This product was a real let down as the heat generated is no where near enough to make any difference, you are better off using hot water to mix the product with. It does not spread easily and requires some water, but it doesn’t mix easily either so there is dough-with-water effect. It is far too harsh to use on dry skin and the scrub particles were not concentrated enough together with being too large. I found this painful to use and being a higher priced scrub, it is a dud. The Clinique exfoliating scrub is a world away and is a lot more effective with a fresh, tingle finish. Save your money and go buy a scratchie instead.

This will leave you looking like an oil slick and it doesn’t get much better. There is virtually no absorbency and would suits skins on the drier side. There was no discernable difference, so if you have been using retinols or acid based products before, I suspect that the concentration of ingredients is too low for any effect.

This is an impressive foundation for combination skins due to its light texture and great colour range. The colour does not darken throughout the day, like most foundations and the lasting power is good. It is however, very pigmented while being very light. The coverage is medium as the colour payoff is good so only a small amount is needed and absorbency is good leaving a dry but dewy finish. The only drawback is that it doesn’t contain many oil absorbing ingredients so those with oily skin will look oily after a few hours. It is pitched at combination-oily skins due to its fresh, light texture but it really isn’t for humid conditions or very oily skin. What is great is that the colour stays true all day. Blotting papers and a quick hand are required for this, it dries very quickly.

The best mattifying moisturiser I have found. Great for summer and humid days or under makeup, it keeps you totally dry for at least 6 hours. Not drying and with a mild lavender fragrance. This truly is amazing if you want a powerful, anti-shine moisturiser. It is different from other types as it feels as if it is a part of your skin, not like you have dusted yourself in a layer of powdered film, like most silicone based types. Make sure you keep the pump closed as water content will evaporate leaving the lotion thicker.

Moisturizers -RoC - Age Diminishing Daily Moisturizer with SPF 15

This moisturiser is designed for oily skins who don’t need much moisture. I did not find this to be moisturising most of the time and can only be worn on humid days. It dries quickly to a matt finish but the fact that it has light reflective particles can impart a bit of a shine. I also found this to clog the pores, not in a severe way leading to acne but it cause the oil to harden within the pores. This gets really high ratings on drugstore.com and one of the reasons is that it absorbs quickly and fully. The pump is one of the best I have seen and does not block even if you don’t use it in a while. I find the Clinique superdefense to be a more superior product in every way, but this is pretty good for the price.

There is not much fault that can be said of this product. The product performs very well, has great results and the packaging is the best for oils I have come across. This is a great oil if you have oily-combination skin as it is very runny and absorbs quickly. The skin looks plumper, more radiant and smoother with just one use. I have also found this to be great for the day under moisturiser as it acts like a primer for make up. Foundations go on smoother and this is better than silicone based primers. This does not block pores and the air tight pump is great. Half a pump is all that is needed to achieve a radiant look.

Moisturizers -Clinique - Superdefense SPF 25 Age Defense-Combo Oily to Oily

This is definitely a more improved formula to the original superdefense. The cream is finer in texture and is more of a lotion which comes in the same tub. The greatest improvement is its absorbency; it still takes slightly longer to absorb and looks shiny once you have just applied it, but once it sinks into the skin, it leaves a smooth matt finish and takes much longer for you to look shiny. It holds make up much better and due to its longer lasting matt finish, I did not experience any sliding of make up as I did with the previous version. You also need less and it hydrates better. Do not use around the eyes as it stings, still waiting for an eye version to come out. This product would be much better packaged in a pump, since it is a lotion after all.

Concealers -Revlon - ColorStay Under Eye Concealer

This was the first concealer I ever used when I was 14 and I have come back to it. The formula has definitely improved with a light consistency but same lasting power. The colour 01 Pale Light is a yellow based tone and provides ample coverage for under the eyes. The packaging is average Revlon quality with a fuzzy brush tip. It doesn’t seep into lines and really lasts all day. This is best used over foundation as it dries quickly but once you budge it, it will leave a smear which doesn’t come off easily. For the price, it can’t be beat. Better than Bobbi Brown by a country mile.

Concealers -Stila - Illuminating Concealer

This is a pretty good concealer which has a very smooth consistency. Its coverage is low and the packaging is good with a brush wand. The colours are extensive and yellow based. As an under eye concealer, its lasting power doesn’t last all day and requires too much patting for around the eye area. I think this would be too runny for spots. It has a great satin finish. It is far superior to Bobbi brown concealers which leave you looking chalky. This is one of the best on the market and definitely Stila’s best, with a smooth, light satin finish. The only downside is that it is good for about half a day.

Lip Treatments -Burt's Bees - Beeswax Lip Balm

The performance of this product is on par with Vaseline. It coats the lips in natural oils but does not soften them and doesn’t allow dry skin to come off more easily. The consistency is good, maintains its hard form and smells great with its minty lemon smell. There is no after taste and hold lipsticks well. Its moisturising power is moderate but is not for very dry lips. Juice Beauty lip balms are far superior and natural as well.

Cleansers -Alba Botanica - Hawaiian Pineapple Enzyme Facial Cleanser

Great cleanser for combination skins. Very effective with natural ingredients and rinses clean. Smells like pineapple juice and is in clear gel form. Packaging is great as one pump dispenses perfect amount. It contains a low level of acids which is not really enough to exfoliate but it does allow a more thorough clean.

Cleansers -L'Occitane - Foaming Rice Cleanser

This is an average cleanser for combination skins. There is nothing special about this cleanser and did not provide visible oil-control afterwards. The consistency is slightly thick and white but is highly foaming and washes clean. The packaging is great with a pump that dispenses a perfect amount and gets every last bit out. It has a strong vanilla fragrance which I found a bit too much, but did not detract the rating of the product. For the price, there are better cleansers out there.

This is a very average product, especially for the price as it does nothing special. I do not see the same protective effect as I do with the Neutrogena Antioxidant Age Reverse line. This is a basic moisturiser and is a gel-cream formula. It absorbs easily but doesn’t contain any shine/oil minimising agents.

Blush -Bobbi Brown - apricot powder blush

This is the blush for you if you want a brightening blush. The colour is very bright in the pan but doesn’t translate to the same brightness on your face. The formulation is a highly milled powder and a gentle sweep is enough to provide a matt finish. Every time I wear this, I get compliments. It is clear that you are wearing make up with this blush but it attracts a lot of attention due to its colour. Works well with mid tone eye and lip colours. The tone is a perfect mix of pink and orange and I have not come close to finding something as good in the bright blush department. Not for shrinking violets.

Skincare - Face -Caudalie - Contour Cream Eyes and Lips

This eye cream will make a visible difference after one application. The texture is a light cream which absorbs easily and does not have sparkly light diffusers. It minimises lines and lightens dark circles without being so heavy it causes milia. There is nothing not to like and the packaging is good with a tiny nozzle with a circular cap enabling it to stand upside down by itself so every last bit comes out. This is a great eye cream which really works.
