Treatments -Joico - k-pak deep penetrating reconstructor
rated 4 of 5

I would recommend this, but personally I don't feel it achieved HG status with me. My hair feels alright after using but still a little dry. I saw much more promising results after using Enjoy's Hair Mask, but when it comes to drugstore reconstructors I believe this is as good as it gets. It smells great and the price isn't astronomical. Joico is a reliable brand and none of their products have left me disappointed.

Lipstick -New York Color - Ultra Moist Lip Wear Retro Red 308B
rated 5 of 5
BlondeCaptivation 9/24/2010 3:37:00 PM

Very impressive drugstore find! This is a bright, vibrant, orange-based red that goes on rather shiny and moisturizes well. For $1 honestly how can you go wrong? NYC actually has a nice line of lipsticks and "Retro Red" is certainly no exception, I would recommend to anyone who is a fan of the bombshell look :)

Conditioner -Aussie - Moist Conditioner
rated 5 of 5
BlondeCaptivation 9/24/2010 3:27:00 PM

Love this conditioner! For the (extremely low) price, you get a *huge* bottle, for starters. The smell is divine, someone said vanilla cupcakes and I concur. The consistency is THICK, this isn't one of those let's-see-how-much-water-we-can-sneak-in drugstore conditioners. And it does what it's supposed to. My bleached blonde hair (which hasn't received a proper trim in an unmentionable length of time) felt AMAZING after using this. I now use this once a week, switching off with my Enjoy hair mask (HG product, btw). You can't beat the price, and wow, what results. It'll last forever too. Three cheers for Aussie :)

Treatments -Joico - K-Pak Leave In Protectant
rated 5 of 5
BlondeCaptivation 9/24/2010 3:21:00 PM

This is truly amazing. Now a part of my routine. For the price you get a HUGE bottle, and a little goes a long way, so I'd say it's a good deal. It makes my hair noticeably silkier, easier to manage and I did acknowledge less breakage. It doesn't weigh your hair down, or make it greasy, but the key is to only use one full pump. If you have REALLY long hair, one and a half. A fantastic product.

Styling Products -Nexxus - Heat Protexx
rated 5 of 5
BlondeCaptivation 9/24/2010 3:15:00 PM

Everything they say about this product is true.. I was using John Frieda Heat Defeat for a while before this and there's just no comparison. Heat Protexx NOTICEABLY made my hair feel and look healthier within 1-2 weeks of using it, it's now up there with my other HGs, Enjoy's Hair Mask and Joico's K-Pak Leave-In.. With that said, let me advise you that the trick is to use it consistently and evenly over all your hair, sectioning it off is a good idea. The packaging is great, no complaints here. Will definitely be purchasing again. And again.

Treatments -ENJOY - Hair Mask
rated 5 of 5
BlondeCaptivation 9/24/2010 3:08:00 PM

I'm only going to say this once: If you only buy one more hair product in your life, let it be this. I call it my hidden treasure because the packaging is hideous and dated-looking but what's in it is more valuable than gold :) My hair was ravaged from years upon years of bleaching it platinum Gwen Stefani blonde and I was getting breakage, split ends galore, even some fallout. Over the past year, I brought it back from the brink using this mask weekly along with two other products (Joico K-Pak leave-in and Nexxus Heat Protexx), but most of the glory goes to this mask I believe. The trick is to leave it in for at least 25 minutes. Take it from someone who has been to depths of hair trauma and recovered.. this one is a miracle!

Lip Gloss -Smashbox - Lipgloss - Smashing Pout
rated 5 of 5
BlondeCaptivation 9/24/2010 2:49:00 PM

This is a pale shade that looks amazing with smoky eyes. It's a very light, milky bubblegum pink. Will it wash you out? Perhaps. Honestly it's not a color everyone's going to enjoy but it is pretty. The packaging is good, no leakage. The price is maybe a little high for what you're getting, but if pink glosses are your thing, you can't go wrong here.

Blush -NARS - Angelika
rated 5 of 5
BlondeCaptivation 9/24/2010 2:41:00 PM

Although I have to give this a 5 because I love it, I will acknowledge that "Angelika" won't be everyones' cup of tea. This is as true a pink blush as pink gets, with tons of shimmer and no shortage of pigment. If you're not careful the look is absolutely clownish in natural lighting. If done right, you get a very feminine and attractive set of pink cheeks :)

Blush -NARS - Amour
rated 5 of 5
BlondeCaptivation 9/24/2010 2:36:00 PM

As many have commented, "Amour" is a color that looks beautiful with varying skin tones. My skin goes from pale to tan to pale again very easily and I've discovered that this blush looks amazing regardless. It's great for daytime or night, as well. I'd describe it as a deep coral with a hint of rosyness, no shimmer included. I know "Orgasm" is the holy grail blush of MUA, and don't get me wrong I love that one too, but "Amour" is as close to a personal HG blush as I've ever gotten, 2 thumbs up!

Lipstick -NARS - Blonde Venus
rated 5 of 5
BlondeCaptivation 9/24/2010 2:25:00 PM

This is so fabulous :) Probably my favorite lipstick ever because it's natural enough for a simple daytime look but also looks great paired with smoky eyes for nighttime. It's basically a very neutral pale peachy brown that goes on so as to add just the slightest amount of color. It also moisturizes very well and adds a slight shine. I'd say it looks even better with a pale brown lip liner, but I'm a lip liner fanatic so I'd say that about anything :) Definitely a must-have.

Lipstick -NARS - Barbarella
rated 5 of 5
BlondeCaptivation 9/22/2010 6:12:00 PM

I love Nars despite their reputation as being an overpriced brand, and the one area they excel in like no other is nude or peachy hues. "Barbarella" is really no exception. It looks quite pigmented but goes on a rather natural-looking peach color and can really be worn with anything on any occasion, a very versatile shade. For the price it better be! But I have no complaints, and aside from "Blonde Venus" this is maybe my favorite Nars product I've bought.

Lip Gloss -NARS - Turkish Delight
rated 4 of 5
BlondeCaptivation 2/6/2009 8:20:00 PM

This gloss strongly resembles Smashbox's "Pout" gloss, although slightly peachier and less sticky. Sometimes people complain about sticky lipgloss, but I think it's a good thing because it always lasts longer. In this case, you can't beat the color- it's very sexy IF you aren't pale (it washes pale people out, I'm sure), but unfortunately it isn't very long-lasting, and for the price you'd think it would be. However, I find the color unique enough (it's a *natural* looking pale pink, because it's more peach-tinted than purple) that I would certainly purchase again.

Lip Liners -NARS - Fantasia
rated 4 of 5
BlondeCaptivation 2/6/2009 8:10:00 PM

I would definitely buy this again, because it goes well with my skin tone and pretty much any lipstick/gloss I wear, it's the kind of liner that can be worn day or night, it's so versatile. NARS products tend to be high quality, and this is no exception, but in this economy, or ANY economy (lol), I find their prices kind of steep, which is why I gave this a 4 rating. Would recommend.

Fragrances -Jaqua Girls - Pink Buttercream Frosting Body Mist
rated 5 of 5
BlondeCaptivation 2/6/2009 8:04:00 PM

Maybe I'm being overly generous here (because it's not as long-lasting as most of my other perfumes), but this smells so wonderful I don't really care, I have to give it 5 stars :) Honestly, I get "burnt out" on perfumes/body mists really easily, but this is on an entirely different level and now it's my trademark scent! Definite must-have for anyone who appreciates really sugary, feminine fragrances.
