Fragrances -Coty - Lovely by Sarah Jessica Parker

Hearts and stars for SJP.. but that fragrance.. ew. I got a sample card tester in the mail and I thought it smelled fantastic. When I finally got to macy's and my friend tried a few spritzes, I couldn't believe how bad it was. It totally did smell like a hairspray.. a gross 99 cent store hairspray. I was so pissed. Yes, SJP looked flipping hot in the ad, but the frag. wasn't anything but an old Avon musk that my grandma has brewing in her closet.

Liquid -L'Oreal - infallible never fail makeup
rated 3 of 5
BeautyFiend1976 8/8/2005 1:47:00 AM

I was totally excited to see that L'Oreal came out with a new foundation, especially one that claimed to stay on ALL day! I had been using a plethora of different foundations including: Benefit's Non-Fiction, Laura Mercier, Biotherm, Maybelline, Cover Girl.. so many brands with close calls to finding H.G. material. My skin is super oily and prone to breakouts, and although none of the aforementioned foundations broke me out, there was no staying power. I am beginning to think that liquid foundation isn't for me, but powder tends to turn to dough on my face by mid-day. I am happy with the Infallible foundation, which you do have to shake up very well before each use, but around 3pm, my face looks like crap. My oils are worse than ever. I think this product tries to stay on sooo hard that the pores just explode because they can't breathe. I love the way I look when I first apply the foundation, so I am giving it three stars. I can't decide whether or not I want to give it away in swap or keep using it. I haven't broken out from it, so that's a really good sign. I think it's worth the try, the color was perfect on me. I think my next foundation adventure will be with Chanticelle (spelling?)

Loose Powders -BeneFit Cosmetics - Bluff Dust
rated 4 of 5
BeautyFiend1976 8/8/2005 1:32:00 AM

New from Benefit! August 2005. Bluff dust!!! From the website: Our silky, loose, yellow dusting powder neutralizes unwanted signs of pink or redness & warms the complexion. This is the perfect powder to help reduce the appearance of discoloration or hyperpigmentation... it's the perfect finishing touch to set your makeup. To apply, tap a small amount of powder into the lid, then tap your powder brush or puff in to the lid. Dust on powder lightly in an outward and downward direction starting with the center of the face. Velvety puff included for medium to heavy application... use the bluff puff brush or any powder brush for lighter coverage. bluff dust: $22.00. Ok.. so I was scared of this product because of it's bright as F*&^ coloring. I didn't want to look as if I had liver disease or old Yeller. So, the day the powder came out, I popped one open and checked it out with the new Bluff kabuki brush. Well, I was impressed. My oiliness was instantly gone and my splotchy face had become a warm candlelit glow. Very lightweight in texture and not as yellow as I thought, this powder is perfect for me. I have a few red areas on my face, but not too bad. I have seen this product cover rosaciea in an instant and red cheeks disappear. I love this stuff! Some people didn't like the yellowness and I couldn't tell if this was going to look good on most people. I suggest trying this out in a store before buying online. I really think it makes a huge difference, but you will have to see what color it will turn on you when applied. Please use the Bluff brush, not the stupid puff it comes with. Post your reviews!!!!

Eye Shadow -MAC - Sunplosion
rated 4 of 5
BeautyFiend1976 7/26/2005 12:43:00 AM

I was very pleased with this new Veluxe Pearl shadow from MAC! It's smooth and didn't crease on me at all. The color is exactly like the cream shadow from Benefit called " Big Kahuna ".. I love them both! I even tried wearing both and it came out a very pretty dark orange with tons of shimmer. Try putting this shade over a shadestick for fun! I used Crimsonaire.. awesome coral color!

Makeup Brushes -Maybelline - Eyeshadow Brush
rated 4 of 5
BeautyFiend1976 7/11/2005 4:18:00 AM

I had NO idea that anybody even owned this brush but me! I actually found a makeup bag years ago with a ton of MAC makeup and various brushes inside. One of those brushes was this exact Maybelline one! Surprisingly for the price is very effective; I use it to apply my base colors and bottom lid colors. It works pretty good with loose shadows too. I have had the brush for MANY years and it looks brand new to this day. I know for sure it was used a lot when I found it. Only God knows how old this brush is. I really do suggest this brush to beginners and people on a budget.

Liquid -BeneFit Cosmetics - I Am Rebel
rated 4 of 5
BeautyFiend1976 7/4/2005 1:45:00 AM

Now called "You Rebel", because I guess " I Am Rebel " sounded very, uh, Tarzanesque? Anyway, Rebel has been reformulated to be less orange and a little more luminous. It's great stuff! It's designed to even out red skintones, looks fabulous on those with roseasea (sp?) and other skin problems that cause redness or discoloration. Not sure if all of the stores have the new formula yet, pretty sure nobody noticed it but me!!! I am very fair skinned and I noticed right away that the texture and color was different than before. It's dewy look comes from the SPF 15, so you need to set it with powder. Give it a try, it won't kill you.

Lip Gloss -Estee Lauder - Pure Color Gloss- Ginger Fizz
rated 2 of 5
BeautyFiend1976 7/4/2005 1:28:00 AM

Runny mess. Gross. The tube looked so sophisticated and pretty, I thought the gloss would be top quality for the price. I found better glosses from NYC, NYX and Wet N Wild. This was totally watery. Pretty color to look at in the tube, though!

Lip Gloss -Lancome - Star Gloss - Corail
rated 4 of 5
BeautyFiend1976 7/4/2005 1:26:00 AM

I saw Drew Barrymore wearing this for the Lancome ad campaign and died. I love this color.. with the pale blue shadow or that peachy/bronze goddess look. Great color! Comes with a brush applicator.

This is a very beautiful color, a very pale pink/purple with a hint of shimmer. I like the texture and the smell! Looks great with MAC Pink Plaid and Snob lipsticks. I am obsessed with pale pinks this season!

Hair -Jerome Russell - Punky Color
rated 5 of 5
BeautyFiend1976 7/4/2005 1:18:00 AM

Just started using the color RED WINE and I LOVE LOVE LOVE it. It starts out as a very bright fuschia red then gradually (very gradually) fades to a pink red. It doesn't fade much at all with the use of Pureology hydrate shampoo. I left this one on for about 5 or 6 hours and then rinsed out, using a conditioner. I didn't wash for about 4 days to make sure the color was going to stay. The best color I've used from this brand yet!!

Tinted Moisturizer -Biotherm - Aquasource Teinte tinted moisturizer
rated 4 of 5
BeautyFiend1976 5/11/2005 4:03:00 AM

I am oily and prone to breakouts and this works for me! I use the Pale color and it's not too yellow or orange or green like most of the others I've tried. It's just the right color for my fair skin and it's not even oily! No shiney look, and great coverage. I've used Bobbi Brown in the past because of the great feedback on this site and I was really unhappy with the results of that particular product... just because Bobbi Brown is more popular, it gives people the idea that it's better.. WRONG. Biotherm has always been great for people with sensitive skin, and I will keep using this (I am on my 3rd tube) and hopefully it will not be discontinued. I do, however, think that the Almay Sport Tinted Moisturizer is better than this one, but the colors are too dark for me.

Scrubs -BeneFit Cosmetics - Bionic Blast [DISCONTINUED]
rated 4 of 5
BeautyFiend1976 5/9/2005 1:09:00 AM

Blast off the crud! I am a waxing victim every month or so, I get the big Brazillian wax job and also my legs and arms get waxed every few weeks. I always get bumps if I don't exfoliate really good and I haven't had luck with body scrubs in the past because of irritation issues. I was afraid to use Bionic blast because of the scrubbies, but I really do enjoy this product and no irritation! I think it works best if you squirt some out onto one of those bath puff things, or the Benefit Wonder Mitt, which hasn't come to stores yet, but I imagine it will work great. .It lathers up like a soap and you scrub away the ingrown hairs. It's really worth it and the tube is BIG! Enjoy!

Bronzers -BeneFit Cosmetics - Jiffy Tan [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
BeautyFiend1976 5/6/2005 12:11:00 AM

From Casper the Friendly Ghost to Hot Brazillian Babe! I am NOT a fan of tanning booths, temporary tans from lotions or foams.. so this is perfect for me! It's a WASH off formula that gives you a perfect tan everytime, no guessing to what you are going to look like in a few hours, it's totally instant. My hands turn orange because this product is a stain, so I plan on using gloves next time. It dries, doesn't feel gross when on the skin, doesn't come off on clothes. It does sparkle, which is nice because I need a little glitter here and there! I used this product on my face and it worked out great! I didn't even need to use foundation, I only put concealer on spots that I really needed to hide and dusted a little setting powder over the top. It lasted all day, even when I went to the gym it was still on when I came home. Amazing stuff!

Holy Grail blush! I just purchased this little gem at Walgreen's last night and I HEART IT! I have very pale skin that is oily and I usually have to pile on blush for some reason.. it never shows up good on me! When I popped this little baby on, it showed up and glowed like a mutha! Def. the best drugstore blush ever!
