fine folks at LUSH. Not sure if it replaces "Helping Hands", but this is fabulous. Comes in the same small container as Helping Hands (dammit folks, you gotta get your packaging better!!!), and it makes my hands feel like silk. Smell is quite mild and the consistency is smoother and more "pudding" like than Helping Hands is/was. Me likey!!! ;-)
Purchased this from Sephora in San Francisco over the weekend and this is great stuff. Comes in two shades, a light and a dark. Kinda sparkly but not overly so, nothing you'd have to wait to use for strictly evening wear. First usage for me was over my foundation and it gave me a nice smooth canvas to work with. Second usage was blended in with foundation and it works equally as well applied like that. A good investment; I purchased the lighter shade, but would definitely buy the darker to fake a tan during spring/summer. A winner.
Bought a tube over the weekend at Sephora. The display was empty, but fortunately I'm such a regular customer that I know where to look. I opened the drawer and the was an entire box of 'em. I was fortunate enough as well to have a good friend give me her Orgasm blush, as it doesn't do anything for her complexion. What a beautiful combination! Now, peachy, orangey colors aren't something I normally wear; I'm blonde, blue eyes, fair skinned and my color is a mauvey brown and I'm definitely a cool color girl. I kept noticing though that I just looked pretty with this combination; it was a light, different, glowy look for me. I used the lipgloss yesterday over a fawn brown lipstick and it was incredibly attractive. Would definitely buy again.
Just purchased this new product from Marshall Fields. It's for mature skin (like mine) and contains wild yam and soy, among other things. I've only been using it for a couple of days, but the skin on my body feels like silk. This stuff (on me) is not greasy, does not sit on my skin, but sinks in and stays around. Has the "Classic" Absolue fragrance - kinda citrusy, very light. My one complaint is in the packaging - a heavier-than-you know what GLASS jar. This thing could be used as a weapon or a cannonball when not being used as a body cream jar! So, I think Lancome went a little overboard here; I would rather see a great cream packaged in a more environmentally and bathroom friendly container; I'm sure it also drives up the price of the product (a hefty $98, thank you very much), although it does look classy on the bathroom shelf. The SA was very generous I have to say; there was a choice of GWP available and she gave me both because I spent so much $$ on ONE PRODUCT.
Hair -John Frieda - Sheer Blonde Crystal Clear Hairspray
Brookie 12/23/2004 8:03:00 PM
This has been my only hairspray for a couple of years now. Agree with many that it is a good basic spray, but what I like about it is that my hair does look shiny and healthy and it's not sticky as all getout. My hair is still flexible enough to run my hands through it. The price is right too. Will continue to repurchase.
Have been using this for about a month now. What a sexy, feminine, floral fragrance. AND, the best part, it lingers on my skin after I put body cream on (usually Dream Cream or Sympathy for the Skin). Just an allover wonderful experience. Be sure to shake up the bottle before you use it to enfuse it with the honey (which has a tendency to sink to the bottom). Now, all we need to complete the experience is some Flying Fox body cream.
Tried this stuff for the 1st time this morning. Yum. A pretty, feminine, floral fragrance. More jasmine to my nose than honey. Glad I purchased the ginormous bottle (wish I'd done that with the Skinny Dip too, but I sure will in the future). Recommended if you tend to like sweeter fragrances. AND, I could still smell the jasmine after applying Dream Cream. An absolute repurchase.
Sorry, this smells like drugstore cheap & cheezy guy cologne to me. No thanks. Try D&G "Feminine"; totally different, sweeter smell. Much more me.
I love this stuff. Just purchased the gigunga bottle of it because I ran out too fast with the smaller size. This makes my hair soft, smooth and full of body. Use about 3 times weekly followed by Marilyn conditioner (I know you're supposed to use it before you shampoo, but who has time to do THAT in the morning? Not me.). Will be buying this again.
Cleansers -Johnson & Johnson - Nourishing Milk Bath
Brookie 11/10/2004 11:04:00 AM
I use this every morning to wash my face (and sometimes other parts!) in the shower. It's totally not drying (I have normal to dry skin) and it feels and smells great. Can't complain too much about Johnson & Johnson products; they're made for sensitive baby skin, but they're great for us sensitive adults too.
Moisturizers -Christian Dior - Capture R60/80 Nuit (Enriched Wrinkle Night Creme)
Brookie 11/2/2004 7:45:00 PM
Have used this since last Friday's makeover at the CD counter at Marshall Fields and my skin feels and looks like silk in the morning. Have been using LUSH's Afterlife, which I still love, but this is my new HG of night creams. Not the cheapest cream in town by far, but I believe in taking care of my skin as I won't get a second chance if I blow this one. Highly recommend and would repurchase again. Comes with a cute clear plastic scoop for those who prefer not to finger the product.
Lotions/ Creams -Olay - Moisturinse in shower body lotion-extra dry skin
Brookie 11/2/2004 7:32:00 PM
Desperately wanted to love this, as I like other products in the Olay lineup. I never shower without doing the body lotion thing after, so I thought this would save me some time. Really don't see the point here. I, like several others on this board, just had to have this so I ordered from the web before the product was available in stores. Scent isn't awful, but it's not great either. Will stick with great soap and body lotion.
Lip Gloss -Christian Dior - Diorkiss - 318 - Praline
Brookie 11/2/2004 7:10:00 PM
Purchased some recently from CD counter at Marshall Fields. Nice color, a little sticky, but it lasts. Goes well alone for a casual look or over lipstick for more formal or dressy occasions. Wish I wasn't so hooked on CD products. My wallet is annoyed! ;)
Tried this morning after receiving my on-line order from LUSH. Yum! Rich, creamy and highly fragranced. I have been smelling this all day (it's now after 6pm) and it's lovely. Feminine, spicy; the drydown fragrance on me was almost the smell of leaves in autumn. Used with the Karma bubble bar; my bathroom still smells fabulous (as do I!!). If you like spicy fragrances, this is for you. Will repurchase again.
Have been using this for about a week now since I bought it at a Body Shop home party. I am 51, have normal skin with a tendency on the dry side. I love this cleanser. My skin feels clean and soft when I'm done rinsing this off prior to moisturizing. Will definitely repurchase. AND, it really DOES foam, but not a lot. If you're looking for Mr. Bubble, this ain't it!
