Treatments -L'Oreal - ColorSpa Moisture Actif [DISCONTINUED]

I used the chestnut shade (med red brown) to warm up my roots and cover a few grays I've developed since my last permanent coloring. The color did a fine job on my brown hairs, but didn't seem to stick to the gray ones much at all. I won't repurchase and the main reason is that this stuff makes a HUGE MESS! It is the drippiest hair dye I have ever used. It seriously has the consistency of water. I had no control with the bottle because as soon as I tipped it over, dye came pouring out. Also, most of my bathroom has now hints of chestnut everywhere. It will take me forever to clean it all up.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Fresh Brew
rated 4 of 5

This lipstick, applied lightly, looks gorgeous! It tones down the pigment in my lips, warms them up, and gives them a tiny bit of shimmer. I love the texture of the lustres too and they aren't drying like some of the other MAC formulas.

Fragrances -Clinique - Aromatics Elixir

I got this way back when in a GWP and it is terrible. Imagine someone mixing 5 of your least favorite perfumes. This is what you get.

Fragrances -Estee Lauder - Youth Dew
rated 1 of 5

This is not my style at all. I don't like the smell of it on me and I don't like the smell of it on other people. Maybe that will change when I get older. I don't think I like any perfume that's not clear and this is a deep dark brown. Very strong, almost offensive smell to my nose.

Liquid -Cover Girl - CG Smoothers All Day Hydrating Makeup
rated 5 of 5
surfgal626 2/14/2004 9:48:00 PM

Some time ago, they changed this from a tinted moisturizer to a hydrating makeup. I think the people who are expecting good coverage foundation are going to be disappointed. I like this product a lot, but I am having trouble matching my skintone. I've tried natural ivory (too light) and creamy natural (closer, but just not right) so far. The swatches all look the same and the website doesn't help. I like the product itself though, so I will keep trying. There are tons of shades, unlike the old version which just had things like "fair to light." Also, the new formula doesn't have that noxema smell that the old one has.

Lips -Bonne Bell - Clic-It
rated 5 of 5
surfgal626 2/14/2004 6:14:00 PM

I love these things - I bought clear and one that is edgy risque or just edgy or just risque. Can't figure it out. Anyway, the clear reminds me a lot of mac lipglass - gives great shine and feels moisturizing. Smells like a glade vanilla candle which is a little strong for my tastes. The other one (edgy risque) reminds me of my favorite lipglass, song and dance. I compared the colors on my lips side by side and they are slightly different, but definitely comparable. I'd say the BB one is a little less pigmented and sheer. Oh, this one smells like some sort of berry. I kind of wish they all smelled the same, cause you never know what you are buying until it's too late. The price is a little steep for Bonnie Bell ($5.49) and I'm mad at CVS for lying to me and telling me they were $1.99. I almost bought every color!

Fragrances -Philosophy - Falling In Love Shimmer set
rated 5 of 5
surfgal626 2/6/2004 12:28:00 AM

This product is so cute! I love this fragrance. I just got it two days ago and it is my new favorite scent. It is vanilla, blackberries and musk rolled into one romantic fragrance. It has reasonably good staying power - the same as most other fragrances is this price range. (The set was $45 from Sephora, by the way). The shimmer is very subtle and wears off quickly, but I didn't buy the perfume for the shimmer so I'm not upset about it. Lots of people have complimented the scent too - most think it is a soap or a shampoo, not a perfume.

Blush -MAC - Sheertone in Pinch O'Peach
rated 5 of 5
surfgal626 2/5/2004 7:21:00 PM

I think this blush is a staple of any light to medium skinned gals collection. It might be too light for anyone darker though. It gives me the perfect natural flush that I have been looking for. I thought it would be too similar to blushbaby, so I put off buying it, but it is less brown, more pink and I need them both! There isn't a heck of a lot of peach in this, so it will work for people who think they can't wear peach. Great texture, love the sheertones!

Lipstick -MAC - Hot Tahiti Lipstick
rated 4 of 5
surfgal626 2/2/2004 10:36:00 PM

This is my first MAC Glaze lipstick and I am really happy with it. The texture is sort of a cross between a lustre and a satin. It has slight sheen, slightly sheer, good pigment. Others have described the color well, so I won't try. I will mention though that it really brightens up my face and makes my lips look great. It's a little more pigmented than anything I would normally pick out for daytime use, but this may be my new favorite nighttime lipstick!

Lip Gloss -MAC - song and dance lipglass
rated 5 of 5
surfgal626 2/1/2004 8:51:00 PM

I love this so much, I scour ebay for it regularly. It is the perfect medium rose to give me a MLBB look. I don't care too much for the other lipglasses - they are too unnatural looking, but this one is classic. Unfortunately, it's LE, which I think is a really stupid move on MAC's part. Nice vanilla scent, stupid wand.

Lotions/ Creams -Nivea - Extra Enriched Lotion
rated 1 of 5
surfgal626 2/1/2004 8:44:00 PM

I absolutely hate this stuff. The smell is strong and awful. The lotion is really greasy and doesn't absorb into my skin. I don't feel like it moisturizers at all. Unfortunately, I trusted the nivea name and bought two giant bottles of this stuff from Sam's Club and now I have no idea what to do with it. They weigh too much, so it's not worth swapping. Bad nivea!

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Syrup
rated 4 of 5
surfgal626 2/1/2004 8:35:00 PM

I got this in a swap and it is a good addition to my MAC lipstick collection. It is a sheer plummy pink with a tiny bit of shimmer. I love the lustre texture! If I apply lightly, it is totally MLBB! If I put on a few too many coats, I don't really like the look of it. It's like it is trying to become frosty lilac.

Lipstick -MAC - Lustre in Hug Me
rated 5 of 5
surfgal626 2/1/2004 8:33:00 PM

I love the texture of this lipstick. My first experience with MAC lipsticks was the satins, which I found to be very drying. I got this lustre in a swap and am really impressed with it. It tones down the pink in my lips, leaving a slightly rosy beige color. This is as close to nude as I will ever do. It looks and feels fantastic and might become my new everyday lipstick (or I will alternate with NARS dolce vita)

Tinted Moisturizer -Laura Mercier - Tinted Moisturizer SPF 20
rated 5 of 5
surfgal626 2/1/2004 8:28:00 PM

I have this in nude, and it's a perfect match for my LLL skin. I use a moisturizer beforehand, just so it glides on smoothly. It really does make my skin look flawless. Lasts for a long time and looks good all day. Sheer, natural, light coverage. A little less sheer than other tinted moisturizers I've tried, but that's okay. I love the squeeze tube. I put down that I would buy this again, although I'm not sure. I got it from Saks for half off, and even though I love it, I don't know if I can shell out $40 for it.

Liquid -Jane - Stay Calm Foundation [DISCONTINUED]
rated 5 of 5
surfgal626 2/1/2004 8:25:00 PM

I bought "fair enough" first and it was WAY too pale for my LLL skin, so I went with "buffy" and it's a near perfect match. For everyday wear, I thin it out a little bit with neutrogena moisturizer because I like sheer coverage. I have combination skin, and have not experience any irritation or breakouts. I love the squeeze bottle. Very practical!
