Eyeliner -Smashbox - limitless eyeliner
Lomelindi 9/20/2010 10:36:00 AM
I'm incredibly surprised there aren't more reviews for this line of eyeliner, because it is my HG liner and I will now never use anything else. I have this eyeliner in "Java" (a dark brown) and I absolutely adore it. This is the first pencil that I've found that can stay on my oily skin AND survive all my dance rehearsals for hours on end AND wash off easily with makeup remover at the end of the day. It's a very soft, creamy liner so there's a few seconds after you apply it where you can blend it out or smudge it. Then it sets and it doesn't budge for the whole day, which is incredible (especially for a pencil)! I always add some powder over it just in case because I'm paranoid that way, but I've literally dragged this eyeliner through hell (vacation, dance rehearsals, lots of sweating) and I never once saw a line on my top or my lower eyelids that wasn't supposed to be there. Also, one version of these pencils comes with a sharpener in the lid, so that was really handy. The only two cons about this liner that I'll point out is that it's very expensive ($18 without the sharpener, $20+ with the sharpener) and, because it's such a soft liner, it wears out really fast. I'm guessing one pencil lasts me an average of maybe two months (barely) of daily use before it's way too short and I have to get a new one.

Lipstick -Sephora - Lip Attitude - Star in Funky Beige 23
Lomelindi 9/20/2010 10:22:00 AM
I thought this was a fantastic, hydrating lipstick in a great (albeit sheer) color! 023 is a warm, somewhat sparkly nude that seemed to be really popular since it was almost sold out compared to the other colors in the Sephora store. I bought it out of sheer curiosity and to my surprise, this was the first nude-ish lipstick that actually worked on me, since I have medium-colored skin and tend to look dead with most 'nude' colors. Since this lipstick is pretty sheer, I would put on a pale lip primper before adding this though; otherwise, people like me who have naturally very rosy lips would just end up with a nice gloss after using this. (On the bright side, it's pretty glossy so it can stand by itself or be layered on top of another lipstick for that purpose.)

Blush -Sephora - Blush Me! in Rose Rebelle
Lomelindi 9/20/2010 9:23:00 AM
This was a beautiful, pale rosey-pink on my skin. I LOVE the texture of this blush, it's super finely-milled, extremely blendable and also very well-pigmented. I've been looking for a rosey-pink hue that won't look ridiculous on me (since I have warm-toned skin and can't use pale pink blushes) and this is definitely it! Also, the packaging is small, thin and easy to carry around. Considering Sephora isn't a drug-store brand, I thought this was a great deal! (I believe it was $12, I could be wrong). NOTE: It seems to oxidize a little over the day so I seem to end up with darker, redder cheeks than I started out with, but it's a faint change. At least I know it doesn't fall off during the rest of the day!

Mascara -Too Faced - LashGasm
Lomelindi 9/19/2010 11:50:00 AM
If it makes sense, I love this mascara but I will no longer be using it. :( (Also, that 3 is more of a 3.5, because this is not a BAD mascara, it just wasn't the one for me.) The first two or three times I applied it, it went on like a dream --it was very creamy, non-clumpy, and made my lashes long AND thick. It also holds very well for an non-waterproof mascara and washed off easily. Then after that, I realized that I was spending a long, long time applying it because the formula was super thick. I often had to put it on my eyelashes, then dab at it with the side of my finger so it didn't give me tarantula lashes. After a few times of doing this, I decided that this simply wasn't worth the effort. It's a good mascara if you have patience and would like to feel pampered, but it does take a while to apply/brush out because it's so thick. Also, I don't feel like it made my lashes as soft as Maybelline's Full n Soft, which is depressing because this one has a ton of vitamins in it. In the end, I decided to return this despite how wonderful it felt on my lashes. I don't have a ton of money to spend on makeup and I ended up with a mascara that required too much maintenance.

Blush -Physicians Formula - POwder Palette Multi-Colored Blush
Lomelindi 9/19/2010 11:44:00 AM
This is a well-rounded and easy-to-use blush, especially for a newbie. I have it in "Natural" (I think that's the name) where it's more of a warm, orangey-rose color. It's not a very pigmented blush but it's super buildable, so it's hard to mess up with since you can control how much you want with each brush stroke. The problems I have with this blush is that it doesn't show up very well in pictures even if it does give me a very nice, natural flush to the naked eye. I'd use a more pigmented blush for photos if that's what you need, but I'm sticking to this blush for every-day use when I go to work or go to class.

Mascara -L'Oreal - Voluminous Waterproof
Lomelindi 9/19/2010 11:29:00 AM
PROS: I love the amount of both length and volume this gives my lashes. I have a decent amount of lashes but the individual strands are thin, so this makes my lashes look both long and full without going overboard. The formula is not as very thick so you can put on multiple layers and not have any clumpy problems. It also separates my lashes very well and while it's not great at holding a curl, it's also not horrible at it. (I'm not sure why people are having issues with flaking considering I have oily skin and this stayed on VERY well all day for me, but maybe it's because my mascara is new.) CONS: Yes, this mascara does have a noticeable, weird smell, but it's just a smell to me and it goes away after application, so I don't consider it a huge problem. Also, this mascara is ridiculously hard to get off (not as hard as Lash Blast Volume, but almost). I have to gently wash once with my normal makeup remover and twice with a weaker one around the eye area. I think that's a bit too tedious, so I'll probably be using this on the rare occasion when I have a party.

Scrubs -St. Ives - Apricot Scrub
Lomelindi 9/17/2010 1:20:00 PM
I don't know how much this helped clear up my skin because I tend to have small breakouts in relation to my menstrual cycle and not so much due to dirty skin, BUT this is still a fantastic scrub! The scrub feels fantastic and leaves my skin noticeably smoother afterwards. It's pretty gentle and doesn't dry out of my skin, but then again, I have oily skin so maybe that's just me. Also, the smell is divine. Yet another great product from St. Ives, they've never failed me before!

Palettes -Too Faced - Natural Eye Kit
Lomelindi 9/17/2010 1:10:00 PM
I actually only use the top trio ("Day") because the latter two are a bit too... shiny to wear around to work or for general day wear, but these eyeshadows are highly pigmented and absolutely gorgeous!! I particularly love the gold eyeshadow in the bottom trio. (Also, here's a sneaky trick: by mixing and matching these eyeshadows, you can also get a great smokey eye and don't have to run out to get Too Faced's OTHER palette specifically for the smokey eye. Unless you really desperately want to or something.) The only thing I'd really nitpick at is that I find the box a bit too big to fit into my makeup box. I appreciate that they give us a small brush and q-tip inside, but really, the box could be a lot thinner. :(

Cleansers -Neutrogena - Fresh Foaming Cleanser
Lomelindi 9/17/2010 12:59:00 PM
This was the first cleanser I ever used, and I keep coming back to it 'cause I never felt the urge to change. It doesn't irritate my skin, I don't mind the smell, and it does a very good job of removing most types of makeup. I sometimes have to wash my eye area a second time to remove all of waterproof mascara, but I don't mind. It works considerably faster than pads do, and it always does an amazing job removing foundation of any kind. Great cleanser!

Mascara -Maybelline - Full 'n' Soft waterproof mascara (vitamin E)
Lomelindi 9/17/2010 9:30:00 AM
This is a great mascara for what it's supposed to do, which is to give you very soft, super-natural-looking lashes with good separation and great length. (I didn't see that much volume, but I only used about two coats. I don't like too much volume anyways so it works for me.) My lashes also felt very soft, which is a bonus because many other mascaras make my lashes feel hard and brittle. On the other hand, even though I mine is waterproof, I found some dust-like flakes on my lower lid at about 7 hours in. Nothing a light brush of a finger or swipe of a brush can't fix, but that was earlier than I expected. On the second day, it happened again, so I don't think I'll be using this mascara for longer than a few hours.

Eyeliner -MAC - Fluidline Eye-Liner Gel in Blacktrack
Lomelindi 9/16/2010 3:59:00 PM
I've had this gel liner for about half a year and it has amazing staying power. I find that it's hard to use with an angled brush because that brush draws a "double line" with this liner, so I use it with the tiniest brush I can find from Sephora stores (the one that looks like it only has a dozen or so bristles). The only con about this gel liner is that a few months in, it's starting to get a liiiittle dry and thus harder to get a smooth line, but it's a minor problem that's probably unavoidable with gel liners and that I've been able to work around with. EDIT: Also, I've noticed that this gel liner isn't as jet black as other ones; it pulls slightly grey in comparison. Taking off a lippie for that.

Concealers -Neutrogena - 3-in-1 Concealer for Eyes
Lomelindi 9/16/2010 3:47:00 PM
I've used this concealer for five years and have yet to find another one that works as well as this one. By now, I've pretty much given up on using any other concealer but this one. (FYI, it also works decently as a face concealer if you dab it carefully over red spots.) I'm Asian so I use this in the "medium" tone (strangely the product's darkest tone, despite not being very dark) and it is PERFECT at everything I want it to do. It covers my dark eye circles well (may not work if you have super dark eye circles though), doesn't dry out my skin, stays all day and looks extremely natural. You really only need a TINY drop the tip of your finger to cover your under-eye area, and it's easy to apply everywhere if you keep dabbing it back and forth. (Don't rub it or smear it on, that's how you create wrinkles.) Best of all, this as some decent SPF in it, so it helps to prevent future wrinkles. :D I'm not a makeup junkie so I rarely wear anything else other than this, but I cannot SURVIVE without this concealer because my dark circles make me paranoid. I've worn this every day throughout my four years of college and am still wearing it into my first year of work. :)

Treatments (Eye) -Burt's Bees - Naturally Ageless Eye Cream
Lomelindi 9/16/2010 3:42:00 PM
I like how this cream feels, smells, applies and sinks into my skin, but I don't think it really did anything after a month of using it. It does give a chilling/tightening sensation after putting it on, but my small wrinkles are still there. It DID seem to help my dark circles, which I didn't really notice it until months later when I realized I was using less of my normal undereye concealer. Overall, it's good as a general eye-area moisturizer and feels wonderful, so I guess I'll keep it for wearing under my makeup. It's a little too expensive for me to buy it again since it doesn't help with anything beyond lightening my undereye bags a bit, but since it's organic and doesn't hurt my skin, I'll probably use it up anyhow.

Eye Shadow -NYX - Trio Eyeshadow TS1 (White/ Pearly silver/ Soft black)
Lomelindi 9/16/2010 2:55:00 PM
Holy effing cow, these are so pigmented!! This is an absolutely FANTASTIC find and works better than most eyeshadows that are worth a ton more. (Forget using MAC or higher end eyeshadows, the white and black in this trio are probably just as --if not more-- pigmented.) The black is extremely dark, matte and absolutely wonderful for everything from lining to darkening another eyeshadow (use only a little bit!) to making a smokey eye. The white and the gray don't look allll that different, but the white is very useful as well for highlighting and also for smokey eyes. (It's not AS pigmented as the black one, so you may have to use a little more of it.) Personally, the gray doesn't do much for me but it's not a bad shade. The only con about this product is that these eyeshadows are so pigmented that it kind of wrecks my brushes because I'll spend a few minutes wiping them off before I can dip them in another color. Also, they're more of a 'dusty/chalky' kind of feel so there's a little fall out when you first apply them, but nothing a big brush won't solve.

Palettes -Too Faced - Eye Shadow Insurance Policy, High Impact Eye Shadow Collection
Lomelindi 9/16/2010 1:51:00 PM
This purchase was a splurge for me, but it was worth every penny! I was skeptical of the primer at first, but once I tried it, it was simply AMAZING, especially for someone like me with oily skin and very crease-prone eyelids. (One of my eyelids creases in on top of itself, so it is a wreck sometimes.) Also, the six eyeshadows are highly pigmented and provide a punch. I was slightly worried because they went on with a lot of shine and glitter, but in pictures and from afar, they didn't look over-the-top at all. I wouldn't use the darker eyeshadows (the green and blue) anywhere outside of a club/party/special occasion, but the lighter two (the bronze and the peachy one) work really well for anything from a smokey eye to a simple, natural eye look. Also, the eyeshadows came in a really flat little booklet, which fits into every bag I own.
